I was able to read an eaudio arc of this thanks to NetGalley. A fun romance. Great read. Would read more by this author.

I think this one has some good bones to it. I liked the enemies to lovers aspect and love a good reclaim the throne plot. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough plot. This one is VERY spicy and a lot of it revolves around sex. It just ended up being too fast burn and not believable enough for me. I would recommend this one to enemies to lovers fans that like a lot of spice (like 4 chili peppers) in their romantasy

ARC review!

I listened to the audiobook, which was basic and an enjoyable way to consume this story.

This is a fantasy (that’s heading towards romance) with a slow burn/fated mates/ enemies to lovers thing going on.

The story follows a princess whose kingdom was overtaken by a childhood friend. The only reason our princess made it out alive, is because her bodyguard saved her. While these two have never gotten along, the pining from our MMC and annoyance from our MFC was definitely fun to read.

i just started this and read on goodreads this book blatantly plagiarized an anime, therefore i will not be reading this.

It took me a little while to get into the audio..

The world-building in this novel is commendable. Dark's vivid descriptions transport readers to a realm brimming with enchantment and danger. The intricate details and imaginative landscapes add depth and authenticity to the story, making it a joy to explore.

The pacing, however, suffers from occasional inconsistencies... While I enjoy parts of this.. others not so much... maybe because I didn't have the actual book in front of me but.. it was slightly hard to follow

Crown of Blood and Glass audiobook is good, but the storyline reminded me of an anime. I watched a year ago. Love how the narrator bring life to the characters.

OMG SO AMAZING! I'm in awe--the storyline, the characters, the narration. It all came together so well and was just spectacular!

This ended up being a DNF for me.

While this story should be hitting all the right vibes for me as a lover of fantasy romance, I struggled to get into the audio book. The male narrator definitely threw me off and I struggled to immerse myself into the story with the same ease as I do with the female narrator.

I"m giving the book 3 stars since this audiobook just ain't for me, but I do want to try just reading the ebook on KU when I get the chance.

I’ve had this book for awhile and I’m so glad I read it. It was captivating from the start. I really enjoyed the writing. I love a fantasy romance and the way this one started had me hooked if you know what I mean. The characters are amazing and the plot was top notch. I look forward to more from the author!

I will not be providing feedback on this title overall except to say that I echo the statements of other reviewers I have seen in that while reading this I was struck with deja vu and so went to goodreads to see if anyone else called out why I was feeling that way and saw that in fact it is too similar to an anime that I enjoy.

Hmm not quite sure what to make of this one. The prologue made me think I'd jumped further into the book and took me by surprise, I felt this start was not needed it didn't add anything for me. However after that it started well and I was enjoying the action although it was a tad predictable but then in lost its way for me and dragged. I also could have done with less of Solomons pov I got bored of hearing him think how hard the fmc made him etc etc. This one ultimately wasn't for me. The audio narration was good and that helped me power through.

I enjoyed listening to Nick Mondelli and Islay Jacobs narrate this novel. I loved that they alternated telling the story to match the different POVs. I hope they get to narrate future books in this series.

The first book in a fantasy series is always hit or miss for me. There was enough going on in the story that I will read book #2 when it is released but the story was a little slow at times. That is the nice thing about audiobooks, you can always speed-up the reading to help navigate the slower areas.

Plagiarized from the anime/manga Yona of the Dawn. Despicable!! This was brought to my attention by other reviews on goodreads and I had to see for myself. You should be ashamed!

If anyone loved Rhaenyra and Harwin and thought they didn't get enough screen time, this is the book for you. Devonry, the princess, and Solomon, the captain of the Blood Guard, gave straight-up vibes as Rhae and Harwin. I loved them a lot because of that.

Devonry's life is turned upside down when the man she considers her best friend, and potential husband material, betrays her at her coming-of-age ceremony. He has managed to brainwash most people in her court with his powers. She finds herself running for her own safety with Solomon at her side. Ironically, he's running for his life as the other guards think he is the one responsible for the unfortunate bloodshed that night.

Now, while running for their safety and figuring out how to take back her kingdom, she and Solomon must put up with each other. Their bickering was pretty good. I enjoyed this book as the fantasy book it is. It's a plot that is also in development as the series continues.

Oh man this slow burn is soooo good and I HATE slow burns! But the tension is present and real and burns off of the pages! I can’t wait until that moment of temptation becomes reality!

The plot is exciting - full of treachery and betrayals. Devonry is starting to become a stronger person at the end of this book and I’m excited to see the type of leader she turns into in book 2.

A great fantasy story that sets the grounds for an even better sequel! Solomon you’ll get the girl soon I hope!

Devenry will be queen. She is about to celebrate her birthday and she will become crown princess. She will also get to meet her betrothed for the first time. However, when her betrothed brother, and Devenry's best friend, murders her father she must escape. How will a young women who has only every known peace and pacifism run away and protect herself? Let alone get her throne and kingdom back? Enter Solomon.

Solomon has sworn to protect Devenry with all he has. He has an awakened gift, he is a warrior, and he will use this gift on anyone who stands in their way. However, this is torture. Solomon has also loved Devenry for as long as he can remember, but she is off limits. Promised to another he can never have the woman he loves. The woman who may be his soul mate.

Hello! This has smut in the first chapter, and it could be real or it could be a dream! This is a wonderful romantasy novel which is the first in the series, called Awakened Fates, where Devenry will work towards reclaiming her throne and kingdom. I was surprised at the emotional depth of this book and I really enjoyed it. I listened to this as an audiobook and as it is dual POV there were two voice actors, Islay Jacobs and Nick Mondelli. Both were superb but Nick was so incredibly intense, I loved it! I sure hope these two continue to narrate this series.

Big thanks to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, Lucinda Dark and Rebecca Grey for this early release copy in return for an honest review.

Dnf @15%

I had the hardest time getting into this book. I just personally didn’t feel any connect to the characters and I think I just wanted alittle bit more worldbuilding in the beginning. It might have more worldbuilding later on, I just don’t have the patience to get there.

Maybe I’ll try to relisten to this book at a later point.

This was an easy read for me. I enjoyed the worl building we got but think there could have been more. There was some left to be desired for sure.
The one bed trope is never tiresome, in my opinion. You know it works for a reason in many books, especially of this genre.
