Doing a deep dive into a mother/wife's heavy burden with grief, after loosing those she cared for most. Amanda has nothing left to loose, and she is ready to act on her darkest desires of revenge. Meeting Wendy was by chance and the plan they concoct may be unforgivable but something has to be done. With a corrupt justice system, things are left up to them. Together they decide...
Kill for me and I'll kill for you.
"Losing a loved one to violence provokes a response. There are two common responses: either they don't want anyone to ever hurt like they do, or they want everyone to hurt like they do."
I'm sorry, WHAT?
Cavanagh really did that.
I was only one chapter in and I already knew this was going to be everything. Holy cow it did not disappoint. Kill For Me Kill For You is a remarkable true psychological thriller. Definitely one that deserves to be at the top
The character development was absolute perfection. Connecting you to these characters through sympathy and understanding. Their actions instantly becoming your top priority.
The suspense will have you gripping the edge of your seat with anticipation the deeper you get into the plot. Making it very easy to fly through but very difficult to sit down.
And the twists. Oh man, they were defenitly twisting. It holds that special shock factor that will leave you in absolute disbelief. Im still having trouble grasping ahold of the things it made me believe and feel.
OOFTA, it is so good. I don't make the rules but I defenitly think you should go read it, like RIGHT NOW.
A huge thank you to Steve Cavanagh, @simonandschuster and @netgalley for the early peek into Amanda, Wendy and Ruth's lives. It was defenitly a killer time. 🖤

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC of Kill For me, Kill For You! This book was so good! Ever since I finished it, nothing compares to its unputdownable power! I’m going to have to check out more Steve Cavanagh books now, I predict this will be the thriller of the year.

Well done Mr. Cavanagh, well done! Kill for Me, Kill for You is a modern spin on the classic novel Strangers on a Train (if you couldn't tell by the title). I get a little apprehensive going into books like this because I always wonder how someone could retell a story and A) keep it close enough to the original to call it a retelling and B) make it unique enough to breathe new life into it. I felt the same way going into Peter Swanson's The Kind Worth Killing but that book ended up blowing me away! Kill For Me, Kill For You was just as pleasing, and Cavanagh did a great job with both A and B above!
The premise of this one is exactly as the title implies, and it sticks to the original plot point of Strangers on a Train. But then it really goes off the deep end. When the first big twist hit, I laughed out loud because I knew it was going to be a fun ride, and boy was it ever! I really loved this modern take on the classic story, but I don't feel as if there is anything else I can say without giving anything away. If you haven't read the original yet, I do recommend it. But whether you have or not, I think any thriller lover would enjoy this one!
I received a free digital copy of Kill for Me, Kill for You in exchange for my honest review. All onions are my own.

This was my first Steve Cavanagh book and I really enjoyed it! I wasn’t sure how the two story lines were going to come together at first but I liked how it was handled. I saw one twist coming but the other one was a complete surprise. I definitely look forward to reading more of his backlist.

This was my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it. Definitely will be picking up more of his work!

Wow wow wow!! This is the “it” book and for good reason! Pulls you in from the get go and it’s a wild ride from there. Old school thriller with a current vibe. Do not miss this one!

Wow! This book was amazing! My first book by Steve Cavnagh. It was instantly gripping, intense, and hard to put down! I thought the premise was unique and was awed by how well thought out this book was. Steve Cavanagh had me on the edge of my seat with continuous reading to find out what happened next. The twists were jaw dropping that I did not see coming. This book is well written and well thought out. I am excited to read another Steve Cavanagh book!
Thank you to Atria Books and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Now that my friends, was a thriller! I could not put this book down. The short chapters with varying points of views and storylines (which I love) all left me hanging! I was just itching to find out what happened with each cliffhanger. I loved how the stories merged and the culmination just was jaw dropping! Chefs kiss to this thriller! 5 stars, I’ll be thinking about this one 🙌
This was my March BOTM and they nailed it.
I also want to thank NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my review.

When a book is compared to Gone Girl and The Silent Patient, I will always read it! And to be honest, Cavanagh is one of my top 5 authors so I knew I would read this one without even reading a synopsis. Two women whose lives have been tragically altered meet and this thriller begins. This is a suspenseful revenge story with plenty of twists and turns. I highly recommend this thriller to everyone I meet!

This book is diabolical
It played with all my emotions to the very end.
I was so excited to get this. I’ve only read his legal thrillers so I wanted to delve into something new and I was not disappointed
This book is literally as the title said but with layers upon layers of twists and madness.
It’s perfectly structured, not too character heavy and told from multiple POVs so you get a complete picture with little room for misunderstanding.
You’ll draw every single conclusion, assume the unthinkable and you’ll get it wrong,
every single time🤯🤯
I loved this book. I did have a brief moment where some unfinished justice made my eye tic but it didn’t linger
Amazing work as always👏👏👏

This is my first read by this author & I will certainly be adding more to my TBR!
This story is told in alternating POVs between two women in opposite parts of NYC, Amanda and Ruth, who have each endured unimaginable pain & suffering at the hands of others. Amanda has suffered horrific familial loss & Ruth suffered through a home invasion where she was left for dead and now fears for her life.
Amanda is attending a counseling group for others who have gone through similar situations, which is where she meets Wendy. They go out for drinks & form a friendship. Neither believe that justice will be served unless those responsible for the deaths of their loved ones are dead themselves. They make a pact to each kill the other’s target & each will have an airtight alibi so that it doesn’t circle back to them.
Meanwhile, Ruth fears for her life every second of the day as the man who left her for dead, with piercing blue eyes & a voice she’ll never forget, is still roaming free and she fears he will come back to finish her off. This consumes her & takes a huge toll on her marriage.
This one is hard to get into without revealing spoilers. There are multiple twists that you won’t see coming! I didn’t & I’m always really good at seeing the twists coming. This is a bingeable quick-paced thriller that you will want to get your hands on ASAP. Jaw-dropping & mind-blowing – so far, the best thriller of 2024!

So. This was… interesting. Lots of twists and turns (some completely implausible????) but with an incredibly slow start. But once this picked up, it PICKED UP.
I’m honestly still not sure how I feel about this one? It was a really good twisty thriller. Some of the twists were fairly predictable. One was not but was also so implausible, I thought it was a joke? Normally I don’t look for realism in thrillers but this was a little much.
I also really struggled with the writing in some places. This had a lot of clunky prose and dialogue and read like a debut. So I was absolutely shocked to discover that the author has also written a beloved series….? Though I read several reviews that said it felt like this was written by a completely different person so that’s… interesting.
So. Was this thrilling and kept me entertained and turning the pages? Yes. Was it the best thriller I’ve ever read? No. It was… decent?
Thank you for coming to my wildly unhelpful review because I’m not sure what to make of this one. This did have lots of good points. I’m just not sure it wrapped us as well as I would’ve liked.
Anyway. Thank you to NetGalley and Atria for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review!

Wow! I was hooked from the very beginning and it definitely kept me guessing throughout! One of my hunches ended up being right but there were a lot of twists that definitely had me doubting myself and the story come together in a way that I didn’t expect! If you’re looking for a binge-worthy thriller do yourself a favor and add Kill For Me, Kill For You to your tbr!

Phew, this book really took me by pleasant surprise! I was on the fence about reading it based on the premise. While the whole Strangers on a Train thing is cool, it's not usually up my alley to read books from the POV of potential or actual killers. I like my mystery/thrillers to be about solving crimes rather than the MCs being the one committing them. (Maybe I have to rethink that a little bit and finally read THE KIND WORTH KILLING...)
As I said, I really wasn't planning on reading this... and then the buzz got to me. I decided I was in the mood for another thriller this month and it totally hit the spot. The premise involves two women who meet in a support group and eventually decide to kill each other's target. Both of their daughters were killed by predators who got off too easy. Doing it for each other ensures there's no connection between the person who actually wants them dead and the person who did the killing. There's also another woman in a separate storyline that has the reader wondering what the connection is; she was assaulted in her home when her husband was away for the night.
There are four POVs: one of the women (Amanda), the woman who was assaulted (Ruth) and her husband (Scott), and a detective working on the cases (Farrow). I really enjoyed reading all of them honestly and kept wondering what the hell the connection was between Ruth's story and everyone else's.
The reason this is a five-star thriller for me is because it was truly unpredictable. I did figure out one major thing but had no idea how or why it connected to everything else. There were just the right amount of twists and turns through the end without being overwhelming. I love how the author tied everything together and the timing of the reveals. The four points of view really added to the story, with two of them appearing a bit more than the others, and helped bring together all of the events in a fun way.
This book really made me think about humanity, revenge, and punishment. I think it goes beyond a traditional thriller in many ways because there are so many gray lines about these topics. You put yourself in their situation and try to figure out how you would react. Overall, such a great book with solid writing and twists!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
• super sharp thriller
• revengeful women
• multiple POV
Okay... this is the best thriller I've read in a WHILE! It's twisty, the characters are super complex, the plot is masterfully woven, and I just couldn't put it down. My jaw literally dropped with *that* twist!
🗣 Thank you to netgalley and Atria Books for the opportunity to read and review this book via gifted eARC and ARC! All opinions are honest and my own.

Kill for Me, Kill for You is a fantastic retelling of Strangers on a Train. It is such a fast read and full of suspense (I had to skim a few sections because they were so stressful!) The book kept me guessing to the end.

🪟 Kill For Me Kill For You - Steve Cavanagh
4.5 ⭐️ - This one was so good! Life got so busy in the middle of reading this one, but I enjoyed it so much. It kept me on my toes, wanting more, and guessing until the very end. If you’re into twisty, unexpected thrillers or mysteries, check this one out.

This is a total slump buster & I also always love a crazy story set in NYC 🗽
This absolutely gave me Gone Girl vibes & even though I predicted a very big twist I was stoked when I found out I was right. However, I was already planning my own book if this twist didn’t happen 😅 this author set it up so well & you truly won’t see it coming unless you’ve read a lot of books like this (it’s my fave genre💅).
This has short chapters, shifting POVs, a little bit of a police procedural vibe going on, and some insane twists! This is fast paced & the writing was soooo good.
Essentially, this is about women who have been victimized & the system failed them - so they make a pact and decide to take matters into their own hands and take out the men who hurt them.
Just WOW. If I would have had the time to binge this I would have. It was so hard to put this down. The ending of this one??? 🫨 this author 100% has a new fan right there! This book is a perfect example of why thrillers are such an incredible genre. This psychological thriller has top notch writing & it was masterfully done.
Thank you NetGalley & Atria for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. 🫶🏻

4.5 stars
Newly released, this book is loosely based on the book Strangers on a Train, the author has rewritten a suspense thriller that kept me glued to the pages.
As two women meet in a bar, both having been affected by tragic loss, they make a pack to help each other out. There is much I could say about each of these women, but I feel it would give too much of the story away. Suffice to say, they are both hurting by the loss of loved ones without getting closure through police/the justice system and decide to take matters into their own hands. Told mostly from Amanda‘s point of view along with a few others. It is mysterious, suspenseful and one I read in a matter of 24 hours.
This was such a well written book, there were with many red herrings, twist and an ending that got me totally off-guard. It does have a trope that isn't a favorite of mine but it did work very nicely here.
Steve Cavanagh is a new-to-me-author, will definitely be looking up his backlist.

When I started reading this thriller i immediately thought of Strangers on a Train, but this goes far past that. It is complex, multi-faceted and fascinating. Each of the main characters is complicated and interesting enough to make the reader want to know what is happening to them. Thanks to Net Galley and Simon & Schuster for an ARC for an honest review.
