This book had many of the components of a sweet, quick read that many chick lit readers are drawn to including a small town love story and a shy girl getting the guy.

The female protagonist sometimes did grate me in the style of “librarian takes her glasses off and is secretly a bombshell, but never knew it” way that I find unrealistic and for the male gaze. I appreciated though that she was smart and dedicated to her career. It was great to see her confidence grow and to see how the male protagonist continued to support her.

Overall, it was a fun read!

This was a delightful rom com novel and a great start to a new series. There is an unlikely pairing of a chemistry teacher and a football coach at Vista High. It is heartwarming and I loved the humor.
Many thanks to Sealed With A Swoon Books and to Netgalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Stacey is a high school chemistry teacher, she is a self proclaimed nerd, doesn’t understand the hype of any sport, and has a history of being unlucky in love. Reece is the new head football coach, facing a losing record and unhelpful assistant coach, he is determined to turn the season around and secure his job. The last thing he expected was the instant spark with the chemistry teach when he goes to talk about some of his players failing grades, but after a chance early morning run in and the perfect coffee formula, Reece finds certain chemistry is off-the-charts undeniable!

This was a cute and fast read! The MCs are older, the attraction and tension is hot but feels very realistic. Reece was so sweet, honest, and open. Stacey is a self-proclaimed nerd and has never gotten the hype of sports but the way she shows Reece her interest with football was really sweet. This was a low angst and sweet book; and while a slow burn and more “tame” spice, it packed a punch that made me really feel the heat. 🥵 This book was perfect formula for a sweet romance, sweet with heat and relatable MCs. This was new to me author and I am excited to read book 2 in the series that is already out.

I love a workplace romance, especially when one of the characters has a secret from their past that they are keeping hidden (that isn't toxic or harmful, just a little mysterious), and Off the Charts Chemistry has that in spades! Stacey Kinsella is a small-town chemistry teacher who becomes the unlikely friend and then more than friends with the new football coach, Reece Caldwell.

This is a sweet, small-town workplace slow burn that had me smiling the entire time.

Unfortunately I did not finish this book. The plot and the characters seemed interesting enough but it was a little spicier than I wanted. I did try to flip through some of the parts that were less appealing to me but ultimately did not finish. I think it was a good book just not for me.

Hey there! Just finished diving into this one, and let me tell you, it was like being wrapped in a warm hug on a rainy day! The romance? Swoon-worthy! The characters? Utterly charming! I laughed, I cried (happy tears, of course), and I couldn't stop grinning like a fool. It's the kind of book that makes you believe in love all over again. Seriously, it's a must-read!

This is a fast paced, easy romantic read. The relationship between the two main characters is so sweet it will make your heart melt.

Off the Charts Chemistry was a very cute romance with lovable characters and adorable banter. I enjoyed the characters and how their romance developed. It also included lovable side kicks that I hope make appearances in the next books. There were some times where the dialogue was a little cringey but nothing so horrible it made me not want to continue. There was room for improvement in the grammatical editing and making the conversations flow more. I found some of the conversations to not come across as conversational and written in a way that would not be natural in a regular conversation. Overall, I enjoyed the cute and lightness of this romance and would be open to reading the next installments. I think with some editing and creating more flow in the conversations, this could be a really good read.

I'm always a sucker for the gym-teacher-guy and nerdy-teacher-girlie trope 😵‍💫😍

the thing that is a major positive thing for the book but wasn't really working for me is their age. though hers is never specified (I think), it's said several times he's 40. BUT it can easily be ignored, his manner of speaking feels pretty young imo so it wasn't hard to picture them as a couple of 20 something year-olds. now this means people who want to read about real adults romance and those looking for younger adults romance can both find their happiness here🌞

it was really soft and cute, not my preferred cup of tea tbh I wish he had the opportunity to defend her in some way shape or form but for the cozy readers you can dive in with your eyes closed 🙏

now what really annoyed me is the not so subtle repetition of "devilish grin". I counted, the term devilish in relation to his grins appears exactly 13 times. the book isn't long enough to balance it out, his grins are literally never qualified as anything other than devilish 👿

loved the students subplot, they felt like real high-school boys and not just sub characters added in the background to thicken the story🤌

This book was really fast paced and I read in just a few hours. As a woman in STEM my self I really enjoyed this, and where I've read some books with awkward FMC's earlier, this was not definitely awkward at all. It was really well executed, and I'm very excited to continue reading this series.

Smart and somewhat introverted Stacey gets drawn out of her comfort zone of the chemistry lab when she meets the new coach, Reece and gets ensnared into helping him gain footage at his new school and job. The author tackled the unsavory behind the scenes reality of sports management, creating exposure and following it through to its gratifying resolution. Equally humorous and serious at intervals ,this book was well written and kept you intrigued, anticipating what would happen next and how it would affect the budding relationship between the main characters.

Thank you to Sealed with a Swoon Books LLC and Christine Miles for my eGalley copy of this book via NetGalley.

Stacy is the self-proclaimed nerdy (and football hating) chemistry teacher at Brigid's Vista High School (BVHS), and Reece is the new football coach who is affectionately known as "the sexiest man to ever walk the halls of BVHS", so Stacy never expects to do more than simply cross paths with the dreamboat. However, after one awkward run-in between the two in her classroom, both can clearly feel the unmistakable chemistry they have with one another. Can Stacy overcome the trauma her previous relationships caused and let herself fully fall again, and can Reece let Stacy in while also dealing with the stress of a new coaching job after the last went so poorly?

This was a cute low-stakes romance set in a stereotypical small town. I did enjoy the beginning of the book, though as it went on I felt like I was having to force myself to get through it. I did like the characters, but the dialogue felt flat, and the writing came across as too straightforward/boring (this isn't something I typically call out or bother mentioning, so the fact that I am should highlight how significant it was). Also, I think the length of the novel could have been cut down, because a great deal of description felt repetitive. I think there were too many characters introduced, it was hard to keep track of them all, but I know this will be a series so I assume that will get better as the series progresses and you see those characters return.

That being said, this really was a sweet book, and I think it would be great for anyone looking for a read that is simple and guarantees HEA feelings throughout the whole book.

Off-The-Charts Chemistry, is exactly as the title suggests. Super cute romance between the book loving science nerd and the chemistry teacher.
This was a fast paced book.

An easy to devour opposites-to-lovers small town open door rom-com. A bit more sports than stem, but the perfect steamy chemistry of both.

Since the moment sexy head football coach Reece gazes upon self-proclaimed quirky science teacher Stacey in an awkward classroom meet cute, they can’t seem to stop bumping into each other. Finding each other tangled in small town scandals when it comes to careers and love.

Stacey and Reece are relationship goals. Seriously. Mature main characters with strong morals and values. The support of their extended family and friends. Developing real friendship with healthy communication skills and an undeniable physical attraction. Imperfect pasts with the relentless understanding and support of one another’s dreams. Plenty of internal conflict, just not with each other. Individually they may have found themselves undesirable — but together they are a smart and sexy journey to self-confidence and redemption!

2.5 stars rounded down. I read this book in an evening. In the end, it was just ok for me. A good way to pass the time, but not very memorable. Like a tv series you binge in a night but can't remember the name of the next day.

Is there anything nicer than a (mostly) wholesome small town romance? I adored this book, the story line and the characters; it's an easy charming read with a lovely opposites attract vibe. Smart definitely is sexy and this has some great sub-plots surrounding high school football which was fun to read.
