Dirty Thirty has a little bit of everything: a jewelry store heist, a demon stalker, a couple firebombs, and of course, the love triangle between Stephanie, Joe, and Ranger.

The series is pretty formulaic, with a main mystery, and Stephanie and Lula getting up to their usual antics, as bail bond enforcement officers, in between, but it works. The mystery in Dirty Thirty was creative with plenty of twists and unexpected surprises along the way.

What I love most about these books is the humor and there is no shortage of that. Bob the dog steals the show with his neverending appetite and Stephanie and Lula’s friendship is put to the test when they become unexpected roommates.

The book ends on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait to see what happens in book number 31!

I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own opinions.

I have been obsessed with Stephanie Plum and her crew since One for the Money, and I was not let down by Dirty Thirty. It's the only book series that can keep me excited and smiling from the first page to last. Except when Morellli is involved, I'm firmly team Ranger.

The book is just a fun read with a vast array of unique characters that will make you love them.

When I was notified through NetGalley I received an early review copy of Janet Evanovich's next Stephanie Plum novel, Dirty Thirty, I barely managed to keep myself from calling my mom to gloat. We both love this series and I was NOT disappointed by Dirty Thirty. In fact, I think it helped move the series back up on my list as it got me re-excited for the drama, antics, relationships and craziness that weren't as present for me in the past few books.

Dirty Thirty brings back our favorite bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum, as she works to figure out not just the current mystery in front of her, but her professional and personal lives as well. The ongoing triangle with Ranger, Stephanie, and Morelli continues to take new directions and leaves you on the verge of thinking you know what's next. Stephanie, Lula and friends manage to somehow survive, if not thrive, in finding the bad guys and avoiding major injury, while keeping you entertained. One of the stronger books in the series lately, I look forward to seeing what's next and how long the series can continue to thrive.

A solid 4.5/5 stars

Three cheers for Dirty Thirty! So, here's the deal. Should I be tired of reading about Stephanie and Lulu's adventures? Probably. But am I tired of reading about bail bonds, car damage, her love triangle, Bob the big fluffy dog, endless greasy and yummy food, and Ranger? Nope. No, I am not. These books are like brain candy, and I look forward to the annual installment for what it is; the chance to relax and rewind in the world of the Burg. This one mainly involves a few robberies that might be connected. Stephanie and Lulu use their wonderful brand of law enforcement and humor to get to the bottom of it. As always, I smiled my way through this read, and was bummed when it was over. Until next year!

I was looking forward to the newest Stephanie Plum adventure. Sadly, I think the adventures are becoming too formulaic with names and crimes changed. It has been quite a while since I’ve read anything new and different about her. I wish I had a more positive review, but it is essentially the same thing I’ve read many, many times over the last 30 books.

The ending may have saved the book, leading to a cliffhanger of sorts, but I’m not optimistic the story will continue without the same ol, same ol.

Thank you to NetGalley and Atria Books for the chance to read and review this novel.

Thirty! Thirty Stephanie Plum stories! While some have been a little lacking, this one brings Stephanie's personal life to the forefront and we are left with one heck of a cliffhanger!

It's another typical Stephanie installment, full of quirky bond captures and dangerous capers as she works to earn enough to pay the next month's rent. This time Morelli is out of town and she is forced to rely on Ranger to help her solve her latest mystery. Add in a trip to Maine and a bag of missing diamonds, and it's clear that Stephanie has her hands full. Add in two big questions, and readers are left waiting for the next installment to see which direction Stephanie will go next. But only if she doesn't get blown up first.

Thirty books in and you think I would be bored of Stephanie Plum but nope I am here for all the zaniness that comes with each book. I always enjoy the interaction between Lula and Stephanie and the crazy characters they have to bounty hunt but I felt like the romance was lacking in the last few books. This one was unfortunately the same, in my opinion no spice. There was finally a bit of movement in the relationships at the end but is it really? I guess we will have to find out in the next book. 3.5 stars for me due to the repetitiveness of the plots over 30 books but rounded up because I enjoy Stephanie too much.

Stephanie Plum always has a horrible luck. Something always happens to her apartment and her vehicles. While I do love these books they do seem to keep getting repetitive this book got me out of a reading funk.

Stephanie and Lula character has not changed through any of the 30 books. What I was hoping for with the last book might actually happen. I will always read these books.

I was so excited to read this. Have read this entire series. I was bored and a little disappointed in this book. It finally started to get good in the second half of the book. The ending was what I have been hoping and wishing for all along. I’m not sure if this is the last book in the series but if it was it ended well.

The latest book in the Stephanie Plum series brings back all of our favorite characters. There are of course car bombs, fugitives, and doughnuts. Stephanie and Lula get involved in zany antics while chasing FTAs. If you are looking for a familiar series, this is great.

Dirty Thirty is the 30th book in Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series. It is a fun and fast-paced read full of action and humor. I have read all of the books in the Stephanie Plum series and this one doesn’t disappoint.

There has been a jewelry store robbery and Stephanie is hired by the owner of the store to find the robber. At the same time, she is trying to find the man who is on the run after being arrested for the same robbery. Lulu thinks she is being stalked by a demon. Morelli is on business trip so Stephanie is babysitting his dog, Bob. Bob cannot be left alone, so he accompanies her everywhere. As Stephanie searches for these men, her mom and Grandma Mazur get in on the action. When things get tough, Stephanie turns to Ranger for help. At the end, there is a bit of a cliffhanger. I cannot wait for the next Stephanie Plum book to find out what happens!

Evanovich is at her best again! Dirty Thirty (as well as her last two books, Game On and Going Rogue) has a good plot and mystery. Unfortunately, for a while, her books had been lacking. I am so happy to be loving this series again! I highly recommend this series to readers who like a mystery full of wacky characters, action, and humor.

Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for providing me with an advanced review copy in exchange for an honest review.

Book 30! This series is a staple in my life and I love every single one. The whole gang is back - though Morelli is out of town for most of this one - and there are FTAs to apprehend and a mystery to solve. Reading a new Stephanie Plum book is like catching up with an old friend. Humor, mystery, and action. 5 stars all the way.

Dirty Thirty (Stephanie Plum Book 30) by Janet Evanovich
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / Pages: 332 / Genre: Women Sleuths

Bounty Hunter Stephanie Plum is on the hunt for Duncan Dugan, who jumped bail after being caught for robbing Martin Plover’s jewelry store. She is then hired by Plover to find her former classmate Andy “Nutsy” Manley, who was his security guard and who he thinks stole from him. And all while this is going on, Stephanie’s boyfriend Joe Morelli is out of town, leaving her alone with irresistible Ranger to help her out with her case and give her a place to stay while her apartment is otherwise occupied.

I love this series! It’s one of my favorite comfort reads. And I loved all the Ranger action in this one! The love triangle between Ranger, Stephanie, and Morelli is getting mighty complicated. I love it!

Thank you @NetGalley and @AtriaBooks for the advance copy of this book. I can’t wait for Book 31!

Grandma Mazur: hilariously inappropriate since 1994 :)

I can't remember when I first read a book from this series, but it was probably close to when it began in 1994. Even back then I wanted to grow up to be an old lady just like Grandma Mazur :)

The love triangle trope drives me absolutely bonkers (if, after 30 books, you still can't decide, neither guy is the right guy) but the rest of the characters are so endearing they more than make up for it.

Lula is my second favorite of the bunch (after Grandma Mazur, obviously) and I also loved this dialogue from her:
"Maybe you had a panic attack."
"No way. People of my persuasion don't get panic attacks," Lula said.
"What's your persuasion?"
"I'm big and bold. I used to be Presbyterian, but I decided to change over when I was in high school."
"So big and bold is like a religion?"
"You bet your ass," Lula said. "It's a belief, you see what I'm saying?"

❤️💪🖕❤️

This series never lets me down. It’s always lighthearted and entertaining. Fans of these books will love the 30th just as much as the 1st.

Everyone’s favorite bumbling bounty hunter is back and still struggling financially and still torn between her relationship with Morelli and her attraction to Ranger. Yes, her back and forth seems to be “same old” in every book – but it was fun to watch. Of course, her quirky sidekicks, Lulu and Grandma, were back, too.

At the heart of the plot is her search for Nutsy – clearly outside her bail enforcement responsibilities – and a high value FTA. This time there was a bit more of a mystery to be solved, including the murder of a homeless man, which gave the tale more of a purpose than some earlier books in this series.

Overall, an enjoyable read, that combines a touch of romance, a touch of humor and a touch of mystery.

FTC disclosure: I received an advance review of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This has not affected the content of my review.

“I’ve never slept with another man’s dog.”

Okay, we’re back to Evanovich at her best and it’s a true pleasure! Plenty of slap stick comedy, action and Bob. Stephanie, Lulu and our regular friends, minus Morelli who’s away on assignment, with a array of new zany characters make sure there is never a dull moment in Trenton this time around. And that cliffhanger? I’m already counting down the days to see how that one plays out!

3.5 stars

In this 30th book in the comical 'Stephanie Plum' cozy mystery series, the bail enforcement agent is hired to find a diamond thief. The book works as a standalone, but familiarity with the characters is a big bonus.

****

Stephanie Plum works as a bounty hunter for her cousin Vinnie's bail bond business in Trenton, New Jersey. Stephanie and her sidekick Lula - a voluptuous former ho - are comically inept at picking up bail jumpers, but usually get the job done in the end.

As the cozy mystery opens, Stephanie needs extra cash, so she takes a freelance job from jewelry store owner Martin Rabner. According to Rabner, he was robbed twice in the same day. First a bail skip named Duncan Dugan robbed the jewelry store's display cases. Then the store's security guard, Andy Manley (aka Nutsy) absconded with the diamonds in the safe. Rabner offers Stephanie $1,000 to track down Nutsy, and Stephanie agrees.

Stephanie and Lula set out to round up bail jumper Duncan and security guard Nutsy, but things are more complicated than usual. Stephanie's boyfriend, Joe Morelli - a handsome Italian cop she's known since childhood - is out of town, and Stephanie is babysitting Joe's BIG orange dog Bob. Bob eats furniture and car seats if he's left alone, so Stephanie takes the dog everywhere with her.....even when she's chasing down criminals.

There are suspicions that security guard Nutsy's diamond heist was connected to the mob, so - as usual when Stephanie needs extra help - she calls Ranger. Ranger is a gorgeous Cuban-American hottie who runs a security service called Rangeman. Stephanie thinks of Morelli as her REAL boyfriend, but she's also very attracted to Ranger, and she's always waffling between the two men.

While Stephanie is looking for Duncan she comes across his friend Sissy, who has a soft spot for the inept bail jumper; and Stephanie's pursuit of Nutsy leads to his mother Celia, a nice woman who has a house full of foster cats.

As the story unfolds, there are hospital escapades; veterinarian visits; trips out of town; cozy times with Ranger; attempts to catch bail skips; canine Bob's hijinks; and more. And as always, Stephanie gets her car wrecked; gets her house bombed; and gets a gun pointed at her.

As all this is going on, Lula becomes convinced she's being stalked by Grendel - a demon and man-eater who sneaks into her bedroom and steals her clothes. Stephanie's hilarious family makes an appearance as well. Grandma Mazur and Stephanie's mother - who drives a car like a Nascar champion - help Stephanie chase Nutsy on a motorcycle. It's also fun when grave robber Simon Diggory tries to help Stephanie find the body of a murdered man.....in an 'unconventional grave' of course.

To add to the revelry, there's plenty of tasty food in the book, such as chicken salad on croissants; egg potato salad; chocolate cake; donuts; smoked salmon; deviled eggs; bagels; pastrami sandwiches; organic beef-flavored kibble; and more.

This a good addition to the series, a must read for Stephanie Plum fans.

Thanks to Netgalley, Janet Evanovich, and Atria Books for a copy of the manuscript.
