Thank you so much for this title! A dramatic ride with interesting characters.

I actually listened to the audio and highly recommend reading it that way to fully understand each wife. Each character is unique and fully developed, likely due to having different writers for each wife. Each has a great contribution to the story with a mystery to unfold.

This is book is Goodfellas from the wive's perspective. It was fun watching as they went from frenemies to allies to friends. You can practically smell the hairspray and feel the fur coats as you are reading!

The premise was so intriguing, but in the end the book wasn't all that special. The positive for me was that there was nothing very violent or bloody, I tend to be quite sensitive so I like a non-gory mystery. I also liked the 80s setting. Beyond that, I was not very invested in the characters and while I normally love multiple POVs, this time it didn't work that great for me. It was just a little too over the top, too campy, and too predictable. I'm all for girl power but I guess I enjoy it with a little more subtlety. It was an ok read, but unfortunately that's it for me.

"Young Rich Widows" is a collab effort from Vanessa Lillie, Layne Fargo, Cate Holahan, and Kimberly Belle. The story is from four different POVs and you can definitely take the educated guess that each author wrote from one of the characters' POVs.

Now, the premise was entertaining. Four lawyers die in a plane crash. Now the mob is after missing millions and are willing to kill to get what's theirs. The widows, despite ill-will feelings towards, each other, must stick together to find the money and figure out what happened to their significant others.

This book was fine? Just fine. Nothing exciting. A little twist that I really didn't see coming but didn't have any stake in. I am indifferent towards this one, I suppose. I was lightweight bored but also, it wasn't the worst book I've ever read. It was just fine.

This one came out April 2 so if you're into mysteries with next to no gore or triggers, this one's for you. Mystery "lite", if you will.

Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht, wie ich dieses Buch bewerten soll, da ich es aufgrund relativ kurzer Ausleihdauer (ohne Verlängerung) nicht lesen konnte.

Thanks to Netgalley, Source Books, Kimberly Belle, Layne Fargo, Cate Holahan & Vanessa Lillie for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Young Rich Widows was a fun, witty, and thrilling read. I really enjoyed it, and I loved that it was set in the 80s.

The characters were all interesting and complex. I loved how they were all so different and yet they all pulled together to get things done. #GirlBosses

This was an ARC from NetGalley. I normally love Kimberly Belle's book so I was excited for this one. While it wasn't quite up my alley it was still a pretty good read.

This story takes place in the 80's. There's a plane crash and has 4 widows trying to figure out what exactly happened. this story was really good, I really enjoyed it.

I read this quickly. It had just the right amount of character building and intrigue. Loved that you could actually feel that you were back in the 80's!

Four partners from a law firm are tragically killed in a plane crash days before Christmas, and their widows are left to pick up the pieces - in more ways than one. As soon as the news breaks about the crash, the four women - Krystal, Camille, Justine and Meredith - assume that there will be decisions to be made. What they don’t realize is how deeply involved their spouses were with some very bad people - people they now owe millions of dollars to, and on a deadline. They’ve got to put their differences aside, work together and find out what the heck these partners were up to and how to make things right for themselves.

This was a really fun read. I loved the 80s setting, the mafia vibes, and the feminine rage. It was pretty kick ass! The story alternated between the POV of all four widows and while each loved their spouse, they found out disturbing information along the way. I love that they all teamed up together to seek justice, despite their differences and in some cases outright hatred for one another. Thank you to the publisher for my e-arc!

1980s mafia story with all the right pieces: wealthy entitlement, rags-to-riches Cinderella girls, high stakes gambling, cat fights, and shaky alliances.

When the plane explodes killing all the firm's law partners, the wives (who can barely stand one another) are left with the shock of dealing with the dark secrets that have been threatening the future of the firm and the partner's wealth and livelihood. As the women uncover one betrayal after another, they realize they have no choice but to work together to not only move on their lives, but to actually survive.

Good book about women who are stronger and smarter than men think. Also a good recommendation for those who like mafia-themed reads or who want to take a trip back to the 80s for a bit. It was a bit difficult to get the characters straight in my head in the beginning; it was almost like there wasn't a distinct enough 'voice' with each of the four main characters. It is also interesting this is marketed as book 1, but I didn't really feel like there was a big enough cliff hanger at the end to make me even really consider the possibility of this being a series. I loved the 80s nostalgia!

SO MUCH 80’S FUN!! I lol’d more than once and was also intrigued by the story. The characters are snarky, and I loved how they progressed from enemies to friends, given the predicament they were in. Each of the four authors wrote one of the main characters, and they blended meticulously. I cannot WAIT to read the next book in the series.

The 80's are alive again! What is better than 1 thriller writer? 4 thriller writers! This collaboration is amazing and I hope to see more works in the future.

Fun, over the top, and a perfect fabulous read. I read the actual book version (which came out after the audio). It's Rhode Island in the '80s, and when four partners of law firm die in a crash ,they leave behind four widows. The women find themselves wildly in hot water, their lives full of secrets and.... the mafia! This was fun and twisty, and I hope there's another coming!

What a fun read, or listen in my case! You'll be taken on a ride from start to finish, and it will leave you breathless. Four widows and all played out in the audiobook with different narrators. They are all equally amazing, and it really brought the story to life! The twists and turns right to the very end will have you dropping everything to find out what happens!

💍Book Review💍

Summary; 1985, Rhode Island.

A private jet carrying four partners of a Providence law firm crashes outside New York City, killing all aboard but leaving behind more questions than answers and setting the stage for four widows to find the truth.

Justine: a former fashion model adjusting to suburban life

Camille: a beautiful, young second wife whom some suspect is a gold digger

Meredith: a stripper who was in a relationship with the firm’s only female partner

Krystle: a founding partner’s wife committed to the firm being a legacy for her sons

While the crash is initially ruled a tragic accident, something’s not adding up: the team wasn’t supposed to be in New York that day, and it’s soon revealed there was a very large sum of cash that burned up with the plane.

The scene is as wild as ‘80s neon, and the manic chase to uncover the Mafia-laced secrets gives this rip-roaring read a rad vibe that will linger long after the ‘80s soundtrack fades and the hairspray falls.

My thoughts: this was a fun little romp that definitely wanted to be something along the lines of the Finlay Donovan series. It was unique and had moments that were quite funny. Overall the biggest downfall of this book is that there were far too many character and POV switches. I really can’t even tell you which wife was married to which husband still at the end of the book. Each character had their own seperate arc that was seperate from the overall plot of the story. It was just a little too much for me to be honest ! Thank you @sourcebookscasa and @netgalley for the advance copy, this one came out last month (forever behind on reviews 🥲)

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC! This was such a fun campy story, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed all of the writing styles combined into one. I’m so glad this is now in ebook and print after being exclusively available on audio. Would absolutely recommend!

Four partners of a law firm are killed in an airplane crash, leaving their wives behind to pay a debt to the mob, money they don’t have. The wives don’t really like one another and they have to work together to save their collective hides. There were four authors of this book, still leaving room for in consistencies, but it is full of irrational and crazy fun. I had a couple of laugh out loud moments. So kick your shoes off and enjoy.

Happy Reading Everyone!

While this book was entertaining, the mystery was lacking and it didn’t deliver the way it could have. The plot was over the top, but still a fun, light read. Thank you to Sourcebooks and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

I enjoy Kimberly Belle's writing, so I thought I'd try this. She's one of four writers who c0-wrote the book, each writing one of the main characters - Krystle (written by Vanessa Lillie), Justine (written by Cate Holahan), Camille (written by Kimberly Belle), and Meredith (written by Layne Fargo). It's a super-light "girl power" story with well-written characters, but the storylines are pretty predictable. Having said that, I got through it really quickly, it was fun to read, and the characters were easy to root for. The story begins with a 1985 private jet crash killing the partners of a Providence, Rhode Island law firm. Four women who previously either didn't know each other well or already disliked each other are forced to work together to figure out what happened and how to move on. Krystle is the wife of one of the founding partners and she's determined to save the law firm for the sake of her sons. Justine is a former fashion model who moved from New York City and now centers her life around her young son JJ. Camille is the beautiful second-wife of an older partner who seems to be a gold digger. Meredith is a stripper who's in a relationship with the closeted female partner. The women couldn't be more different from each other and one has been carrying on an affair with another one's husband. Yet the women have to set aside their differences to find a way to figure out how some of the law firm's dealings with the Providence mob and other shady characters may have affected the plane crash. Thanks to #netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
