Poor Jaicey has a piece of her life that she can't remember. The time was when she was fifteen so that when Jaicey meets Braydon, she is fearful and shy and doesn't know why. Braydon pushes her buttons in an attempt to get her to open up.
Jaicey's parents are worried as well as her friends and for some reason that makes no sense, all the mirrors in the house have vanished.
However that unknown entity presents a dangerous possibility to Jaicey's life, and as her memory starts to return, her life in put in jeopardy.
This was a fast listen, great for my am walks through the park. There were some surprises even though you might has suspected the villain in the tale.
Thank you to Kiersten Modglin, Dreamscape Media, and NetGalley for the ability to listen to this tale of suspense.

This one just wasn’t my kind of thing, and I hate that because I love Kiersten Modglin. This one just wasn’t for me

I requested this one because it might be an upcoming title I would like to review on my Youtube Channel. However, after reading the first several chapters I have determined that this book does not suit my tastes. So I decided to DNF this one.

This book was just okay for me. I was a little confused about things, but once pieces of information were revealed later on in the book, it started to make sense. Because of the confusion, I kept feeling like I needed to go back and re-read to make sure I didn't miss something.
I was able to guess part of the twist. Even after the person behind everything was revealed, the "why" behind it all didn't really feel fully explained.
I listened to the audio version of this book, narrated by Tara Sands. I enjoyed her performance for the most part, but I do wish she would have changed her voice more for all of the different characters. Some of them ended up sounding really similar.

The Missing Piece was such a great book and I highly enjoyed it on audiobook. I want to thank netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to listen to this arc.

The Missing Piece by Kiersten Modglin is now an audiobook narrated by Tara Sands. It was grand and KMod wrote a clever, suspenseful, mystery-thrilling that I couldn’t stop listening to. Tara Sands was a perfect choice to narrator this. She brought me right into it. The whole thing kept me captive and I find KMod to be one of my favorite authors. This was interesting, absorbing and powerful. If you’re looking for a mystery thriller then I highly suggest this one.
Thanks Dreamscape Media via Netgalley.

Wow - this was another Kiersten Modglin book that really blew me away. This was another one that reminded me of a Colleen Hoover novel and I loved every aspect of it. There was a real undertone of tension throughout the book and it left me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. The development of the two main characters was fantastic - perfectly done. I loved how this jumped between the past and present timelines and the bonus chapter was great and I wish she had incorporated it into the actual book. I was left completely shocked by the twists at the end. I did not see them coming whatsoever. I thought this was masterly crafted and I can't wait to read Kiersten's other new releases! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Mmmm. Not sure about this at all. Firstly, it should be labelled as YA in my opinion. Secondly, well.... it's a little far-fetched. Not terrible, but not great either. Jaicey is a bit spoilt and silly and Brayden? Really. I can't see it. But anything is possible, and I do like the author.
2 and a half stars, rounded down.

This book was so good that I read it in one day. It was thrilling, mysterious, and heart-wrenching. Modglin’s best book yet!

I enjoyed this story! I thought the narration was very well-done, and while I did guess most of the ending, there was a slight twist to it that surprised me!

I got 1/3 into this audio and was still trying to figure out, what is the point? What is going on? Who are these characters? It all seems very one dimensional to me. The story didn't draw me in enough by that point and I just always kind of felt disconnected from the FMC and the storyline for that reason.

Here we have a page turner! Very fast paced with it only being 200 pages. The loved the story idea and all the twists and turns. Especially the ending twist! If you enjoy this author, you'll definitely love this one!

I usually love Kiersten Modglin’s stories, but this one didn’t do it for me. I don’t think there was enough character development to feel anything for them.

I enjoy a good KMod book on occasion . I love how twisted and demented her thrillers can be. I requested this book now realizing that this one was YA and also not knowing this was an early work being rereleased in audio. I thought the book was satisfactory, although I’m generally not a YA fan.
The premise is that something had happened to Jaicey. She’s returned to her high school after a trauma that she doesn’t remember. The book really makes you wonder what happened, and why. Why are there no mirrors? And why are things so confusing?
Although the novella itself was 4 stars, I am rating the audiobook overall 3 stars. I really found the narrator difficult to listen to. She did try to create different voices and personas for each character.

Thank you so much to net galley and the publisher for sending me a copy of this book. I always enjoy Kiersten’s books, I was very excited to read a young adult book from Kiersten this time! It was very good, I really enjoyed it.

I received a copy of this audiobook from NetGalley for an honest review.
Not the authors best work but a great effort. I was expecting more twists from this book just because all the other Kiersten Modglin books I've read have been very twisty. But this book was a solid thriller. You don't know what happened to her but you know it was bad and that her memory is majorly screwed up and then there's the new boy in town. Can you trust him? I enjoyed the ride to find out the whole story.

I did not love this audio narration and I’m a huge Kiersten fan! The storyline was good, I just think the audio didn’t hit at times when it needed to give to the story.
I would still recommend this book to a friend.

"If you lie to yourself long enough sometimes it becomes real."
It's not that 15 year old Jaicey lies, it just "... sometimes you lie to yourself without realizing you are lying. It's a defense mechanism." The thing is why? Why the defenses? What's the reality? Whose reality is the truth? So much going on in the novella audiobook from thriller mistress author Kiersten Modglin.
The first lie is right from the start when Jaicey lets us know in this first person unreliable protagonist POV that she lost her Mom when she was 15 but in the next chapter we meet her mom. WTF?
As usual, this prolific writer gives us carefully placed clues that things are not all copacetic with Jaicey's life. There's her aversion to mirrors. None are in her home. Then her confusion why the popular kids are being nice to her like they were ever friends. But she's coming out of her aversion to people with the help of the new boy in school. He likes her. He protects her. He seems to know her.
Lucky for us the author is re releasing her earlier works on Audio and this was one of her first ventures into the thriller verse. Coming in just over 5 hours this quick story is delicately narrated by Tara Sands with such perfect teenage angst. When all is revealed the tension, fear, and intricate mental exhaustion is respectfully expressed in minute detail.
If you enjoy thrillers and haven't read or listened to Kiersten Modglin that is your missing piece for this genre.
I received a free copy of this audiobook from Dreamscape Media via #NetGalley for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape media for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
Modglin’s earlier books are being re-released as audiobooks. You don’t really need to double check the original publishing date to know this is one of her earlier works. It’s not a terrible book but it’s just not the same as some of her more recent books which are all really great.
Based on the synopsis I expected a book more about Jaicey’s trauma journey and facing what happened to her but in this case she just doesn’t know something happened to her which is just really weird. It was a confusing read and it’s just really unrealistic. Hailey doesn’t remember any of her former life but doesn’t wonder why or what happened to her? This one really wasn’t for me however some people do enjoy a confusing mystery and if that’s the case you’ll enjoy this one.

A page-turner!
Lately, Jaicey has been feeling as if she was missing something. Her parents and classmates have been acting weird. The popular kids who used to ignore her are acting all friendly. While her parents are tiptoeing around her as if they know something she doesn't. Not to mention, all the mirrors in her house are missing. Why? What are they hiding from her?
This quick read had me grasping for answers! The author did a great job of keeping the readers in suspense. Highly recommend!
***Thank you to NetGalley, Kiersten Modglin, and Dreamscape Media for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***
