This was an awesome collection of Medieval romances. I enjoyed the way Peterson told the stories of two estranged brothers in the first and second stories and we were able to see how both brother's lives play out. The ability to read about some of the same characters in both stories was also nice. I enjoyed seeing how the characters developed over both stories and was able to see an ending readers often miss out on. I also enjoy reading about this period as the men are always so protective of those they love and will go to great lengths to ensure their safety and happiness. The last story is about a young woman who is forced to flee for her life. She can doctor but those in this time period do not accept her or her abilities so she travels in hopes of finding her Grandma. She meets many people on her journey and the people she meets will change her life forever.

This is a great story for those who enjoy historical fiction and romance, especially during the medieval time frame. I love Tracie Peterson's books as they always keep me reading wanting to know what will happen next and how she will tie everything together in the end.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and am leaving this honest review.

A wonderful collection of 3 novellas set in Medieval times. Each one featues a courageous woman who faces insurmountable hardships and challenges. The book is an enthralling blend of historical romance, suspense, and faith. Peterson is a vivid storyteller.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Medieval romance collection by Tracie Peterson. Kingdom of Love contains three intriguing novellas with castle sieges, murder, intrigue, swoon worthy romance, and even the Bubonic Plague. I found myself eagerly turning the pages to find out what happened next.

A Kingdom Divided is the story of Arianne & Richard. Arianne’s forced to marry by her father, but her husband-to-be. Richard is a kind, thoughtful man who offers her a choice in whether to marry him. Arianne agrees to the marriage and travels with him to his castle. Richard’s mysterious past comes back to haunt them though when a bitter enemy vows to take everything Richard has including Arianne. It’s a fast-paced arranged marriage romance with plenty of action & adventure. I was thoroughly engaged in this story and couldn’t wait to see if/how things would work out. I loved how the arranged marriage grew into real love. In addition to the action and sweet romance, there’s a lovely message of forgiveness and repentance woven throughout the story.

Alas My Love is the continued story of Tancred from A Kingdom Divided, and Hannah. Hannah has been in love with Tancred since she was a child and holds out hope that he’ll return to her. She refuses to give in to her step-siblings’ demands to wed. Barely escaping with her life, she winds up at Richard’s & Arianne’s castle where she’s reunited with her lost love. Hannah’s determined to keep Tancred safe from her conniving family even if it means letting him go. I loved this story! Hannah’s step-siblings were awful, especially her stepsister. The romance was so good and I enjoyed Hannah’s strength in standing up for herself as well as her reliance on faith. Everything from the first story and this story is neatly wrapped up at the end.

If Only is a standalone novella that takes place during the Bubonic Plague. In this story, the author vividly brings to life the fear, loss, and devastation of the plague. Peter is a knight sent on a quest by the king to document the effects of the plague. Along the way, he meets Mary, the daughter of a physician with a gift for healing. They team up and work together to care for a group of orphans as they journey to Mary’s grandmother. This was a tender, heartwarming story that deals with love, loss, and the battle between science and faith. The characters are truly humbled by the effects of the plague and each finds a path to God through their experiences.

Each story was so compelling and really brought Medieval times to life. I loved each romance along with the action. In addition to reading, I listened to the audiobook version and enjoyed the narrator. She really brought these characters to life and I appreciated the emotion she injected into the story.

Definitely recommend to Medieval inspirational romance fans! I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher but also purchased the audiobook version. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided. 4-4.5 stars.

Kingdom of Love is three novellas by Tracie Peterson. All three are set in England during midieval times. I enjoyed each of them, as they all had something different to offer. My favorite part of each though, was seeing how God is at work in our lives every day. And He always has been. Thanks to #NetGalley. I really enjoyed!

Kingdom of Love by Tracie Peterson is a wonderful collection of three novellas set in Medieval times. Each can be read as a standalone story although the first two have a connection. All three feature courageous women who face seemingly unsurmountable hardships and challenges. The characters are exceptionally well-developed considering the length of the stories. The historical detail is amazing and reflects extensive research. I greatly appreciate the strong faith thread woven throughout each story. Fans of suspenseful historical romance infused with faith will love this collection.

Kingdom of Love by Tracie Peterson is a collection of three novellas set in medieval England. Each story focuses on a different young woman who experiences true love. These women are examples of living by faith and trusting God for all things. The stories themselves were sweet and taught a good message. The writing seemed geared more toward youthful readers. I remember that this was an earlier work of Peterson, and her writing growth is evident. Nevertheless, I appreciated getting a glimpse into another facet of her creativity.

This book was fun to read. It’s always interesting reading books from medieval times when everything was so different, and yet similar. People were still people, whether that is feeling scared or wanting to be loved, times don’t change us that much. I enjoyed getting to escape to a time where life was more simple. Where men were protectors of the women they love and loyal to their king. It was fun reading a book that had three stories in one. Getting to see characters I already know and love is always great. The first two books focus on estranged brothers. And I’m so happy we got to hear both of their stories. Both men have been hurt, and their past wasn’t an easy one. Forgiveness can go a long way, but someone usually has to make the first move. Swords are easy to banish, and harder to put away. But in the end, what can be better than family restored?

The third book in this novel is about a young woman who must flee for her life. Being a woman who knows about doctoring is not common, and also quite frowned upon. But it’s all Mary knows, and when people are hurting she can’t help but try to ease their pain. Finding her grandma in hopes of refuge is her only course. The people she meets along the way just might change her in a way she never planned, and she will never be the same.

I would recommend these books to anyone who enjoys Historical Romance. Peterson always has me turning pages way past my bed time and these stories didn’t dissapoint. There was nail biting suspense, romance, mystery, faith, and fear. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A Kingdom Divided
3.5 Stars!
Arianne and Richard are arranged in marriage. They then encounter danger from a foe. Decent story! I loved all the Christian elements and having faith in God. The romance between Arianne and Richard was good.

Alas My Love
4 stars!
This story involves Tancred from the first story and Helena. Helena is mistreated by her step siblings and escapes to Arianne and Richard’s home. I really liked the storyline of this one. It was more interesting than the first one. I also enjoyed all the Christian elements. I did feel bad for Helena and all she endured but she got her happy ending with Tancred.

If Only
5 stars!
I really enjoyed this one. It deals with the Bubonic plague. Mary qnd Peter work together and help lots of children, taking them under their wing. Great story!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from netgalley . All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I love the idea of a collection of historical novelettes. I don’t tend to read shorter historical fiction, so this was something different for me to try.

Although shorter novels, they had all the elements needed for gripping historical fiction; betrayal, revenge, romance and fierce strong-willed women. There were castles, secret passages, battles and adventure. All three stories took me right into the heart of a medieval world, which was very believable and well-researched. These were very escapist stories and really captured all the glamor, adventure and romance of chivalric medieval tales.

The first two stories are connected, however the third is not, and it felt a little inconsistent as I was starting to really enjoy the adventures of Tancred, Richard and Arianne. I’d have loved to see a third story continuing on with their story.

I personally feel there could have been more depth to the stories, however, I fully acknowledge they are shorter works and the author did a great job of telling engaging stories in a shorter form.

Overall, these were very enjoyable and well-written, and something a little different.

In this collection of three novellas, Tracie Peterson brings readers to thirteenth and fourteenth century England where love is blooming. The first story, “A Kingdom Divided,” follows Arianne’s arranged marriage to Richard, Duke of Gavenshire, and her struggles to come to terms with her escape from her poor excuse of a father and the possibility of falling in love, though external forces seek to prematurely end her marriage. The second novella, “Alas My Love,” follows Helena as she escapes from her cruel stepbrother and stepsister to the household of the Duke and Duchess of Gavenshire, where she is reunited with her childhood crush, Tancred, the Duke’s brother. The third story, set in the fourteenth century, follows physician’s daughter Mary Beckett, a capable doctor in her own right, and a knight, Sir Peter Donne, as they travel north for separate purposes; along the way, however, their destinations become the same, and they adopt a passel of children en route. Peterson’s stories are simple, charming, and heartwarming, and the progression of each narrative and love story is whimsical, enjoyable, and easy to read. Fans of historical fiction and romance will enjoy Peterson’s characters, from the honorable men and the stalwart women who appear on her pages, and the majestic settings across medieval England.

The three novellas in this collection read almost like fairy tales thanks to their medieval settings with lords and ladies, castles and knights, and the 'happily ever after' romances in each.

In "A Kingdom Divided" Arianne and Richard agree to an arranged marriage in which she finds kindness and respect for the first time. She is very cautious about opening her heart to her new husband, but he is patient and gentle in winning her over. But it's only when an enemy puts them and everyone in the castle in danger that Arianne truly realizes how much she does love Richard. Initially it seems as though the conflict is resolved almost immediately, since Arianne's opposition to the match is reversed as soon as she realizes that she will probably be safer with Richard than with her abusive father. There are quite a few peaceful chapters with them getting acquainted before the real conflict with the invader begins.

In "Alas, My Love" the main character Helena is also in an abusive home and refuses to submit to the plans her step-siblings try to force upon her. She escapes when they try to confine her to a convent and is taken in by Arianne and Richard when one of their tennants brings her to the castle. Helena has nursed the hope that a young man, Tanny, that she knew when she was a little girl would someday come back and rescue her, and that he is her true love. This is another fairy tale ending reconciliation story, and although I did find the idea that a woman would believe herself genuinely in love with a man she hadn't seen since she was nine years old, the story was one of hope and restoration and quite interesting.

The third story, "If Only" has an unrelated setting and characters, but is still set during the middle ages. The bubonic plague is ravaging England and Mary flees her home when her physician father is attacked by superstitious townsfolk because they believe he is doing the devil's work and has brought the plague upon them. As Mary treks towards York with a vague hope of finding the grandmother she has never met, she takes refuge at a monastery for a time and uses her knowledge of healing to help the monks there. Another traveler, Peter, is there as well, and they join forces for the rest of the journey, and take in several orphaned children along the way. This story was perhaps the most believable of the three in many ways.

The narration style also contributes to the fairy tale quality, because the viewpoint character switches often, with the narrator giving the thoughts, emotions, and reactions of multiple characters. Because the stories are novellas, the characters and conflicts are less developed than in full length novels. My understanding is that this collection is a re-release of Peterson's earlier writing, and I did feel like the writing style didn't have the same depth as other novels of hers that I've read. The stories were enjoyable and interesting, with sweet and clearn romances that would also be suitable for teen or young adult readers, in my opinion.

These three book were a fun read, but the first one I got really annoyed with the main character. How many times can you walk into a trap and get captured?

The first two books go together, the third is not in the same series, or at least not really the same characters.

I would recommend. they are clean, entertaining and well written.

Thank you NetGalley for an aRC in exchange for a fair review.

Okay y'all. I can stop looking for books now. I have found the one book to rule them all.

First, it is set in medieval times. Be still my Robin-Hood-Lovin'-Heart!! Secondly, it is written by Tracie Peterson. A double win! But what is especially interesting about this novel is the overlapping stories. First, we read about Richard and Arianne's story. Then we are given the privilege of reading Helena and Tanny's story. Finally, we discover that Tanny is related to Richard and the plots all begin to meld together. "Kingdom of Love" is an epically written medieval story/romance. So, SO good! Perfect for the winter season and a brilliant way to wrap up the year.

I received this book as a complimentary copy, I was hoping it was a new one. But it was all the older books combined and I still loved re-readong them. They are superb!

This is 3 books republished into one, the first two being related/sequel and the third being a stand alone. All 3 are set in medieval times.

The first two swept me off my feet! I’ve thought about the characters often since completing this book. The main characters! Wow! Arianne, is so real that I felt myself relating to her more than once….although her faith was an example of what I would aspire to be. Tanny struggles to overcome his past and how he views himself in light of his choices. Helena with a love deeper than I can even imagine. These two books will be read again and again in my home.

The third book has a completely different storyline but is also amazing. The underlying lesson of people not being everything they seem (in this case having it all together on the outside but the truth is a vulnerability we all have on the inside) was powerful and the characters are so sweet throughout.

Loved all of these stories!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed this compilation of Regency romance novellas! The first two are tied together, and the third is separate. The stories are original and interesting!

The characters are wonderful! In the first story, I really liked Richard! He is gentle, kind, and a protector. Arianne is strong. She grew up in an abusive house, yet her heart longs for love.

In the second story, Helena also has been abused. She longs for the man she's loved since a child. Tancred was in the first story, and he was angry and hurt. In this story, he gets a second chance at love!

In the third story, Mary is a gifted healer. She suffers a great loss. She meets Peter, my favorite! He's a handsome knight! He's compassionate, kind, a protector, and a man of his word.

Each story has a love story. All rated G!

These are a definite must-read! I was provided a copy of the book from NetGalley and Barbour Publishing. All thoughts

I haven't read medieval in quite some time, but I really enjoyed this collection. I was surprised that the first two books were connected and so assumed the third would be as well, but it is not. These were interesting stories. The first two had a lot of treachery and suspense, while the third was more of a coming to know and understand God during an incredibly hard time in the world. I enjoyed all the stories and especially the romances. I think my favorite though was the first one. Richard and Arianne stole my heart.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through Netgalley and this is my honest review.
