I don't normally read paranormal romances but, I am so glad I read this one. Sarah Ready knows how to write characters and a great plot to the story. When the book was over I simply wanted more.

Ghosted is an enticing paranormal romance that I found to be amazing from the first chapter to the last!! It kept me hooked the whole time and before I knew it I had read the whole thing in one sitting!! I was so sad when it was over. That's what makes me know that this book needs to be on my bookshelf asap. I am a sucker for a good ghost romance and Sarah Ready delivered. I totally fell for and cried over this ghost. I will be recommending this book to anyone who will listen and re-reading. The spice level was good and placed in the best spots to keep us as readers wanting to keep reading. This book has been my favorite read of September thus far!!

This is the story of Jillian who cannot talk to any males in this world. She is shy has a rough go of things early in life.. she is a Star Trek loving journalist who is still working for the paper she first started working after graduation. She gets the surprise when she moves into her new apartment in New York City with mirrored walls put up by the previous tenant. A shirtless man appearing in her apartment out of nowhere. When he's vanishes just as quickly she is more than a little freaked out. But later she realizes that Daniel is a ghost. Jillian doesn't know why Daniel is in her apartment. Daniel himself is not very sure of what happened to his life other than they are friends. Jillian thinks she has to get rid of Daniel and seeks out a psychic for help. The psychic says it can only happen if Daniel helps her in some way because she thinks that's the reason Daniel is here. Daniel decides his duty is to help Jillian to get into dating other men but the problem is: as Jillian spends more time with a ghost she is falling in love with the ghost and Daniel is feeling the same but there is no future for them. When Daniel disappears Jillian is left to figure out can she live without him and if not how will she get him back??

Ghosted is a unique romantic novel that blends the supernatural with the everyday struggles of a young woman trying to make her way in the world. I have absolutely loved Sarah Ready’s previous books “The Space Between” “French Holiday” and many others but this one just didn’t resonate for me.

Jillian is a relatable and endearing character who is facing a myriad of life's problems, except she can’t seem to speak to any man - nada. When she moves into a tiny, run-down NYC apartment, she gets more than she bargained for when she discovers it's already occupied by Daniel, a hot ghost. Yes, you read that right—a ghost!

Sarah Ready is a pro at descriptive writing. All senses are engaged and she beautifully sets scenes and characters. The friendship chemistry between the characters is believable but I just couldn’t move past the living-dead romance. So… I think me not enjoying the book has more to do with me not enjoying the paranormal romance.

The narrator had a voice that was light and airy without sounding too young. It definitely added to the enjoyment.

Those that enjoy descriptive writing with a touch of paranormal romance will undoubtedly enjoy this book.

Jillian Nejat, is a dating and relationship expert with a unique and challenging problem—she can't speak to men. Her crippling condition has left her bank account empty, her career in ruins, and her dating life in a ten-year drought. In a last-ditch effort to turn things around, she moves into a small, affordable apartment in New York City. However, Jillian's new living situation takes an unexpected twist when she discovers that the apartment is already occupied—by a sexy, shirtless, six-pack-wielding heartthrob named Daniel, who also happens to be dead. He's not living, not breathing, but he's a ghost, and he's the only man Jillian can communicate with.

Daniel believes that helping Jillian find love is his mission in the afterlife. He's convinced that if he can assist her in falling in love, he can finally move on. Reluctantly, Jillian agrees, as the last thing she needs is a Lothario ghost haunting her living room. As the two embark on this unconventional journey, one practice date leads to another, and confessions pour out.

It is a delightful and unique romantic comedy that combines humour, paranormal elements, and a charming love story. The premise of a dating expert who can't communicate with men but finds herself drawn to a ghost is both quirky and intriguing, and the author executes it with wit and heart.

The characters in this novel are well-crafted and endearing. Jillian's struggles with her condition are portrayed with empathy, and her journey from isolation to opening up to the possibility of love is a compelling arc. Daniel, the ghostly heartthrob, adds a layer of mystery and charm to the story, and his mission to help Jillian find love adds a delightful twist to the traditional romantic comedy.

Sarah Ready's writing style is engaging and filled with humour, making it easy for readers to connect with the characters and their predicaments. The humour in the book is well-timed and adds to the overall enjoyment of the story. The dialogue is witty, and the chemistry between Jillian and Daniel is palpable, keeping readers invested in their budding relationship.

The themes of self-discovery, taking risks, and finding love in unexpected places are woven throughout the narrative, making "Ghosted" not only an entertaining read but also a heartwarming one. It reminds us that love can be found in the most unexpected and unconventional situations.

For fans of romantic comedies with a paranormal twist and a healthy dose of humour, "Ghosted" is a must-read. It's a lighthearted and charming story that will leave you with a smile on your face and a belief in the power of love, even in the most unusual circumstances.

❛❛ “If I could live,” he says, “I’d live for you.”❜❜

the book's writing captivated me from the opening line. I adored how it blended immaculately crafted scenes, nuanced thoughts, and agonizing quotes. the author's fast-passed plume and audacious storyline made it a rhythmic and engaging story.

"Because when you’re in love with a man who is already dead, there’s no way to make a life together. There’s no life at all."

the book was divided into two distinct parts. the first one was dedicated to Jillian's struggles to comprehend the constant presence of a ghost in her quotidian, while juggling between her chaotic dating and professional life. it also explored the relationship she built with Daniel-the ghost- and their beautifully elegiac friendship wish evolved into a love story. in these chapters, their chemistry was undeniable. their spark and connection were without contest alive and palpable, even though they couldn't even touch each other. i surprisingly loved how the 'insta love' arc was drawn.

“It’s only ever been you,” I tell him. “Even if you never remembered, if you never wanted me, it’s only ever been you.”

the second portion of the storyline focused on how she tried to figure out her life without Daniel's constant presence and involvement in every infime aspect of her life. it was also the most heartbreaking part of the book.

“If I could give you anything,” Daniel says, “I’d give you heaven.”

i enjoyed how the plot was well constructed and orchestrated. the storytelling was brillant in distilling the truth and epiphany surrounding Daniel, with fragmented answers scattered throughout.
•who’s Denial?
•how did he die?
•why is he half naked ?
•why did he die half naked?
but i found the big question mark that was pending on "how come she can seen and hear him when no one seems capable of it?" cleverly answered it also involved a -somehow-rational and scientific explanation which made perfect sens.

“If I could dream,” he says, “I’d only dream about you.”

I don't want to go deeper into the details because I may spoil and ruin something unintentionally. plus, it’s preferable to read only knowing that it’s a beautiful and atypical love story featuring a ghost.

p.s. : i honestly excepted the book to be the 'Ghost' movie’s retelling but, what was my surprise when i ended up noticing more similarities with 'Just Like Heaven'. i think this romcom is such an underrated movie. so, if you haven’t watched yet, what are you waiting for ? and mark your calendar for 26th september when this heartbreaking masterpiece comes out!

many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange of an honest review.

Is it possible to love every single book by an author?! I think so!

Another beautiful story by Sarah Ready! This one was different from her other novels as it includes a paranormal aspect to it. I was a little hesitant to read it since I’m not normally one for ghosts in books, but as usual Sarah navigated the topic beautifully.

I loved falling in love with these characters, and seeing their growth and development throughout the book. It’s always my favorite when I can truly root for the MC’s, and Sarah always delivers there.

This style of book isn’t for everyone, but if you can look past the paranormal parts if that’s weird for you, there truly is a beautiful story here and I’m so happy I gave it a chance!

Thank you NetGalley and Sarah Ready for the opportunity to read and review this book before its pub day on September 26th.

Loved loved loved this book!

So per the blurb the H is a ghost. Reading it I kept wondering where it was going? Where did he come from? How is this going to be explained? By the 2nd act I couldn't put the book down. The writing was great. Characters great. Storyline great. Highly recommend!

I am not usually a fan of paranormal romances but this one somehow held my attention from the start. I’ve always heard great things about Sarah Ready and am glad I got the chance to read this book. Great humor and banter, good interconnected relationships, friendships and family dynamics. I could not put it down. Happy, satisfying ending as well

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this novel. All opinions are my own.

Ghosted by Sarah Ready: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Format: ALC provided by W. W. Crown and NetGalley

Five star review alert!! 🥳

Out of 134 books I’ve read this year, I have only given 6 of them perfect five star ratings. To get the full 5 stars, there should not be a single thing that I would change about the book. I give them very very sparingly.

Ghosted by Sarah Ready is number 7 to get a perfect score from me this year. When I tell you that I loved this book, I 👏 LOVED 👏 THIS 👏 BOOK! 👏

There is so much to love about this book. We have a delightful FMC Jillian, who has some flaws she’s working on but is humble, unapologetically herself, and always kind. We have a large cast of lovable side characters who are always supportive of Jillian and have unique and quirky personalities. We’ve got EVERYONE getting their character development on. At 450 pages/14 hours of audio, this is on the longer side, but zero part of this book dragged in my opinion. It was the perfect pace!

The main romantic themes are insta-love, star-crossed soulmates, fake-ish dating, and a dash of friends to lovers. There’s not much I can say about the plot without spoilers, but I will say that it goes WAY beyond what is laid out in the blurb. Ghosted made me laugh out loud, it pulled at my heartstrings, and I didn’t want it to end! I won’t be accepting any criticism for this book.

I went into this book completely blind and with no expectations, and I’m so thrilled that I found this amazing book! I wholeheartedly recommend this book to rom-com readers. I would give this 1-2 🌶️ on the spicy scale.

Thank you to W. W. Crown and NetGalley for the ARC and ALC of Ghosted, which publishes on September 26.

5⭐️
A beautiful read by Sarah Ready. Ghosted has become one of my most FAVOURITE reads for 2023!

You get all the feels; from amusement, to angst, then love and everything in between, I believe EVERYBODY should give this story a chance. I fell in love with the main characters and also found myself rooting for the side characters as well!

Ghosted follows our main girl Jillian, who works in the publishing industry as a relationship advice expert. Buuut she’s not the best at talking to men. In fact, she is incapable of talking to men. So with her career and love life taking a deep dive into the pits, she moves into a tiny NYC apartment for a fresh start.

There, she meets this super sexy dude named Daniel, and she is strangely able to talk to him. Why? It’s due to the fact that he’s actually a ghost who’s living in her apartment.

She doesn’t know why he’s there, and he doesn’t know why he’s there either. Daniel believes in order to move on, he must help Jillian with her career and love life. So they work together and sparks start flying, but how would anything come from this when death has already parted them?

There’s so much more to this story then I can let on. We watch characters grow and forgive, hurt and love. I might need to re-read this again once I get my hands on a physical copy! It was so intriguing.

Thank you Netgalley, W.W. Crown, and IBPA for the E-ARC. And thank you to Sarah Ready for inventing this story.

This book was heartbreakingly beautiful and soul touching!

Jillian is an author at a media publication and long story short her work life, dating life and social life are pretty much a dumpster fire. Past trauma and loss has restricted her ability to be “out there”. She can’t talk to men and she’s insanely shy. That is until she meets the sexy, shirtless Daniel.
Daniel is a ghost that seems to know Jillian but Jillian has never once met Daniel. He haunts her, literally, until she accepts they are supposed to help each other.
What Daniel and Jillian have are beyond words and my heart cried for them and everything they went through.

This story is tragic, but also heartwarming, sad but also hopeful. I cried, laughed and swooned. And their ending was beautiful.

I really enjoyed this book and would 100% recommend!

Thank you NetGalley and W.W Crown for a copy of this ARC.

I requested this book & audiobook because I had just read 'The Space Between' by Sarah Ready last month and loved it. Thought another Sarah Ready book would be great.
I alternated between the audiobook and ebook. Both experiences were great.
The way Sarah writes her stories, makes me want to keep reading (or listening) and I can't put the book down. I want to find out what happens next. There was a lot of descriptive words describing sight, sounds, touch, smells etc...of the world around the main character. The narrators in the audiobook - Sarah Naughton and Rob Brinkman deliver engaging and believable characters. I recommend this book and audiobook to anyone who enjoys cozy paranormal romances. It was a pleasure to listen to the audiobook and read this book. I enjoyed the 'ghost' aspect of the book and the different perspective.

Thank you for the advance copy NetGalley, Sarah Ready, W.W. Crown and IPBA for the ARC.

We made love. I made love with Daniel. I'm in love with Daniel. It's wonderful. It's terrible. Because when you're in love with a man who is already dead, there's no way to make a life together. There's no life at all."

Jillian a 27 years old woman with a terminal inability to speak to men she's a hopeless romantic and has a belief that one day she will find someone she's able to talk to and who can see her for her true self but she had no idea that this man will be a ghost.

It's an OPPOSITE ATTRACTS
SOULMATES
FORCED PROXIMITY
PARANORMAL ROMANCE
FRIENDS TO LOVERS STORY that will shatter your heart and mend it in the most surprising way.
Full of humour and heartfelt moments.
Lovable characters with an amazing setting.
The only thing that made 4⭐ not 5 it is that it's too long for my taste other than that everything was perfect.
Therefore, I suggest you going into this book blind it will make the journey a lot better and much more surprising and if you like you could listen to the audio book which and it was really good.
Thank you to @netgalley and the publisher for granting me an ARC of #Ghosted in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Netgalley and W.W. Crown for this ARC in return for my honest review.

Ok. There seems to be something in the water but this is the second book in a row I`ve read with a MMC named Daniel and (again) he is EVERYTHING. Thoughtful, charming, sweet, caring, encouraging, funny, handsome. Only in this book - Daniel is also a ghost - one who is seen only by our female lead, and who seems to be there to help her get her life back on track.

Jillian is an almost 30 year old who writes a relationship advice column but... can't speak to people of the opposite sex. Orders coffee from the coffee stand guy - it's all nods and smiles. Goes into the office and sits next to her male colleagues - all smiles and shakes of her head. It's a little awkward. But when she meets Daniel - not only is she able to speak to him, she starts to open up. Their relationship builds her confidence and allows her to face some past griefs and finally come back to the land of the living.

Listen. This is a book about a budding relationship between a human and a ghost. It sounds unbelievable - but Sarah Ready pulls it off. You'll be rooting for our mains to figure it out. I can't say that I usually sway towards paranormal / magical realism reads - but this one had me hooked from the beginning.

This is going to sound bizarre - but I spent the first 40% of the book thinking it was a mash-up of:

- The movie "Ghost" - same type of chemistry
- The tv show "Pushing Daisies" - same charming, loving, adorable mains -also the frustration of being in love and not being able to physically touch - also swap pies with donuts.
- and finally the tv show "American Horror Story" season one - just because I recently watched it and the whole "only certain people can see ghosts thing"... there is absolutely no horror aspect to this story.

Jillian and Daniel are joined by a host of wonderful side characters:

Fern - who's mission in life is to find Jillian her HEA
Bernardo - Jillian's boss who is brings together a rag tag of people to form her work family
and then the work family:
Ned - believes in aliens, hopping through dimensions and is perfectly suited to help Jillian out when she needs a hand.
Buck - angry, and gruff - a right pain in the butt but ultimately loyal to a fault.
Hayley - the beauty queen who is so much more and the perfect friend to help Jillian.

If you are a Trekkie - there are loads of references for you, and even if you aren't - they are adorable references not annoying ones.

This is a love story meant to make you FEEL all those big feelings. I loved it. Some trigger warnings - mention of off page suicide and self harm - but I thought it was handled in a thoughtful way.

Recommended read.

The idea behind this book had me hooked! After the first few chapters I couldn’t stop! I loved the descriptions of the apartment and Daniel. I loved the time lines throughout the book, but also enjoyed the little nerdy, quirky moments Jillian had. The supporting characters were great, and there were so many times laughed!

I really enjoyed this book! It is a really unique premise and while the supporting characters feel like caricatures, it's never over the top or annoying. The book was a great length, it didn't feel too long or too short.

For a rom-com about a woman falling in love with a ghost, it felt surprisingly realistic with the emotions between the two main characters.

Sarah Ready books are such a ride and I enjoy every moment. I honestly don't know how she makes my fan-of-realism heart get into this stuff, but does she ever.

Ghosted very much feels like just like heaven from the start, but with a hilariously awful apartment. The sex den in some ways felt like an additional character, and it added a lot. I have to admit that I was very skeptical of the can't talk to men thing, but it was more than a plot device. Jillian had trauma-induced selective mutism, and while this may not have been the best portrayal since she could always talk to Daniel and she seemingly gets over it in the book, I was glad there was more than falling in love fixed me. There is a bit of that, but it was more about processing her trauma and releasing her guilt.

I was glad to see the reckoning over Jillian's tactics to see Daniel though I really had to suspend my disbelief that a guy who had a stalker before was that open with her. Daniel was pretty insta-love which I normally hate but since we had already seen them fall for each other it sort of worked.

I have mixed feelings on the second epilogue, I liked seeing Daniel's POV and closing the loop on what happened in the original timeline but I hated that she was able to talk to him right off the bat there, it goes back to my hesitation and concerns with the selective mutism.

But overall a really enjoyable book. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the e and audio arcs.

First, Thank you to NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and W.W. Crown Publishing for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is for people who can let go of reality a bit. Just Like Heaven vibes!
It did take a little while to get into it because I didn’t really vibe with Jillian and her personality at first. After hearing about her past I understood her more and I really started liking the book after that. I thought I knew where it was going but I did not!
All of Jillian’s coworkers and family are wonderful. I loved their own unique ways of showing their support for her.
This is for the ones who believe in fate and that there is someone out there who will love us for exactly who we are, flaws and all. It’s pretty deep and really sweet. I really loved that they both saved each other literally and figuratively. It is a bit insta love but it makes sense in this book. They feel like they know each other from the beginning because they do. The only real complaint I have is the end when Daniel remembers. I wish there was a little more to that moment. Other than that, this is a good book. Recommended if you’re a fan paranormal romance or parallel universes type of thing.

I adored Ghosted. Sarah Ready finds the perfect balance between funny and heartfelt, and always includes a good gut punch. Jillian first meets Daniel right after she moves into her new apartment, the only problem is he's a ghost. Popping up at the weirdest or worst times they work together to figure out how they're supposed to help each other. I loved that she was a shy nerd and his mission was to give her confidence. Jillian did eventually realize what she needed to do to help Daniel move on, and it's heartbreaking. Jillian's coworkers, Ned, Buck, Hayley, Bernardo, were all so amazing they each brought so much to the story. I was just as invested in Hayley and Bernardo as I was in Daniel and Jillian. I can not recommend this book enough, it's going to hurt but it's so worth it.
