The Moonstone Major
by Meara Platt

I love Meara Platt. The Moonstone Cottage once again works it's magic for Chloe Killigrew and Major Fionn Brennan. Falling in love with Chloe is the major's joy and pain. Growing up an orphan on the streets of London, what does he have to offer except himself. Chloe doesn't care if they don't have the wealth of her sisters and their husbands. Captain Arundel, the ghost captain, has his own ideas about revealing secrets that lead to Fionn's true birthright. I was expecting more conflict with Fionn's enemies, but everything in that direction was off the pages. Puzzling when you consider they made one show of hand.

Absolutely a fantastic book! So far the series has not been disappointing! The storyline and characters are great.

Um, I loved it but I want to know all the details of what happened between the last two chapters. I'm missing a whole year of information that I'm desperate to know what happened in. Bummer ending!

I really enjoyed reading your book. Fionn was a little repetitive for me, so I'm grateful for his lady's patience. Please, keep writing like this. I will love to read more of your books.

Moonstone Landing #3

Fionn and Chloe met in a previous book and three years later they are of an age that more than friendship could be on the table. There is attraction, chemistry, and caring but with the social divide between them, Fionn does not see a way for them to have a happy ending together. Chloe doesn’t agree with him.

What I liked:
* Lady Chloe Killigrew: youngest sister, creative, determined, wealthy, loves her family, attracted to and is in love with Fionn
* Major Fionn Brennan: in an orphanage till he lived on the streets, survivor, knows nothing about his parents, competent, intelligent, educated, and in love with Chloe
* Getting to see how Chloe’s sisters and their husbands are doing
* The ghosts: Captain Brioc Arundel & Aunt Henleigh – they definitely have personalities
* Lord Claymore: a good catch, has his eye on Chloe, would like to see him in a book of his own
* The town and how they rally around Chloe
* The mystery of Fionn’s past and what is eventually found out.
* Wondering what jobs the three street urchin friends of Fionn’s will be given
* That there was a happy ending for Fionn and Chloe

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Knowing that some people are willing to do despicable things to further themselves regardless of the cost to others

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.

3-4 Stars

The Moonstone Major is a great mixture of romance and mystery. This is the third book full in the series and I did not have any issue with understanding the chat and plot.

Though I am sure it would have been even better if I had read them and most likely will go back and find them. Fionn and Chloe belong together and I found myself rooting for them to find a way to be together and figure out WHO Fionn really is.

I did receive a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The third book in the Moonstone Landing series brings us the story of Chloe, the youngest of the Killigrew sisters. She is having much success in the elite society of the charming little seaside village. While there are any number of dukes, earls, or other aristocrats eager to court her, she seems to have her heart set on marrying the one person who keeps his distance from her, Major Fionn Brennan. There's no denying that Fionn is in love with Chloe, but being an orphan who worked his way up in the military ranks, he doesn't think himself worthy of someone like her.
This is a magical and emotional tale of angst and yearning that simply stole my heart. Fionn and Chloe were two characters I quickly became endeared to and was completely invested in their story. The storyline flowed smoothly and some good twists and turns in the plot kept me turning the pages, eagerly wanting to see what happens next. This has been a lovely series and I can't wait to see what fun the next one brings?

Sweet little romance that moved a bit slowly for me. This was the first in the series that I've read and sadly I don't think I'll be picking up any others.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for a chance to read this book.

The Ghost Captain Arundel and the Moonstone Cottage again offer up secrets and some answers for Chloe Killigrew and Major Fionn Brennan on their way to a HEA. While Fionn does not see himself as a worthy suitor for Chloe, Chloe has other ideas and seeks to prove to him that he is the only man she can love. They each have some obstacles along the way.
Loved Chloe and Fionn's characters, especially Chloe's determination to prove to Fionn how right he is for her.
Meara, I have loved this series, I would love for you to write a novel update 10-15 years later detailing the lives of the 3 Killigrew sisters and their families.

Mild descriptive open bedroom door.

The third sister finally gets her romance! I so enjoyed seeing her romancing her major. And the resident ghosts are always entertaining to watch how they push and tweak the couple. I so enjoyed the interactions. I do wish she would have expounded up on how the family was involved. But that might have made the book drag on. So I will be happy with how it was.
I received a copy for a completely honest review, which I strive to tell to others. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s blah, sometimes it’s funny or sad. I won’t give away the ending though.

Does the Major Have a Chance with the Lady?

Chloe is a lady, and she is in love with Major Brennan. He does not think he has anything to offer her, but she wants no one else. There is danger, mystery, and secrets, and the Major must uncover a truth that will change his life. This is an entertaining story. I recommend it to those who like Regency romance with mystery and suspense. There is even a ghost or two that interfere to help our major and his lady.

Lady Chloe Killigrew is now old enough to go to London for her season, but has no intention of trying to find a husband among the elite. She fell in love at fifteen and will accept nobody else.

Major Fionn Brennon is a street urchin who dragged himself out of the gutters. He doesn't even know his true name. No matter how much it pains him, he will never marry.

The ghosts of Moonstone cottage will make sure true love always finds a way.

This historical romance is the last of a series that follows the lives of those who come to the beautiful town on the seaside. A very romantic series filled with wonderful characters. I have enjoyed all of them. You don't need to read them all to enjoy any one of them, but if you intend to read the series they should be read in order.

Good fun.

The Moonstone Major is the third book in the Moonstone Landing series. This is the first one I have read in the series.

Lady Chloe Killigrew finds herself much being sought after in Moonstone Landing. The seaside village is a favored retreat for the London elite. The only one not paying attention to her is Major Fionn Brennan who is in charge of the local army fort on the Cornwall coast. Chloe lost her heart to him when she was fifteen. She hopes he will let her close enough to charm him into falling in love with her.

Major Fionn Brennan has worked his way up the military ranks, and that he is not worthy of her attention. He has grown up as a nameless orphan left to fend for himself. Chloe is determined to love him and hopes to find the truth of his beginnings that will bring him peace and come to her when he is ready.

The story is interesting as it talks about Fionn designing the first hospital in that area. I really enjoyed the storyline in reference to building the hospital, but the addition of the ghosts made it magical. The characters were strong and easy to like. Looking forward to reading the whole series.

Lady Chloe Killigrew, the youngest of the three Killigrew sisters, has a crush on Major Fionn Brennan, the commander of the local army fort in Cornwall. Fionn is a war hero with a dark past, who believes he is unworthy of Chloe’s love. Chloe is determined to break through his defenses and show him that he is the only man for her. But their romance is complicated by secrets, lies, and danger that threaten to tear them apart.

The Moonstone Major is a well-written and engaging book that will keep you hooked from the first page to the last. The chemistry between Fionn and Chloe is sizzling and sweet and their banter is hilarious, witty and charming, but their journey to a HEA is blocked by obstacles that they must overcome. I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone looking for captivating, wonderful couples to tell their stories. I voluntarily read & reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.

I have enjoyed this series, especially as each book Is a stand-alone, bringing love into the lives of three sisters who once had to fight for their very existence. Having met Major Fionn Brennan in a previous novel, he is a welcome addition to the series, especially as he and Lady Chloe Killigrew find their way together. Fionn has experienced even more difficulties than Chloe ever had, but he is nevertheless charming and his intelligence shines for all to see. I experience a certain amount of frustration at the apparent holes in the plot, although the author did fill them with something of an explanation, but I would have liked a little more detail. However, it would seem that the ghost of Captain Arundel could not be laid to rest until he has not only brought the couple together but also led them to much-needed evidence to ensure their future happiness. The novel is well-written and comes to a sweet conclusion. I received a copy of this romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

The emotion in this story made me cry, so beautifully written by Meara.
Definitely one of my favourites of hers.
Fionn is a character that’s had my attention since he first tuned up as a lieutenant, he’s much more fleshed and developed now, in so many ways.

His relationship with Chloe is beautiful and sweet, but many setbacks develop because of his social standing, and his lack of self confidence.
She’s an Earl daughter, he’s basically a street rat.
I adored this couple and I can guarantee you will too.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Lady Chloe Killigrew is surprised to find herself much sought after in Moonstone Landing's elegant society. The only man who seems to be paying her no attention is the gruff and irresistibly handsome Major Fionn Brennan who is in charge of the local army fort & is supervising the building of a hospital. Chloe has been secretly in love with him since they first met. Although Major Fionn Brennan worked his way up the military ranks, no amount of cultured upbringing will make him worthy of Lady Chloe. His heart aches to have her, yet how can he dare hope for a match when he was raised as a nameless orphan. If not for the viscount who chose to bring him home, he would probably be dead. The third Killigrew sister to have her story, whilst this story is easily read on its own, I’d recommend reading the whole series as a) it’s so good & b) the sisters are an absolute delight. I loved everything about this book. Chloe is a delight & steadfast in her love for Fionn, he is SO honourable & even though he loves every bone of her he thinks he’s not good enough. I loved their journey to a HEA it was heart warming, tender & emotional. I loved loved the mystery surrounding Fionn, Chloe was like a dog with a bone & wouldn’t let it go. The epilogue is beautiful & had me reaching for the tissues. The whole series was a delight but this is the icing on the cake
My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

REVIEW- THE MOONSTONE MAJOR BY MEARA PLATT @
Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for this ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
👫🏼👫🏼
This book had the most amazing MMC, Major Fionn Brennan. He was my favorite part of the book. His love for Chloe was so pure and genuine. I also loved that he didn't sleep with anyone even though they were not courting, something I've never ever seen in a romance.
👫🏼👫🏼
I also liked Chloe, she knew what she wanted and went after it. She loved Fionn and was not scared to go after him when he would not. She was definitely the rock of the relationship. Her relationship with Brennan was so cute and beautiful. I also understand why Fionn was unwilling to court her, but it was all straightened out in the end.
👫🏼👫🏼
This book was really good, but I'd have loved more insight into Fionn's past, I didn't really understand what happened by the end of the book.
👫🏼👫🏼
But, it was really worth it and I'd recommend it!

Oozes Platt's signature charm, warmth & heart; a sweetly magical romance!
Platt plunges you straight into the action, humour and pining heart of THE MOONSTONE MAJOR as she engages your emotions straight off the bat and continues to play them like a maestro. Hooking me so deeply into who her characters are, their dreams and the kindness and compassion that drives them as she sprinkles her uniquely sweet, magically romantic dust all over them.
Submerging Fionn and Chloe into an achingly yearnful tale of all consuming love shadowed by a push and pull need to feel worthy and overcome the stomach churning desire to jump the social barriers that divide them. As Chloe attempts to heal the painful hole in his heart that shapes his pride and seeds from his rough start as an orphaned street urchin and a soul deep need to discover who he truly is.
A beautifully simple plot unravels that delights on every sense that blends an emotionally touching and heartwarming journey to embrace their feelings...cloaked in the secrets of Fionn's birth, a suspicious accident and a love that has unfurled, deepened and captivated through a friendship that has spun the past three years as he has been drawn back to Moonstone Landing.
I knew these two would be perfect for each other from first meet and I wasn't disappointed! They left me with happy tears trickling down my cheeks and a smile emblazoned on my face as their romance delightfully brings the series round full circle.
I'm hoping this isn't the last we'll hear from this idealistic Cornish village. The Angels, Lord Claymore and especially Squirrel, Ducky and Muskrat are all screaming to be heard and have peaked my curiosity no end!
