This book is a true delight, not only for adults but for children of course. Divided into chapters on People, Earth, Nature, Space, and Miscellaneous Mysteries, this colorfully stunning book breaks down even the most complex topics and theories so everyone can hypothesize over unanswered questions and events.

As the book says we live in "A World of Unsolved Wonders" and it is curious to see how topics that as adults we probably don't think twice about are explained to children and can give them theories that they can then use their critical thinking and imagination to solve.

My 8 year old was obsessed with this book and spent hours trawling through the pages gaining new information. Even as an adult there are questions which I wanted answering!

The explanations are in bite size amounts to make it an understandable read. The illustrations are inviting and vibrant.

I’m so happy I found this on NetGalley and downloaded it while it was available. This is such a great book for both kids and adults alike. All the topics are so interesting and explained in great detail without being wordy or too complex for a kid to understand. And don't even
start on the visuals! Good Wives and Warriors did an amazing job with the illustrations. All these intricately done images brought the information t0 life.

When I think of all of the qualities a factbook should have, this book checks all of the boxes and then some. There's a wealth of knowledge included that I feel will be engaging and appealing to all age groups. I also need to mention the art. It is FANTASTIC! The pages feel like large colorful murals that encapsulate the overall theme of the facts within each individual section. I learned a lot, I laughed a little, and I fell in love with the art. I will definitely recommend this to my library! Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I love the questions this book asks and the theories it proposes. So much of learning is kids learning about things already known. I love a book that looks at the mysteries and questions still to be answered. No matter how much we discover there is always more to learn, something they themselves could find the answer to some day. This is a reminder of that.

The one thing I struggled with is the visual component of this book. I liked the font. I liked the illustrations. But... the font and illustrations together were a bit busy. It made it hard to focus at times. This might not be the case for everyone but we are a neurodivergent family and the business of the page was a bit overwhelming in places. I think the illustrations are fun but would have been better with a more block style title font. (Since I am also on the Kindle Edition, I do wonder if this would be less so with the hardback)

Welcome to the Mysteryverse is full of amazing colourful illustrations, interesting information and theories all pulled together in a great designed book! I would highly recommend.

I love the details, science info and colorful illustrations. The book is laid out in “bubbles” of information doe the most part and make it easy to leave off and pick back up again.

Colorfully illustrated this is a book full of scientific factoids. Each page asks one or more questions with bubble blurbs of information giving explanations or answers. I know the format is one that students in my library will enjoy. There is not straight reading paragraphs of information. A variety of topics are covered such as why we blush, yawn, dream or have fingerprints. Questions about the earth, dinosaurs and planets too. I will say sometimes the answers are only theories and there is not a specific correct answer.

Overall a fun book that I would expect to be popular on my library shelf, especially for 3rd grade and up. It reminded me of the popular You Wouldn’t Want to Be series. Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Wide Eyed editions for the temporary ARC. I am leaving a voluntary review.

At first glance this book is wild. It is illustrated in a Beatles Yellow Submarine style of vivid colors and wild and overwhelming compositions. The Music Poster font of the headings is also hard on the eyes.

Luckily, the text itself is a normal font that is easy to read. It contains plenty of sly Beatles song references (of course) that will slide right over kids' heads but are fun for the grownups reading the book to them.

The content of the book is compelling. It's full of mysteries - things that puzzle science or that we just don't know the reason for. Each question offers a handful of possible reasons and theories about what the answer could be but ends with stressing that we just don't know for sure.

Mysteries like: Why do we have fingerprints? Why are we ticklish? What is deja vu? How did life begin? Why are moths attracted to light? What shape is the universe?

For curious science-minded kids, this book is a goldmine of fascinating things to ponder and an excellent reminder that for all the books of facts and things we do know, there are so many things we don't.

My 9-year old (as curious and science-minded as they come) was instantly hooked and thoroughly fascinated.

This is an excellent book for kids in maybe 2nd - 8th grade. That's a wide range, but I can see different ages getting different things out of it. I would definitely recommend it for classroom libraries.

*Thanks to NetGalley, Quarto, and Wide Eyed Editions for providing an early copy for review.

Another fun non-fiction book that young readers will love dipping into, time and time again. It's full of fun facts that answer mysterious questions like "why do we have fingerprints?"

As an adult, I really enjoyed the way that each question is laid out. The text is broken into smaller, more digestible and accessible bite-sized nuggets of information which makes for easy reading. The vibrancy of the colours and illustrations add to its appeal also.

I think this book would be a bit too advanced for a child of my son's age (5) but I'd consider buying him a copy in a few years if I haven't already caved and bought a copy for my own entertainment. Overall, another children's non-fiction book worth adding to any collection.
