I breezed through this book in almost no time. Nice and quick read. Not boring but nothing to keep in the memory bank for re-reading.

What's not to love about a Heidi Rice Presents novel? Her books are always fantastic and this one was no exception.

The h went to a gala and crosses path with the H. They spend the night together, the h’s identity unknown to the H. She gets pregnant and tries to notify the H unsuccessfully. She miscarried the baby. Years later, she is a chef and is hired to cook for the H who was in a terrible racing accident and is in bad condition.

She decided to reinvent herself, electing to throw caution to the wind and enjoy everything the night would bring her. Jessie and Renzo's chemistry is off the charts and were well suited as they are both haunted by their past. The result is a passionate encounter that ends badly for both, as they cannot express their emotions. When an accident destroys Renzo's life, Jessie, now a successful private chef, is talked into helping his rehabilitation by her cousin Belle. In the end of the book really shows how strong love can be that it can conquer many life issues.

I loved reading Jessie and Renzo story. The ups and downs they go thru really made me root for them and their happy ending. Another great read Heidi!

My Final Say: This romance was heartbreaking in so many ways. Jessie and Renzo were both haunted by events that happened early on in their lives. Those events, of course, shaped their steps going forward. Still, they were able to get to their HEA in a beautifully healing way.

Other: This romance had a bit of a spicy kick to it. It also had dual POVs and shifts from the past to the present.
