Je n'ai pas toujours aimé de la même façon les différents tomes de cette saga autour de la famille Lancaster et je pense que celui-ci fait partie de mon top 3 . J'ai vraiment apprécié ma lecture ... A votre tour !

Foncez !

Scarlett is from a wealthy family. Her dad surprises her for her 18th birthday with a performance from her teenage crush Tate. Tate and his band were popular. But alcohol and drugs broke up the band. He’s spent the last couple of years working on himself and getting clean and sober. But he can’t refuse the offer that Scarlett’s dad gives him to perform at her birthday party. This is a slow burn, fake dating trope.

𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 by Monica Murphy had it 𝐀𝐋𝐋 — (light) angst, enemies-to-lovers vibes, fake dating, slow burn (and that’s just to name a few) — and I loved every 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 second of it! This story 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 me from the very beginning and it gave me the 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 case of 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒎 𝒇𝒖𝒛𝒛𝒊𝒆𝒔 as inhaled all the words of this 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 love story! A 𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒄𝒌 and 𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 read that you won’t be able to put down.

Tate Ramsey, ex-boy band member of 𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐮𝐩, books a gig singing at heiress, Scarlett Lancaster’s 18th birthday party. What he never expected was that it was going to be the gig of a 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 — one that would launch him back into stardom after an unexpected kiss with the birthday girl. There’s just one 𝒔𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒎 — the whole world thinks they’re in a relationship. If he can’t convince her to go along with this 𝒇𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 facade — then there’s 𝐍𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 that his career will take off again…

Can they convince the world that they’re in 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 or will their 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕 be exposed? 𝐀𝐍𝐃 — what happens when their 𝒇𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑, soon 𝒃𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒔 into something 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 when 𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒍𝒚… Will they make it or will they end in 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌? You’ll just have to read 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 to find out (and trust me you’re going to 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 it)!

Although this story is 𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 part of the 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞, it’s 𝒐𝒏𝒆-𝒐𝒇-𝒂-𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒅 and in a completely different 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 then the 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩 series. Whether you are a fan of the 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 or a new Monica Murphy reader — you’ll love this 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 and 𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒅 storyline. I couldn’t help but imagine how 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕 it would be to fall for the ex-boy band member that used to hang the walls of my bedroom growing up 😍.

The cover of this book was gorgeous and drew me to it. This was a a cute YA romance, but I couldn't connect. It was just ok. There was nothing memorable about the story, the characters or the plot to me. It was advertised as erotica, yet there was barely any spice. The characters were well-developed, especially Tate, but it was difficult to connect to connect to them.

Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for an ARC in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.

I have to admit, at first I didn’t feel any chemistry between Scarlett and Tate. And Scarlett’s wide-eyed, naive view of the world was off-putting. Obvious statements being met with “what do you mean?” just had me rolling my eyes.
But, I forged on, hoping these characters would find some common ground and maybe I’d see that spark. It didn’t come until later in the book, after many wishy-washy moments (mostly Scarlett’s).
I then found myself more interested and rooting for their fake relationship to turn into young love.
I was on the fence between 3 and 4 stars so I gave it 4. The last half of the book was much more scintillating than the first half.

Lonely For You Only is a sweet rockstar, fake relationship story that I loved reading. This author is one of my favorites when it comes to sweet, emotional romance reads. The writing is always excellent and each book is a must read. I loved this couple and their journey to true love. Read this!

I would recommend it.

Tate is trying to reconcile his image as a singer and Scarlett is part of the elite Lancaster family. When her father hires him to perform at her birthday party, things become interesting for the two. They get caught in a compromising situation and it sparks an idea for Tate. The two start fake dating to help heal his image and things become jaded when lines get crossed.

I love Monica Murphy but this book was very YA for me. I couldn’t find anything relatable with the characters.

Tate Ramsey, a former member of the boy band Five Car Pileup, was hired by Scarlett Lancaster’s father to perform at her elaborate 18th birthday party. Tate has a troubled past but is now on the straight and narrow and when Scarlett & Tate are caught having an argument at the party, Tate doesn’t want to ruin his reformed reputation, and kisses Scarlett. From there, Tate’s life begins to transform in a positive way. His performance at Scarlett’s party along with being caught kissing Scarlett Lancaster starts opening up doors for him in the music industry and Scarlett is along for the ride.

Throughout this book there are moments of growth, self-discovery, new beginnings, and transformation portrayed that kept me intrigued! It was a little hard to relate to since I’m not rich nor am I famous, but I thought it was an enjoyable angsty, slow burn read with younger characters!

Lonely For You Only by Monica Murphy was a great romance story!
My first time reading anything by Murphy and now I’m making it my mission to read her backlists.
Monica Murphy created some great characters here.
Scarlett and Tate were relatable and everything they go through was just very realistic.
Lonely For You Only was everything I could possibly want in a NA romance. It was sweet, swoony, and perfect! Tate and Scarlett were absolutely adorable together.
Such a fun fake dating romance.

Thank You NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

I could not stand the female main character right from the start. I felt like she was way too immature for my liking. The tropes in this one were RIGHT up my alley....but they way that it all came together was very meh. There were a lot of moments throughout that gave me the ick. Maybe if Scarlett was older it would be have been more enjoyable for me?

If you're expecting another Lancaster book here, you're right and you're wrong. You're write about the opulence, the unexpected sweetness, the once in a lifetime fall - it's exactly a Lancaster book. However, this is a much lower angst and muuuuuch slower burn than the other books in the Lancaster extended universe. It's adorable. It's the appertif between courses that will keep you ready before the next saucier book.

On a personal level, Tate Ramsey's story really hit for me. Not the addiction that he struggles with, but the idea of wasting chances, balancing freedom with the price of success, worrying about achieving dreams and fear of hurting the people around you. It makes you root for Tate and see him the way that Scarlett sees him: like someone who deserves the second go round, and is worth believing in.

Of all the Lancasters we've met, Scarlett is the most innocent, borderline naive. She's constantly in the shadow of her family, especially her parents, and is trying to figure out who she is and to find a way to show it to the world. I kind of wish her social media savvy had been played up even more, or more directly acknowledged. When Scarlett gets caught up in the whirlwind of her fauxlationship with Tate, it was refreshing to see a character who was true to herself, her innate goodness, while also giving in to what she wants on her own terms.

This is a sweet couple that will make you smile, a resolution that's swoony, and enough sass when it's needed to make you giggle.

I totally fell in love with Tate and Scarlett. Both have insecurities about themselves and each other but they power through it all and emerge stronger tougher.

It’s Scarlet’s 18th birthday and her parents are throwing her the party of the year. When her dad says he landed a musical headliner that will blow her away she’s shocked when it’s the washed up lead singer of her favorite dissolved boy band. She’s even more surprised when he needs cover from the paparazzi and she offers her lips.

It’s a kiss that goes viral and opens the door for him to finally get his second chance at a solo career but the record label will only take him on with Scarlett as a part of the deal. With nothing to lose he has to convince her to act as his faithful doting girlfriend.

Tate was such a relatable character with his fear of failure and imposter’s syndrome as things finally started to go right. His love for Scarlett was downright swoony. I mean who wouldn’t want the kind of guy who will write an entire album about his feelings for you.

This is a serious slow burn though! I kept thinking things were going to heat up and then they’d put in the brakes. But when the steam does hit it was definitely worth the wait.

If you love reformed bad boy x good girl, fake dating, rockstar romance, with a coming of age vibe then I think you’ll really enjoy this one too!

While I enjoyed the storyline and thought the romance was great, along with the spicy scenes, it was just a little too young adult for me.

It was very well written and definitely had you guessing what was coming next. But I definitely won’t read another book with such young characters. It’s a lot harder to relate to being twice their age.

Thank you to NetGalley, Blackstone and author Monica Murphy for this gifted copy in exchange for a honest review..

I love the Lancaster family book series. I really loved Tate. Scarlett I felt could have been more but I did like her. The storyline was very good and developed. I love Rachel and Scarlett’s dad Fritz. This is a feel good read. I would like to read about the parents love stories.

It should be a crime how quickly I read this book.

While reading it I felt an emotion that hadn't happened to me in years, I had deja vu from when I read fanfics years ago and the nostalgia and happiness it brought me will make me never forget it!

The book follows the story of Tate and Scarlett, she´s the daughter of a powerful family that we would easily call old money, for his part he´s a singer who was at the top with his band for a time, at least until he fell into vices and everything fell apart.

For her 18th birthday party, Scar's dad decides to hire Tate knowing that she loved his band years ago, what neither of them expected is that it would end in a kiss that would surprise them, and not only them, but also everyone after a photo of the moment went viral, what is the best option? PRETEND THEY ARE DATING

To say that I was excited while reading the book is an understatement compared to all the emotions it made me feel, the chemistry they had from the beginning, the secondary characters adding a plus to the story, and not to mention Scar's parents! I LOVE THEM!

Tate definitely stole my heart, she goes straight on the list of my bookboyfriends and Rachel being a true supportive friend was everything.

Please read this book for a better life

LONELY FOR YOU ONLY (e-arc) REVIEW
4/5 ★’s

swoon. swoon. swoon, you guessed, some more swooning 🤭 when i first dived into this book, i went into it with very high expectations because all i’ve ever heard were great reviews about Monica Murphy’s writing. These expectations were more than surpassed. The minute i dove into this world of lancasters, I was entranced. By this setting, these CHARACTERS, these pieces that all combined into a perfect puzzle that is - this book. Scarlett, a young heiress living under the shadow of her family’s wealth and expectations. Tate, a washed up has been boy band member who thinks life is absolutely over for him. The two meet, and well, the rest is history, perfect history.

Our fmc, Scarlett Lancaster is one of those characters that if they were real i would engulf her in the biggest hug ever and go out for coffee with on a weekly basis. A selfless, loving, shy and unware of all of her potential young lady who lives with a day to day fear of being stuck under her family’s name and money without anyone ever seeing her for all she has to give. Not only is scarlett such and adorable character because of how selfless and naive she is, but of how loving and caring she is deep inside, for her family, her friends, and of course, for tate. Her approach to love is wary and cautious, afraid to detail again for someone who led her on without any warning or explanation. Her development fuses with tate’s own personal growth, and in the end both of their paths on the way to becoming better people, better lovers, are all done hand in hand.

In regards to our mmc, I always feel like i naturally pull towards the fmc in a book simply because i’m a girl and can relate to the pains and struggles they feel. But, tate ramsey really got me in this book. I’m in such a chokehold with this man, that i simply can’t. He’s not your typical perfect gentlemen who swears all he wants to do is love the fmc from the start. Tate feels like a real guy in front of you who is simply telling you the truth and loving you every step of the way. He’s so honest, open, blunt, but at the same time - hopeful, faithful, loving, selfless, and most of protective and gentle with his scar (iykyk) 🩷 His fall to a poor and suffering man who went through personal struggles mentally & physically along with massive substance abuse (please check trigger warnings before reading!) who in the beginning lives in a humble living home and writes songs in his bathroom simply because theyre the quietest place in his home, is something so fascinating? adorable? to me? I love the fact that he’s not your typical rich, all in power, book boyfriend. He’s simply a 21 year old man who made mistakes, endured a lot of pain, and still has the most selfless heart and soul. Tate, it’s me and you forever bae 🥹

All in all, i adored this book, the only reason i gave this one a four instead of a five was just because i wanted MORE! I felt as if the ending was a bit rushed and could have been explained more in depth more in regards to the sequence of events. I also would’ve loved to see more of Tate and Scarlett as an actual couple, doing everyday couple things after they established their feelings, that would’ve really solidified a perfect 5 star for me because these characters were some of the best i’ve ever seen. Absolute praise to monica murphy, this was such a perfect palette cleanser; and one that i’ll be thinking about for a very long time to come.

Lonely for You Only by Monica Murphy, Scarlett Lancaster is ready to celebrate her eighteenth birthday, she is determined to make this an unforgettable day not only because it's her birthday, but she wants to attract the attention of the one who has been her best friend, but she's always been attracted to, and everything seems to get even better when her father tells her that he hired a famous pop star and former boy band member to play at her birthday party. But to her disappointment the star her father said was not who she thought, but her father hired Tate Ramsey, former singer of the band Five Car Pileup, which has not been popular for years. Tate, after years of alcohol- and drug-fueled partying, is sober and ready to return, so he takes this opportunity with both hands and gives a wonderful performance, although the birthday girl doesn't seem at all impressed with him. So at the end of his performance he follows her and when he sees a photographer sneaking around to take a photo of them he asks her not to argue because the last thing his career could stand is appearing in some tabloid arguing with a Lancaster so surprising them both Scarlett decides to kiss him, and it is precisely because of that kiss that goes viral and the video of Tate singing at the party that soon both of their careers begin to present themselves with incredible opportunities, so they both agree to establish a fake relationship, but soon what begins as a lie starts to feel very real, but in order to get what they didn't know they needed, both must face their demons and insecurities to find the path to true love.
This is a sweet story where these beautiful characters grow and evolve, full of sweet and funny moments, their relationship evolves with the story and allows us to get to know them and fall in love with them. A fabulous story to add to this series that you should not miss. Highly recommended!
