I stayed up way too late last night finishing this and it was SO good!!! I could not put it down. There were a few twists- a couple that I saw coming- but the ending shocked me. It was so well done. I read Steve's other book Thirteen in 2019 and absolutely loved it. I love how he writes. If you enjoy crime thrillers, then you will eat this one up. It did not disappoint!

Kill for Me, Kill for You by Steve Cavanagh ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thrillers haven’t blown me away in awhile, but this year’s releases have been impressing me, and this one was no different. This was the true definition of a page-turning thriller. The pacing was perfection, the different POVs were smart, and the plot was thick.

The characters had motivations that made sense. The cops for the most part were believable; there were a few times that I had to dive into my suspension of disbelief. The plot, while absolutely bonkers, felt real to the world the author created. Also, the ending was one of my favorites; it just really worked for me. I’m keeping it intentionally brief as to not accidentally reveal anything because I think readers should go into this as blindly as possible.

If you enjoy many different POV thrillers, vigilante justice, and cat-and-mouse reads, this one will check your boxes.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced thriller! This had everything I love in a thriller - interesting plot, characters you're not sure you should root for, short, multiple POVs, and short, pulse-pounding chapters. This is my first Steve Cavanagh book, but I will definitely be back for more. What a fun ride this one was!

This was my first book by Cavanagh and holy smokes. This was fantastic! I was immediately hooked. I loved the multiple viewpoints and I audibly gasped when I figured it out. It came together beautifully. Highly recommend this one!

Kill for Me, Kill for You is a new twisty thriller that follows three women. Amanda recently lost her little girl and husband after a terrible attack. The man who is guilty of this is free in the streets and Amanda wants to kill him. She meets a woman at her support group who also lost a daughter to murder and the killer is loose. When the two women decide to “swap murders” and kill each others men they want dead, things quickly go downhill. There is also a third woman we follow that is somehow tied to all of this.

I loved this book! It was so twisty and fast paced. I read it in only 2 sittings. Some of the twists were predictable or unrealistic, but I still really enjoyed it. The twists just kept coming and I couldn’t put this book down! The characters had some sad back stories and were instantly likable. I loved the different point of views throughout and the quick chapters.

If you’re looking for a twisty thriller, I would recommend this one! I will definitely be looking for more by this author!

Thanks so much to netgalley and Atria books for the arc of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I think this book could have been just as wonderful if there wasn't such hard to read moments with child kidnapping and murder on top of multiple suicide mentions and a suicide in the family. Maybe the author was trying to make it more like a horror because it was so detailed and emotional. I just think the emotional sides of this book took away from the overall plot.

If you are looking for a good thriller that will have you turning pages, following multiple characters, with twists and turns and and ending that you won't see coming then this is the one for you. Kill for Me, Kill for You takes the premise of Strangers on a Train and runs with it. I love a good thriller that keeps my mind reeling trying to come up with who done it and slotting those missing pieces into place. This kept me guessing and puzzling the whole way through. Every time I thought I knew where the story was going I was wrong. The way the story was pieced together was brilliant and kept the suspense at its peak. We are following Amanda & Wendy who meet at a grief support group and later at a bar. They both are struggling with the inability to deal with their losses and the fact that the perpetrators have never been brought to justice. The grief, loneliness and desire for revenge have them coming up with a sinister plan to right each others wrongs. We also are introduced to Ruth who is attacked in her home and brutalized but somehow survives. See swears that she will never forget the face of her attacker and his piercing blue eyes but that isn't enough for a conviction. I loved the alternating point of views and those twists were perfection!

Thank you to NetGalley & Atria Books for an ARC of Kill for Me, Kill for You in exchange for my honest review. It was a wonderful reading experience.

Steve Cavanagh does it again!
This was such a fast paced thriller. I love a revenge trope, and this did not disappoint. The different POVs really kept me hooked. I don’t think I put this book down until I was half way through it.

I had so much fun reading this.

Thank you Atria Books for allowing me to receive this early copy in exchange for my review.

Although inspired by “strangers on a train” I found this spin on that trope to be wholly unique and totally engrossing. The pace never lets up, and the twists were perfect and not at all predictable.

I enjoyed the multiple POV narrative that left you guessing in just the right moments where the narrator shifts. It kept the tension tight and I didn’t find anything to be extraneous. One of my favorite thrillers of the year so far!

Damn, this was so exceptional.

The story follows Amanda, a woman who has recently undergone traumatic lost, leaving her in a deep depression and very vulnerable. She is taking measures of revenge that land her in trouble and having to attend a grief support group, where she meets Wendy, someone who has undergone a similar experience. The two bond over their shared history and come to make life or death decisions, one will kill for the other. In the same city, Ruth has experienced her own trauma and is having a difficult time recovering.

This story was so well written and so unique. Reading a lot of thrillers, many times I don’t find them thrilling, they’re very simple and a story I’ve already read many times. This was the exception, it had twist after twist. These twists left me smacking my hand down and gasping, jaw dropped and those are the best kinds. This is one of those books that after you finish, you sit there wondering, how did the author come up with this? But you’re so happy they did!
Read this if you like a good, well written story with many twists, multiple POVs, unreliable characters and one of those stories you can’t put down. I highly, highly recommend this. I don’t want reveal too much about the story, but every time I thought I figured it out, I doubted myself and then everything changed again, it left me constantly wondering, how is all this connected?

After reading Thirteen earlier this year, I knew I wanted to read more by this author. I have read so many of the “strangers on a train troupe”, so I didn’t expect to be really surprised by this one, but boy was I wrong. If you think you have already read so many of these storylines, and this is going to be another run of the mill stranger killing someone for you, you are mistaken. I cannot wait to see what else this author comes out with in the future, and will definitely be going back and reading his backlist titles!

❣A special thank you to @atriabooks for the early access to this thrilling book!

! This book was SO good and had me flipping through it as fast as possible!

This book is a serial killer thriller, and has the potential to make you feel sympathy for the killer. It is a story of revenge, sacrifice, and redemption. This book really has it all.

The fact this book was inspired by Hitchcock’s “Strangers on a Plane” made it even more enjoyable. It was executed perfectly (imo).

Thrillers and horrors are my favourite genres, and this one did not disappoint.

Told in 4 different POVs, I really enjoyed the premise and loved the way things came together at the end.

I found the twists to be unpredictable, though to be honest, I did find myself questioning whether a few of the situations were plausible.

I really don’t want to say much more in fear of giving away any spoilers, but please take it from me, you will want to add this to your tbr!

This was fun! I felt like the ending was a bit too neat and the writing was a bit stilted throughout, but I had a great time.

This book surprised me. I wouldn't have normally requested it but received an email from the publisher and was intrigued by the plot and the Ruth Ware quote on the front. I'm glad I gave it a chance. Out of the three mystery books I've read this week, this was by far the strongest. The twists were genuinely surprising (very clever use of an idiot president) and overall a very satisfying read. Highly recommended. Although, I will add I do wish we could have seen some comeuppance to the man with the blue eyes.

This is the first book by Steve Cavanaugh and I will be going through his backlist! Wow! It was so great and the twist! I thought I saw it and BAM! Such a cool concept. The Strangers on the Train trope. Bravo! I cannot wait to read more by this author.

Okay, I LOVED this book. There were 2 women and 2 men who were the focus of this story, and you got a look at each of their POVs - and let me tell you, I had no idea how they were all going to connect, up until they finally did and my jaw dropped. The twists were top tier, I devoured this book and I think this is going to be a spring must read!

This upcoming thriller (releasing 3/19) was quite the twisty page-turner! It starts with a woman being attacked in her home. Then we meet 2 women who have both suffered the loss of family members to murder without justice being found in the legal system. They agree to a scheme of each killing the other's suspect to get their own version of justice and closure. Then thriller-novel hijinks ensue. This book had me turning the pages on my Kindle so fast! I figured out one twist but another caught me off guard which was fun. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance digital copy.

3.5 stars. This definitely seems to be somewhat of a redoing of Strangers on a Train: Amanda and Wendy, two mothers who have each lost a child, hatch a plan to get revenge from the men who wrecked havoc in their lives with each promising to kill for the other. An addition to this basic plot, however, involves Ruth, a woman who is savagely attacked in her own home by a person she describes as “the blue-eyed man.” Lots of suspense and plenty of twists and turns ensue. Although this was a real page-turner for me, the last portion of the book seemed to go to far and “jump the shark” a bit by incorporating too many coincidences and becoming somewhat convoluted. Nonetheless, I did find this to be a good read, and I now look forward to reading the Eddie Flynn series by this author, which seems to get stellar reviews overall.

This book was highly anticipated for me after hearing so many of my other bookish friends who enjoyed it!

I don't want to talk about the plot too much, because I think that its better if you go in knowing very little. But just know that this is a FUN book and if you need out of a reading slump and you enjoy thrillers, I think that you should try this one out!

Thank you to Netgalley & the publsiher for my early e-arc!

Kill for me, kill for you by Steve Cavanaugh
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

HOLY MOTHER- FIRKIN SHIRTBALLS 😵‍💫
The twists in this mother Fu-er right here; weren't real!
*queue the airplane freakout lady*
I feel like she may have been reading this book right before that.

My mind is still on overdrive🤯
And I finished this book Friday night. It was the perfect pace. It was fast-paced. Which I enjoy. It keeps you on your toes and flipping those pages, yet there is no time to ruminate on the entirety of the situation. There were early stages where I teared up. Then felt vengeful. And even angry. There were so many "WHAT THE F---" as I read. Don't get me started on the "OH MY GOD'" they never stopped.

Thanks so much to @atriabooks and @netgalley for letting me give this one an early shot- and I'm so sorry it took so long for me to get to it. Like seriously regret putting it off for as long as I did 😆

And a big shout out to @bookofthemonth for having it as a main pick. Which I snatched up when I was only at chapter 3 of the book.
