Such a sweet book with an even more sweet backstory. A definite read for little ones who need some visual examples of kindness and its many forms.

A beautiful book with a very important message. What a little legend Orion is!
I love the 'be kind' drive and this book is a truly a captivating read.
It doesn't simply tell us to show kindness; it intricately illustrates how you can actively engage in kind actions by breaking down each letter into thoughtful acts.

A great book to prompt deep reflection on the significance of kindness for readers young and old alike.

I love this book! I can not wait to incorporate it into my classroom and share it with children in my life. It has a wonderful simple message about kindness with a fun setting to encourage everyone to be kind and join the "Kindness Race".

I thought this book was really cute and the message was perfect for those ages 3-7. You follow children as they move about their day. The narrator encourages them to do things that will make others as well as themselves feel good. This book had wonderful illustrations. The language was easy to understand. I would say that this is a perfect book for 5 year olds. Highly recommend.

What a gorgeous book. Love the rhyme and the way it uses the letters of the word KIND. I would really love a British English edition with UK spelling as that would be so much better for school. Whatever, I'll definitely be getting a copy for our library.

This book was so cute. I'm glad I closed out Kindness Week with it. Race to Kindness will be a great addition to any primary-level classroom. It reads like poetry. The rhymes help children anticipate what will be said.
The illustrations are very well done. They are colorful, There are several illustrations, one for every description of kindness to show kids through pictures and not just words what kindness looks like. I think this was very simple, and well done, illustrations aren't over the top snd don't take away from the message of the book.

This is a lovely little book about ways that you can be kind. The story is pleasant but I think it went a little over my 3yr old head, so maybe better for a slightly older child.

The illustrations are beautiful and really effective. Representative of a wide range of people.

This would be good as a conversation starter with a child about how you can be kind in your day to day life.

Thoughts:
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is such a great book teaching the importance of kindness while also making it into a game/race. The images were detailed and complement the text on each page perfectly. I really liked the way in which the term kind was broken down to show kids different ways they can be kind to others, like inclusion which is extremely important but can be overlooked.

Favourite Quote:
"Nothing is too small to make a big mark. Those small acts of kindness will still light a spark."

Excellent. I could see this title being shared in classrooms and highlighted as part of school culture. There are vibrant and inclusive images, and examples throughout to illustrate what it means to be KIND.

K - Keep Your Eyes Open
I - Including Others
N - Nothing is too small
D - Do Something About It

My kids absolutely love this book! In a world where kindness is lacking in so many areas- this book is a gentle reminder of how contagious being kind can be.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an early copy of this book. I absolutely loved it! It was simple, approachable, and transferable. It starts out inviting readers to join the "be K.I.N.D." race and then it goes on to define each letter of the K.I.N.D. acronym, giving examples of each one. The rhyming prose was natural and kid friendly, and the pictures were striking, colorful, and detailed. This could work as a classroom management platform and the "be K.I.N.D." phrasing could be posted in the classroom and/or used as a verbal refrain or class motto. This was a really good one!

Race to Kindness is an amazing book by Orion Jean.

An inspiring book for little ones and older ones. This book is so well made that my almost 3-year-old made me read it to her 5 times back to back before moving to another story. The illustrations are so engaging and she kept asking questions like โ€œWhy are they doing this?โ€, โ€œWhat are they doing?โ€, โ€œWhat happened to him?โ€. It kept her engaged for longer than any of her other books that donโ€™t have an actual story, which is always a good sign.

I recommend this book to parents, teachers, librarians and adults as well. Is an amazing reminder of how you can help your local community. Not only for little ones to learn how to be kind but also for adults to refresh their memory.

This is a book I am definitely buying once is published, as is really worth being in our library.

Thank you, NetGalley for the early copy.
