2.5 stars. This was a fun, silly, romantic, smutty fantasy. The writing was a bit simplistic for my taste and a bit reminiscent of fanfiction (the main character's thoughts being in italics and all caps, etc). There were some metaphors/turns of phrase that didn't quite fit in their world and for such a short book, I was surprised to see some metaphors repeated. I did like the characters, and it was certainly action-packed!

Well this was a fun and smutty time. If you like cozy and low stakes fantasy, this is for you. I can’t wait to pick up the rest of the series.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

I received an ARC of That Time I Got Drunk and Saved A Demon and decided to purchase the audiobook, and I am so glad I did!

I really loved this audiobook! The narrator does such a fantastic job at giving a voice to different characters, and the author did a wonderful job at creating such an enchanting world. I enjoyed the entirety of this book from start to finish - I loved Cinnamon’s sassy attitude and the fact that she stores snacks under her skirts - and I loved Fallon’s smugness, devotion and attitude. Also this was the first time where I found the narrator’s “male” voice hot - she perfectly depicted his smoothie and arrogant voice. Also, it was greatly written spice and I appreciated how diverse all the different characters were. I’m kind of obsessed with this series now and need to read the next one!

I loved this book so much! The romance, the adventure, and the characters were all so captivating and unique.

The story begins when our main character, Cinnamon, gets drunk at the town festival and on her way home accidentally saves a demon, Fallon. Fallon then proceeds to try to kill her so she runs for her life. The next day however, Fallon finds her and convinces/forces her to assist him in his quest to kill the false goddess who has controlled the demons for hundreds of years. From there, adventure and romance ensues.

The writing was so good, with a very modern language which was hilarious and really helps the reader connect with the characters. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend!

ARC received from Netgalley for an honest review.

Cinnamon has no desire to be a hero. She’s perfectly happy growing spices and being a wine and cheese enthusiast. But, after she rescues a trapped demon on the way home from a night in town and visiting her friend Bree (the cheese maker, cute) she is roped into an adventure whether she likes it or not. Good news for Cinnamon , her demon is hot and things are about to get very spicy!

Ok, just wow! This was my first read of 2024 and the year is off to a great start. Picture Legends and Lates with dirty stuff! Thank god there’s two more books being rereleased very shortly!

This is a really cute, fun, short fantasy. My number one take away from this is that it doesn't take itself too seriously. I love all of the diversity in this book. I want more diverse light hearted fantasy romances to be published. This had interesting things to say about blind faith, the way that powers can use religion to hold on to their power, and realizing that everything you believed was a lie. The use of cinnamon in this was delightful as a magical cure. I loved the cute cuddly moments and light hearted banter between the main character and love interest. I have recommended this book countless times.

What a cute book! I loved how action packed this was. The dialogue/humor was a bit much at time but it definitely is a romcom. I’m really excited to continue the series and am curious if the others will be as action packed as this one was.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming is a romantic fantasy, and the first book in the Mead Mishap series. Spice trader Cinnamon’s quiet life is turned upside down when she ends up on a quest with a fiery demon, in this irreverently quirky rom-com fantasy that is sweet, steamy, and funny as hell. All she wanted to do was live her life in peace—maybe get a cat, expand the family spice farm. Really, anything that didn’t involve going on an adventure where an orc might rip her face off. But they say the goddess has favorites, and if so, Cin is clearly not one of them. After Cin saves the demon Fallon in a wine-drunk stupor, Fallon reveals that all he really wants to do is kill an evil witch enslaving his people. And who can blame him? But now he’s dragging Cinnamon along for the ride whether she like it or not. On the bright side, at least he keeps burning off his shirt.

That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon is a fun and entertaining read and a solid dose of heat included. I love that this series does not take it self seriously- and if the titles and covers did not tell you that I am doing so now. This book is great fun. There is adventure and danger, some great humor and interactions, and some serious steam. I thought that Cinnamon was well developed, more so that I really expected going into the story. There is some world and character building that I was impressed by- and I enjoyed the unique nature of the fantasy world built here. This was the absolute perfect read to relax with and enjoy over my holiday break- and think it is a perfect weekend or relaxation read for anyone that likes fantasy and romance mixed in with both humor and heat. I look forward to exploring this series further.

I had heard nothing but good things going into this series and I am happy to say I was not disappointed! Cinnamon, a spice farmer, ends up on an adventure with a demon named Fallon on a mission to destroy an evil witch. Their story was an excellent blend of action and romance with an added bonus of finding new friends along the way, pirates and food descriptions that had me drooling.

Well this was hilarious and FUN! A spice trader named Cinnamon (!) inadvertently ends up on a quest with fiery demon and adventure and sexy times ensue. Perfect for fans of Legends & Lattes (but be warned this is definitely spicer!)

This was a really fun book to read. I enjoyed the humour in the writing however I do find it challenging placing it with a fantasy novel. This was a quick read for me and it’s an interesting book.

This is the part of the "romantasy" genre that I really like - spunky plus size heroines, titles that remind you of isekai titles and know what they're doing with it, and some real hot sex. This was originally published a few years ago and now Orbit is republishing the series and giving them fun new covers. Definitely worth picking up.

My Rating 3:25.

My Review: I heard such wonderful things about this book and author and I am happy I got read it but there were something things that were not the best that is why I gave it a low rating.
So you have a human girl name cinnamon you live in a village were they a heroes who fight evil creatures. One day she saved a demon and have to help with a something and go on a journey, I love cinnamon she is funny and say what is on her mind and love parts in the book when she cooks. Then the demon he was good like him but to much I am all scary but he soft when it comes to cinnamon I felt sometimes when the author was trying to make something funny it was always in a cuss word now I do Not mind a cuss words from time to time but it happened at lot.
Most of the book was spicy parts and the journey I did in joy the book but will not read again I do think people should read it once.

We were considering for our book box until we realized this was just a reprint of a book previously published so we did not actually read it.

I really just think that this isn’t for me.
The modern dialogue felt out of place, but I wanted to try to get through more since it jarred me early in the book.
However, I just don’t care or understand the characters or the plot. I’m going to say that this is not my thing and move on to a book that I am excited to continue reading.

Obsessed is an understatement when it comes to my feelings about That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon by Kimberly Lemming 🥹 It’s cozy romantasy, it’s spicy, it’s fun, it’s adventurous, hilarious, witty and just all around a feel good read that I could not put down and ended up finishing in one sitting! It also has demons and monsters in the best way possible with a cast of characters that I absolutely adore 🥰 can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series soon!

I haven't been in much of a romance reading mood lately but this hit the spot for me. The spice, the characters, the sibling relationships, the fluff. It was the perfect cozy read that actually had me laughing, a feat which most rom-com type books cannot achieve.

I saw this book all over social media last year and didn’t pick it up because it’s not my usual genre. But I’m a sucker for a beautiful cover and when I saw the new cover I knew I had to read it. I’m glad the cover changed my mind and am also glad that I didn’t read it when it was getting hyped up. I enjoy reading this at my own pace not just because everyone else says they love it. It definitely lived up to the hype. If I was Cin I would have fell for Fallon from the moment he stepped foot in that house.. When that wall she’s hiding her feelings behind falls, we get to see the cutest relationship between the two of them. The spice in here is top tier. Love it. I listened to the audio in tandem with reading the digital and you have to listen to the audio. It’s so good. I can’t wait to get into the rest of this series.

My only qualm was that it was so short I wanted more!
