I really enjoyed this book and the narrator. It was a well written, fast paced thriller. I have to admit I didn’t love the final chapter from the daughter’s perspective. I felt it kind of undermined some of the revelations before that. But over all it is a good book with an incredible narrator

Unfortunately, this audiobook didn't work for me. I pretty much didn't like any of the characters and I especially hated Jane's kids. It helped that the narrator used a different voice for each character to make it easier to tell them apart. However, I didn't like the way the story was told. The story itself was a typical missing child crime mystery, which is why I am giving the book two stars.

Naomi asks her friend, Jane, to pick up her young daughter from school last minute. Jane arrives to find someone pretending to be her has already picked Florrie up. The Other Mother follows the stories of Jane, Naomi, and their families as they race to find Florrie and uncover lots of family secrets.
This was a quick listen, but not the most thrilling book. I found parts of it hard to believe, like how the school would let Florrie go off without checking the ID of the person picking her up, and the storyline of the person who kidnapped her was a little out-there. The daughter’s diary entry at the end tied up some loose ends but seemed kind of random and I wish that her anger towards her mother had been explained more in the book.
The book had different voice actors for each POV, which I love in audiobooks.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

ARC audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.
I really like the multi cast narration on this book! It was very clear, concise, and easy to listen to for hours! The plot is about a four year old girl that goes missing from school one day when she’s picked up early by the wrong person. There are a whole lot of twists and turns in the story, most of which I never saw coming. I enjoyed how it came to a conclusion and look forward to more books by this author. If you’re into psychological thrillers this might be perfect for you!

My only complaint about author Miranda Rijks is she doesn't write fast enough. She is an auto-buy author for me, and I was thrilled to get the audio arc of The Other Mother from Netgalley.
This book is every parent's nightmare - when a child goes missing. And even worse, when it happens in broad daylight under the supervision (or lack thereof) of the daycare center.
I was drawn in immediately, felt the fear, had an increase in my own anxiety, and continued this way through the almost 9 hour ride.
There was one twist after another, and I once again failed in my attempt to guess the ending. I guess that's why I'm the reader, and not the writer.
The Other Mother releases on 8/10/23 and will be perfect for the beach.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
This was a great listen. A mothers worst nightmare, her child missing, and a group of very messed up friends.
With friends like these who needs enemies?
Great job at keeping my interest and wondering the connections everyone had.
Great narration as well.

Thank you, thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to listen to this audiobook. The narration was spot on and I was hooked from the get go..
Any parents' worst nightmare is the abduction of their child. That is the premise of this book. Little Florrie goes missing from school. Jane, a friend who was asked to pick up the child early from school arrives and is told that Florrie had already left with another woman.
A somewhat close knit group of friends comes to the aid of Florrie's mom and one by one thin layers of skin are peeled away. I found the book kept my interest with the intrigue generated by the author. Well done!

Wow! This is one convoluted group of friends. It’s always a gripping tale when a missing child is involved. Just when you think it couldn’t possibly be any more complicated, another layer is peeled back.
I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook version of The Other Mother. Although I really liked the story and I’d give it a 4/5, I was not enamoured with the execution of the narration for the audiobook.
Thank You to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook version of this this ARC.

I really love fun and fast thrillers and I’m always looking for new authors. I’m so happy I found Miranda Rijks. This was my first book by the author but it won’t be my last.
Jane is asked to pick up her friend's daughter from school. When she gets there the school told her that someone who said they were Jane already picked up Florrie. Jane's life starts to unfold and she is doubting everyone around her. From the opening chapter right up to the end, this book moved fast and was entertaining.
When I got to the conclusion I immediately started looking through Rijks books trying to pick out what book was next. I loved her writing and how she choreographed each twist in this book, and there were many twists.
Check out this book right away!

Good twists and turns. The story flowed well and the characters were well developed. I recommend this book and look forward to more from this author.

Thank you Netgalley for the advance audiobook copy of The Other Mother by Miranda Rijks in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book. I love listening to these type of books at night. They are fun, intriguing and thrilling. When a little girl goes missing, who's behind it and will she be found in time? Secrets are exposed and no one is who they seem.

Many thanks to Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for an audio ARC of The Other Mother for an honest review.
This twisty psychological thriller kept my attention from start to finish. It follows Jane who was supposed to pick up her friends daughter from school and take her to a dentist appt. When she arrives, she finds out that they had sent her with another woman, saying her name was Jane. And the race is on to find little 4 year old Florie.
The narrator did a great job also.

Twist after twist, this audiobook kept me on the edge of my seat with its fast-paced narrative and a surprising ending!
Jane, a psychologist, receives a shocking request to pick up her best friend Naomi's 4-year-old daughter, Florrie, from school. However, when Jane arrives ten minutes late, the staff is stunned because they claim Florrie was already picked up by... Jane herself?
The impossible situation unravels as it becomes clear that someone has stolen Jane's identity to take Florrie. But the mystery deepens further as the little girl goes missing.
From the very beginning, I was completely hooked by the well-plotted story. The unexpected developments of both the plot and the characters left me in awe, with jaw-dropping moments throughout. The complex relationships between the unlikable characters, filled with themes of trust and revenge, kept the tension constantly thickened.
The brilliant use of three narrators added to the suspense, particularly when one of them spoke in an Italian accent, brilliantly bringing to life the character of the annoying mother-in-law.
Overall, this book is a gripping rollercoaster ride, and I couldn't put it down until I discovered the shocking truth behind the disappearance of Florrie. If you enjoy thrilling tales with an array of twists, compelling characters, and a touch of the unexpected, this is definitely the book for you. Narration was really compelling. #TheOtherMother #NetGalley.

I loved The Other Mother! It's a great mystery.
Jane is meant to pick up her friend's daughter Florrie from school one day, but she arrives late only to find that the little girl has already been picked up by another Jane. Was it a mix up by her mum, or is little Florrie missing? There's so many twists and turns. Different suspects pop up and you're left questioning what's going to happen next.
The end was very unexpected. You'll never suspect the true culprit!
Thank you for the audio ARC!

Twist after twist, fast-paced and surprising ending!
Jane was a Psychologist and one day she was asked to pick up her best friend Naomi’s 4 year-old daughter Florrie from school. Jane was 10 minutes late to school. The staff was shocked because they said Florrie was picked up by….Jane?
No wait, that’s impossible. Who stole her identity to pick up Florrie. But why…?
Florrie was missing….
The story was well-plotted. I was hooked literally from the beginning of the story. The story and the characters developed in an unexpected way. Jaw-dropping. The complicated relationships between the unlikable characters, trust and revenge kept the plot thickened.
Three narrators helped to create the tension. Especially when one of the narrators spoke in Italian accent which perfectly presented the annoying mother-in-law character very well.

This is an incredibly readable psychological thriller. It is fast paced, dark and the twists... oh boy, the twists! I love the way the author drops crumbs along away. And I also enjoyed peeking inside everyone's houses and seeing the effects it had on people's relationships after a local child goes missing. The audiobook narrator did a great job bringing this story, with a slew of characters, to life. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for an ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I could not stop listening to this book once I started it! It is such a great listen. Naomi asks her friend Jane to pick up her daughter from school and take her to an appointment and when Jane gets to the school she finds that someone else had already picked up Florie! This story has twists and turns you won't see coming. Definitely recommend this book. The narrator does a great job!
