Every Day Is Christmas is sort of a retelling of the Dicken's classic, "A Christmas Carol" which reminds us how important that family is in the grand scheme of things. I found this to be a heartwarming read, and would suggest it to others.

I rarely tear up over a book, but this one got to me. The story is very predictable, but it's merry and heartwarming, especially toward the end. It was really nice when Alexis opened her heart up for love again, but it was also funny how she had a complete personality change on Christmas. I've read countless versions of this same story, but I think it's also the kind of story that never gets old to me.

Fairly predictable rom com but it was still a good read that I enjoyed it. It was also a quick read.

I found that this book was a tad predictable. It was a sweet book though, I am glad that I read it. I do like to read seasonal books here and there. It was fast and I was not bored. If you are looking for something that you don’t need to think about to much this is the book for you!

Every Day is Christmas by Karen Schaler is a modern take on the classic Christmas story 'A Christmas Carol'. Alexis Taylor is a super successful woman at the top of her field working in finance. She seems to have it all, but in reality, she doesn't have love in her life. Not only with a man, but she also has no family and it seems, no other meaningful relationships. This Christmas though, her past, present, and future collide with the arrival of a special visitor. Alexis takes a hard look at her life and makes some tough decisions. I read this after Christmas so wasn't sure I would be in the Christmas mood still, but I easily got into it and loved the story.

Karen Schaler is becoming known as one of the queens of holiday stories. Her newest book Every Day Is Christmas is a prime example of this. It is a modern day retelling of the classic A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens which is filled with a strong sense of warmth and humor that wraps you in a tight holiday hug.

Alexis Taylor does not celebrate Christmas. She hasn't had anything to do with the holiday since the loss of her parents right as she was starting her career. Losing them motivated her to put all of her focus into making and keeping money and she has become very good at it. She never lets anyone get too close to her which is why is she has any traditions at all for the holidays she usually finds herself breaking up with her current boyfriend before they get too attached. She also spends most of her time alone unless she is being chauffeured by her driver Justin.

After returning to her empty home on Christmas Eve, Alexis attempts to drown herself in her work so that she doesn't have to think of anything else. Yet there seems to be other plans for her in store when she is visited by an unexpected guest who starts her off on a journey learning all about her past, present, and future. As you can imagine, this story is filled with all the classic magic of A Christmas Carol but also seems to have this modern day feel to it which makes it more relatable to present day society. 

As a female in the business world, Alexis has learned how to gain control of her emotions and in her eyes not show any weakness. The journey which she goes on throughout this story helps open her heart and forces her to realize that showing emotion and telling others you care about them does not make you weak. Admittedly, I'm kind of a lover of these kinds of redemption stories so I did enjoy this one. Does everything end up wrapped up in the perfect little bow? Well it is a story filled with holiday magic which fills your heart with warmth along the way.

A Christmas Carol is one of my favourite Christmas stories so I knew I was bound to love this modern day take on it. I was correct, love it I did! It felt like a hallmark movie crossed with a Christmas classic in book form. The perfect amount of Christmas combined with a heartwarming story. Karen S never lets me down when it comes to a Christmas read!

What more could you expect than a perfect hallmark Christmas read. It is a great retelling of A Christmas Carol with all the heartwarming and cozy feels.

A slightly different spin on the traditional, ‘A Christmas Carol’ we see Alexis having to be visited by people from her past to try and make her change her ways before it’s too late. Although this is a story we all know and love, ‘Everyday is Chrismas’ shows you why Alexis isn’t the usual “Scrooge” when it comes to Christmas and we get to see, quite heartbreakingly, why she feels about Christmas as she does. But this wouldn’t be a heartwarming Christmas tale without the heart that is in this story.

A modern twist on a Christmas Carol, Karen Schaler’s every day is Christmas is an incredibly Christmassy read. Whilst Alexis, the main character is so ‘bah humbug’, it almost gets too frustrating but that’s the whole point! Read if you really want to get into the Christmas spirit!

EVERY DAY IS CHRISTMAS is A Christmas Carol’s Scrooge reimagined as Alexis Taylor, a high-powered, successful financial executive who avoids relationships and Christmas like the plague.

We follow Alexis as she revisits moments from her past where she has some introspection, and at times traumatic.

I love the messages and themes from Schaler’s novels, this one can have some triggering moments as it’s a bit heavier than her other novels. Alexis was hard to handle at first, which I did enjoy seeing her transformation as a character more as the novel progressed. This coupled with loss of parents, workplace stress, and mentions of a sick child could make this novel tough to approach, so tread lightly and give yourself space if needed.
