Lotus is a force to be reckon with in the NY fashion scene and in her personal life. Kenan is a single, sidvoced ad in the final years of his baskerball career.
Like all Ryan Kennedy books, the characters are complicated, troubled and emotional. They both have lots of trauma to over-come.... But their love is so powerful that it works.... Totally enjoy it. Love seeing all the other former characters in this book too!
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

I have loved the entire Hoops series and each book is my favorite in a different way. Kennedy Ryan’s storytelling and writing is just masterful and I am always in awe of how her stories unfold. If you’ve read any of the other books in the series then you will already be familiar with the main characters of this book. Lotus “Lo” and Kenan were everything together and I loved their amazing bond/connection. Kenan has been wanting Lo in his life for a while so finally seeing him get his girl was so sweet.
This features an 11-year age gap ( she’s 25, he’s 36), it’s friends-to-lovers, and Kenan is a divorced dad co-parenting his 14 year old daughter with his ex-wife. Like all Kennedy’s books, this story takes you on an emotional journey with both characters. There is a lot of trauma to overcome and pulling on heartstrings throughout this read, but I promise the journey is worth it. I loved seeing all the characters from the Hoops series in this book, even the hero from the Holiday Hoops novella makes an appearance. We also have a crossover moment with Grip & Bristol making appearances!
CW: childhood sexual abuse and rape, attempted suicide

4.5 stars.
Another winner in the Hoops series. Although this could be read as a standalone, I would advise reading the first two books prior to this one, as there are characters from the first two books in this one and their backstories are helpful in understanding the greater context. This was another emotional romance that Kennedy crafted with pure mastery. I liked the emphasis on therapy and emotional healing. Also, I love a single parent romance story, and Kenan was so easy to root for.
Fans of emotional romances who also like sports romances should absolutely check out this series!

I will never get over just how talented Kennedy Ryan is. Hook Shot is my absolute favorite book from this series and one of all-time favorites. I’ll never stop speaking about it and recommending it to anyone who might listen!

This book, just like the first one on the series was a highly emotional story that NEEDS to come with trigger and content warnings!
Again, I absolutely love Kennedy Ryan‘s writing and this book is just a pure gem!
The journey and growth Lotus experiences is one of a kind. Kenan is faced with his own troubles but these two are just perfect for each other.
I absolutely loved the whole Hoops series and can’t wait for more!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved Lotus in the first book of this series and how fierce and strong she was. So I was excited when she finally got her book. Kenna is a single dad and an NBA star. They have an age gap but they are meant to be. Lotus overcomes her trauma and even helps Kenyan put things into perspective at times when it comes to his daughter and his meddling ex-wife. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more by Kennedy Ryan.
