This is a pretty standard Frieda book- twists and turns, suspense... everything you love about her writing.
I recommend giving it a read!

Frieda McFadden is an author I can always rely on for a nice juicy twist at the right time!
The Locked Door is a propulsive thriller with interesting characters. I wondered often how involved Nora may have been in her father’s crimes (in a Dexter Morgan, sort of way, and I’m happy with the direction the author took with her. The epilogue brought it home for me.

I love Freida McFadden, but I didn’t like The Locked Door as much as I thought I would. The main reason? It wasn’t convincing enough. The premise of the story was great: is Nora a serial killer like her father? I just found the plot to be poorly executed and the character of Nora too unrealistic.

Thank you to NetGalley and Poison Pen Press for the copy of this title in turn for my honest review.
How can you not like Freida McFaddens stories? Freida knows how to grip you and draw you into her stories.
Nora is a little girl growing up with what she thought was a normal life until the one night her dad finds her behind the locked door.
As an adult, Nora has left that whole life behind her. Then one night one of her patients was found murdered the same way her father killed all those girls years ago. Nora’s changed her name so no one would know her relation to such a horrible man. Who knows her secret? Who is killing her patients?
This is such a great story, thank you for allowing me to read and review it.

Freida McFadden is an auto buy for me! I’ve been looking for something just as good as The housemaid by her! This one was great! Definitely recommend if you like thrillers. Kept me on my toes and wasn’t too predictable.

The Locked Door. My fellow readers. Wow what and awesome performance played out by the killer. This is a book that took me deep into the mind of a doctor. A doctor who was actually driving her own self insane.
It reminded me of some instances with the reading of Edgar Allen Poe and his writing. In this scenario it’s Nora and her practice as a doctor. I loved all of the interesting characters. The characters that remained on my radar are Brady and Phillip. They seemed so cocky and sure of themselves. That’s the good stuff that made the book all the more interesting to read.
Good move with the pink girls room. It reminded me of a certain movie. Nora’s character was the key to unlocking many doors to the different characters and their story. I honestly believed that Nora was a vigilante. I just thought that her character was amazing.
The plot was perfectly told. Many parts of the storyline worked flawlessly with the subplot to Nora’s story. I enjoyed the suspense and the drama. The entertainment was exceptionally good. The writing is superb.
I give this story two snaps and a, what about the screams from the apartment? Until next time my fellow reader. Read on! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I've heard so many great things about this author so when I finally got the chance to read one of her books, you best believe that I jumped at it. Zero hesitation.
Now I'm regretting my decision because I want all of the books now lol. Bank account is not happy with me.
This book was everything I expected and so much more. I couldn't put it down once I started. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

I love all of Freida McFadden's books, I'm just going to be honest! The Locked Door was another no-brainer for me. I am always impressed by the twist and turns of her writing and she manages to keep me guessing. This one in particular was interesting as I wasn't sure who to trust and who not to trust - including our narrator. I would recommend this to fans of Ms. McFadden's previous writing, including the Housemaid Parts 1 and 2!

Let’s first start by saying I’m a big Freida McFadden fan. Any thriller where I don’t see the end/twist coming will warrant a 5 star review and The Locked Door did not disappoint.
I was so determined I knew who the killer was that I was starting to get disappointed in the book lol. I was pleasantly surprised.
As always I highly recommend this book and Freida McFadden if you love psychological thrillers.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishing house, and the author for allowing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I've been on a Freida reading streak. This one was OK. Not my favorite of hers but I'm glad I read it. It wasn't disappointing. I enjoy her shorter chapters and her writing style is easy to read.

Freida McFadden's books never cease to amaze me! I have read so many and yet they are all so different. The Locked Door was a thriller full of twists that I couldn't even guess. I love the way everything tied up in the end, leaving no loose ends.

When Nora was 11 her father was arrested for murdering women. Twenty-six years later, Nora is a surgeon keeping her past a secret.
I love it when a thriller has short, action-packed chapters and this one delivered! I wanted to keep reading just one more chapter to see what would happen next. I loved that I thought I knew the twist but I was wrong! The misdirections were well executed. I do wish there was a bit more character development though because I felt that I didn't feel as connected to Nora as I would have liked.
Overall I give it a 3.75/5. It was a good, quick read with a compelling story!

This is one of my favorites by Frieda McFadden! Twisty, thought-provoking, and entertaining from start to finish!
Thank you to the publisher!

Freida never disappoints!!! Her twists keep on twisting and I’m so excited for this book to become available for more people to enjoy in different formats! It’s the same locked door we all fell in love with on our kindle!
So good! One of my favorite Freida books!

4.5 Stars
Omg this book was so good, I literally could not put it down!
Nora is the daughter of a serial killer and is trying to live her life as a doctor far away from her past. This story was told in the present but also through flashbacks from Nora’s past. It was a great way to tell her story.
The end was full of twists and turns and really surprised me!
One thing I could have done without was the romance. I didn’t really but into it but I’m not sure I was supposed to.
There were also several some loose ends for me making me question if there will be a book two.
Overall I really loved this and I am absolutely loving Freida McFadden’s totally addictive story telling!

This was a great read, I enjoyed the twists of it. Although I did spot the red herring right away. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only reason I gave it a four was because I felt there was quite a plot hole in the ending. Otherwise it was very well written.

This is my second read by this author and it did not disappoint. This book was page turner. Everytime I read a chapter it kept me guessing and I was wrong the whole entire time. I really like how the author wrote this book as a mystery/thriller. You always wanted to know what was behind "The Locked Door".

Freida McFadden is now well known for writing super fast and enthralling thrillers - you will fly through her books and they are super easy to read. This one was the same! The book will keep you guessing til the end - and seriously worry for the main character and all the other characters.
I know that Freida is known for rewriting other thriller stories into a simpler and faster version for her patients, but they are enjoyable for anyone!
I recommend if you are in a reading rut and need a good thriller to get you out of it quickly that's easy to read!

I couldn't put this one down! Even though the story structure didn't necessarily feel unique, it was still very fun and exciting.

Of course Freida does it again! This book kept me up to the early hours of the morning, trying to piece together, who was behind the murders. I can honestly say that all of my rabbit holes and theory’s did not help me to figure out the ending. What an awesome Aha moment it was for me. That darn stray cat did have me jumping out of my skin a time or two though.
This book is about our morally grey FMC Nora who a surgeon who has been working hard to keep her past a secret. Because 26 years ago her father was arrested for the murder of 18 women. He was named the Handyman because all he kept of his victims were their severed hands. Her father held all of his victims in his “workshop” in the basement behind a locked door.
The trouble is Nora’s carefully hidden past has comes out to play when one of her previous patients is found dead. The trouble is this patient had dark hair and blue eyes the exact same type of woman that her father killed.
Now with a detective on her tail she’ll have to face the past she’s buried for years and the person that she’s become. With her dad locked up for life is this a copycat or something far more sinister.
5 reasons I tun you would read this book:
1. You love yourself a boss babe with some serious daddy issues
2. You love to stay up late trying to decipher red strings worth of …..hey look over here
3. You love a stray cat that knows a home when it sees one.
4. You love you a nosy neighbor …. Who has a lot of tea
5. You love a serial killer read
