I received an electronic ARC from Harlequin Trade Publishing through NetGalley.
The second book in this series builds on the characters from the first book as well as introducing new ones. Memphis and Diah are strong leads. Each has flaws, and Diah, in particular, carries significant secrets. I appreciate how strong each is and how they balance each other. Foster offers readers the opportunity to be part of the scene and to experience the tensions and joys along with her characters. The campground setting offers unique opportunities for interactions as they prepare for opening it for the season. There truly are things that go bump in the night as the story builds the danger level toward the final scene. And, while this particular crime circle is broken, the readers are left with the knowledge that more exist and these characters will continue to work toward saving victims in future stories.

I adore these Osborn brothers, all alpha mixed with bear, teddy bear, to those they care about and love. Each journey is a stand alone, but, they are brothers, now neighbors, so ... is much more goodness reading both stories. Also, with this being a spin-off from "The McKenzies of Ridge Trail", there are appearances by those amazing and strong characters as they provide back-up whether it's wanted or not LoL.
Excellent drama with action, of course the heat, and all the feels, I couldn't put it down.
Memphis is managing a campground and Jedidiah comes to work for him. Sounds simple, right? Nope, both are hiding some pretty important information which just makes for some really gnarly reading here!!
Realistic situational occurrences had me holding my breath often, and letting it back out again, often. Until I reached the much awaited happy sigh, happy ending I live (or read) for.
I received an ARC through the author and NetGalley. I am giving my own thoughts and opinions truthfully.

Good story but bugged me that it took forever to get to the main plot issue. Didn’t grab me like typical.
~~~~~~~~~
With a female main character, Diah showing up out of nowhere on the male character’s property begging for work, protection and protectiveness kicks in for Memphis. That’s always a good sign that you’re going to find a little suspense sprinkled into the story
Both of the main characters are super strong and well developed. I love their connection to each other. My issue mainly is with the plot, and the fact that you continually had to guess what the problem is and what is hiding in the background.
I did not fully grasp why Memphis randomly buys a campground and is refurbishing it so bad guys can come to it. I kept thinking that maybe he was undercover law-enforcement or something.
He had no job, but had money, however, we don’t know why. There was just something missing in the story I could not connect to. At about 50% or so, Foster started dripping the foreshadowing of the reason but it was not a strong one in my opinion.
The other portion of the suspense line included the female main character and what she was hunting for and running from. This did have a good plot line and was more believable. For me, it was easy to figure out who was who but a little bit confused over the bad actor issue and the tie-in.
Together the two of them do have a great connection and that is what saved the story for me. I loved how much they balanced and played off each other. They are both strong and sweet and that shows up easily. Plus, the Happily Ever After is lovely.
Normally, I am a huge Foster fan and while the story is entertaining, a little bit steamy, and has great characters plus a wonderful dog, it just doesn’t grab me like her other stories usually do. I needed something more in-depth with the plot to suck me in entirely.
From page one, I knew the sparks were going to fly between Diah and Memphis and I totally enjoyed watching their relationship develop despite the secrets that neither of them wanted to talk about. This is a fast moving, emotionally riveting, nail biting story and thrilling all the way to the end! Thanks, NetGalley, for the opportunity to read an advance copy and give an honest review in return
The Fearless One (Osborn Brothers Book 2) by Lori Foster
Five stars is not enough for this book. Is there an Osborn brother for me please. Lori has done it again she grabs you from the start and keeps you on the edge until the end. Jedidiah Stevens (Diah) and Memphis Osborn are both strong H/h even if there are a few hangups. She is trying to find out what happened when her family died in a fire, and he is trying to fight evil. They have a very cute meet that she will never let him forget. There is evil, angst, danger, discovery, we catch up with wonderful family and friends, a loyal dog, romance, learning to trust, and steam that will get us to a HEA. I did not want this book to end.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Funny Action-packed Romantic Steamy Happily Ever After Unpredictable Tear-jerker Haunting Easy-to-read Scary Great world building Tragic Page-turner Wonderful characters Entertaining.
This is the second book in the Osborn brothers series, but it can easily be read as a standalone. In this story we meet Memphis Osborn, who has decided to buy and open a campground to help support the “family efforts” of keeping peace and order. As Memphis is working to get the campground open in stumbles a woman named Jedidiah, who refuses to leave until he gives her a job. She is a persistent hard worker, who has his brother Hunter and sister in law Jodi’s recommendation, but it is clear she is hiding something. As the two dance around each other harboring their own secrets it’s clear there is a lot of chemistry. Only time will tell if they can learn to trust each other enough to open up and take things further. This was an action packed story full of romance, mystery, and a lovable dog. And if you are familiar with the Osborn series, and the McKenzies of Ridge Trails series, you’ll love seeing some of your favorite characters appear in this story. I received an ARC, and this is my honest review.
Memphis Osborn bought a rundown campground with the intention of getting it up and operational, but not necessarily for your average camper. He’s hoping the isolated campground will attract a seedier element. He has his reasons for this. He had no plans to hire anyone, let alone Jedediah (Diah) Stevens, the woman who shows up unannounced. But his brother convinces him to hire her so he reluctantly does, but he’s suspicious about why a young woman would be out here alone in the wilderness with her dog.
Diah is searching for the truth regarding the death of her family, and her search has led her here to the campground. She just isn’t sure yet what she’s looking for.
The more Memphis gets to know Diah and sees how much help she is, his feelings start to grow. He’s not sure what she seems to be searching for around the campground, but she hasn’t caused any harm or done any damage, so he leaves her alone. For now. But when trouble shows up at the campground, his protective instincts take over. He’s determined to keep her safe, along with a few other individuals he’s recently hired. But will that be possible once he sees what he’s up against?
I loved this book!
So I loved this terrific story. Diah and Memphis were so cute and in the favs from the other stories and it so worth the read. It was well written and had some mystery and if course a happy ending. Diah is figuring out her way to move on in life and Memphis helps her in so many ways. I don't want to give anything away, but she learns to trust and Memphis is quite the protective teddy bear in my eyes. Standing up when needed can be hard, but she does. Also you'll love Tuff, the best friend besides Madison we all want. This is my honest review for a book I volunteered to read
In “The Fearless One” (Osborn Brothers #2) by Lori Foster we are introduced to Memphis Osborn and Jedidiah (Diah) Stephens. Memphis knows she’s up to something when she shows up looking for a job at his run-down campground and until he can figure out what it is he is going to keep her close.
Characters you can’t help but love, including a very lovable Tuff. So happy to see the McKenzie family brought back into the fold, as well as Jodi and Hunter.
I received an advanced readers copy of this book, and this is my honest voluntary review.
What an amazing, emotional, pull you in the from the first page and hold you captive story! Lori will take you on a journey of learning to trust the people now in your life, while learning to love, and how to love! 5 Fearless Stars for this one!
Jedidiah has lost the only person in her life who ever cared for her after losing her family. But now her curiosity about what happened to them, is front and center for her so that she can finally try to live her life without having to look over her shoulder. When she lands at the campground, pretty much begging Memphis for a job, he knows there is more to her story, but he takes her in anyway. Memphis has his own plans for the campground, and having Diah here only complicates it, but he will keep her safe, and away from the elements he's trying to bring in to the camp.
Sit back with a cup of coffee and watch their story unfold, this one will have you hooked from the start!
The Fearless One
By Lori Foster
Release Date December 26 2023
Another great book in the Osborne Brothers series. But no worries this book and definitely be read as a standalone. However, why would you want to miss out on anything. You have plenty of time to catch up with the first book in the series.
THE DANGEROUS ONE
This story is about Jedediah, Stevens, a.k.a. Diah. She is a woman on a mission.
And Memphis Osborn is also on a mission of his own.
Diah comes from a very troubled past. She has been on the run for most of her life. But especially for the past two years. She has basically been living off the land with her backpack, her tent, and her dog Tuff.
She needs to find answers. She needs to stay undercover. And she needs to find a job because she is almost out of money.
Memphis buys a run down campground and he has big plans for it. These plans are definitely not what you would think they would be. The campground is very isolated and it just so happens that Jedediah was actually heading to this campground to find some answers.
When Jedediah shows up at the campground Memphis is a bit suspicious. But Diah is not leaving! Memphis ends up, giving her a job after finding out that she came recommended by his sister-in-law. They are immediately drawn to each other. And Memphis definitely knows that Diah is hiding something.
This is an absolute page turner. It’s one of those books that you just cannot put down. There is so much going on that you just cannot stop reading.
I absolutely loved this story between Jedediah and Memphis and I highly recommend it!
Thank you to Lori Foster for allowing me to read this ARC in return for my honest opinion.
This one grabbed me from the start and didn't let go until the end. Diah shows up unexpectedly at Memphis' campground- catching him in a funny, awkward moment- ready to start her new job. Memphis is reluctant to hire Diah but with his brother, Hunter, and his wife, Jodi, insisting he needs her he relents. It's clear Diah has secrets and a troubled past, which brings out Memphis' protective instincts. Trying to keep an eye on Diah and forge ahead with his own plans for the campground, Memphis gets much needed help from Remmy and at a crucial moment his BFF Madison (lol). What a fantastic, intense, surprisingly sweet and all around great read!
Secrets, intrigue, and a dash of suspense, Foster’s latest book was a wild read! Opening up with one hilariously smexy shower scene, Jedidiah and Memphis’s story only grew from there. I loved the twists and turns as Diah tried to find answers about her past and Memphis quietly found ways to help her. I also enjoyed revisiting old characters and being introduced to new ones! I’m definitely looking forward to the next couple’s story, which is already hinting at being my favorite of the series.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book from the author/Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What a great story! Suspense, intrigue, and love. I loved how Diah was determined to find out her past and stop being afraid, and Memphis knew there was something else going on with her but was there to help her through it all. I loved having Hunter and Jodi in the story, as well as are my, in the story. Thanks to Net Galleg and Lori Foster for an ARC for my honest review
Diah is desperate for not only a job but to find the clue that will let her live her life without fear. Memphis is setting up the campground to draw out unsavory characters. Meeting Diah was the one thing he didn’t plan on. I loved how patient he was with Diah and showed Diah she could trust him. The twists and turns kept me so captivated! Read it!!
I absolutely loved this story. I admired Diah so much for everything she went through. And her dog Tuff was so adorable. But Memphis. *SIGH* He was just so patient and kind and absolutely hot! Together Diah and Memphis were electric. Really loved their dynamic and how they built the trust needed to make their relationship work. Throw in some bad guys and some action and you've got an amazing read. Lori Foster never disappoints. I love this book. This series. This world she has created. I love everything Lori Foster writes.
