Read this as an ARC through NetGalley & I am so happy I chose this story.
I don't usually read paranormal stories, but I quite enjoyed this one. This book is a bit long (457 pages) but I didn't mind. It was written as two parts. While the first half of the book was wonderful, the second half is what really pulled me in. Probably because the paranormal aspect subsided.

All in all it was a unique and lovely romance. The side characters were interesting with their own little stories. Looking forward to the next book to learn more about Serena.

<i>"If I'd known my new apartment was a sex maniacs love den, I would never have invited my parents along."</i>

Ghosted by Sarah Ready may have my favorite opening line ever. Jillian's first encounter with her new apartment includes wall-to-ceiling mirrors, shaggy carpet, and a half naked man named Daniel who may or may not be a ghost and who insists they're friends.

The first part of the book follows the pair as they get their bearings: Daniel as a man who doesn't understand how he died and Jillian as a woman who can't speak to men...except Daniel. The pair have an instant bond, and their love is beautiful and moving.

Then IT happens...the thing in every Sarah Ready book that makes you grab for tissues and ugly cry well into the night.

Don't worry, there's an HEA. You just have to work for it. I don't want to go into too many details and ruin the surprise, so I'll leave it at that.

Ghosted was a gem of a paranormal romance. I loved the way Jillian and Daniel helped each other, and I never once felt their relationship was rushed or disingenuous. Every moment spent figuring out their mystery was spent on the edge of my seat even though I guessed one of the twists pretty early.

I love how protective Daniel's sister was and how all of the bad things that happened to Jillian led her to help Daniel in the end. Her co-workers were also one of my favorite parts of the book. You'll be rooting for them all!!

Thank you, Sarah Ready and NetGalley, for the opportunity to read this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jillian can’t talk to men, no seriously - she just can’t talk to men at all. As her career is looking down, her love life is nonexistent, and she suddenly needs a new apartment - it really doesn’t seem like it can get worse. But it can. Her new apartment is haunted apparently, by a handsome and weirdly shirtless ghost named Daniel. Daniel decides that his unfinished business is to help Jillian and her love life. Will he help? Or make it so much more complicated?

This was so cute. Jillian is so awkward and sweet. Daniel is so funny. Their banter was wonderful. I loved The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston and this really hit in the same spot. I thought the relationship was sweet and I loved that Jillian found her love life improving, but also her other relationships as well. Even knowing this was a romance, I was shocked more than once at the direction of the plot. If you’re a rom-com reader, I think you’d enjoy this one!

Actual Rating: 3.5⭐

The plot is very interesting, I was intrigued by the mystery of how Daniel appear at Jillian’s apartment as a ghost and why only Jillian could see him. It was funny and strange seeing how they interact with each other.

I keep reading until the end because I wanted to know the explanation to what happen to Daniel and whether they’ll end up happily together since it’s impossible for a ghost and human to have a romantic relationship…

But, I really like the secondary characters, like Fran, Jillian’s BFF – Serena and also Jillian’s co-worker at the office whose really liven up the story.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of Jillian at first, but I slowly started to understand her as the story goes.
Then there's the mysterious Daniel. He is the reason why I like the second half part of the story since I got to know his background story.

As much as I like the plot idea of this book, there are some things I wish differently.
I wish the progress of the romance between Jillian and Daniel wasn’t so rushed, it felt like an insta-love which I’m not a huge fan of.
Moreover, the spicy scenes between the two of them while Daniel was still a ghost was really weird….

The first half part and the second half part feels like two different books, the changes to the main characters were quite abrupt. It would be nice if it was divided into two separate books instead of packing it into one thick book.

Overall, it’s a pretty enjoyable read and I find this plot idea really interesting.
Even so, I’m still unsure of what really happen with Daniel even after reading the second epilogue. It should have clarified something but instead it raised some questions for me.
Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to read the next book in this series featuring Serena – Jillian’s best friend!

Oh how I loved Daniel and Jillian! They were the best. I loved seeing all the twists and turns their love story took them on. The audio version and the narrators were perfection.

I discovered Sarah Ready through net galley earlier this year and absolutely love her writing style! This was definitely something different that I've read in a long time. I love anything supernatural/preternatural/paranormal. Tropes for Ghosted include: strangers to friends to lovers, paranormal, fated mates, science fiction. I read this through the audiobook so the narrator also made it very easy to stay intrigued and follow along which is a plus! I'd love to re-read this in the physical form and annotate! Highly recommend for people who want to read/try something different. If paranormal is not your thing then move along. But if not, HIGHLY recommend.

This is a delightful paranormal romance novel with a charming cast of characters, a heartwarming story, and just the right amount of humour.

Jillian Nejat is a romance columnist who has a terminal inability to talk to men in real life. When she moves into a new apartment and meets Daniel, a handsome ghost, she's surprised to find that she can easily communicate with him. Daniel offers to help Jillian with her dating life, and the two quickly develop a deep connection.

I loved watching Jillian and Daniel's relationship blossom. They're both relatable and likeable characters and their interactions are full of chemistry and humour. The author does a great job of developing the relationship between the two characters, and I found myself rooting for them from the start.

The paranormal aspect of the story is also well-done. The author explains the rules of the ghost world in a way that makes sense, and she doesn't shy away from exploring the challenges that come with being in a relationship with a ghost.

Overall, Ghosted is a fun and heartwarming romance novel that I would recommend to fans of the genre. It's a well-written story with likeable characters, a charming premise, and just the right amount of humour and emotion.

I gave the book 4 stars because I felt that the plot was a bit predictable in places, and the ending was a bit rushed. However, I still enjoyed the book overall and would recommend it to others.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Sarah Ready for sending me this arc in exchange for an honest review. I did recieve both audio and Normal formats of this book. I did switch between them both. I went into this not knowing what to expect. I loved it! The characters the twists the romance, it all kept me gripped the whole time. I am new to Sarah Ready but I will definitely be picking up more of her books.

This was such an unexpected read! The premise of the story sucked me in but I wasn’t sure how our characters were going to get their happily ever after. Well, the twist in this story was wonderful and the HEA did come and was hard fought.

Jillian is the epitome of shyness. She can’t even say hello to the coffee vendor downstairs. But when Daniel, a ghost who doesn’t know he’s a ghost, shows up in her new apartment, Jillian suddenly finds her voice. Together, Daniel helps Jillian come out of her shell and Jillian helps Daniel accept his current status. Throughout their time together, the two end up falling in love, even though they recognize the challenges their very unconventional relationship poses.

Just when I thought there was no way forward in their relationship, Sarah Ready gives us a wonderful twist that moves the story forward and helps Daniel and Jillian find forever love.

This story was reminiscent of the movie The Lake House. It was romantic and fun and fresh. Thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal love story.

One thing this book did not have was a content warning for the mention of suicide, but I feel like that’s something readers need to know going in.

I ended up enjoying this paranormal romance. The beginning seemed a little long and there was more innuendo than I personally prefer. Once Daniel and Jillian began spending time together, I became invested in their story. Jillian was very shy and struggled to speak to men. Her character had great growth as she learned to let go of the past and become confident in who she was.

I really enjoyed Jillian’s coworkers and felt like that part of the story was impactful. It brought in a nice found family element and balanced the romance.

This is a ghost story, so I was guessing the entire book how it would turn out. I liked the overall resolution. There was plenty of relationship drama and work drama to add some tension to the story. The second epilogue cleared up some of the questions I had. I was surprised by the number of open door scenes. I was not expecting that from a ghost story. Be warned if you prefer not to read that type of content, however they are easy to skip.

The audio was well done. There are two narrators, but the male is only heard during the second epilogue.

This book contains scattered moderate profanity and several open door scenes.

Good gracious did I love this book. I laughed, then I cried A LOT, and I felt hope. It was in the same vein of The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston, which I loved. Ghosted is its own story and book, though, and I found it to be excellent. I appreciated the character development and wound up loving each one in their quirks and ways. The tension was palpable, the heat was spicy, and the emotional journey was authentic.

I received an ARC courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. The opinions are mine alone.

Sarah Ready wrote an unexpected book about life, love, and how the twists and turns create the life we choose to live. I spent a good part of the book trying to figure it out. Let me say without offering any spoilers this is a gem of a romance, read it and let Sarah Ready take you on a journey of true love and fate.

Ghosted by S. Ready is the first book in the new series. A witty and fun read that gives all the feels.
Ghosted tells the story of Jillian and Daniel.
Jillian is a relationship expert who can't talk to men in general, tragic.
Just moved to NY she needs new everything.
Daniel is her new roomie in a very special way, just like himself.
Sorry not sorry no spoilers here.
A masterfully written and beautifuully told story that I greatly enjoyed reading.

At this point, I will read anything Sarah Ready writes. I fell in love with this author back in January and she’s now my most read author so far this year. There’s just something about a paranormal / mind-bending romance that just pulls me in - maybe it’s the idea that love is more powerful than space and time? Anyways, I loved this story so much and couldn’t put it down - both MCs were so endearing and Jillian’s character growth was written so well. If you loved The Dead Romantics, The Seven Year Slip or the movie The Lake House, I can’t recommend this enough! I listened to the audiobook for the first half (loved the narrator) and read the e-book for the second and enjoyed both formats.

I absolutely adored Ghosted, I loved the characters and enjoyed the mismatched group of reporters who formed an unconventional family. I have never rooted for a happy ending so hard as I did reading this book.

Whenever I receive a Sarah Ready novel, I can hardly wait to begin the story. Once again, she has managed to create a truly unique book, with two mesmerizing individuals who I loved as soon as I read about them. Jillian Nejat finds it difficult to speak to men. Her family neighbour Fran has set her up on more than 100 blind dates and she still has had no success. When she moves into a cheap NYC apartment, she finds herself living with Daniel, a sexy and shirtless heartthrob. Jillian has no difficulty talking to Daniel, but unfortunately, Daniel is a ghost. Daniel is convinced that he is in her life to help save her love life and despite her disagreeing to his proposal, Jillian finds herself falling for Daniel, the one person who she can never have.
Without revealing too much more of the storyline, I can’t find enough superlatives. This was such a beautiful love story, that had me wondering how it could possibly ever work out between Jillian and Daniel. It was definitely a rollercoaster ride of events and emotions, and the story has stayed with me long after the last page.
An amazing read and one that deserves to be read more than once!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was the first book I have read by Sarah Ready, and it definitely will not be the last! I started reading thinking I was just in for a light-hearted silly love story. Instead I found a story about a character I could directly relate to not only finding love, but also finding her way through loss and grief.

I did not want to put this book down, it easily kept my attention. There were more twists and turns and page turning moments than the synopsis implies. Just when you think you have things figured out, something else happens that flips everything on its head!

The story is told through Jillian's point of view, and we get to experience her social transformation first hand. We also get brief glimpses into the lives of some of the people closest to her and get to see their transformations as well, though I wish there could have been times where the story was told from another perspective.

This was a cute romantic comedy with paranormal romance elements and I enjoyed it. The characters were fun and so was the story. I did feel like it was a bit predictable but not a total bad thing. I would definitely read more from the author.

Once again, Sarah Ready delivers an emotional romance, accompanied by hilarity, a solid cast of side characters, and great character growth, all wrapped up with a paranormal twist that's perfect for this time of year.

Jillian, the main female protagonist, has a lot on her plate at the beginning of this book. She's struggling to give sound relationship advice down to the fact that she's unable to even speak to the opposite sex. Given her job is to write for the readers of the website she works for on this very topic, it's quite an interesting debacle she's faced with. Along with her career nose-diving, she's moved into what once had to be a sex den of an apartment, and on her first night there, she meets Daniel - her new spector of a roommate.

I loved that Jillian, described as awkward at best, goes on this journey, first to get rid of Daniel, and then learn how to live again in the company of her seemingly dead new friend. As a fan of ghost-based paranormal romances, I enjoyed every bit of Jillian opening up herself to the opportunities she was missing out on all thanks to Daniel's guidance. His ability to bridge the realm of the living to assist her in stepping out back into the world was written well. Whilst hilarious at many points, I liked the emotional outcome of Jillian's connection with Daniel, especially when romantic feelings and entanglement of her fledgling hope were mixed in.

I was a little concerned when I got to what felt like the pinnacle moment between the pair and it was only the midway point of the book, but what follows is Jillian's journey to rediscover Daniel when he all but disappears on her. I admit, I struggled a little with how suddenly determined Jillian was to find him and insert herself into his life. It was somewhat cringe at points, especially with the loosely based concept of how she met Daniel in the first place. However, the build-up and the explanations and twists as the story progresses make up for this momentarily iffy feeling. I cried, I consumed this read, and I hoped for both Daniel and Jillian to reach their happily ever after. And if you're a return reader of this author, you know there's always at least a happy for now to satisfy with.

This is my favourite novel to date that I've read by Sarah Ready, and I'm eager to read what's to come next.
