This is a good book. The two main characters are Alice and Thomas. They both work at Moore’s. Alice is the visual director and Thomas is the CEO of the family’s business. There is an instant attraction. They go to Las Vegas for a wedding of Thomas’ brother. They wake up in bed with each other with wedding rings on their fingers. They go through the process of believing they are married. They fall in love.

Anyone But The Boss - Sara L. Hudson

This book gets going straight away with plenty of humour, my main source of this was Chase's cat (who has the most brilliant name) and the airport baggage scene. Alice and Thomas had great sexual chemistry between them and the author does not make the reader wait around for us to enjoy this. There was plenty of background info on the characters which just made me endear to them even more. Thank you very much Netgalley and Boldwood Books for this e-arc in return for my honest thoughts and opinions

Absolutely loved the storyline in this book. The publisher could have literally wrote "woman wakes up married to her hot boss" in the blurb and it would be an instant yes.
They plan to annul the marriage but they get delayed, the chemistry that builds between them is SO GOOD. Really enjoyed this book, definitely recommend.

After a drunken night in Vegas, Alice and her boss Thomas wake up married and agree to keep it quiet while they try to annul the marriage. However, a family emergency delays their plans, giving them time to bond. Thomas, initially closed off, starts to open up, especially to Alice's niece Mary. Meanwhile, Alice reveals her strong, protective side and begins to see Thomas differently. As they navigate their differences and past traumas, their opposites-attract dynamic sparks a deep connection. With memorable supporting characters and heartfelt moments, this rom-com delivers both humor and emotional depth, making it a delightful read.

If you’re a fan of fire chemistry, “Anyone But The Boss” is for you!

Book 2 in the Anyone But You series, it can still be read as a standalone.

The book has some spice, some sweet moments, and plenty of laughter to keep readers entertained.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for gifting me this advanced copy. I can’t wait to read more by Sara L. Hudson.

I was given a copy of this book to download for free from a marketer, as I’d apparently read one of the author’s previous books. I was bored so I thought I’d give it a try. It was a fairly rote rom-com that was enjoyable to read while on vacation. Some of the storyline was a bit far fetched, but if you let go of reality, then it’s enjoyably fun.

Hudson will make you laugh, cry, and swoon in this highly addictive story. Thomas and Alice’ love story is brimming with emotion, intensity, and hotness that will keep your heart racing.

Anyone But the Boss is a quick romantic comedy read. This is the second book in the series by the author but can be read as a standalone as I have come to understand. However, there are some references to many of the characters who appear in the story as well as context for the main character that would have made better sense if I'd read the first book.

The story follows Thomas and Alice, two people who come from very different worlds but supposedly have very traumatic or unhappy pasts. The first half of the story focuses on how they meet and then becomes a race to showcase each of their lives. This was a little rushed in my opinion and honestly, some of the humor in the first half did not work for me.

The second half of the story was much better and though the story is predictable, I loved reading about Thomas's interactions with Alice's six-year-old niece. As the characters further interact and grow, the story becomes rather sweet and ends on a good note. I have to mention the supporting characters who add so much life to this story and provide an interesting perspective to Thomas's life. Overall, this is a decent one time read.

When I got this book, I was unaware that it was part of a series, but it read as a standalone. I thought the characters were interesting and fairly well written, and I enjoyed the story. It did make me want to go back and read the first one, which I think is pretty high praise.

Alice works as a visual merchandiser in the luxury store owned by Thomas Moore and his family in New York. Thomas is attracted to Alice, but won’t admit it to himself as she is his employee and he does not wish to take advantage of his position. Due to his upbringing, Thomas is lacking in social skills and can’t express his feelings so Alice believes he does not like her because of the way he behaves.
Anyone but the Boss is really a book of two halves. The first half of the book concerns the upcoming Elvis-themed wedding of Thomas’s brother Chase in Las Vegas. Several of the store staff are making the trip, and I may be in a minority here but I found the humour a bit juvenile. In fact, I almost stopped reading at this point. The morning after the wedding, Alice and Thomas wake up in bed together, wearing matching rings, with no memory of what went on the night before. What is the likelihood that they would believe they had got married, without further investigation, but you just have to go along with it for the rest of the story to make sense.
I much preferred the second part of the storyline when Alice and Thomas take over parenting duties for Mary who has been abandoned by her mother (Alice’s foster sister). Mary is a delightful child who wins Thomas over and enables him to loosen up and show how kind he is underneath his stern exterior. Thomas’s mother Emily’s reaction to Mary is also a revelation – we see a completely different side to her. All that’s needed to complete the picture is a hairless cat with a bad attitude.
The story is told from the point of view of both Alice and Thomas so we get a rounded picture of what is going on. The characters are well written and believable, and develop as the story goes on. Naturally there is a lot of humour or everything might have seemed a bit dark. This is the second book in a series and I have not read the first one, but I don’t think it really mattered. Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for a digital copy to review.

Here we have a book for all book lovers that are into fake dating/marriage that takes place in Vegas. This is the second book which I totally missed and I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the first one first but it still gets 3 stars since I found it to my liking.

This book is anything but boring. You have Vegas, and a fake marriage. This book will keep you intrigued!

This book was so much fun and I caught my self laughing on multiple occasions. I did not read the first book in the series which I probably should have according to others, but honestly it was still so much fun for me. There was so excellent spice in this book which I absolutely loved, and not to mention the groveling from the MMC. I would definitely recommend this book!

I really enjoyed this grumpy sunshine romance. It was fun, engaging with great character development, the quirky cast of characters including one hilarious hairless cat.
I haven't read any of the others in this series but that wasn't an issue. Each story while featuring the same family features one pivotal couple per book.
I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is book 2 in the Anyone But You series by Sara L. Hudson, started Mike Hunt, the true MMC. All joking aside, I really enjoyed this fun, campy, romcom.

In book 2, we return to Moore’s department store, only this time, the story focuses on Thomas and Alice. We briefly met these two in book 1. While I didn’t love them as much as I did Bell and Chase, their story was still super sweet.

Thomas is the classic, grumpy, uptight executive and Alice is the plucky, former foster kid, turned visual marketing genius. Thomas hates impropriety and therefore is vehemently against dating a coworker, no matter how much he may like her. After things go down in Vegas at his brother’s wedding, Thomas and Alice’s relationship with one another gets much more tangled.

Trying to keep custody of her niece means that Alice needs to woo social services. In steps Thomas, her grumpy knight in suite and tie armor. As they work together to keep Alice’s niece safe, emotions build and feelings that were previously hidden start to break free.

Overall this was a good read! With some good open door scenes and loads of emotional baggage, this book is sure to entertain!

Happy Reading

ANYONE BUT THE BOSS By SaraL. Hudson

Recently promoted marketing manager Alice Truman should be celebrating her successful career change. Instead, after a lifetime of foster-care hard knocks, she’s thrust into insta-caregiver mode when her foster sister cuts town, leaving behind her ailing father and five-year-old daughter.
With new bills mounting daily, Alice needs her job more than ever. So when her boss, who’s marrying into the Moore family, invites her to be a bridesmaid in their crazy Sin City wedding, saying no is not an option.
At least everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right?
Not exactly.
When Thomas and Alice wake up after a night of drinking their troubles away in the hotel bar, they find they have a whole new set of ball-and-chain consequences to drag home to New York.

I’ve really enjoyed this book. From the first line, which had me laughing straight away, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. It’s really nicely paced and the writing flows beautifully. I thought that Thomas was the prefect grump to Alice’s sunshine and I thought they were perfect for each other. I loved Alice, she’s so sweet and her heart is always in the right place. I loved her relationship with her her pseudo-niece Mary. I haven’t read the first book in the series but it didn’t matter as this can easily be read as a standalone. This is easily one of the funniest and sweetest books that’s I’ve read in a long time.
