I loved this series. I could barely wait for the next issue to come out. I lived the serial short format, the story kept me engaged from beginning to the satisfying end.

202o Review Update: I'm glad that I decided to re-listen to this series. Amish fiction is one of my favorite genres and I truly do enjoy Brunstetter's work. I do wish that there wasn't so much predictability, but sometimes, it's just plain nice to not have to wade through a lot of angst.

I still feel that Jonah's approach to courting Meredith bordered on stalking, but I do still feel bad for him. It was easy to figure out how this series would end. Character growth mostly was Meredith.

I would give this series a 4 star rating and look forward to reading more of Brunstetter's work.

Disclaimer: I requested a review copy of this book from Netgalley. However, I listened to the audiobook via my library's audiobook app. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

As a whole I would give the series a 3.5. The narrator is one of my favorites and thanks to her soothing voice, I managed to make it all the way through.

The ending was a bit rushed and it was all too easy to figure out how it would play out. Even though he creeped me out a bit about how stalkerish he seemed to be, I still felt sorry for Jonah in the end.

And Susan.

Poor Susan.

I am hoping one of these days that Wanda will surprise me and throw in some suspense and stop making everything so safe and predictable in her books.
