I couldn’t put this down. I loved how the book moved between the perspectives of the characters and slowly filled in the missing blanks the author left as bread crumbs. I laughed, cried, and at times was yelling at my book, annoyed at a character or unspoken story line. The ending was PHENOMENAL! I didn’t see it coming and expected something completely different - that last chapter… unreal! Definitely now belongs in my top favourite books!

I loved this book! The writing was perfection! The character portrayals were spot on; I loved each of them. This story was tender, yet strong, and sad, yet happy.

We don't know what the next moment will bring, so live your life and cherish your people.

I went into this one not totally sure what to expect and came away pleasantly surprised. It was so well written and I felt such a connection to all of the characters in this book and truly felt invested in where this story would take them. I always enjoy a touch of magical realism and the idea of getting to look back on your life and see all the little things that were easy to miss. Giving One Moment 4 stars rounded up from 3.5. I want to thank NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Talk about all the feels! Excellent writing, wonderful story, very original. I love what the author did with this book. I’m not usually the type of person who feels a ton of emotions while reading, but I could feel what the main character was going through with her loss, her love, all the things. Becky Hunter has outdone herself.

This contemporary novel was both funny and heartbreaking. It was so beautifully written. The narration from Scarlett was beautifully done and was so compelling to me. The friendship between Scarlett and Evie and how Evie was essentially struggling to make sense of life without her best friend in it was very relatable. While it had sad moments, this wasn’t a sad book. It was about love, friendship and so many other wonderful things. I found it to be joyful and about seizing every moment.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!

One Moment by Becky Hunter is one of those books that had me smiling and crying and even crying while smiling. I loved the premise, I loved the characters, I loved the author's voice. It's been a while since I finished One Moment, and I'm still thinking about so many moments from Hunter's story. Highly recommend!!!!!!

This book is so different from anything I have ever read! The story is told from two perspectives and is a heart-warming tale of friendship that goes the distance. Books about friendship are plentiful, but this one is very special and unique. I loved it and highly recommend it!

I received a complimentary copy of this book "One Moment" and all opinions expressed are my own. I enjoyed reading this book. I liked the characters and the story line. One decision changes your whole life but you can't go back and fix it. It was sad but also hopeful. Life can change in an instant. Love the friendship between Evie and Scarlett.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book slammed me right in the feels.

A story of two best friends, processing grief, love and loss. It was a very emotional book that made me reflect a lot about myself and the decisions that I make on a daily basis. As a person with disabilities and chronic illness the disability representation in this was bang on and very relatable.

An excellent debut that should not be missed.

First, special thanks to NetGalley and Atlantic books for the opportunity to read this eARC!

I went into One Moment without having read the blurb, and I am so glad because it provided me with a unique reading experience. Initially I assumed One Moment to be one of many books about best friends learning to be better for each other, and while this is not entirely untrue of the book, the framing of death and life and love make it such an interesting read!

The initial ~60 or so pages were rather slow and difficult to get through, but the pay off was well worth it by the end. Scarlett, Evie, and Nate’s stories weave together so beautifully. Evie being a musician touched a part of my heart as it is every musician’s fear to lose their craft due to physical ailments or illness. Seeing this played out through her struggles with MS was very well written.

After reading this book I just want to give my best friend a hug, and I imagine you will too. Definitely recommend. Four stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for a digital ARC of One Moment.

WOW. What a phenomenal debut. I devoured this in two days. I love emotional reads and this was exactly that. It tug at my heart, brought tears to my eyes, and gave me butterflies. It was a beautiful story about friendship and figuring out what matters in life and finding one's self and of course, love. This one will stick with me for a while and Becky Hunter has become an author I will automatically buy from. The characters, I loved them all and I love the depth they had. The plot itself was fresh and executed flawlessly. I don't have enough words. Just the perfect, emotional, read.

I truly wanted to love this book. The premises sounded devastating but amazing. The author chose to tackle a lot of heavy subjects in one book: death, suicide and Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis to name a few. While representation is incredibly important and appreciated- there’s a fine line of where research and understanding of the chronic illness can get mixed up. As a person who lives with Multiple Sclerosis, seeing a MC with MS is absolutely amazing. I felt this book would be a great tool to bring understanding and awareness, unfortunately I found myself reading a book that is based off stereotypes and barely scratching the surface of what MS really is. MS is a lot more then the “I’m not drunk, I have MS” stereotype.

I really enjoyed One Moment. I found it an easy book to become engrossed with and it had an interesting storyline. The ending was a tad predictable but fitting. I especially loved the final chapter. I definitely recommend this book to other readers. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I've been reading a bunch of romance lately and I loved that this book was first and foremost about a friendship. I also loved the portrayal of the chronic illness in all the small and big ways. I think the dramatic side gets covered often but not the small, daily difficulty of how it might feel to live with one.

If you're looking for something light that will make you cry and laugh and something romantic but also a little different, this is the book for you.

Evie and Scarlett have been best friends since childhood. On one fateful day, Scarlett stops to help a fallen biker and is hit by a car. Evie, who is devastated to lose her best friend, is also dealing with an MS diagnosis that has forced her to quit playing the violin. Nate, the biker that Scarlett helped, intorduces himself to Evie, and the two begin spending time together. Evie struggles with her budding friendship with Nate, as she sees him as the reason Scarlett died. However, he does not treat her as broken as her ex-boyfriend did. Evie also meets her young neghber, teenage Astird, who is an aspiring violinist. The narration alternates between Evie and a deceased Scarlet who is able to see past memories and the present. I appreicate that the book deals with both grief and chronic illness.
