The one thing that I got out of this novel is happiness is a choice. I agree with that sentiment.
Sabrina didn’t know love for most of her life so she secluded herself away from the outside world until she gets an inheritance and meets the London lawyer. I thought he was a ratfink.
It annoyed me how after making such a huge fuss about Gray lying to,her, she quickly forgets that and they’re all over each other.
The ending was abrupt.
Not one of my favorite DS stories.
I did like Philip’s characters and the dogs.

Happiness by Danielle Steel asks the question, What is happiness? That's the theme of this book. Can Sabrina find true happiness, after her lonely life and marriages. Will her new inheritance bring her happiness or will she have to it on her own. Will meeting Gray, be the turning point in her life or the ending once again. This author has a knack for writing the best stories. I will read anything she puts out as we are all searching for the happy in life!

I would like to thank NetGalley and Random House Ballentine for allowing me to read this book and give my honest opinion. This book caught me by surprise. Happiness? its such a weird weird to describe such a feeling. Sabrina, a child who was raised by her father only, was neglected emotionally growing up. She turned to writing, like her father. After a bad marriage, Sabrina was happily living in solitude and writing novels. She ends up being left an English estate by an uncle she did not know. She reluctantly goes to England and meets the charming attorney Grayson. She has to make lots of choices and there is a time in the book where it could have gone either way. But this book ends in Happiness.

Everyone has that dream of inheriting a wonderful mansion in England from an unknown relative, right? No? Just me? I enjoyed this fanciful tale of unexpected riches and (of course) a new love interest. The characters were believable and interesting, the setting was appealing, and the story - though predictable - was very enjoyable.

Perfect light reading.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC. This was a quick read, but was also a great story. Sabrina Brooks is a writer who endures a lonely childhood and an abusive marriage. She turns that marriage into the basis for her early books and then discovers a windfall inheritance that leads her to finding out about her parents and leads her to love. This one didn't disappoint!

HAPPINESS
Danielle Steel
Romance

This book is the story of Sabrina Brooks, an unassuming thriller writer. Things are about to change in her life though. She finds out that she has inherited not only an estate but an actual title. She is now a Lady in English society and then there is Grayson Abbott. Sabrina is unsure how to deal with all this.

This was a great book. There was a lot of romance and spice. I enjoyed the interaction with Sabrina and Grayson even long distance. I would give this book a solid 5 out of 5 stars for this book.

Sabrina has lead a sad life. Raised by a cold father, having a terrible marriage she hides away with her dogs and writes novels. She inherited a manor house in England and maybe there she can find love and happiness’.

Steel always delivers and enjoyable read that the reader can get lost in. Sabrina is a writer of thrillers, but her life is far from that. She receives word that she has inherited an estate outside of London. Eager to sell it she finds that with the help of the handsome estate attorney, perhaps she can find inner strength and choose a new path in life.

Sabrina Brooks was raised by an emotionally unreachable dad after her mom left them. After she escapes a marriage to a controlling narcissist, she becomes a successful writer of psychological thrillers based, in part, on her experiences. Living happily with her dogs in the Berkshires she is surprised to learn that she has inherited a large property in England from an uncle she has never met. She travels to see the property and becomes enmeshed in a relationship with the lawyer representing the estate. Should she keep the estate or stay happily in the US? This is a short quick read. I enjoyed some of the characters but the ending was too abrupt for me. I thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC.

An author of thriller novels inherits an English title (Lady) and a castle and has to decide if she will move to England or stay in her small community outside Boston. Of course a man (or two!) are involved. I enjoyed this book fairly well and completed on a plane where light novels seem to go down best.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for granting me an ARC of this book in return for my honest opinions.

Danielle Steel is one of my favorite authors and her books bare on my must read list!

The character, Sabrina Brooks seems content.. She has a wonderful job as a success author.

She lives in isolation in a beautiful in Massachusetts which she converted from a barn she with her dogs. After a horribly abusive marriage to a sociopath, a childhood lacking any emotional love from her father and the abandment by her mother she desires nothing else.

Enter a Grey sexy stranger, an inheritance from an Uncle she never knew in England and it all falls apart. She can not deny her attraction. But, can she trust him!

Such a beautiful romance.

Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this book. Happiness is a choice that we make, and this book is a great reminder.

I had not read a Danielle Steel book in probably 20 years. I decided to read for other reasons than entertainment - education, history, self help, etc. Then I saw Danielle Steel on Good Morning America talking about her new book, Happiness. After hearing what she had to say about the book, it went on my must read list. And I am so glad that it did.

Danielle Steel does a great job of introducing interesting characters that you want to get to know. The plot was interesting and difficult at times. The characters found happiness in their lives, but most of all they were content with what they had. I am really inspired by people that are content in their circumstances.

Family relationships were amazing for some characters but very difficult for others. Life is about dealing with the tough issues and resolving them the best way possible, so we can each be content and happy. The romance is the this book was very strong, but a lot had to happen to make the characters available to each other.

More Danielle Steel books will be in my future!

Sabrina is a very successful author who writes thrillers. Having been married twice, each for a short time, she has quite a bit of material on which to base her books. Her last husband, a physician, was violent. She lives a quiet live in the Berkshires, in an charming setting with her dogs. Her life changes when she receives a legal letter from England saying she has inherited an estate in the English countryside from an uncle. Not only an estate, but also a title, Lady Brooks!
She travels to England with the intention of selling the estate. She meets an attorney, Grayson, whose father just happens to own the property next door to hers and knew her uncle and family well.
Sabrina struggles with the decision to return to her home in the Berkshires or stay at the English countryside estate she has come to love. What will she choose?

I received a complimentary copy of the book "Happiness" by Danielle Steel and the opinions expressed are my own. This book is about a women who had a terrible and lonely childhood, after being abandoned by her mother when she was 6 years old and all but ignored by her father who had secluded himself everybody. She was used by her first husband for a green card and emotionally abused by her sociopath second husband. However, after all of this, thtough an unexpected event she was able to meet and find true love. So no matter how bad things seem don't give up, things can turn around.

Such a feel good book, left a smile on my face. Sabrina’s Journey of self discovery is very relatable. I love that ultimately, she was able to follow her heart because happiness is a choice, not a gift.
I’m never disappointed with a Danielle Steel. I truly enjoyed this book! Thank you.

This is a Slow Moving Romance/Women's Fiction. I loved how real the characters felt to me in this book. This book was not a happy fun romance, but it shows how one event in your life can change you and your life. This book was a crazy and emotional read. I really loved this book, and I could not put it down. There are some things in this book that may upset a reader, so please look into triggers before picking up this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Underwhelmed. I love reading "book books" - books that are about books or authors, bookstores, etc. Sabrina Brooks is a successful author, and much of her success can be attributed to her horrific 2nd marriage to a sociopath. They say, "write what you know about" and she does and does it well. This part of the story was very intriguing. The way she adores her 2 dogs is heartwarming. And after that I just lost interest. Don't get me wrong, it's a good story. It's a sweet story. It's a nice fantasy. But I kept waiting for more. More meat, more intrigue, more substance. I kept waiting for the second husband to show up, for something more to happen, it didn't. I usually feel that at least I learned something from reading one of her books but in this case, I don't feel like I even got that.
