A lovely journal that encourages the reader to interact with the natural world around them. I appreciate that the activities and prompts are very approachable and don’t require the reader to be an expert or avid outdoorsman.

Excellent, engaging guide to richer interactions with nature in urban environments. Truly inspiring prompts and activities to look closer and engage more with the flora and fauna that surround us wherever we are.

I really loved this journal! I've been using it for a mo th now and it has really been helping me to look at the environment around me in a new light as well as taking the time to reflect on nature.
The range of activities in here were good from checklists of things to spot in the wild, to writing your own poems. There's definitely a wide range of things to do!

The only thing I would have liked to have more of are journalling pages for making notes about the things we've seen, or a few pages extra for sketching and scrapbooking things we find.

Overall this is a pretty decent journal and one I will be using through the year!

This is a cute little journal for those looking to connect with nature. Wasn't quite what I was looking for, but would be awesome for someone wanting to take time to observe the weather, flowers, and other living things around them.

This is a lovely book which looks beautifully illustrated and laid out. It isn't a book to be read electronically as it is designed to be used as a journal or written record of the year. It encourages you to look around and notice how the months and seasons change, recording observations, drawing and reflecting. Each month is introduced with an overview of what's happening in the natural world, then there are poems, exercises and prompts for observations and reflections. Highly recommended.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an e-copy of this book for review.

The title of this book caught my attention because I moved a significant distance during the pandemic and am only now starting to explore and experience my new city. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly, I really liked it. I'll say right from the start that it is set up for people in the Northern Hemisphere, particularly Americans. As someone who lives in the Southern Hemisphere now (told you it was a big move!), the fact that the book is set up by seasons AND months makes it a little less user friendly and usable for me.

That being said, the book has a beautiful layout. I love that every month has a place to track the moon cycle and the weather.. Places to record the plants and animals you see. The sensory lists where you describe the items you see, hear, smell, and feel, make me feel very connected to my environment. The reader can tell that each of the beautiful poems and quotes were chosen to reinforce the seasonal elements. Each month has a different focus, be it celestial bodies, clouds, foraging, gardening, adventuring, etc, and there are plenty of places and guided prompts to journal your experiences with the topics. I especially enjoyed the resource list at the end of the book. This was a fantastic element to include.

Overall, i think this book will appeal to anyone looking to unplug from their rat race mentality and connect with the natural world around them.
