Max Monroe hits another one out of the park. I loved this book! I could not put it down.
This is the story of an elementary school math teacher, Katy, who is extremely irritated by the music teacher next door, always making so much noise. Mack is a kind-hearted take it as it comes kind of guy who knows he rubs Katy the wrong way.
Then, they have to work on a committee together and wind up sharing a vacation rental for a week. What ensues is hilarious, hot, and romance perfection. I can't recommend this one enough!

“Best Frenemies” is the story of Katy, a math teacher, and Mack, a music teacher, who work together at a private elementary school in New York. Although their classrooms are right next door to one another, Katy and Mack do not get along. So when Katy heads to Destin for Spring Break, she is shocked to find Mack at the condo she booked. An accidental double booking means these “frenemies” are forced to be vacation roommates. Will these two, with seemingly nothing in common, find a way to coexist?
This was such a fun and steamy book with all of my favorite tropes: enemies to lovers, vacation romance, forced proximity, one bed, and dual POVs. I did not want to stop listening to this audiobook and finished the entire thing in one day. CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese were the perfect narrators, and I could not stop laughing out loud. This was my first Max Monroe book, and I will definitely be reading more!
Thank you to NetGalley and Max Monroe for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a fun, quick read, guaranteed to have you cracking up throughout.
Katy is a by-the-books elementary teacher in NYC, so nothing infuriates her more than her goofball, laidback coworker Mack and his teaching methods. Her saving grace? A vacation to Florida to escape it all. So what are the odds when she gets to her vacation destination and finds the condo she rented had been overbooked…by none other than Mack. Plenty of hijinks ensue as they see each other in a different light and maybe even some romance blooms to change everything. This is great for fans of romcoms and enemies to lovers!
Narrators CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese really brought the many characters to life.
Thank you to NetGalley & Max Monroe for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. This is out 9/16!

I LOVE Max Monroe’s writing. I read 75% of this on a plane and I had to reign it in and keep from laughing out loud. The banter is great and makes for a quick entertaining read. I will read anything these two write! I will say, the trope at 75% isn’t for me, but it was well done. It wrapped up pretty dang quick after that but I enjoyed! Can’t wait for the next one!
Thank you NetGalley for eALC in exchange for an honest review!

An ARC review:
This is the first book I got to review as ARC and it was an easy, funny, entertaining and sometimes heartwarming story. I love the enemy-turn-lover storyline and this book did not disappoint! I loved the sassy back and forth but there were also many moments that got me going 'awwwwwwwww.' There were definitely steamy moments too!
Another thing I loved was the support group our male protagonist had and would love to read their stories!
Overall a great start to my NetGalley journey!

I really enjoyed the narrators of this story, they perfectly brought to life the characters which I have already read. I really enjoy audiobooks because I think they add a new perspective to the story, and this one definitely delivered!
this is such a fun, sweet story! I loved Katy and Mack, especially once they establish their little truce while on their vacation and really start being into each other. At the beginning I found Mack kind of obnoxious (like eating the doughnut...that was ridiculous), but once he and Katy become more friends than enemies, they were really cute together! the thing that absolutely sold me on Mack though is when he surprises Katy for her birthday, his sweetness really shined then :)
as advertised, this book is absolutely hilarious! against the warning label, I did listen to this book while driving and laughed out loud constantly (no issues though lol :)) I really enjoyed Accidental Attachment, and loved the little references back to that story in this one.
Overall, very cute, sweet, fun, spicy story that was a quick read for me :)
thank you for the ARC!!!!

While this book had a trope I usually try to avoid, I still found it a pleasant and fun read.
This is a great book for those who don't have trouble suspending disbelief as some of the scenarios required it.
Pick this up if you like sweet, family stories with silly side characters.

This book! I just loved it! Mack & Katy are frenemies and teachers at the same school with classrooms right next door to each other. When a vacation mishap causes them to share a rental a hilarious turn of events turn into some steamy and heartfelt moments.
Mack totally shot to amazing book boyfriend status. Even though he was a complete goofball his actions and things he did for Katy were perfection. Katy definitely made him work for it but I loved that she melted for him too.
It's a feel good book that will have you laughing and swooning. I received an audio copy and the narrators were an absolute perfect fit!

Although I do love an enemies to lovers book this slightly fell flat. I didn't feel they were really enemies or it wasn't shown enough before getting together. Also I did not like when it was the Macs POV and his imitation of Katie's voice.

This book had me laughing at so many parts! As a former elementary teacher who still subs, I loved the fact that the main characters were teachers at an elementary school. Some of the moments where the kids were cutting up are so spot on! The chemistry between Katy and Mack was spicy, I loved every minute of their enemies to lovers story.
Katy Dayton teaches at an elementary school where she loves her job. Well loves it besides constantly telling the music teacher next door to keep it down. Mack is an attractive, go with the flow teacher who gets on Katy’s last nerve.
When she makes spring break plans to finally get away with her best friend, she cannot wait until school is released for break. Until her friend bails with a case of flu. As luck would have it, the condo is double booked with none other than her arch nemesis: Mack. What else could possibly go wrong, right? But that’s just the beginning. Their week-long vacay is full of crying-worthy and laugh out loud moments. As they closer, she wonders how things will play out when they return to their normal lives.
I highly recommend this book! It’s the perfect mix of spicy, heartwarming and laughing out loud.

Max Monroe does it again! Rom-com, smut, and plenty of laughs - what more could you ask for? I flew through this book faster than Thatch can make a Cassie crack! I love that you can read these books as a standalone read, but love even more that there is extra humor and fun if you've read the stories of some of the other characters! Can't wait for the next book!

3.5 rounded up to 4. I listened to this on audio book which had both positive and its negative points. It made me laugh out loud in parts how they joked at the genre but it also was a little cringe when the male voice got to the 🌶️🌶️🌶️ parts. That’s just my personal preference though nothing against the reader personally. This was my first Max Monroe novel so I didn’t know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised. Very fun ride and sweet couple of frenemies to lovers ♥️ Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this audiobook ARC.

This was a laugh out loud funny book that makes for a quick and entertaining read. It follows two elementary school teachers/ enemies who are forced to spend some time together after finding out they rented the same unit for spring break. It was fun to see what started as a vacation fling turn into something more and all their adventures (especially the gas station food run… which had me loling). I also loved how there were some cameos from previous books integrated throughout the story.
What to expect:
-Enemies to lovers
-Co-workers
-Math and art teachers
-Forced proximity
-Road trip
-NYC school
-Spring break
-Low angst

Best Frenemies is a Romcom about teachers who don't see eye to eye but are secretly attracted to each other. Katy is all about rules and order whereas Mack is all about having fun and enjoying life. Everyone loves Mack except Katy, she considers him her archnemesis. They both end up staying at the same vacation rental at the same time, which Katy is furious about but Mack is the opposite and is excited to spend time with her. But the more they spend time together, the more they fight their attraction to each other.
If you like the following, you will enjoy this book:
- Romcom
- Opposites Attract
- Enemies to Lovers (one sided enemy)
- Good banter
- Hot teachers
- Cute nicknames.
I listened to the audio book and felt torn about the narrators. I liked the female narrator but struggled to like the male narrator. It felt like he was over the top trying too hard and I did not like his portrayal of a female voice. I feel like their voices did not mesh well for this story. I still enjoyed the book but I probably would have enjoyed the story more by reading it instead.
Overall it is a funny cute story sprinkled with some spice.

I'm craving a Big Mack! Best Frenemies by Max Monroe was a laugh-out-loud, enemies-to-lovers teacher romance that I absolutely devoured in one sitting. These ladies brought their OG wit and charm that I’m obsessed with and LOVE with Mack and Katy’s romance. Plus, with the infamous Thatcher Kelly showing up in the first chapter, you knew you were in for one hilarious ride. Mack’s charismatic and loveable confidence made him so easy to love, and one great music teacher. However, in the bedroom, he sure knew how to ramp up the delicious dirty talk! Katy’s drive and dedication to her teaching career were admirable, and I couldn’t help but cheer for her when she finally let her hair down and gave in to her desire for Mack! Also, the sexual tension and chemistry between these two is HOT right from the start.
This audiobook was so much fun! Both CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese truly embodied their characters, and made this a delightful listen!
Overall I LOVED this book! If you are a fan of an enemies-to-lovers romance with a hot hunky music teacher, a dedicated math teacher, Calhoun Elementary, spring breaking in Florida, forced proximity, ocean mishaps, birthday surprises, super hot steamy times, spicy repeats, eighteen-hour road trips, Thatcher mother fluffin Kelly, outspoken students, a career day gone wrong, Staten Island Ferry rides, more surprises, and a HEA worth the grand gesture, then you will love Katy and Mack’s story. I always look forward to more from my fave romcom queens, Max Monroe.

This was my first book from Max Monroe and it certainly won't be my last. It was so cute, laugh out loud funny and had the perfect amount of spice for a fun rom-com. The audiobook was really good. It took me a little bit to get over Alexander Cendese's overzealousness, but it fit Mack's character, so it didn't bother me too much. CJ Bloom is one of my favorite narrators, so I was really excited to see her as Katie too.
The premise was perfect. Type A Katie can't stand wild and crazy hottie, Mack and they're rivals with the best banter. After a vacation snafu leaves them in a forced proximity situation, she realizes he's not some hot shot without a care in the world and is actually so kind and loving. I really loved watching these two go from rivals to frenemies to lovers.
I also really enjoyed the third act, so often we get a break up in rom-coms, but the way these two worked out their issues was perfect. Katie's family cracked me up time and time again as well. And according to the author's note at the end of this audiobook it sounds like I have some catching up to do in this world and I can't wait.

Katy is a type A math teacher who happens to be in the classroom next to Mack who is the crazy music teacher. Over spring break, they both somehow booked the same rental house and end up having to share space. As they spend more time together, Mack does not get on Katy’s nerves like he normally did at school and he is teaching her to let go and embrace the now. Not to mention, he was there for her when she got hurt and took care of her.
This was such a cute rom com and I love seeing an opposites attract trope. There were some spicy scenes and I loved how the characters from Accidental Attachment were mentioned a few times with Brooke being a career day speaker at the school as well. Some of the makeup scenes at school bothered me as a past teacher but this was still such a cute book! The narrators did a great job.

I loved this story so much! The only thing that bothered me was the Male MC’s narrator. The voice for me just didn’t match.

I was lucky enough to get an audio ARC of this book and it was fabulous.
I laughed OUT LOUD so many times. The banter between Mack and Katy is chefs kiss. These two couldn’t be more opposite- Katy, Type A; always in control; never really going outside her lines; absolutely despises Mack for existing.
Mack is a fun loving, charming “boyish” man who everyone adores, except Katy. He’s kind and goes above and beyond.
When Mack and Katy end up accidentally stuck together on a trip, Katy learns that maybe Mack isn’t so bad after all.
But Katy soon starts to color outside of the lines of her life, doing things and forgetting things she never would have prior to Mack, but these two can’t stop thinking about each other.
This was the romcom I didn’t know I needed; filled with amazing banter, hilarious moments, and the best opposites attract, close proximity vibes you need in your life, because I binged this one, it was so good.

Book Review: Best Frenemies by Max Monroe
I was so excited to read a book about teachers going into the new school year! Best Frenemies had all of the signature humor and spice that I have come to love in a Max Monroe book with some fun cameos by other loved Max Monroe characters (anytime Thatch is there I am here for it!).
Katy and Mack are elementary school teachers whose classrooms share a wall… Katy teaches math and can’t stand Mack’s boisterous teaching style in his music classroom. When they end up at a double booked vacation rental on spring break they find out that they just might have more to connect over than they have keeping them apart.
I really loved a lot of this book… but as a teacher I got hung up on some of the things the characters did that made me cringe- the only reason this book was four stars instead of five for me. The banter and spice were great, the side characters were fun, I loved hearing what was going on in the lives of other familiar characters.
