Kiersten is found dead in her own backyard at her own party surrounded by her very closest friends. But who did it? Her death is not an accident. It's a story of rich women, female friendship and secrets. There are POVs from both the past and the present. All the characters harbor secrets and were possible killers. With friends like these, who needs enemies?
The characters were well developed, and the twists abound. The end had me in shook! It wasn't my favorite thriller but I will definitely pick up another Lucinda Berry book in the future.
3 stars.

I was excited about this because I like Lucinda Berry but I found the plot to be too similar to other recently published titles in this genre. The writing was more juvenile than I would have liked.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC. I always look forward to Lucinda Berry's books, and this was no exception. This was a quick read, and I did not see the ending. Fun, fast thriller.

This story was okay. Not my favorite by the author.
Keep Your Friends Close started out really good and then got a tad convoluted towards the end.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was very intriguing. I was hooked and wanted to know answers. I truly was in it and was trying to figure out who did and what everyone was hiding. I was ready to give this 5 stars. I was wanting to read and not stop and couldn't wait to pick it up again. I flew through it and was invested. I just ended up having a personal issue with a twist at the end. If you haven't been touched by it it won't effect you and I guarantee this will be a great read but it was something that I didn't think fit in with the story line and was just randomly added in at the end and I didn't feel it needed to be there. It was just a random added story. If it had just ended before that last twist I would have thought this was a great book and given it 5 stars!

When Kiersten McCann, president of the West Hollywood Moms’ Club, turns up dead in her own pool, it quickly becomes clear this wasn’t an accident. And the party guests―all members of the exclusive club―are now key suspects in her murder. Accusations fly, and three mothers find themselves at the center of the investigation. Whitney, Brooke, and Jade all have heavy secrets to bear…and possible motives for their friend’s murder. But as the police look closer, more secrets, betrayals, and sinister plots are revealed than the women could ever imagine. With everything at stake, deceit threatens to shatter their illusions of the perfect life. West Hollywood will never be the same.
Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas and Mercer for giving me an advance copy.

I typically love this authors work but this one fell short for me. I found myself annoyed with and bored of the rich elite Beverly Hills persona. I’ve seen great reviews and I’m really glad others enjoyed it!

Lucinda Barry is always a hit for me! I personally love thrillers based around groups of friends packed full of lots of drama, so this book really ticked off the boxes. The multiple POVs never got convoluted or confusing; they helped the story unfold and ratchet up the suspense because you never quite knew who you could trust. I read this in just a couple of sittings and absolutely loved it!

Eh. It was ok. I think I was hoping for a bit more of a challenge to figure out how it would end, and I found none of the characters relatable. It held my interest long enough for me to finish it but that was it.

It was a good read. I loved the plot and everything. But they were so many subplots it was hard to keep track of it.

Unfortunately, I was unable to download this book before it was archived and so am leaving this as a review/explanation as I didn't know what else to do after finding a few books I had managed to miss in a section of my account entitled Not Active: Archived, Not Downloaded; so I thought it best to clear it up. I have already bought a copy and will leave a review on places like Amazon, Goodreads, Waterstones, etc, once I've completed it and formed my thoughts on it. Apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for the opportunity.

Keep Your Friends Close is a guilty please of a domestic thriller! West Hollywood moms with lots to hide & a fellow mom ends up floating in her own pool at a party? Yes please!

Thank you so much to Lucinda Berry, Thomas & Mercer, and NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This story was over the top and filled with twist and turns that didn't really make much sense, but fit somehow in this story. It shows the ugliness of fake friendships and what "keeping up with everyone" can become under extreme circumstances. It overlooks commonsense and the results of really bad decisions made.

This is a soap opera made disguised as a murder mystery with all the possible outcomes it creates. It was a quick read, with a bit of skimming in between pages as the red hearing was predictable (and heart breaking).

Lucinda Berry is the queen of the dark mystery. When a wealthy mom-group in LA loses one of their own in what is seemingly an accidental drowning it creates ripples that become waves among each woman's family. As it becomes clear Kiersten's death was not just an accident and the police are focused on the close group of moms everyone is a suspect. Secrets tie these women together and threaten to destroy them. This is a fast-paced read that you will stay up late to finish and the twists will keep you guessing and questioning everything you thought you knew about these characters. Pick this one up today, turn the lights on and make sure you don't have these kinds of secrets-otherwise you'll really need to Keep Your Friends Close.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

I loooved the Desperate Housewife's premise - and I am a huge fan of multiple pov's....but there was SO much going on in this one it was hard to keep track of all the sub plots. The ended felt so thrown together and very disjointed.

I enjoyed this book! However it wasn’t my favorite out of all of them. I had a hard time getting into it at first. Around 40% through is when it really captured my attention. The plot twist was SUPER good.

First off, I loved the cover art on this one. It drew my eye immediately and made me want to know more.

Marketed as "a fast-paced thriller about how one woman’s murder unravels the tangled web of lies and deceit connecting a group of Hollywood elite", Keep Your Friends Close was an inside look at what goes on behind the curtains of the rich and bored.

Unfortunately, I just couldn't get into this one. It's not bad, I think I'm just getting tired of the "rich housewives getting into trouble" genre. But if that's your thing, then you will definitely enjoy Keep Your Friends Close.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
