I would first like to thank the publisher and author, Kimberly Lemming for the arc I received! This book was SO much fun! That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon is a wonderfully hilarious and charming romantasy story about the uncontroversial pairing of Cinnamon, a human spice farmer, and Fallon, a demon. The characters were so full of life and I found myself unexpectedly laughing out loud on more than one occasion. The love between Cinnamon and Fallon was so pure and believable, I was rooting for them the entire time. When he calls her "Rabbit">>. The spice was also very well done in my opinion! And I loved all the supporting characters. They added so much to the overall storyline. All in all I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would! It was quick and witty. Likely a good one to break a reading slump! I can't wait to read the rest of the "Mead Mishaps" series.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book series! I could reread them a million times and never get tired of them. I’m not a fan of the new covers, but I’ll still buy every single one!

silly, fun, and cozy! i wasn't ready to like this book as much as i did, and I am excited to read this authors other books.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming is a fun and cozy fantastical comedy with romance elements. expert use of dialogue and action kept the pacing perfect for a breezy reading experience and left me hungry for more of the author's work. Readers looking for a fun fantasy read that stands well on its own will have a good time with this story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!
A fun fantasy romance with demons, dragons, werewolves, and goddesses. It was a quick read but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I had hoped. There were definitely funny moments, and I liked the world and fantastical elements. I wasn’t as emotionally attached to the characters as I wanted to be, so both the romance and the conflict fell a little flat. There is also one sex scene with ambiguous consent that rubbed me the wrong way. I will try more from this author in the future as I like the idea of romantasy novellas, but this one was a mixed bag for me.

Such a fun, adventurous romance filled with interesting characters! Lemming crafts a captivating world full of magic and monsters that I look forward to returning to.

Oh god, That Time I Got Drunk And Saved A Demon is everything I didn't know I wanted in a romance book. It's just so so good. With a first line like, "I had only two things on my mind: cheese and how to get home" how can you go wrong?
Our FMC is Cinnamon, a spice-trader in a fantasy world where hordes of demons attack every ten years. But a powerful goddess chooses four heroes to battle off the demons and save the world or die trying. Cin wants absolutely nothing to do with that. She wants to stay home, build her spice trade, and enjoy life in her small village with her family. All that changes when she stumbles across a man trapped in a landslide and helps him out. But turns out the man is a demon and wants to overthrow the goddess who has been imprisoning his kind for years. And he forces Cin along for the ride.
Despite all of that sounding like it could be a dense high fantasy epic, this is cozy, comforting, laugh out loud funny, sweet, and spicy. Kimberly Lemming has become an auto-buy and auto-read for me. The cast of characters she has created are fantastic and I can't wait to read more of this world. I would highly recommend this to anyone that doesn't mind a little sex in their reading.
Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

First off, I just love this cover. It's incredibly gorgeous and was one of the reasons I picked this book up. I had high hopes for this one, but sadly this wasn't for me. I was looking for a light, cozy romantasy read but this missed the mark. The pacing was off. The dialogue in some parts took me out of the world. Cin and Fallon's feelings for each other felt like it came out of nowhere. It was very sudden. One moment their talking about other things, then Fallon just declares his love for her. I would've liked more tension and a slow build up to their relationship, maybe also get to know each of them individually more. We never really get that, especially Fallon's background. The spicy scenes seemed super forced and just for the heck of it. I'm not sure if I'll continue reading this series yet, but I've heard that they do get better!

This is a great transitional book for when you're coming out of a dark book or long series. Very fun, light, and short. I had a good time reading it.
I thought it was a little weird how quickly Fallon seems to fall madly in love with Cinnamon but I didn't mind how it was explained later in the story. They both had great banter between the two, there were moments I chuckled to myself out loud. I loved the spicy scenes, I thought they were well paced throughout the book and very engaging. I did find all the talk about Fallon's hot muscles a little overdone at some points.
The story itself was very fun. I absolutely loved Felix and can't wait to read the next book.

Thank you to NetGalley for an e-ARC!
This was a cute and cozy story. I really enjoyed how our main character and setting seemed to be heavily inspired by Cajun culture, coming from a fellow Cajun.
However, I didn't believe the romance of the story. It felt rushed and insta-love, so a lot of the more romance heavy scenes fell flat for me.

Spice trader Cinnamon's quiet life is turned upside down when she ends up on a quest with a fiery demon in this irreverently quirky rom-com fantasy that is sweet, steamy, and funny as hell.
Great! Fun and funny and steamy and sweet. I loved it!

This was my first time reading a book by Kimberly Lemming, so I really didn't know what to expect which was a good thing because it allowed me to really read this book without assumptions or the opinions of others. I genuinely enjoyed reading That Time I Got Drunk and Saved A Demon. First, let me say that the title is beyond catchy and immediately grabbed my attention. Also, the cover art is beautiful and I loved the visual of the main character--she's gorgeous, body positive, and diverse. She was also memorable, funny, strong but vulnerable and empathetic. The story itself was fun, had good action scenes, a nice amount of spice, and goof characters. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for romantasy.

This is not my normal reading vibe. But I had fun with it. When the facts are put out that hey your goddess is actually an undead being using everyone to keep herself safe and kill her enemies, you'd be rightfully pissed off too.
Reasons to read:
-Made me really hungry since the cooking actually has spices
-Justified reason to go after the bbeg
-In this housing market I guess I too would let a lot slide if someone could just appear me a place
Cons:
-Yea some of my family follows my IG, I can't post my review on there without them asking questions and I don't need that in my life right now.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon was very outside my norm. Which I knew title alone. But it also sounded light and absolutely adorable. I’ve discovered a love for stories with a cozy fantasy feel, but that have actual stakes and big adventures. Adventures don’t come much bigger than the one in this book. And yet the adventure wasn’t the true heart of the story; the romance was. I generally prefer my romance to be more on the periphery, but I had no problem making an exception here. Because Cinnamon and Fallon are hilarious together. And hot. Scorching, even.
Comedic books can be very hit or miss for me. That Time I Got and Saved a Demon was a direct hit. I laughed out loud in certain parts of this story. The cast grows wider and wilder and weirder as the plot progresses, and every addition added more humor. But Cinnamon and Fallon were definitely the stars of the show. This luscious homebody of a spice farmer who hates adventure and the demon she saves get up to some serious shenanigans. The fact that their chemistry is through the roof doesn’t hurt. (This got pretty darn spicy, so consider yourself warned if detailed sex scenes are not your thing.) The banter between the two was immensely entertaining. In fact, all of the dialogue in the story was pretty fantastic.
Did I roll my eyes on multiple occasions? Yes. There were parts of the story that felt too convenient, or too over the top, even for a book this fantastical and frothy. I could also tell that the author is a TikTok user, as multiple popular soundbites wormed their way into the story. I wasn’t mad about it. At all. It added to my entertainment. But it also threw me out of the story from time to time, as I could actually hear the references in my head. It was kind of distracting. Fun, but distracting.
By and large, this is just a really fun, fast-paced, addictive story. It’s charming and frothy and just plain delightful. I finished this book and immediately began the second in the series, That Time I Got Drunk and Yeeted a Love Potion at a Werewolf. Which, as an aside, has to be one of the wildest titles I’ve ever witnessed. I can see why Mead Mishaps is so popular. That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon is a smile on a page. If the rest of the series is just as light and fun, I can see these being added to the list of books I go back to when I need comfort.

Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit Books for allowing me to read an ARC of Kimberly Lemming’s book That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon.
Summary: Cinnamon is a young woman who is ready to spend the rest of her life on her family’s spice farm. No adventures for her. Nope. None. And yet, one night while celebrating, she comes across a man ready to attack her. Until she hits him in the face with cinnamon. Then begins the adventure of a lifetime, or maybe two lifetimes, as she and Fallon set off to hunt down the witch that turned him and other demons into nightmares. With the help of friends made along the way, will she and Fallon be able to stop the witch, or will his people continue to suffer?
Review: This is a 4 out of 5 for me. I love the cozy adventure vibe we’ve got going on here. I love that her name is Cinnamon and she helps run a spice farm. I just wish it were longer and more things were explained. Sometimes things just pop up and then are pushed aside. Normally that would make it a 3-star review for me, however, because it was such a fun read, I decided it should be 4 stars. I just needed more lore behind things. For example, why was her mom a bard? What did that mean to the story? Do I need a book about how her mom and dad met? Probably. Anyway, I needed more. It was a lighthearted story overall, but some elements were very dark, which there is a warning for in the beginning so, thanks to the author for that. It was a fun fantasy read and if that is what you are looking for, that's what you will find here.

This just wasn’t what I was expecting. Dialogue was really modern which I’m never a fan of. Spice is spicy. 18+
It took me a while to get through this. It really shouldn’t have. The story had a lot of potential. I e been trying to narrow down exactly why I didn’t like this and I’m not sure why. I want to continue with the other books but I’ll be borrowing them instead of buying them.
I also like the original covers more than the new ones.

The Facts: Supernatural romance, witty banter, BIPOC lead, touch her and d!e vibes
Cin’s life gets turned upside down after she saved a demon who then decides that she’s going to help him take down a bad guy.
Y’all this book was too freaking good. The banter was top notch. I adored how Fallon was so sweet to Cin, but ready to k!ll anyone who messed with her. I cannot wait to read more by Kimberly Lemming. This was a cute, quick read that was a lot of fun!

I honestly just loved so much about this. The dialogue was hilarious and the banter was perfect. The spice was top tier and I was laughing at least once a chapter.
Some of the things the characters would say started to get a little repetitive, but other than that I have no notes!
I definitely recommend this one for a good time and a fun read! 📚 🖤

Despite being an up and down book for me I gave this 4 stars because when I finished I thought "I liked that." Quite a deciding factor apparently. The down parts were when it just got too silly, or the humor was not my kind of humor. It was still fun, but I didn't find it funnY. But then you'd get the up parts where I just enjoyed the heck out of it and was smiling or laughing the whole time. Which pretty much almost always revolved around Fallon. Because, damn, I loved everything about that demon. I do so love my fictional men to be violent beasts whenever they're not being sweet on their woman. Plus Fallon was super touchy feely, so swoon. Cinnamon (Cin) was also a pretty fun character. She was just a normal human going about her village life when she's practically kidnapped by a demon and forced on his quest to destroy an evil witch pretending to be a god. All things considered, she took the whole situation really well despite all her panic moments. She also definitely held out a lot longer than I would have against a hot demon trying to win her heart.
Basically what happens is that Cin accidentally broke the mind control spell on Fallon that their "god" curses demons with that turns them into mindless killers with her cinnamon. The spice, that is. So now Fallon is mindful killer, but one on a mission. In order to free all the demons that have been suffering for so long (and get their revenge of course), four chalices have to be destroyed. But Fallon can't get close enough to them without losing his mind again, and that's where Cin comes in. So together they have to travel all over to the four temples that house them. Along the way they make a new human ally and free many enslaved demons that now also decide to follow them. And these demons are a fun, roudy bunch to be sure.
This is a pretty short story, so everything happens too fast and is wildly unbelievable. Did I care? Nope. It really was a fun read with some nice hot bits from the demon finally claiming what it is.
I did not request any of the following books when I had the chance and I'm kind of regretting it. If the demons in those books are anything like Fallon is, I'm totally missing out on that and that's a shame.

There is so much that I loved about this! Perfect combination of cozy fantasy and spice. I think this is one of the first ever cozy fantasies I’ve read and it did not disappoint. I loved Cinnamon and her personality. She’s giving strong independent woman. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times. The storyline was interesting - nothing crazy but it didn’t need to be.
I just found this so lighthearted and it put me in a great mood to read.
This was diverse and definitely much needed in the cozy fantasy/romance realm! I will definitely be picking up all the other books in this series.
