I really enjoyed this audiobook and story. "Living My Best Life, Hun" is about London Hughes 's journey to stardom and her ups and downs along the way (a lot of downs).

I loved how London Hughes narrated this book, it felt like a podcast and she was very expressive. Her journey was also so interesting to follow and learn about since I knew nothing about her before this. Her experience was so unique and when it seemed like the world was pushing her down, she rose to the top.

(This book deals heavily with themes of bullying, sexism, and racism.)

Thank you to NetGalley for this audio ARC.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Being a massive London Hughes fan I could not pass up the opportunity to listen to her book and man did I enjoy it! London has never failed to make me laugh and this was no exception. I enjoyed listening to her tell her story of how she came up in the comedy scene. Whilst this is hilarious it also discusses how she struggled being a black woman in a male dominated field. I loved recognising areas that London talks about and I can relate a lot to the things she was describing when she was in school, which made me both cringe and laugh.

The selling point of this for me was London being the narrator. I think this could have only been told by her and she does an excellent job at storytelling.

London Hughes' book "Living My Best Life, Hun" is funny, resilient, and self-discovering. The author-narrated audiobook follows London from her unusual childhood to her hilarious fame.

London's brazen narrative style gets your attention right away. She discusses her highs and lows via genuine tales, showing that even unpleasant experiences may lead to greatness. Her book traces her career in the entertainment world and inspires women of all ages and backgrounds.

Hughes' humour makes every chapter relevant and hilarious. Her honesty about previous errors and failures enriches the story and teaches life lessons. The memoir encourages readers to accept their individuality, overcome obstacles, and succeed.

From bedroom Frasier fan fiction writer to brave and confident comedian, London Hughes' story is inspirational and amusing. "Living My Best Life, Hun" is a book on self-love, tenacity, and the idea that anybody can overcome life's hardships. London's contagious energy and humour will make you mentally high-five your inner badass.

I have to admit I'm one of the reviewers that did not know London Hughes before listening to this audiobook but now I want to? Her philosophy is great, and she's worked so hard to get to where she is now. Love a self-narrated memoir but there were a few points you could tell she's used to talking words to an audience (like a few breaks for laughter but as an audiobook the flow is different), and I appreciated the more linear narrative that happened (in comparison to some other celebrity written/read memoirs I've listened to this year).

Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Audio/Grand Central Publishing for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Phenomenal and funny as all get out! London Hughes does not hold back or hold out. She spills all the tea. I love her for her honesty. A career in Comedy is not for the faint of heart. A career in Comedy for a woman of color is a nearly impossible uphill hike while wearing a fifty-ton backpack, leg shackles, and your hands tied behind your back.
The book and story are excellent, but get this on audio if possible. The narration and the entire production, music, and editing are excellent. This is an entirely enjoyable listening experience.

I am grateful to London Hughes, Hachette Audio, Grand Central Publishing, and NetGalley for the chance to listen. Thank you.

Good book - doesn’t shy away from real topics, so is engaging. However, London Huges voiceover is really intense. It feels like someone is shouting their story at me.

Not a bad book, and if you’re a big fan of Hughes you’ll enjoy it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

London is so accomplished, experiences, and so, so, so absolutely funny. I had only known London from her appearance on Nailed It and she was so funny and charming on that so I knew this would be good but I didn't expect to love it as much as I did.

London is a star and I look forward to seeing and hearing more from her in the future.

Loved this memoir, honest and vulnerable. Dealing with misogyny and racism in England. I have fallen in love with London

Honestly, this was my first introduction to London Hughes, but it won’t be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story of London and how she became a comedy star after dealing with racism and sexism of the industry. Her story was real, raw, and at times relatable.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Having watched the author in Celebs Go Dating, the full personality and humour was displayed perfectly in the writing/audio performance.

I love that the life Hughes has now has been something she worked long and hard for. She's by no means an "overnight success" but what's clear from this book is that that is not for lack of talent or trying. America's entertainment scene gain truly is Britain's loss! She is exactly the kind of person I'd love to have as a friend!

I knew very little about London Hughes before listening to this audiobook, but I'm definitely a fan now! She's hilarious, and a great storyteller. The production was quite good, too. I was able to listen to this one at 1.0x speed without being irritated/distracted by how slow it was. There were also a few minor details that I appreciated, like changing up the word 'reader' to 'listener'.

I hate to say it but I had never heard of London Hughes before coming across this book. I will now remedy this by watching as much of her stand up as I can. I've also started following her on Instagram. I saw the title and the fun cover and somehow I knew that London would be an amazing personality.

In some ways, not knowing her was nice because I could get to know her like she was a stranger telling me her life story that was so interesting I couldn't walk away. I didn't know if she'd end up making her dreams come true. Her spirit and drive to fame is very inspiring and maybe more importantly, funny. I think she is someone that could talk about anything and make it interesting. I loved hearing stories from her childhood to how she became the super star she is today.

I loved the subjects in her story. The desire to want it all but not having it all and fighting to get even a portion. And the racism she faced daily while working in the UK. Hopefully her story has paved a path for other women of color to be heard/seen. She has used her platform to demand justice for many communities that have felt voiceless.

I usually listen to audiobooks on the speed 1.25. But London has so much energy and magic in her audio that I recommend listening to it on the normal speed. Any faster and you'll get too pumped up and probably do something reckless!

I highly recommend listening to Living My Best Life, Hun by London Hughes. Thanks to NetGalley, London Hughes, Hachette Audio and Grand Central Publishing. I have written this review voluntarily.

- Such an amazing message of empowerment and following your dreams, no matter what people say

- In terms of the audio book: London does an amazing job telling her stories with education and comedy, keeping audience attention till the end

- Women’s! Sexual! Pleasure! Thank you for coming to my TED talk

I absolutely LOVED this book! Before getting the chance to listen to this as an audio book, I’d never heard of London Hughes… Let’s just say I can’t believe I lived my life without her comedy!

London’s narration provides so much more of an inside look at her life and experiences as a black female comedian. Through all her ups and downs, she always managed to inspire me and there is so much I learned in this book that I will apply in my own life.

“Plot twist!”

Living My Best Life, Hun by London Hughes is a very entertaining memoir. I have never heard of London Hughes, but she made me laugh out loud so many times that I am going to find her and watch her specials. We are close in age so a lot of what she referenced in her teenage years I was able to relate to, which adds a level of comradery when listening to her. She talks about her family, exes, struggling to get into the business, and so many other topics with a levity that makes it engaging, even for someone like me that's never heard of her. Hands down, 5 stars!

As a side note, it is interesting to learn about how racist the UK is, seemingly more so than USA, which is eye opening and sad.

Thank you to Hachette Audio for providing me with an ALC.

I first want to start by saying this narrator is completely perfect for this book! Her voice and tone keep you hooked to listening the entire way through. I listened to this at a dark time in my life and it really helped to lift my spirits whenever I needed that.

I had no idea who London Hughes was when I downloaded this audiobook, but the title and cover were giving me amazing vibes so I took a chance on it. I don't know how much I would have loved the book if I hadn't listened to it cause I feel like London just really brought her words to life.

One of the main things I got from this book is that London has worked her ass off to become a comedian. Trying so many different ways to break her way into the spotlight and forging so many connections with people that ultimately has paid off. Sometimes it felt like things just fell into place easily for her, but in reality, it took years and years of hard work. It was a nice reminder that things may seem to just click but all the work that's been done previously is what led you to that moment.

As for London's dating stories. OMG. I'm pretty sure I was slack jawed for most of them. Especially her Vegas story 👀 I love the entertainment factor from her dating adventures, but I don't know how I'd be able to live through them myself!

Overall, this is really a memoir about working hard for your dreams. I really enjoyed listening to London tell us her story and I'm excited to see what other projects she'll come out with in the future.

I think I was just the wrong audience for this; I enjoyed London's narration, but didn't feel connected to the story and didn't really care what happened next? I'd never heard of London Hughes before receiving this ALC, so like I said I think I'm just...not the intended audience. And that's fine!
