Thank you Netgalley for the audio arc!
This was a fun time. Katy is a math teacher and can't stand her neighbor teacher, music teacher, Mack. All she wants to do is go to Destin, Florida for spring break and drink her nice wine away from the chaos of New York. Unfortunately, a mix-up with the website where she booked the house leads to Mack also staying at the house. They end up agreeing to spend the week together and Mack is determined to get Katy to like him. After Katy cuts her foot on a seashell at the beach, Mack takes care of her, even under the influence of morphine, she realizes that the line between hate and love is a lot smaller than she thought.
Mack was such a golden retriever, but sometimes he was a little over the top. Same with the comedy of this. There were some moments that could have been more serious, but they were over the top with the comedic aspects. I still had a great time with this though!

My first book by Max Monroe and I enjoyed it!
Witty humor, fun shenanigans, moments of chuckles.
If you’re looking for a quick, funny read, this will do the trick.
I think the narrators did a great job. I like that Alexander, male narrator, had a quirky tone- almost comical. Didn’t love his feminine voice though.
Thanks NetGalley for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars rounded to 4
The narration: CJ Bloom did a great job reading as Katie. Alexander Cendese, on the other hand, read waaay too quickly, like a kid trying to rush through the paragraph they have to read in front of the class. It just wasn't enjoyable and switching between the two paces was jarring.
The story: It did a good job with the enemies-to-lover trope but I'm just never in love with the goodie-two-shoes FMC. Overall the story didn't hold my attention the whole time and I didn't like that, in order for the two main characters to start to connect, heavy medication was required. The spice was nice, though.

Lighthearted romcom fun.
Some old faves in there too.
Enjoyed these narrators and the story overall.

4.5. This has a lot of funny moments. Right from the start! Hero and heroine Started off not liking each other.
Great build up to a sweet and funny romance. Really fun side characters. I enjoy this writing duo's books. RomCom is life. I love CJ Bloom's narration & getting more and more acquainted with Alexander Cendese.

Definitely not my kind of listening escape. The audiobook was a disappointment for me . I did like the dual narration but not thrilled with the content.

I could not finish this book.
For me, it was a case of secondhand embarrassment.
I persevered through the first three chapters but I couldn't go any further. Maybe it improved by the end but I'm not going back to find out.
What I listened to was a solid first draft but it needed another go over.

This book was unfortunately not for me and I had to DNF this one because the narrator's voice was grating and the male MC was also annoying. He seemed very misogynistic and I just simply couldn't listen anymore
DNFed at 20%
Maybe he improves in later chapters, but readers who cannot forget a character's past transgressions easily like me might have difficulty with this book

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Best Frenemies has so many laugh out loud parts it is awkward to listen to in public (yes there was a warning for this prior to beginning but believe it!). Mack and Katie is a take on enemies to lovers. They are coworkers as teachers at a school and end up renting the same vacation home for a week. The chemistry and flirting between them is instantaneous. Note that there is a surprise pregnancy if this is a trigger for you.
Overall loved this one and thought it was very entertaining. Surprise pregnancies are not always my favourite so the first 3/4 of the book would be a 5 star with the last quarter taking a star off for that. Still recommend to others, and also recommend the audio as both speakers were fantastic.

Another love story by Max Monroe- Enemy to Lover cute romcom. Pefect beach/vacation love story. Mack is music teacher fun and full of life. Kathy is math teacher very stricked and serious. Now by accident they are stuck together on vacation. Longer they are together they relized their oposites attracts to each other. I very much enjoyed a story.

This book was so cute. I was not expecting much when I heard the first chapter. Mac sounded so bro-y, and I wasn't sure if I was going to he able to like him, but he ended up being so great. I loved the billionaires who were so supportive of each other and started a romance book club to help one of the guys woo his girl. So freaking cute ❤️ I wish nothing but the best for Katie and Mac. They remind me of my husband and me (except reverse), and I'm rooting for them!

This is the funnies romance stories I’ve listened to this year. This book has everything. Enemies to Lovers, unexpected forced proximity, perfect amount of spice, great chemistry between the characters. I fell in love with Katy and Mack’s relationship! You could cut the sexual tension with a knife! I laughed out loud more times than I could count, it was fast pace, and the ending truly made my heart feel so full! I needed a good laugh and distraction from the real world. This was exactly what I needed!

I received this as an audiobook ARC and this was my first experience with Max Monroe's work. I have to say I had an absolute blast while listening to this! Before you begin the story, the audiobook gives explicit instructions on where NOT to listen, and all I can say is it's a good idea to heed those warnings, because I found myself bursting out laughing multiple times throughout. Luckily, I was listening in my car, so I was safe. 🙂
This enemies to lovers story between two teachers, Mack and Katy, who accidentally ended up booking the same vacation rental for spring break, was just plain fun and flirty, and I had such a good time listening. They certainly end up in a hot mess and the reader/listener gets a front row seat to all the fun. The characters of Katy and Mack were well-crafted, each lovable in their own way, and the storyline flowed smoothly and had me glued all the way through. I enjoyed every moment of it and I can't wait to find more books by this author to devour. The narration was also very well done, each one really bringing the characters of Katy and Mack to life. Really enjoyed this!
Thank you Netgalley and the author for providing a complimentary copy. This is my honest and voluntary review.

The first book in this series was honestly a miss for me, so I was a little apprehensive about this one, but I enjoyed it! It was the type of quirky rom-com that I expect from this writing duo. Steamy and laugh out loud funny, but wth some sweetness. Looking forward to what's next!

This was a new to me author. I wasn’t sure what to expect from going in, but I am so glad I went into this book blind. It was very entertaining, and I loved Mac and Katie’s banter. The entire book Mac was definitely my favorite, and I think that he carried the story for me.

OMG. This is STINKING CUTE. Best Frenemies is definitely included on my favorite books of 2023. It's an enemies to lovers, forced proximity, friends to lovers and office romance. I'm glad that my second attempt listening to this is worthwhile. I'm enjoying every second of banters, sexual tension and sizzling chemistry. I had a good laugh on certain parts. Mack and Katy's rivalry certainly makes you want to get a popcorn and witness them throwing fireworks at each other. Two teachers with different teaching styles working together on a project together for their students? SIGN ME UP. The fling these two have? SPICY.
I love the narration of this book. CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese delivered it with ease. There is one part that I didn't like (view spoiler) Anyways, the ending is really sweet. If you need a feel-good romance, I recommend Best Frenemies. I am looking forward to read Brooke Baker's story because I LOVE CRUSH TO LOVERS. THAT IS MY WEAKNESS.

Once again Max Monroe has written an amazing story that I thoroughly enjoyed! I loved Mac Attack and Katie Kat - their enemies to lovers/best frienemies was perfect and felt so real. The narration was fantastic and it made me love the book so much more!

Best Frenemies offered an enjoyable take on the 'hate to love' trope. Mack and Katy shared a dynamic back-and-forth relationship that kept you engaged in the story. This book was a delightful blend of humor and spiciness, making it an ideal choice for a relaxing read at the beach. ⛱️

If you just want a fun, escapist read, here you go....this novel is for you. Katy and Mack journey through the novel in the fast lane of witty, and bawdy, banter. It's a fun read; go on spring break with them.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
This was such a fun enemies to lovers meets forced proximity romcom. I loved all the banter between the two main characters, Katy and Mack, but I loved even more their individual personalities and how they both were teachers at the same school.
The turn of events that brought Katy and Mack together was definitely my favorite part of the book and the story how it unfolded was just genius! I enjoyed the connection and respect for each other that they developed and I of course loved the spice.
This was my first book by Max Monroe and I absolutely loved their writing style! I enjoyed the personalities the authors put into their characters and the fun twists and turns the book took to keep you on your toes and entertained the whole way through.
Thank you Max Monroe for the physical and audio copy of this book!
