I am one of those people who really enjoy the history of things I love so I knew I would like this. I love horror movies and while The Exorcist isn't my favorite its definitely a top 10 and a major influence in my love of horror.
I really liked all the information in this. I knew a lot of it but I liked that the author explored how all these different events and facts effected the movie the we all love.
I did wish we got more info on the effect The Exorcist has on horror movies as a whole. It talked about how this was an early first and how it was important but that was really it.
I will say if you are a horror movie buff this is definitely something great to read.

The Exorcist will forever be the most terrifying movie I have ever seen! Horror is subjective to what YOU particularly find scary, and possession, demons, deeply guttural voices, scary faces?!?!? That is what I personally love when it comes to horror, even if I have to watch behind the shield of my hand.
I have a full body reaction anytime I happen upon her face from this film. But that’s what it’s all about, that fear. It creates this buzz and I kind of love it, while I hate it at the same time.
So, when I saw this book, I JUMPED at the chance for a copy. And, I was not disappointed. I have followed along with whatever behind the scenes stuff I could find through the years since I watched this at 13, so there was a fair bit I was aware of when it came to behind the scenes… but there was so much I learned in this book. I was just enthralled from start to finish.
The remake is coming out in October and I am equal parts EXCITED and TERRIFIED to see it, especially since learning, through this book, that it’s going to be a trilogy! Gah!!!
If you’re a film buff, a horror fan, a lover of The Exorcist, I implore you to check this book out.
