Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this.

Book 2 in the Ezekiola series. I still find this early days to have a proper feel of the series, but I did enjoy reading this second book in the series.

Ezekiola's life has changed drastically after merging with his evil brother, Zeke, and facing off against the SONS, and harnessing the power of the Fountain of Fire.

I am intrigued to see what the next book will hold.

In this action packed sequel, Ezekiola will again have to face off against the SONS. After harnessing the power of the Fountain of Fire and merging with his evil brother Zeke, Ezekiola's life will never be the same. As he begins training with the Emerald belts, their expectations are high, too high in fact. To regain Zeke's memories and fighting skills, Ezekiola will have to travel far. And unfortunately, the SONS are hot on his trail.

I really enjoyed this follow up to Ezekiola and the Emerald Belt. Great worldbuilding. You get to visit some unique and interesting planets in this entry. I especially liked the introduction to the Surrans. There's plenty of action and a good bit of backstory to flesh out the world. I will happily pick up the next installment when it's available.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Another winner in the Fountain of Fire series, I had enjoyed the first book a lot and thought it worked overall in the series. I thought the characters were everything that I hoped for. I hope there is more in this series.

Ezekiola and the Rising Sons is a wonderfully written story in epic hero-style, with timeless humanistic themes. Lucy Kyan continues the engaging saga of Ezekiola and his friends, and remains true to her vision of intertwining esoteric concepts and higher principles. In a world which today promotes the ephemeral, the excess, and the material, Lucy’s book is a refreshing tale of group unity, service, perseverance, and the triumph of good. Gespar is a particularly intriguing character who embodies the redemptive, prodigal journey - the path with which humanity is so familiar.

Children and adults will enjoy this book while absorbing the the underlying truths that make human experience so valuable.

Thanks, Netgalley and publisher for the opportunity to read and review!
Fast paced and intriguing story with truly impressive setting and world-building, interesting main cast of characters and it's perfectly ok if you haven't read the first book, there's enough backstory segments that allow the reader to continue with this book even as a standalone. There's also a cliffhanger at the end that definitely keeps you interested to follow the next installment.

I loved the first book in this series and was worried I wouldn’t like the second book as much, but it was just as good. I love Lucy Kyan’s writing style and world building. I was hooked from the beginning and loved revisiting this world and these characters. This series is quickly becoming a new favorite and I think about these characters and this world long after I’ve stopped reading. I’d recommend for all fantasy lovers.

Just like the first book in the series, I really enjoyed this 2nd book.
I didn’t want to put it down, reading nonstop whenever I had a moment in between work, and the usual responsibilities of life.
Including many deep and thought-provoking words to add to the imaginative and fascinating story line it’s a sure winner.

Review of Advance Reader Copy

Ezekiola endures Emerald training but struggles to meet the expectations of the trainers. Igor Sanza, certain that his student has not actually tapped into the Fountain of Fire, questions why Ezekiola does not tap into Zeke’s warrior skills now that the two have merged.

Ezekiola returns to Cypress School only to discover his friends are wary, concerned that he might be a threat. And, making things more troublesome, Falco Rasspan, the new head of the Forest Stewardship Council, is making things difficult for everyone.

What lies ahead for Ezekiola?

=========

Although this book is the second in the author’s Fountain of Fire series, readers will find sufficient backstory for the story to work as a standalone. With the expected characters in place, the unfolding narrative follows Ezekiola’s efforts to understand what has happened to him as a result of tapping into the Fountain of Fire and melding with Zeke.

Believable characters, a compelling plot, impressive world-building, and surprising revelations combine to keep readers turning the pages at breakneck speed; readers who enjoy science fiction and fantasy are sure to find much to appreciate in the evolving narrative that is both intriguing and unputdownable. Be warned, however; there’s a cliffhanger ending here.

Highly recommended.

I received a free copy of this book from The Book Whisperer, Leone Potere Press and NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I became a huge fan of Lucy Kyan when I read the first book in this series: “Ezekiola and the Emerald Belt”. When the first book is so great it’s difficult to live up to the expectations with no 2, but Lucy Kyan does that – and in a splendid way in my opinion. She is a gifted writer.
This book is captivating and exciting. It is filled with spirituality for those who have eyes to see and at the same time it’s pure pleasure to follow the storyline. Let me warn you: Make sure you have some time when you pick up this book – you won’t be able to put it down.
And now I can’t wait for the next book in the series! It is highly recommended!
