4 star Review Lonely For You Only (A Lancaster Novel) by Monica Murphy

This is Tate Ramsey and Scarlett Lancaster, and it was an enjoyable read. I’m not a huge fan of YA/NA but I enjoy Monica Murphy’s writing so here we are.

After sharing a kiss after her party and it goes viral, Tate and Scarlett embark on a fake relationship to benefit them both.

These two could not be from more different backgrounds but sometimes the heart is attracted to someone who is totally opposite. When lines are crossed and fake becomes real, it will complicate both their lives.

I fell hard and fast for Tate, the bad boy who has finally got his life in order. From start to finish I was drawn into the story that Ms. Murphy wove.

It is well written, full of angst and at times emotional. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley

Lots of angst and tension with a slow-burn romance!!

If you want an angsty enemies-to-
lovers vibe Scarlett and Tate bring it in this one. There is a slow build-up to their story before it heats up.

Scarlett Lancaster is by far the most overlooked Lancaster. She's shy and sometimes naive to most things for her age. I think it gives her a little more of a relatable feel at times. I loved she wanted to have her own name not just be the daughter of Fitzgerald Lancaster. With a unique opportunity to get out from under her parent's name or known as just the Lancaster heiress, she finds herself agreeing to a fake relationship with an ex-boy bander with a troubled past and looking for a second chance with his new muse. Look for a bit of a sort of hate-to-love romance between these opposites attract.

Tate Ramsey a down on his luck ex-bad boy of a boy band finds himself getting a second chance in the music world from a birthday performance and kiss from one girl he's not sure is more than a spoiled rich girl. With a surprise suggestion from his label, he needs Scarlett more than he realizes as this fake relationship blooms into so much more and has both of them trying to navigate the ups and downs of fame while falling in love.

So if you want a slow-burn romance with all the ups and downs of fame while falling in love in an opposite attract vibes this is your book. Jump back into the world of Lancaster Prep craziness once again.

Overall: 5/☆☆☆☆☆
Spice: 🌶🌶

This was my first Monica Murphy book and I wanted to like this because I’ve heard amazing things about her other books, but the story was just off and I found myself frustrated while reading. I found the daughter / parents relationship extremely weird and very immature on the parents end. Her parents knew nothing about Tate (ex boy band rockstar) other than he was famous, yet wanted her to “play games” with Ian by dating Tate. The storyline just seemed very shallow to me and Tate gave me the major ick. This book is labeled erotica, and this is not erotica at all unfortunately.

This book dives deep into the life of an artist rising to fame(in this case a second time). It had many eye opening details about the daily struggles of the artist like song writer blocks, journalist/paparazzi harassment, alcoholism and vandalism. The author also discusses marketing stunts, scripts & schedules given to the main characters?? Like bro, let me live my life the way i want to!!🥲

What to expect:

Strangers to lovers
Rockstar x Heiress/Influencer
Obsessed FMC & MMC
Fake Dating
Forced proximity
He falls first she falls harder

What i did really love about this book is that the characters always seemed to be on the same page in everything and had maximum respect for one another, they were so in sync that both characters mainly just fell in love at the same time.. they both get obsessed too🥰🥰

Also i freaking love Scarlet’s parents!!! Just GOALS

A 4 ⭐️ read!!!

Lonely For You Only by Monica Murphy

Scarlett Lancaster has loved Five Car Pileup since she was 13… For her 18th birthday her father surprised her with having the lead singer sing for her at her party, little did he know Tate Ramsey was the reason the band broke up and Scarlett no longer listened to their music. One photographed kiss changed both of their lives. If you love the fake dating trope this book is for you.
I love Monica Murphy's books and I love fake dating. I really enjoyed this book and will be purchasing a hardback copy soon!

Wow, I was in a reading slump but this book saved me!

It was so addictive since the beginning and it has some of my favourite tropes so, yeah, I couldn’t put it down.

“Then I remembered I was the one who was stuck with him for the next six weeks, and I forgot all about my jealousy. Because that’s what it was. I was jealous. Feeling downright territorial. For the next six weeks, Tate Ramsey belongs with me. To me.”

I could see myself in them so I really liked the main characters: Scarlet and Tate.
THEY HAD A FAKE RELATIONSHIP AAAAA - my favourite trope EVER.
I also liked her parents - they always supported her and tried their best for her - and her best friend- who was always there for her too.
There are other characters that I DISLIKE so much but I will not talk about them because I don’t want to give you spoilers.

But guysssss, you need to read it. It was so cute, and the way they fell for each other… oh and it has a little spice 👀

““I only just met him last night,” I remind him.
“And you’re already dating him? That’s my girl.””

I swear, it is a great book to read if you are in a reading slump because it’s easy to read and really fast. And of course, cute.

Thanks to Valentine Pr, Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read such a good book.

Lonely for You Only is a fantastic read. I loved this one. This is Scarlett's book. She has her heart set on one guy and never saw Tate coming. Tate a reformed bad boy band member is looking for his second chance. He never saw his muse coming. Scarlett and Tate are delicious together as they navigate their fake to real relationship. I love the growth between Tate and Scarlett. Scarlett is so supportive of Tate. They have this almost effortless relationship as they spend more time together. I could not put this down. Go meet them now.

The fake dating story with fantastic writing. Scarlett's journey from privilege to finding her true identity. Tate's redemption and emotional depth. Chemistry and emotions make rooting for their happiness easy. Sweet romance with solid plot and fun tropes. It was also dual pov what I really enjoyed. I picked this book up and couldn't let go!

MONICA MURPHY HAS DONE IT AGAIN!! This book was a fabulous, swoony, and funny. I literally laughed out loud while reading it because these characters just have the most funny banter and are super relatable. This book was definitely a diffrent vibe then the Lancaster prep series so dont be fooled by Scarletts last name. However, the angst and spice is still there. I love Scarlett, she's a super relatable, well written, funny, and strong female character. It was fun to read about her good relationship with her parents (rare in the Lancaster world) and her best friend Rachel. Tate is also a good character, he is more of a laidback smooth character then some of the other men in Monica's books.

The plot of this book was A DREAM COME TRUE! FAKE DATING IN THE PUBLIC EYE?!!! sign me up. Tate is a washed up has been trying to stay sober and just get through life. Once a famous boy band member, its been a long time since he last performed. But when a certain Lancaster man makes a offer he cant refuse, he ends up agreeing to perform at a birthday party. For her 18th birthday party Scarlett Lancaster was expecting Harry Styles, maybe one Direction, but definitely not her childhood crush, Tate Ramsey from Five Car Pileup. She's not thrilled, but the audience loves him. When the two finally meet face to face, they clash. However, the paparazzi is watching them fight, and in a attempt to make them look good, Scarlett kisses Tate. Soon they are all the media is talking about and Tate's getting offers from his old producer. Tate's dream just might get a second chance, but theres a clause, he needs to be dating Scarlett.

I would totally recommend this book. The writing, plot and characters are amazing!
Thank you to Monica Murphy, Valentine PR, and Net galley!

This is a very entertaining book. I was fortunate to receive an ARC of this one, and am glad I took the chance on this author.

Tate and Scarlett have good chemistry, and even though they enter into a fake relationship, (that we all know isn't going to stay that way) I enjoyed the slow burn between them.
Things take time to get steamy, but the support they extend to each other is enough to keep the pages flipping, until they give in to their desires.

I voluntarily leave my review, and I recommend this read.

I was super excited to receive this arc as I have been a huge fan of Monica's work.
Unfortunately Lonely for You Only didn't quite hit the mark for me.
The enemies to lovers, fake dating, rockstar, heiress tropes made me scream in excitement, however I struggled to feel any type of connection between Scarlett & Tate.
The ending felt too quick considering. I loved the first 120ish pages but then it started to fall flat for me.
Not her best work but still an ok read.

Thank you to Netgalley for this ARC. All thoughts are my own.

This is my first read from Monica Murphy, and I wasn't let down.
Our story centers around Scarlett Lancaster, a rich heiress, who lives under her parents' constant shadow. It starts at her 18th Birthday party, Her father hires Tate Ramsey, a washed-up member of the pop group five-car pileup to play. Everyone goes wild for him, and somehow they end up backstage in a compromising position, and the kicker? It's been photographed.

On comes the fake dating trope, but ends up falling in love for real. This is one of my favourite tropes, and it worked well in this story.
I enjoyed the banter and playfulness between Scarlett & Tate, and also that they were there for eachother, and believed in them. They both needed that person.

it was a quick easy romance read, although I wasnt used to reading younger mains, as i'm usually reading about adults / older people, but this was a sweet way to put my foot into the world of Monica Murphy's writing.
I will definitely try more of her books in future.

Scarlett and Tate start fake dating after this washed up boybander is booked to sing at her 18th birthday party. What could possibly go wrong with a fake relationship covered by actual legal contracts? This was a slow burn love story, and I found myself wondering if these two were ever going to hook up and fess up to liking each other. This is another story in the Lancaster family, and we get a quick glimpse into the other family members. I didn't dislike Scarlett, but she was not my favorite female character in these books. Tate was exactly who I thought he would be. A fast read about first love.

Love these Lancasters!

My Review ⤵️

Gotta love Monica doing what she does best! This story is just another branch on her Lancaster family tree, and it is practically perfect.

Scarlett and Tate’s story is what all good romances need to be. It’s emotional, it’s charming and it’s a little steamy. This is a slow burn for sure, but if it was written any differently would have ruined this story and I’m glad Monica wrote it the way she did.

A rock star and an heiress what could possibly go wrong? Monica’s take on the tropes in this story is what makes her perfect at what she does. A total stand alone makes it the perfect place to start if you are new to Monica Murphy. I love this world, I love these characters, don’t miss out on this one!

First and foremost, Thank you to Valentine PR and Monica Murphy for this ARC🫶🏻

Enemies to lovers and Fake Dating are two of my favorite tropes. Monica Murphy never disappoints and I ate this up.

What do you get when an Heiress and a has been ex-boy bander enter into a fake relationship? I’d tell you, but that would spoil it😉

I adored Scarlett and Tate’s story and I have no doubt you will too🖤

“It’s true. Every song. Every lyric. Every word. It all has to do with you.”

Loved the story line, and how everything turned out. Just wasn’t a fan of how Scarlet acted at times(who hasn’t acted like a kid still at 18) But overall was a pretty good read!

It’s so great being back in the Lancaster world but with a new set up. This book is definitely more on the New Adult side of Monica Murphy’s writing, but it shows how well she bounces between the different types of writing.

I love Scarlett, she’s so young, hopeful, and just has her whole life in front of her. You can tell she’s trying to figure everything out and meeting Tate changed her life for the better because Ian would have been the worst for her. Tate has changed his life for the better and meeting Scarlett is just icing on the cake, she’s so supportive of his dreams and they work so well when attempting to have a fake relationship!

I did really like Tate and Scarlett together and celebrity romances are one of my favourite tropes, and who doesn't want a famous singer writing songs about them.
I love and read anything that Monica releases.
I love the Lancaster family so much, they are one of my favourite families written. Also loved the past characters brief appearances.
It was a good fake dating book and a quick and easy read which I love.
I love the lancaster series and I did really like this but I felt it was a bit underwhelming compared to those. I know it's not a requirement but I would love to see into their future in a epilogue.
I am intrigued and looking forward to reading what comes next from Monica :)

My Rating: 5/5

My Thoughts: This is a fun and cute fake relationship romance book. Scarlett and Tate's relationship is a bit unconventional, but they fake their relationship so well. Scarlett comes from an extremely wealthy and well-known family. Lancaster's are everywhere haha. Tate was an it-boy back in the day, a total heartthrob in every teenage girl's dream. Circumstances that neither of them thought they would be in lead to their meeting. They are adorably cute together. Tate is boy-obsessed while Scarlett is a bit more reserved at first. The character growth throughout this book was perfect. This book contains a boy-obsessed, rich good girl, a dash of spice, a fake relationship, an overprotective father who would do anything for his daughter, and a little drama. I highly recommend this book.

Tropes:
🩷YA/ New adult
🎤 fake relationship
🩷forced proximity
🎤 Enemies to lovers
🩷dual pov

This is the return to the Lancaster world. On Scarlett 18th Birthday her dad throws her a big birthday party and hires Tate to be a surprise guest and singer at the party. The MMC, Tate , previously was a singer in a boy band but has his own past, use of drugs, alcohol and a fiancé that cheated on him with his bandmate.

After being caught on camera together, Scarlett and Tate enter into a fake relationship deal while he works on his new album in LA.

Overall , this book was a quick cute read. I’ve loved all the Lancaster books this one I felt was a bit under those just due to the fact not a deep storyline. Still a very enjoyable book.

Thank you to Valentine pr for allowing me to read in advance
