The monsters on Mill Street series targets children's habits and attitudes while teaching life lessons to monsters. The children easily identify the monsters' bad habits and find lots of fun in how the monsters learn. Sarah Sparks has done an excellent job targeting the stories to children ages 4-8 while still being a fun read if the child were a couple of years older. We actually got our "messy" 10 year old to read them to his lirrle brother so had two life lessons at once. These will be added to our home library. They will also be gifts to many of the youngsters in our family. What a fun way to learn!

This Monsters on Mill Street series is adorable! I think this is my favorite of the Monsters on Mill Street books. In this book Albie's anger becomes too big to handle and causes havoc in the town. I like this one because the descriptions of anger taking over are relatable and I love that there are practical suggestions of how to cope when your anger gets big. The illustrations are cute and the rhyming makes the book fun to read and listen to. These books are way to introduce behavior topics that you would like to discuss with kiddos because even though the situations in the book are clearly overboard, it opens the topic of what are the realistic consequences of the behavior. Thank you to Netgalley and ViaNova Productions for an advance reading copy of this book for review purposes.

Meet Albie, a small but fiercely temperamental monster, whose oversized emotions set off a chain of disastrous events, including earthquakes, tornadoes and flooding that engulfs the entire street!

Join in the adventure as monsters scurry for cover and Albie attempts to quell the mounting chaos and then some…

This story does convey an important lesson on controlling emotions — that seeking help with issues is sometimes necessary and good for one's well-being.

As with the other books in the series, the illustrations are cute and colorful.

I loved how the emotions were illustrated and it was clear what was going on.

I have a 7 year old who really struggles with anger. Anger is his default emotional and has been something we are constantly working on with him.
The Angriest Monster definitely reached him. He was enthralled with the story from the first page.
I feel like it is a wonderful tool to have in classrooms, therapy offices and libraries alike! I will definitely get the other books in this series’

It was a very good book. Had such a beautiful message and the illustrations are eye catching. Definitely an amazing read for kids. I loved how it showed the need for control and also that talking it to others is normal, asking for help is normal, taking care of your mental health is normal. Thank you for writing this book.

Loved this book from the Monster on Mill Street series! Anger management is an important topic, and Sarah Sparks has handled it like a boss.

I enjoyed the eye-catching illustrations of the signs of rage and I'm sure kids will too. It is definitely important for children to understand the results of their anger and the importance of taking control. The coping mechanisms too, are on point for preschoolers. Do buy the little ones in your life!

I absolutely loved "The Angriest Monster on Mill Street" by Sarah Sparks. The book clearly and easily portrays what happens when we lose our temper and how it can hurt not only ourselves but it can hurt those around us. The illustrations and rhyming will engage children while illustrating not only how tempers can grow and become destructive, but how can they can be managed by focusing on the good around us and by asking others for help.
This is a great book for children at school or at home. It could also be helpful for children that have lots of anger and destructive behavior when angry.

This story is a good conversation starter for young children. Parents can sit with their child and discuss what the monster feels and how to get through our anger.

The illustrations are wonderful.

There is a link at the back of the book offering resources and activities. This is a great series to have for young children.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

The Angriest Monster on Mill Street
by Sarah Sparks
This is a good board book to help with Social Emotional Learning classes. Uses in Early elementary, the bright colors, and the descriptions will help children explain their feelings. Explaining how to change your emotions by observation .

The day Bean and I read this book he had an outrageous temper problem, so I found this book completely relatable. Luckily he doesn't turn into a giant rage monster like Albie, but this story hit close to home. Albie was destructive and made a huge mess, but he learned that this was not okay, and he didn't like it. So, he learned how to talk about his feelings instead of blowing up.

Overall, each book in this series teaches young kids that it is okay to be the way you are, but sometimes you have to make adjustments so your actions are not harmful to them, or those around them. We read these books 3 days ago and my son can not stop talking about them. He says these books are about him or they have a little bit about him in them. The art is adorable, and the books have a great message for the little ones.

Albie is the Angriest Monster on Mill Street! He had some serious temper tantrums!! Bless his little heart – he learns that angry is NOT how he wants to be – and sets out to change! Super cute with a good message and reminders on self regulating. As the mom I love the rhyming lines, that it’s not a ton of words per page and it’s not long. Illustrations are nice too

This is a great Children's book! The book is all about a monster who hasn't learned to cope with and control his anger. The anger causes extreme rage and he causes a lot of damage. He notices that this isn't the way he wants to live, so he takes a step back through grounding techniques. I love that the book specifically describes how he regains his control through determining at what he can hear, smell, taste, and see. His temper subsides and he takes the time to clean up his mess and find support in his friends. Overall its a great tool to share with kids who need help with their temper.

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

The Angriest Monster is so cute! My kids instantly were involved with Albie and his story. They lost interest in the middle, but came back around at the end. They even wanted to talk about Albie and his big feelings afterwards! It helped them and I learn a couple more ways to calm those big feelings down. We will definitely keep this one around!

Sarah Sparks writes silly stories in catchy rhyme.
They tell tales of monsters who are having quite a bad time.
They are too bouncy, too angry, or make a big mess.
Their habits are out of control and cause quite a distress.
Kids see their own problems and learn just what to do.
I adored these stories and loved the art too.

The Monsters on Mill Street series is adorable. The stories teach lessons in a fun manner with silly rhymes and even sillier artwork. Albie, “The Angriest Monster on Mill Street” has a monstrous temper. As his anger grows, so does he. The bigger his tantrum, the bigger Albee grows. Soon his enormous size in combination with his temper causes monster sized problems for all those around. When he learns how to handle his emotions, he shrinks back down to size. Children will learn with Albie, what to do when their emotions get the best of them.

This is such a good way to teach kids about how to manage BIG feelings so they don’t explode. Alvie let’s his temper take control and wreaks chaos in Mill Street. When he finally gets himself under control he realizes that he can reach out to people when he needs help to cope with his anger about something. Again, the art and text of these books is top notch and definitely will make reading them fun for parents and children. The skill sets they teach are subtle and understandable. Just great all around!
