I so enjoyed this third book in the Jubilee, Kentucky series! This is the story of Sean and Amalie. They met once as children and now fate has brought them together again. This time they are not letting go of each other. Amalie has never had a family of her own and is loving being a part of the huge Pope family. They find trust in each other through all of life's twists and turns. This is my first series by Sharon Sala and it won't be my last! Many thanks to NetGalley for letting me read the ARC of this book.

This is the third book in the Jubilee series about the Polk family. It can be read as a stand alone. It's about two souls reconnecting after twenty years of being apart.
Amalie and Sean knew each other in elementary school. He was her knight in shining armor protecting her from bullies. When they meet again 20 years later, they instantly feel this connection, one of meeting their soulmate.
This book was very good. But I will admit there are several storylines going thru it. In the beginning,so many characters were introduced I had some trouble keeping up. But if you stick with it, in the end it pays off.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I want to thank Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book.

After a personal struggle Amalie looks to a new start. Having been a lifelong foster child she is no stranger to starting over, but fate it seems has a plan for her. Sean Pope is finally settling in to his life as part of Pope Mountain, when a job opportunity leads to a blast from the past. Sean and Amalie are given a second chance. Having met as children life got in the way and separated them. After mutual tragedies they have been brought together again by the magic and mystery of Pope mountain.
This is another great, sweet romance with a bit of a suspenseful twist, actually a few twists, by the author. The attraction between Sean and Amalie is almost instantaneous but soft, focusing more on the relationship between the two and their families than steaminess. The action though, well that will have you constantly turning the page to see what next is about to occur as there are so many facets to this book. This is the third book in the Pope Mountains, with many familiar faces from previous books. Those familiar with this author know that she has an uncanny ability to weave the intertwining stories together so those who have not yet read the previous books (although I highly recommend that you do) will not feel lost at all with the multitude of characters. It’s a nonstop mix of romance, action, tragedy, drama, humor and mystery. Basically, it has it all. I can’t wait to see who will be the next one to find love in the mountains and hope the story comes soon. This story will not disappoint. Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to voluntarily read and review this book. A 5 star must read.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Pope Mountain seems like a great place to grow roots and with the Pope family in residence they take care of their own and the ones they love. This was a beautiful love story that came about through several tragedies.

Sit back and relax and read about Sean and Amalee, Wolf and the other Pope families. Great read.

Heartbeat is a very well written romantic suspense. I throughly enjoyed the fast paced plot and the character dynamics. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.

The book has it all. Drama, romance, and intrigue wrapped up into one thrilling novel.

Amalie and Sean grow so much in this novel, from the backstory of them having had been in school together to how he had saved her from some bullies? Swoon worthy if you ask me. I loved watching these two main characters grow in such a way that they’re living rent free in my mind.

With their rough upbringings I feel like they simply had that extra layer of glue that stuck them together, I can’t imagine being in foster care and aging out when looking at Amalie’s past and backstory. The supernatural touch was a welcome addition into the plot lines in the novel, and unexpected.

I’m a huge fan of instalove tropes and this one knocked it out of the park for me. In my opinion the length of time between their fated meeting only helped to drive their romance home and make it significantly more real.

The meat of the plot left me guessing at every twist and turn and while I am so glad they got their HEA, the plot itself and the events that happen really had my head buried in the book. So invested that I had the hardest time putting it down.

If you went a well paced romance novel with a solid amount of suspense, Sala is an absolute mastermind at creating such wonderful books that capture and keep your attention with ease.

Highly recommend! Thank you to Sharon Sala and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the eARC!

It's been a while that I read a Thriller and Sharon Sala delivered a well executed one. There were tiny moving pieces coming together beautifully. As I moved ahead with the plot, every small detail started to make sense and it was definitely an immersing journey. The romantic part was also nicely balanced. Overall, it was an engrossing story with endless twists and heartwarming feelings.

Amalie Lincoln moves to the beautiful small town of Jubilee, by Mountain Pope, for a fresh beginning after she almost died in a car accident but survived barely with the burn scars. She will start her CPA business again and meeting Sean Pope, one of her childhood friend, was a nice surprise. Within few days of her moving in, a chopper crashes down near Jubilee public school and billionaire businessman Wolfgang Outan is suspected to be dead. But how does this tie to Amalie?

Damn, writing reviews for thrillers is always hard because I don't want to give you spoilers. Reading this story very much reminded me of Jeffrey Archer's books where the details come together in a precise and shocking way. It's told from third person POV and that too from multiple third persons so you have to pay attention and even when some random piece of information seems out of place, it actually isn't. Amalie has fought hard to establish herself throughout her foster home life and she is successful. But she feels lonely and sad and she craves to know her origin. She will find some shocking but amazing answers. And she will also find her soulmate in Sean Pope. The Popes are one of the original settlers and they have a big population interconnected with each other through Jubilee. Sean's family is such a warm and sweet one and they embraced Amalie easily. Sean is the perfect gentleman who cares about Amalie deeply from the first meeting. They did have a special connection all those years ago as kids before Amalie was displaced to another forster home. She is kind and smart and beautiful inside out. And Sean is the protective loving adoring man she deserves. There is a component of near death experience and psychic powers and mystical history those add to the complexity of the plot. The mystery of the chopper explosion and death of Wolfgang Outen unfolds in a sharp and jaw dropping way through the story as Amalie and Sean's love story is developed. The puzzle pieces fall into place and Amalie gets tangled into the web of secrets and truths. It was nicely executed and the details won't overwhelm you. You will play the game of who done it with the author while enjoying the swoony romance. It wasn't spicy but I am not complaining as the suspense made up for it.

this is the third book in a series but can be read as standalone. I love all the books Sharon Sala writes. good story.

Book 3 in this series did not disappoint! Although part of a series it could be read as a standalone book, but I highly recommend reading in order for the greatest understanding of the Pope family heritage.

In true Sala style there's mystery, intrigue, suspense, and a whole lot of romance. When Amalie aka Mollie meets Sean again the sense of connection is immediate. Once he explains why his last name is different from when they were children and she explains why she now goes by Amalie, they rebuild the trust and love fostered when they were in elementary school together.

They both suffered greatly as children but have emerged into adulthood stronger . The story is uplifting and hard to put down. I highly recommend adding this Sharon Sala series to your TBR shelf!

Although I received a free ARC ebook from Net Galley and the publisher, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love reading books that have some background in places I’ve lived (AR/KY)💜. I haven’t read the first two books in the series so I’m not really sure if it made a difference in the storyline but I thought overall it was a good book. I did enjoy the storyline but I felt like there was so many POVs that it was a little bit too much. Instead of just 2 or 3 people.

This read is an emotional rollercoaster. It starts big and doesn't stop. I love the Pope's and this was a great addition to the series. Sean and Amalie just tugged the heartstrings. The romance is just right and balanced perfectly with the action and suspense. It was one thing after another and the pacing was fast. Before I knew it hours had passed and I had reached the end.

Heartbeat by Sharon Sala. Fast paced with multiple storylines woven together into a lovely HEA story in which all the villians get their just punishment. The third book in the Jubilee series provides updates and history on the extended Pope family. Looking forward to the next visit to Pope Mountain and the families.

Thank you to Sharon Sala, SourceBooks-Casablanca,and Netgalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

I was gifted an ARC through NetGalley. This was the first book I have read by this author. I was very intrigued by synopsis of the story. The story started off very intriguing but wavered in waves to keep my interest. I loved all the thriller parts of this book. In the start, I find there to be too many characters introduced with abrupt transitions which made it hard to keep track of but this got better as the story went on. I usually read slow-burn romances so the romance of the main characters seemed very abrupt and unlikely but not impossible. I’m glad there was happy endings all around. I felt like there were some parts of the book that were quite drawn out but overall I enjoyed the read. I also think there were a lot of pieces of the story that would have made more sense to me if I had read previous books in the series.

Heartbeat

Amalie Lincoln is driving along a road when a drunk driver hits her, spins and hits her car once again. She is pulled from the car by a brave man just before the car becomes engulfed in flames. She was in the hospital for months to heal her burns and injuries. After returning home and finishing therapy she decided to move to a place she found comfort. Jubilee, Kentucky was pleasant and secluded next to the Hope Mountains. It is a beautiful place and she felt that since a visit after recovering, she could make the place home. She could open her business there and return to helping folks who needed a CPA. What Amalie did not know was that a family from her childhood lived there. Her finding their son, Sean was a miracle. He had saved her from bullies in 3rd grade, something she never forgot.
Heartbeat will be published by Sourcebooks Casablanca on February 06, 2024 I was able to read Sala’s latest novel via NetGalley. It is part 3 of the Jubilee, Kentucky series. This is a lovely story of friends and family. Amalie had no one. At birth she was placed in the foster care system and lived with several families as she grew to age 18.
This emotional, wonderful story is a true page turner. Sharon Sala grips her readers in chapter one and does not let go. Will be starting to read Don’t Back Down, #1 in the series soon. The Jubilee stories are heartwarming, sincere journeys that I look forward to following. Do enjoy this one.

Heartbeat is the 3rd book in the Jubilee series. It can be read as a standalone, since there is plenty of background info on the extended Pope family, even if at times, the shere number of names can be a bit challenging. There are a lot of different sub-plots, some of them quite far-fetched and I wasn't expecting the paranormal elements that are woven into the story. I can get behind the concept of 'it's a small world', lovers re-born and re-united through eternity not so much. I loved that the villains in the story got their come-uppance and the wonderful HEA.

Sharon Sala is and has long been one of my favorite go-to authors, and Heartbeat, the third novel in her Jubilee series is just one of the reasons why--her storytelling ability is astonishing, and this novel is all the proof you need--it's a 5-star read. If you've not yet read the first two books in the series, don't worry, Heartbeat works just fine as a standalone.

We first meet Amalie, who was abandoned in an alley shortly after her birth, and who grew up in foster care, knowing nothing about her parents or why she wasn't wanted. As she's driving to work one morning, a drunk driver causes a horrific accident, trapping Amalie in her burning car until she's pulled out of the flaming wreckage and hospitalized with life-threatening burns. Her recovery took so long that she lost her job and many of her "friends," who were put off by her many scars. Having previously vacationed and been charmed by the small, touristy town of Jubilee, Kentucky, she decides to start over, move there, and start her own CPA business, all of this aided by her neighbor, a lawyer, who sued the driver on her behalf and won big, leaving her very well-off financially.

We next meet Sean Pope, one of the many Pope descendents in Jubiliee. He's an IT secialist, when he comes to install the computer equipment in Amalie's new office. The two seem familiar to one another, and it turns out that when Amalie was in elementary school, being teased and bullied by three other boys who put gum in her hair, someone came to her rescue and beat up her tormentors getting expelled for his behavior--and the young boy who came to her rescue was Sean, who had a secret crush on young Amalie, and neither Sean nor Amalie had ever forgotten it. Sean was her hero, but her current set of foster parents decided she was too much trouble, put her back into the system, and that was the last time she and Sean saw one another. While I'm not a big fan of insta-love, in this novel, there instant attraction to one another after being separated for almost two decades, wasn't a huge turn-off--instead, it was rather sweet.

But if you think this is just another sweet, small town romance, similar to Ms. Sala's Blessings, Georgia series, think again, because this is also one taut, well-paced novel of romantic suspense, that kicks off when a helicopter headed for Jubilee explodes in mid-air, the burning wreckage falling and threatening an elementary school filled with young children and their teachers, with the reason for the crash being no accident, and no, I'm not telling you more than that, because I don't do spoilers, but if you're at all intrigued by who the victims were and why, and/or who left 6-day-old Amalie to die in an alley, her search for answers, or the rekindled relationship between Amalie and Sean, I think you'll enjoy this novel every bit as much as I did, and I'm happy to recommend it.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

Heartbeat, book 3 of the Jubilee, Kentucky series by Sharon Sala @sharonkaysala_. First off, I am a long-time fan of Sharon’s & this book was no different! This is part of a series but can be read stand-alone.

This was such a fantastic book! Romance at the core, but so much drama outside the main characters. 😳 if you want romance with suspense & a bit of mystery this is the book for you!

I received this #ARCBook early and for my honest review from @netgalley.

This is book three in the Jubilee, Kentucky series of suspense and romance, my two favorites by one of my favorite authors. Amalie spent her childhood in foster care after being found in a dumpster. Sean Pope is a salt of the earth man who will melt your heart.
This story is about a budding romance, a helicopter explosion and Amalie's past coming at her. It's about how far a man is willing to go to protect the woman he loves. My only complaint about this book was how much I hated the lawyer and I would have liked more sex scenes, other than that this book was a home run for me.
If you haven't read Sharon Sala I highly recommend you do, you won't be disappointed. This book can be read as a standalone. I received this book from NetGallery for my honest review and opinion.

It made me cry and it made me laugh out loud. Best Sharon Sala Book Ever! This is a book that was light on the romance and also light on the suspense. There was no mystery involved on either front and that was a minor disappointment. What was not a disappointment was the warm, cozy feelings you got from the people living on Pope Mountain.

Amalie Lincoln spent two weeks in Jubilee, Kentucky and Pope Mountain spoke to her. She packed up her life and moved there seeking a new start. Amalie's life has never been a bed of roses, but she just knew Jubilee was where she was meant to be and was excited to open her CPA firm there. As fate seemed to be directing her life, she hires Sean Pope to install her new computer system and a circle is completed.

Sean Pope knows a lot about the hard knocks in life and he knew Amalie had had a few too. He also knew she seemed really, really familiar, but he just couldn't place from where. When they figure out that they had been together for third grade, that time came back along with the feelings they had for each other as children who found comfort in each other.

On the day Sean and Amalie reconnect there is evil afoot in another part of the country that will directly impact Jubilee. When a helicopter explodes over Jubilee, neither Sean or Amalie could possibly know exactly how much that event would impact their lives or that is would put Amalie in danger. Sean knew he would protect her just like he did when he was a nine-year-old kid, and he also knows he is never going to let her go.

My thanks to the Publisher and Author for providing a complimentary digital audio Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.
