4 solid stars!
When Nora Davis was eleven years old, she was busy doing homework in her room. Little did she know, her father was doing something terrible: killing women in the basement.
Years later, Nora's dad is in prison, and she has become a successful surgeon leading a quiet life. No one knows her father was a serial killer, and she plans to keep it that way.
But things change when Nora finds out one of her young patients was murdered in a way similar to her father's killings.
Someone seems to know Nora's secret. They want to blame her for the crime, but she's not like her father. The police can't accuse her of anything as long as they don't investigate her basement.
I've only read another book by Freida McFadden, 'The Housemaid,' and I have to admit that it didn't convince me, even though it's a favorite among many! However, I really enjoyed this one; it kept me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't stop reading it! This is the feeling that makes me love a thriller and consider it a good one.
It was addictive and fast-paced, so I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a page-turner. I can't wait to read more of this author's works!

I will not be giving feedback on this title as I did not get to read it. I will be reading it at some point but did not get to it. Sorry! I meant to start it but realized it was not a new release anyhow, just a new cover.

I've heard a lot about Freida McFadden, so when I saw this book on here I had to give it a shot. This is my first book by her, and definitely won't be the last - it was the right pacing, with a good buildup that kept me up at night. Will be picking up more works from her this year for sure!

I have enjoyed a lot of Freida books and tend to enjoy them all. This one did not disappoint but was not my favorite. As usual the twist is a shocker. And she will keep you reading and guessing.

This was my first Freida McFadden book and it definitely won’t be my last! I was hooked as soon as it started. I never saw any of the twists coming and was constantly looking to read faster to find out what happens. There were times I felt like I was yelling at Nora to do things differently. The ending was my favorite part especially since the twists kept me on the edge of my seat.

Thank you NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for letting me read The Locked Door. It was a fast and engaging read from start to finish. The Locked Door is a thrilling novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat with its smart twists and turns. Freida McFadden does an excellent job in setting the tone and the characters, making it a must-read for fans of the genre.

This book follow Nora in the present and when she was younger. Nora’s father is in prison for killing women but someone is stalking Nora so her secret is out. This is another great Freida book!

I've read a few Freida McFadden books, and The Locked Door is one I really enjoyed. Fast-paced right from the start, this thriller held my attention and kept me up late. There is a terrific twist near the end. Freida McFadden is an author I will keep coming back to for quick, thrilling reads. Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book.

The Locked Door by Frieda McFadden opens with surgeon Nora Davis having an old fashioned by herself at the local bar when she reconnects with an ex-boyfriend, who just happens to be the bartender. But soon after, Nora's patients are turning up dead, and it appears to be a copycat killing. Who knows her secret?
A huge thank you goes out to NetGalley for the Advanced Readers Copy (ARC) of The Locked Door by Frieda McFadden. McFadden had become one of my favorite authors, so when my request to read this book was approved, I was absolutely ecstatic. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.
Wow! This book kept me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't wait to figure out who was the copycat killer. I had it narrowed down to two different people, and it ended up not being either of the people I thought it might be. When the killer was revealed, I was absolutely shocked!
The main character, Nora Davis, was a bit hard to like, even though I know she was messed up from her childhood. I liked her well enough, but one of my favorite characters ended up being the stray, black cat. I was worried that the cat would be killed, and I am so glad that it survived. I am a huge animal lover, especially when it comes to cats, so any kind of animal cruelty in books (and movies) really upsets me.
I absolutely loved The Locked Door despite it reminding me a bit of Rachel Caine's Stillhouse Lake. There really isn't anything I can complain about in this book. Five out of five stars is what I gave The Locked Door by Frieda McFadden.

Wow, what can I say! Another great Freida McFadden book! So easy to read & as always my who done it continuously changed right up till the very end!!

Freida McFadden never disappoints! This was a very entertaining book. It didn't lag at all and had plenty of interesting twists and turns - some I saw coming, some I didn’t! A must read for all fans of Frieda McFadden or for anyone looking to try a new author!

I have read every Freida McFadden book there is and will continue to read any and everything she puts out. The twists and turns are unexpected and she hooks me in so easily. I read this book in one sitting because I needed to know what was going to happen.
Read this!

One of my top reads of the last few years. I appreciate the unpredictability and the twists that left me with my mouth wide open. I could not read fast enough!

This book was average for me. It was easy to read quickly and kept me entertained, but there wasn’t anything special to it. Our main character is fine, but the supporting cast is lacking. The plot is fine, but not particularly nuanced or unique. All in all a good way to spend the time but will likely be ultimately forgettable. If you want something quick and enjoy the idea of someone living in the shadow of their serial killer father then this one may be for you.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book.
Yet another amazing thriller from Freida McFadden. As the daughter of a serial killer, Nora Davies, has managed to restart her life, qualify as a doctor and live a successful life. That is until some of her patients start turning up dead, murdered in the same way as her notorious father. Is it a copycat killer or is her father on the loose again? Nora quickly finds that someone is trying to set her up for the murders and reveal her true identity.
This was a fast paced story, with several twists and turns as Nora tries to uncover exactly what is going on. Like with all Frieda’s books I sped through it desperate to know what had happened.

Another great thriller read by Frieda as an excellent follow up to The Housemaid. A page turning keep you on your toes book.

I cannot get enough from this author.
I loved this book, the characters were so dark and everyone was scheming their asses off.
This also reminded me a little of that TV show Prodigal Son
That show played havoc on my psyche and so did this book. Well done

3.5 🌟’s. one of those thrillers you read in one sitting (but are we surprised it is Freida McFadden after all). was a pretty slow burn at the beginning. i loved that there were so many people that you suspected did it. kept me on my toes and i loved that! a pretty dark read (serial killer, surgeon/gory a little, basement scariest) but overall a very fun, quick read.

Frieda McFadden is impeccable with how she writes her stories always full of twists and turns! Each book keeps me on my toes and guessing.
I could not put this one down!!
What a story, left me gobsmacked! If you haven’t read Locked Door or any of Frieda’s other books I suggest you add them to your TBR immediately because you will love them all!!

I get the appeal of her books. She wrote straight, direct packed punches of a thriller. For those who are looking for thriller with twists, just you mindlessly following the story you may like this. For me, it left something more to be craved as I wasnt as satisfied with the book.
Thank you to Netgalley and Poisoned Press for the e arc
