I love these ebooks with many snippets of upcoming books. I don't feel pressure to read everything and there is a nice variety of reading options. I was not overly impressed by any of the books in this collection but I enjoyed the browsing aspect.

I FEED HER TO THE BEAST AND THE BEAST IS ME by Jamison Shea
This one is spooky and I plan on continuing it.

INTO THE BRIGHT OPEN: A SECRET GARDEN REMIX by Cherie Dimaline
This one didn't really catch my attention.

A CROWN SO CURSED by L.L. McKinney
This is the third book in a series. The writing style was good, but I didn't know what the characters were talking about,

DOWN CAME THE RAIN by Jennifer Mathieu
Eliza gets into climate control activism after losing her home to Hurricane activism despite opposition from her dad.

THIS DARK DESCENT by Kalyn Josephson
A fantasy about a girl who wants to win a magical horse race that happens once a decade. It wasn't for me, but I like that it has lgbt rep.

THE CHANGING MAN by Tomi Oyemakinde
Adebola's new boarding school has a creepy legend calling the Changing Man. When a classmate goes missing and others are acting strange, could he be to blame? Her and her new friends intend to find out. This one read a little too generic thriller to me.

SILENCE AND SHADOW by Erin Beaty
This is the second book in a series and I was lost as to who or what the characters were fleeing,

THE NIGHT HUNT by Alexandra Christo
This is about gods, monsters, mythology and reclaiming your life for yourself.

AT THE END OF THE WORLD by Nadia Mikail
A girl and her family are looking for her missing sister because the world will end soon. I didn't like the sample. It felt like it was written for younger people and the story was just ok.

UNHOLY TERRORS by Lyndall Clipstone
A gothic horror story about holy warriors called wardens and blood-drinking monsters called vespertines.

GORGEOUS GRUESOME FACES by Linda Cheng
A scandal ended Sunny's pop career and friendship with her former group mate Candie, but now a K-Pop convention is offering her a chance to see Candie again. This one is creepy and I would continue reading it.

VENGEANCE OF THE PIRATE QUEEN by Tricia Levenseller
I love the cover for this one, but since it's the third in a series I didn't understand most of the characters' relationships. I like the main character Sorinda though.

Thank you to Fierce Reads for this sampler.

I like getting previews about upcoming authors as it gives me a chance to know which authors to follow. I particularly liked Cherie Dimaline’s writing

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Children's Publishing Group for the opportunity to read an exclusive sneak peek of 12 of some of most anticipated YA releases of 2023.

The Fierce Reads Fall 2023 Digital Sampler was AMAZING!!! I was so impressed by the YA books selected. I immediately purchased "Gorgeous Gruesome Faces" and "Vengeance of the Pirate Queen" after reading the samples, and I have added several of them to my must-read list!

📚Good view into young reader trends

I like the sampler format because it got me reading themes and genres I would not normally select.

This sampler gives some good insights into writing styles and themes for today's upcoming YA authors, but what I found most interesting was that the sample chapters were not always representative of the main thrust of the book. For example, I Feed Her to the Beast has a horror cover but the opening chapters about ballet try-outs give no inkling of the horror aspect of the story coming up. Jennifer Mathieu's Down Came the Rain seems a teen's high school junior's social and study troubles after her Houston school is damaged in a hurricane with a hint that the MC is concerned about the environment, but fighting climate change is actually key in the full story. Both samples had me wanting to read more, as did the samples for Nadia Mikail's doomsday story At the End of the World and Cherie Dimaline's Canadian historical fiction Into the Bright Open.

The bulk of the other stories were fantasy or horror-inspired and less to my taste. But the chapter excerpts gave me a good chance to try them out and one or two, like Alexandra Christo's The Night Hunt and Erin Heart's Silence and Shadow might be added to my TBR list.

Thanks to Macmillan Children's Publishing Group and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

I've recently taken a new appreciation for the digital samplers here on NetGalley. As someone who is trying to expand her reading genres and taste, these guides have proven very helpful. I do read some YA books and since this is so recent I thought it would be an insightful choice.

I love that even if I don't end up finding a book that I am interested in, it gives me suggestions to give to my friends and my audience on Instagram.

This was fun to read. The sampler left me wanting more of each book. I will definitely pick up some of these titles at a local book store.

This is such a fun way to introduce books for the fall! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Into The Bright Open. I've added it, the Night Hunt, and This Dark Descent to my TBR! The other books were well crafted but not my personal style. Thank you for sharing!

Before reading this list, I was only familiar with a few of the authors. But now, I have discovered so many more talented writers to get excited about. Alexandra Christo’s writing has previously captured my attention, and I am eagerly anticipating her upcoming novel, The Night Hunt. As a fan of Tricia Levenseller and Erin Beaty’s previous works, I am also eagerly anticipating their next books. Most importantly, I am grateful for being introduced to Jamison Shea, Cherie Dimaline, L.L. McKinney, Kalyn Josephson, Lyndall Clipstone, and Linda Cheng. Their upcoming releases have piqued my interest, and I can’t wait to read them.

Honestly, I grabbed this one because I wanted to read the "I Feed Her to the Beast" excerpt and it made me so excited for the book (which I just finished reading and it's amazing). I haven't gotten around to the other samples, but I'll definitively use this to decide what to pre-order.
