Oh my goodness what can I say. I actually thought i was requesting a different book with the same title but I am so happy I got to read this delightful book that has it all. It has the best opening paragraph I've ever read. I laughed loads during the first few chapters and then it got serious. I felt the pain and the emotion of the lead character and the frustration. I felt it all. I even cried during a story line of two of the supporting characters. And it had the all important satisfying ending. I absolutely loved it.

Jillian may be the columnist for the <i> The Daily Expose</i> where she answers questions about love, dating, sex, and marriage, but it doesn't mean she's experience all of those. Infact, Jillian can't even talk to men, so when Daniel shows up at her apartment out of nowhere, she very quickly discovers she can talk to Daniel (After almost bashing him with a bat and throwing her <i>Star Trek</i> model at his head). Thats just her luck - The one man she can talk to is a ghost.
Daniel thinks it's his afterlife job, to save Jillian's non-existent love life, and help her career, before her boss gives her the sack for her 'hopeless romantic' columnist advice that doesn't work.

<b><i> 'Apparently Daniel is very protective of me, and also of who gets to eat vicariously with me' </i></b>

Before long, Jillian finds herself in an unusual position with Daniel, the ghost, and she needs to tell him the truth.

This book had everything you need for a 5-star read.
The plotline was fantastic, the banter had me in fits of laughter, the characters were loveable, not just the main characters. It just gave me so much joy reading it. <i><b>Ghosted</i></b>, left me crying happy tears.

I must admit, I am a huge movie buff, so when I realised the storyline is similar to <i> Just Like Heaven</i>, I thought I had this book pegged. I was wrong, so so wrong.

Jillian has a ghost haunting her apartment. The apartment in question is shady, but it's all she could afford, moving to New York. Mirrors cover every surface; It was definitely used for sexy times, there is no doubt about it.
Jillian tried to question Daniel about his <i>'past life'</i> to try and get him to <i>'move on'</i>. Daniel can only remember little snippets of his life. Yachts, women in bikinis, a mountain lake, gambling in Monaco, clubs in Paris (Jillian knew he was a playboy, I mean LOOK at this sex den apartment). Daniel is adamant about two things, and that is: <i><u>HE ISN'T DEAD!</u></i> and he knows Jillian - they are friends. That isn't possible according to Jillian.

<b> You can see why I thought this was the same storyline as 'Just Like Heaven'</b>
I'm over here thinking, '<i>We'll of course he doesn't think he's dead, he must be in hospital somewhere, that's why every time he disappears on Jillian at the apartment, all he sees is 'black'. Man is in a freakin' coma, laying in a hospital bed somewhere. </i> He isn't dead, but he is in limbo, so to speak.

The only way to convince Daniel, he is dead and misguided, is to take him to a psychic.
The age-old story: Spirits linger, because they have unfinished business. Daniels gets it into his head, that he needs to get Jillian's dating life back on track, help her communicate with men, and help save her career (Jillian's boss has given her, one last chance to turn her dating and relationship advice Column around)

<b><i> 'You're the women who went on a hundred terrible dates because you believed someone would see you for you'</i></b>

This can't be a romance story, without some romance. Ghost Daniel and Jillian find themselves catching feelings for each other, and what started out as a simple mission - 'Help Daniel move on', has turned into something more. Something that neither of them, can explain or want to end.

<b><i> 'You don't want a living, breathing man? You don't want someone who can give you a life'</i></b>

With the success at work and her dating life, one day, Daniel disappears without warning, and just never comes back. Jillian waits and waits and waits.... It has been weeks since she saw Daniel and she's miserable. Aimlessly searching for her ghost, going through the motions. Daniel must have finally moved on? Thats what she wanted right? That was the goal afterall!

When Fran sets Jillian up for yet another disastrous date, following a hundred or more unsuccessful dates before Daniels appearance, Jillian isn't expecting to see him. He's back.... Daniel is not a ghost? He's real!
<u>PLOT TWIST:</u> Daniel doesn't know who she is. <i><b>Sigh! My poor heart!</b></i>
Now, Jillian decides, she must make Daniel remember her. With the help of a work colleague, she's able to track Daniel and find out everything about him. As she inserts herself into his life. <b><i> Only some light good-natured stalking here ;) </i></b>
Daniel and Jillian can finally be together (Its short lived - not even 1 night together)- queue the drama: Daniel finding out she's tracked him, and now he thinks Jillian is a stalker.
Jillian tries explaining the <i>'Crazy true story'</i> of them, but this only cements to Daniel, that this woman he thought he knew is unwell and not who he thought she is.
And that's when it happens.
Thats when Daniel dies.

You'll have to read it to find out the ending, but it's a plot twist on-top of a plot twist, that will have you sobbing, and throwing the book.
Don't get me wrong, this is a HEA but it's one, that will stay with you for a long time.

This is not my first book by Sarah Ready but its different from others in the premise that it talks about timelines, universes and ghost, a hot one at that 😏. Jillian and our ghost, Daniel meet the first day she shifts to her new apartment. They don't hit it off right away, I mean just think you move to a new place and bam, a ghost is there to greet you, well Jillian kinda the same but she talks with him which surprises her since she normally can't talk with alive men, so she doubts it herself, is he alive or not? Jillian is determined to help Daniel get to afterlife and she does all that could be done. As time passes, things happen and we get to know why Daniel is only ever around Jillian and it all makes perfect romance between them except they are only there to help each in someway. He teaches her of love, to be open and she teaches him to eat imaginary food. It's a good story where our side characters have their own romance, the story line of second leads is fireeeee, the friends and family members make the book more interesting to keep reading of..

Jillian has just moved into a new studio apartment, sight unseen. The small size, skeevy mirroring of every surface and a few other details have her down, but between location and price she’s still willing to give it a go.
Daniel - the half naked guy that appears after she’s safely locked away inside, and then *literally* disappears as she tries to fend him off with a bat - was more than she bargained for.

Our ghostly friend Daniel thinks his unfinished business is saving her job and finding the cripplingly unable to speak to men Jillian love. Unfortunately, even though it works in that she starts to fall for someone, it’s not someone she thinks she can have (it’s him)

I don’t want to give too much of the plot away, but I’ll tell you that when Daniel disappears? That’s when the story got Really Interesting to me. Unraveling what happened to him and how she could find her way back to being together with him was a trip.
This book was a little mysterious in a timey-wimey sci-fi way, dramatic and a whole lot of fun. There were a couple times I was seriously questioning how a HEA could come out of it all, but I shouldn’t have doubted!

I’m still not sure how I feel about this story. Paranormal romance isn’t usually something I go for but this one sounded intriguing. There was some surprises that I wasn’t expecting which was a nice surprise but overall the story fell flat for me.

I really wanted to love this book. The premise is great. Unfortunately, there were too many problems for me to enjoy it. The story just dragged on. There were too many descriptions of things that don’t matter, and not enough plot happening. I don’t hate the instalove trope and think it works really well in some instances. For this book, that was not the case. I never felt the chemistry between the two main characters, and I was confused the entire time why they were together. I thought the plot twist was very unique and fun, but just wish the book as a whole was better executed.

I was immediately sold on the premise of the novel - girl falls in love with a ghost. I love trying to figure out the if and how an author will come up with a HEA between a living person and a ghost. I thoroughly enjoyed Daniel’s character in the first half of the book - he’s witty and protective yet supportive of Jillian. I struggled with the remaining 50% of the book - I found myself annoyed with Jillian’s character and the insta-love aspect of the romance. Additionally, I felt as though the side characters could have been developed more. Overall, I feel as though some aspects could have been improved for it to be a higher star rating.

The synopsis of this story intrigued me, as it gave me The Dead Romantics vibes. I was curious how this story would be different. I enjoyed the author’s writing style very much. While there was not a ton of character development, I feel like these characters’ personalities were detailed very well. The relationship between these two was magnetic and they were destined to be together in any lifetime or timeline. I absolutely loved these two together and felt like they couldn’t be apart no matter how hard they tried. This book blew me away. I could not stop reading it. I initially went in thinking it was going to be a knock-off of The Dead Romantics, but it was different and exciting. I loved how the story turned out.

I love Sarah Ready books. They are a must read for me. Seriously, if you have not read one of her books, you are missing out! Ghosted is an enticing paranormal romance that I found to be delightful and wonderfully told. As with her other books, I found this book to be gripping from the beginning and I was instantly transported into the world of Jillian and Daniel. Sarah Ready knows how to create characters that I care about. This book was not only thought provoking, but it was emotion evoking as well.

Jillian Negat writes articles about dating and relationships. Which is funny since she is socially awkward around men, barely able to speak in complete sentences around them. After she moves into a small apartment in NYC, she is soon met with a sexy shirtless man named Daniel, who just happens to be dead. Yep, her apartment is inhibited by a ghost. A ghost who initially isn't aware he is dead and has no idea how he got into her apartment or why he is there. He also is not able to recall what his former life was like.

After they get over their initial shock of seeing each other, they begin to have fun and interesting banter. As Jillian and Daniel begin to know each other, Jillian finds that there is one man with whom she can comfortably talk. Daniel goes on a mission to help Jillian improve her articles to increase her readership and to find love. Once he succeeds, he can move on. Can't he?

This was a delightful tale of paranormal love. I enjoyed how the characters interacted. Both were likeable and I enjoyed seeing Jillian become more self-confident and assertive. She also comes to terms with a painful part of her past and learns to forgive herself. This book does take a little leap of faith as one character is a ghost, but it is so worth it. This book had just the right amount of love, longing, humor, talk of Star Trek (Yes, Star Trek!). I enjoy how Sarah Ready works her characters likes/interests into her books with ease. Fans of Sarah Ready will enjoy this book.

I want to start by saying Sarah Ready is a favorite author of mine. The Space Between is a top book of the year for me. I enjoy paranormal romance, just LOVED Belladonna. This just wasn't for me.

I know Sarah's books are consistently long, but this one really didn't need to be at all. There were a lot of things in this one that just didn't sit well with me. The spicy scenes with the ghost were awkward and strange. The amount of Star trek was really hard for someone with 0 knowledge of Star Trek. I was often left confused and wondering how there was so much of the book left when we were getting our ending now....
Basically it ends about 4 times.

I loved the premise of the book and the side characters were great. Unfortunately this one just isn't for me.

This book follows Jillian, a chronically shy woman (to the point of muteness) living in New York and working as a journalist writing a communication and love column (this is acknowledged to be ironic within the book, which I enjoyed). She moves into a new apartment and ends up being confronted by a … ghost, Daniel. He is (of course) half naked, attractive, and also doesn’t believe he’s dead.

As the book follows Jillian and Daniel, I obviously had to suspend my disbelief at certain points, given the paranormal aspects. I did struggle with some things that happened around halfway through and I nearly didn’t continue, but I pushed through (it was only a very short section that frustrated me), and I’m glad I did. The characters and their relationships (both with each other and with others) were very cute and although there was the classic miscommunication trope (which I am not normally a fan of), I think it was actually handled well. The whole ghost storyline was also handled in a pretty satisfactory way.

I also enjoyed the side characters’ banter throughout, particularly at Jillian’s workplace.

Overall this was a cutesy read and was pretty quick to get through. The audiobook narrators were also great.

Here's the thing about me: you say ghostly romance, and I am in—no questions asked. Jillian moves into a new apartment in New York, and sure, the décor makes it look like a porn set, but this is her own space, away from her parents. As soon as she moves in though, she realizes that the apartment is already occupied by a sexy ghost named Daniel.

I'll start with the positives. I've read a number of ghostly romances, but Sarah Ready's version is unique. I really like the way the author incorporated the ghostly trope. The first thing I usually wonder is how can a ghost and a human live HEA? Let's just say that I really like the author's version of that. I had never come across it before, but it worked especially well here. To be honest, I only kept reading this book because I wanted to know how Jillian and Daniel would live HEA. I'm glad I pushed through because I liked the resolution of the ghostly situation.

But I also have so many issues with this book and I don't even know where to start. Don't get me wrong, the prose is good, but the story is waaaayyyyyy too long. The first half of the story falls victim to long-winded play by play narration. There are so many lengthy descriptions of superfluous things, making the book longer than it should be. I also did not like the insta-love. I literally could not understand how Jillian and Daniel fell in love so quickly?? Not to mention that Jillian was super clingy with Daniel, even though she knew nothing about the man. Daniel was also immediately jealous of Jillian's dates, but I think his jealousy made a bit more sense after we find out the truth behind his ~ghostliness~ I think what bugged me the most is that Jillian and Daniel didn't even try to figure out why he was haunting her LOL. They just assumed he was here to help her with her love life and her advice column. But they didn't even try to figure out who he was, how he died, and why he's linked to her only. They were both so focused on him being here to help her, without ever questioning WHY. It was so annoying and frustrating.

I had such a hard time with Jillian omg. She was just so stupid. She wanted Daniel to stay with her even though he was dead LOL. Instead of wanting him to move on to "the light," she selfishly wanted him to haunt her for the rest of her life. She was so disgustingly needy. Also, the ghost sex scenes were WEIRD LOL. I'm sorry, she literally could not feel anything except for cold breezes. Please explain to me how she was able to find pleasure?? I'm so confused!!

As for the second half of the story, it was interesting enough, especially after finding out the truth behind Daniel's ghostliness. But I still found Jillian super irritating with the way she kept inserting herself into other people's lives. I just could not stand her. The climax was fine...but the conflict leading to the climax was stupidly executed.

Anyway...I kind of rambled. I really wish I loved this one. The concept is interesting. The prose is good. The execution and the characters are just not my cup of tea. I didn't buy into the romance at all. Honestly, it's not the worst book I've ever read, but I just did not like it overall.

P.S. Is Jillian Persian? Why is her white mom named Geeta? I'm so confused. I have questions about Jillian's background.

P.P.S. Not one, but two epilogues. This book is unnecessarily long. The second epilogue is told from Daniel's POV, but not even that made me happy. I just wanted the book to be over.

I felt like there were too many supporting characters and a few could have been dropped and it wouldn't have affected the story much.

I absolutely adored this book! Jill moved into a NY apartment no questions asked. However, she isn't the only one occupying the space. I wasn't sure about the concept of Jill falling for a ghost. I was totally wrong and found myself rooting for Daniel multiple times. I also loved her work environment and coworkers.

4 stars for this paranormal romance. I mostly read thrillers and mysteries, but once in a while I need a good love story to break up all the darkness. And paranormal is not typically my favorite genre, but I do enjoy an occasional ghost story, so the description of this one had me intrigued. And I was not disappointed.

Jillian writes a relationship advice column for a newspaper in NYC, which is ironic because she literally can not talk to men (other than her dad, her boss, and maybe one or two others). Her own love life consists of blind dates that her old neighbor sets her up on - but she doesn't speak to these dates, so they are all quite awkward. But on the day she moves into her new apartment, she discovers that it comes with a ghost. And not just any ghost, but a half naked male ghost named Daniel, and most shocking of all, she can talk to him. Over the next few weeks, they realize that they are meant to help each other, but what that means they don't yet know.

I didn't fully relate to Jillian; she is obsessed with Star Trek and that all leaves me cold. And for the longest time, I did not understand why she couldn't talk to men, and found all of that very annoying. For the first half, I was sure I would rate it 3 stars and I admittedly had to push myself to keep reading it. But then the second half got my attention and pulled me fully back in. I definitely had not figured out the ghost situation, so that was fun and surprising. And the last third, I couldn't wait to see how it would all resolve, and I really liked it. So I'm happy to give it 4 stars, and will definitely read more from this author in the future.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book (thank you!) I absolutely loved this story. The ultimate romance for all "Trekkies" out there!

Ghosted is a beautifully written book about the trials and tribulations of finding yourself as well as the one you love. It also very much gives similar vibes to the 2005 film "Just Like Heaven".

It is so easy to connect to Jillian, a long time Star Trek fan and a romance columnist that has no idea how to talk to men. Jillian's backstory is very interesting to read about which sets the tone for most of this book.

Daniel (Jillian's love interest) is also instantly very likeable with great sarcastic humour while also learning to come to terms with his own reality.

The spice levels for this plot are perfectly well balanced and I love the fact that there is plenty of science and philosophical related facts to fill the gaps within the romance rich plot. I'm a nerd so this was something that made Ghosted an even better read.

There was a great plot twist which I did not see coming, which made me feel a wide range of emotions.

Ghosted is a book that really did fill me "with joy, with love, with gratitude" and it is a book that I can highly recommend and I look forward to reading more from this author.

I have read three of @sarahreadyauthor books now and I just love her. This one surprised me 100%. The description of a girl falling for a ghost was one I was completely unsure of but had to pick up because I loved #frenchholiday and #thespacebetween.

Jillian is a woman who is dealing with something in her past and when she moves into a new apartment “haunted” by a ghost, she makes the most of it. The friendship they build is really cute and turns into more. Daniel helps her grow as a person and overcome her past. When the tables are turned, Jillian learns what it means to be in love and do anything you can to save the one you love.

Shockingly, this was a beautiful story. The ghost element threw me at first but it all came together. The geeky elements were a nice comedic relief and I adored Fran and Jillian’s coworkers. Each with their own quirks. I really enjoy Ready’s detailed descriptions of scenery. I can’t wait for her next one.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the dynamic of the fab five of Jilly’s work. Fran was an absolute treasure, and Daniel is a golden retriever of a man. The plot kept me engaged. I highly recommend snagging a copy when it comes out on September 26,2023.

It's definitely not my normal read. The spice level is 🫑 but the yearning had me kicking my feet. The storyline isn't just "There's a hot ghost in my apartment" either. There's also emotional healing and a surprise plot twist that I obviously cannot reveal but it's GOOD. I was listening to the audio and ran to grab the ebook because I had to finish it late into the night. Did I cry under my covers at the end? MAYBE, BUT YOULL NEVER GET THAT INFORMATION OUT OF ME 😅

I really liked this story and the ghost plot was fun, if a little weird at times. This book broke me and then put me back together, made me cry happy and sad tears, and I really enjoyed all of the characters. I thought I knew where the story was going to go but it ended up not happening the way I predicted. I liked the way the author took it and how she wrote the ending. I didn't quite understand Jillian's unableness to speak to men but all of a sudden she was just able to do it again. There were a lot of Star Trek references but as someone who doesn't know/care about Star Trek, they didn't bother me. I think this was a pretty fast paced romance and if you've enjoyed the authors previous books, you will probably enjoy this one. You just have to be okay with paranormal romance and probably suspend your disbelief.
