I have to say I do love a good bodyguard romance, although this one spun things a little. This time it was the heroine who was the bodyguard and let’s just say that the alpha hero was not good at letting himself be guarded 🤣.

Our hero is the son of a criminal mastermind and he is going undercover to bring down the network his father was a part of. He hires a female bodyguard to watch his back but they both end up watching each other’s fronts a little too much…..

Cynthia Eden does short and steamy so well. There is never any doubt that both main characters are 100% into each other and she does a great suspense storyline too! If you like instalove with some suspense then you need to check this out!

I love anything that Cynthia Eden writes!! And I’m glad I was able to read this book. Seth needs help and Harley is just the woman to do that. Except, there are secrets and when they come to light; things go sideways. Harley is definitely not happy with Seth, but they work together to bring down the bad guys. A lot of action and adventure with a few twists and turns await you through the pages.

Seth was the son of a crime boss. Harley was hired to keep him safe. Thrown in some bad guys, FBI agents and some brothers, and you have one great read that will keep you wanting more!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

A well-written, easy-to-follow storyline but with enough danger, twists, turns, and intrigue to please the adventurous audience and more than enough romance to please those who want love and happily ever after.

How To Con A Crime Boss by Cynthia Eden is book Three in the Wilde Ways: Gone Rouge Series. This is the story of Seth Wellington and Harley Adaire. Seth and Harley seem to be different people who should be together but when they start to have to work closely their pieces start falling in to place. Enjoyed this boo and I hope to read more from this author.

4.25 stars—HOW TO CON A CRIME BOSS is the third instalment in Cynthia Eden’s contemporary adult WILDE WAYS; GONE ROGUE erotic, romantic suspense series-a spin off from the author’s WILDE WAYS series. This is security specialists Harley Adaire, and heir to a criminal empire Seth Wellington. HOW TO CON A CRIME BOSS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Seth and Harley) HOW TO CON A CRIME BOSS follows our couple to NOLA, as Seth is hoping to gather information about his father, and the death of someone close to his heart. Hiring security specialist Harley Adaire is a bit of a distraction for our story line hero, a distraction that is about to become a target when our couple p*ss off the man in charge. Upon his father’s murder, Seth Wellington inherited the mantle of crime lord but Seth wanted nothing to do with his father’s organization but someone else is hoping to take control, and Seth is standing in the way of criminal domination. What ensues is the building but acrimonious relationship between Seth and Harley, and the potential fall-out as secrets, lies and double crossing agents threaten everyone involved.

The world building is detailed and complex. The number of players involved include dirty cops, crime lords, power hungry bosses, and plenty of acting all around. Seth is hoping to find the person responsible for destroying his life but he will come face to face with a past he knows nothing about.

The relationship between Seth and Harley begins as an assignment. Harley has been hired to protect our story line hero but Seth struggles with placing Harley in the direct line of fire when he discovers that his need for revenge has placed a target on the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top sexually graphic imagery language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are numerous and mostly not who they present themselves to be. We are introduced to crime boss Fabian Butler, and his right hand man Justin Florient, as well as Harley’s older brother, FBI agent Ford Adaire, and FBI agent Brent Marchello. The requisite evil has many faces.

HOW TO CON A CRIME BOSS is a story of twists and turns, secrets, lies and manipulation; family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is surprising and intriguing; the romance is provocative and steamy; the characters are desperate, determined and dynamic.

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy through Net Galley of How to Con a Crime Boss . I really enjoyed reading this story . It's full of suspense and danger and definitely a sexy story . It's all out fantastic . Seth Wellington is working undercover for the FBI acting like the crime boss his father had been before he was murdered . His goal isn't only to help bring down bad people . He also has his own agenda . Seth hires Wilde Agent Harley Adaire to watch his back . Seth and Harley are playing a dangerous game not sure who they can trust . Their chemistry and feelings may put them in more danger if there's such a thing . This story is action packed and intense not to mention Smoking hot . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

Well hello Seth! I loved this one. The chemistry between Seth and Harley had me fanning my face. There is a ton of suspense and action. The tension is high. Twists will keep you guessing. The romance is sexy and steamy, there's also the right dose of humor. Cynthia Eden does romantic suspense right.

I am so loving these "How to" books in this spinoff series by Ms. Eden! I'm finding that I enjoy her snark and comedic dialogue as much as I enjoy the romantic suspense elements in her books. There are a lot of "laugh out loud" moments in this book which I've come to expect and totally enjoy in her work. This is the story of Seth Wellington -- is he the son of a crime boss or just pretending to be one??? That's one of many questions that will have you turning the pages of this incredible read. I couldn't stop reading it -- it pulls you in and keeps you engaged throughout. And I absolutely adored Harley! Her character as Seth's bodyguard is ingenious! There is an instant attraction between these two, but it was their slow burn romance and Seth's possessive, protective side toward Harley that I really enjoyed. Danger, intrigue, twists and turns, drama -- the perfect combination in any romantic suspense and what I always, always find in a Cynthia Eden book. Another 5+ star read. I'm very grateful to have been given an opportunity to read and review an advance copy of this book through NetGalley.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Wow, I could not put this book down! The chemistry between Seth and Harley was sizzling! The story that they had to live up to was a con but slowly they could see the pretend turning in to genuine feelings.

There was lots of action and drama as Seth was "taking over" for his criminal father but on an FBI con and things were not going to plan. Lots of twists and turns and you don't know who these two can trust and rely on.

Good thing Harley is a bada** who doesn't put up with Seth's agenda and makes her own.

Always looking for the next book in the Wilde world - they never disappoint!

So good!

Didn’t see that ending but loved it! Another amazing book by Ms. Eden that grabs you from the first paragraph and doesn’t let go. Fast paced and engaging with well written characters.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

Just when I think that Cynthia can't get any better she writes another book that ropes me in. This is the story of Seth Wellington who is the son of a crime boss and is working a sting with the FBI but he is in danger and the FBI are only worried about their case So he employs his own bodyguard and he didn't expect Harley Adaire a Wilde Agent. The attraction between them is instant and hot but danger is lurking al, around them Now Not only is Seth fending of the FBI trying to bring down his father but he is also falling for his bodyguard and he will do whatever he needs to in an effort to keep her safe even if that is supposed to be her job to protect him. Get ready for a fast paced fun ride with a growing body count that will keep you totally engaged

How To Con A Crime Boss is Wilde Ways: Gone Rogue book three. At first I wasn’t sure about this one by Cynthia Eden who write incredible romance suspense. I just wasn’t sure about the crime boss role. I had nothing to worry about Seth is definitely not a villain. He is however, playing a role at times. Sometimes you have to trick the real bad guys. Posing as his girlfriend, Harley Adaire does exactly that too while actually being his bodyguard. She is one of my favorite Eden characters now. I love the role reversal from the norm with this smart, tough, sassy, lovable lady.

There is all the action, suspense, danger and romance that one comes to expect from a Cynthis Eden novel. The writing is fresh the ending perfect and just one all around great read. There is much more than the title gives you in How To Con A Crime Boss, so read today.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another engaging and suspense filled addition to the Gone Rogue series. Seth Wellington needs protection and remembers the first time he met Harley Adaire, his Wilde protection agent. At least he remembers after the effects of being tased, by her, wore off. Now she is posing as his girlfriend while he tries to straighten up the mess his life has become. His father was a monster, a murderer and some believe he will follow in his father’s footsteps. He is actually working with the feds to try to bring down one of their most wanted criminals, but he has his own agenda as well. Harley is tough and excellent at her job…to keep Seth safe while trying NOT to fall in love with him. Of course, as she gets to know the man that might be more difficult than she thought. Seth has a way of surprising her in how well he can handle himself, his self-control and the ability to even scare her at times. When a member of her family gets involved, things really get Wilde! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Steamy con....

You know, Cynthia Eden is fast becoming a favorite author of mine.
Why? Smart, tough, strong, fearless women, in this case, Harley Adiare. The bodyguard Seth wants to protect at all costs. She's his bodyguard. A true femme fatale who has his back 24/7. Harley is one helluva bodyguard. Seth is the son of a crime monster. Seth's running his own con, amidst the con the Feds are running. Lot's of double crosses. But i figured out one baddie right away that the others didn't see coming. Steamy enough to do the deed right before a show down. Seth is protective and all into Harley from the get go. Smart man, he just can't help himself when it comes to Harley, his bodyguard that he wants to protect.
Highly recommend. Read it in one go.

Just when you think this author can’t get any better she does!! This story was so fast paced and crazy you can barely put it down.

Seth Wellington is the son of a crime boss roped into doing the FBI’s sting. They aren’t looking out for him only themselves.

Color her impressed. Seth had been holding back on her.

Harley Adaire is a Wilde bodyguard hired by Seth. This woman is snarky, tough as nails, and a bodyguard with many hidden talents.

“You are the best thing that has ever happened to me,” he breathed.

Danger is everywhere. The attraction between these two is 🔥.

Harley straightened, staring at him with the gold bright in her eyes. Looking at him like he was some kind of freaking hero.

Im really hoping we get to hear more about Harley’s brothers

How to Con a Crime Boss is the 3rd book in the Wilde Ways series and brings us Seth and Harley's story, a complete stand-alone read. It's a fantastic, action-filled pageturner where romance and suspense are nicely balanced. There's fun and laughter amid steamy scenes and life-and-death situations, loads of surprises and quite a 'wow' moment at the end. It sure kept my pulse rate up and my heart racing! Can't wait for the next adventure.

Seth and Harley are so different and yet have experienced some of the same tragedies in their lives. Cynthia Eden always lures me in with her characters and this time was no different. Plus, she's always a master at writing seriously steamy love scenes. There was plenty of action to keep me hooked on the storyline and I also was consistently surprised by the twists, turns, and ending to the book.

Seth definitely isn't a villain, but he is the son of a crime boss, so he has some pretty shady connections thanks to his father. And like Harley, he also witnessed his mother killed in front of him when he was very young. So you can rest assured there is also plenty of angst in this one! Harley is the epitome of tough. But she's had to be in order for the clients of Wilde to rest assured they can trust her to protect them. There isn't much she can't handle. But this book is a thrill ride of experiencing her attempting to handle Seth and her attraction to him.

If you haven't read the other books in the Wilde Ways: Gone Rogue series, I definitely recommend that you do. But I also recommend that you read all of the books in the Wilde Ways series as well. Getting to see minor characters that were introduced in a previous book get to be the stars of their own books is something Cynthia Eden does amazingly well. This was an incredible book and I can't wait for another in the series!

How to Con a Crime Boss (Wilde Ways: Gone Rogue #3) By Cynthia Eden
Cynthia has done it again - another fantastic book in this series. Seth and Harley are quite the pair - he is the son of an evil crime boss, and she is the bodyguard he hired from Wilde. Both of their mothers were murdered in front of them when they were very young. There are so many feels, angst, danger, murder, some laughs and tears, suspense, not knowing who to trust and lots of steam to get to a very HEA. This was an edge of your seat great book.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Tragic Tear-jerker Entertaining Steamy Unpredictable Wonderful characters Informative Scary Romantic Happily Ever After Easy-to-read Page-turner Witty Action-packed Great world building.

If you like generic mafia/crime boss books then you will probably enjoy this.

I expected it to be a little different with the FMC being the bodyguard for the MMC, but it felt very similar to other books in the genre.
