If there’s one thing about me, it’s that I’ll eat up a celebrity rom-com every single time. There’s something about the trope (probably the fact that I’ll never actually date a famous person) that draws me in like a moth to the flame. I Think He Knows was as ridiculously fun as it was cute. Normally, it takes me a while to get through an audiobook, but this was an easy listen and I quickly fell into the story.

The romance between the two main characters was so sweet. Carter Callahan, our male lead, was kind and gentle and thoughtful, and maybe at times a little dumb, but we love him for it. The female lead, Lana Mae, was also kind of dumb? I think the real culprit was the whole ‘will they, won’t they’. The characters were so obviously in love with each other, and yet were painfully oblivious for like 80% of the novel. I have never been so on the edge of my seat waiting for two people to kiss.

There were a lot of pop culture references throughout the story, which I don’t love. Honestly, a few of them aged badly (e.g. the mention of a certain ‘power’ couple who are currently going through a bit of a controversy). I also feel like a part of the conflict at the end was kind of silly, but it resolved quickly.

The audiobook itself was well done. The quality of the audio itself was good, and I thought the narrators did a decent job, although the male narrator's voice for the female characters was a little jarring, but it didn’t take me out of the story.

Overall, I thought this was fun! The characters were a little silly, but the romance had me kicking my feet and giggling whilst doing the dishes like a madman (sorry family). If you’re looking for another celebrity romance to add to your TBR, give this a try!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first Katie Bailey's book. This is the second book in the Donovan Family series, a Romantic Comedy. This is a great friends to lovers romance. The storyline is fun, sweet, and engaging. Avery Caris and Chris Ruen did a gread job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. I received a copy of this book through NetGalley, a Dreamscape Media Audio production, for an honest review.

Cute, while predictable, I really enjoyed this story. It made me smile and kick my feet. Had me giggling and enjoying every second of this read.

One of my favorite tropes in romance is a friends to lovers story, and I THINK HE KNOWS was such a cute story. It centers around Carter and Lana, who have been friends for a long time, when they find themselves at the front and center of a fake engagement in the media.

It was a feel good story overall, that made for the best kind of palate cleanse with my emotional reading lately, and I thought the audiobook format was so cute, the narration cast was well done.

*many thanks to Dreamscape and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review

I Think He Knows is the second book in Katie Bailey’s Donovan Family series. Lana Mae Donovan first meets her best friend for life Carter James Callahan when she pays her boyfriend Steven a visit at his fraternity house. While Lana Mae is a high school senior, Steven is in his freshman college year and, apparently, as many college girls as he could convince. When Carter witnesses an unrepentant Steven leave their dorm room with a young lady and the subsequent effect it has on Lana Mae, Carter becomes Lana Mae’s protector and confidant. And when the first signs of her pregnancy appear all over Carter’s shoes after her seeing Steven that night, he is alongside her throughout her pregnancy, when Allegra is born, and when, a few months later, her mother unexpectedly dies.

In the months to follow, and the years to follow, Carter is always there for Lana Mae and Allegra. And Lana Mae was there for him too when she pushed Carter to go to California when an agent saw him in a local bit he did to help put himself through college and asked him to come. Now, 10 years later, Carter Callahan is a top action star with all the accouterments, including a large house in Buckhead, in his native Atlanta. As much as Lana Mae dreams about a different relationship with her best friend, this is the relationship she has and she wants to do nothing to tamper with it and possibly lose it.

In a highly publicized Vegas fist fight, Carter came out the gossip rag loser, putting his reputation at risk. When the possibility of the lead role in an upcoming movie may be in jeopardy now, Carter’s agent Alaina comes up with a “nice guy” scheme to pair him with a young singer with the goal of a fake engagement to push both careers forward. However, the story that the tabloids pick up is of Carter and his best friend/sweetheart from Atlanta getting together.

As the story builds, twists, and redirects from this point it makes it a beautiful friends to lovers story. I very much enjoyed this book and, although this is the first book by this author I have read, it definitely will not be the last! I do recommend this book!

Although I am not a typical friends to lovers romance lover this book was definitely a fun read. This book does not get enough hype!

This book follows Carter and Lana who have been friends for forever. When the tabloids accidentally get a tip and run the story that these two are engaged! Not one to turn away good press they end up rolling with the story and find themselves in some tricky situations. The secret pining, fake dating and fantastic chemistry make this book hard to put down.

Since Lana is a single mom there is a whole extra dynamic that makes the story really flow. They do a good job of making a celebrity romance really feel relatable and they amount of moments that Carter swoops in to help not only Lana but her daughter make this book sweet and fun to read. Carter is a great character that you find yourself rooting for but the drama is realistic and understandable.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a swoon worthy friends to lovers romance. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read this story.

This is a very cute and wholesome friends to more story and is the second book of the Donavan Family series. I listened to this and the first book as an audiobook and loved the narration in both. I was glad to see Lana getting her own story. Her and Carter had such a special friendship for years, each secretly pining for the other, and then they come to a point where they have to pretend they are engaged and true feelings start to finally come out. I loved catching up with Legs, she was such a fun, sassy, and lovable girl! You can certainly read this as a standalone, but personally I think you will enjoy this more if you read the first one, where you first meet Lana Mae and Legs in Liam's story.
A truly enjoyable and feel-good story that left me with a warm feeling inside and a smile on my face. The narrators did an excellent job of capturing the emotion and the essence of the story and really bringing it to life. I'm looking forward to reading/ listening to more!

I can’t do it. I don’t think this author is for me, but the writing is very juvenile and doesn’t fit with the character voices.

I Think He Knows is a cozy, yet sexy, friends to lovers romance that just gives you all the feels! You can only imagine what ensues when single Mom, Lana Mae, ends up fake dating her super hot best friend, Carter - oh and did we mention that he is a mega-famous actor?! Romance lovers from all the sub-genres will find something to love in this story!

Lana Mae is just the type of character that you really want to cheer for and Carter seems almost too good to be true. You are shipping for them from the very beginning of this story. There is such good pining in this book. This isn't quite a slow-burn romance, more like a medium speed one. It is very believable and such a good listen. The audiobook flew right by and I kept thinking, "just one more chapter".

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. As usual check the trigger warnings, but other than that this is a novel that all romance lovers will enjoy. It is a bit spicy, but comes nowhere near erotica. I honestly can't wait to read more by this author and will be suggesting this one far and wide.

I think He Knows by Katie Bailey is a friends to lovers romance with an engaging narrator. This is the second book in the series. If you can start with the first book, I recommend it, but you will not be lost if you don't. It was a 5 star read for me.

Lana is a single mother who fell in love with her best friend, Cater, years ago. After they met, Cater became famous, but has always carried a torch for Lana. Carter got in some hot water for a fight and needs to clean up his image. His PR team has him going out on the town with another well known celebrity. News breaks that they are getting married and Carter goes back to his home town to lay low. Could this finally work between Lana and Carter?

Thank you, NetGalley, for the copy of the audiobook. All opinions are my own. #KatieBailey #IThinkHeKnows #NetGalley #DreamscapeMedia

I adored "So That Happened" by Katie Bailey, so I was very excited to see Lana Mae get her happy ending! "I Think He Knows" is a friends to fake dating to lovers, romantic comedy full of swoony, heartwarming moments and lots of sexual tension. We've got a single-mom, celebrity best friend, absolute bundle of fluffy sweetness in this book and I very much look forward more from Katie Bailey. Definitely recommend!
The narration was also fantastic :)

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for this ALC!

First I would like to thank Dreamscape Media for providing me a copy of the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

This is the story of Lana Mae, single mother, and Carter, Hollywood actor, who have been best friends for years, are hopelessly in love with each other but refuse to tell each other. When Carter gets into some trouble with the press Lana Mae volunteers to play his fiancé to help his image. While they pretend being engaged lines start to get crossed and they figure out each others feelings.

What I Loved:
- Audiobook quality, I'm such a sucker for dual POV in books and this audiobook knocks it out of the park with the voice actors. Also, just compared to other audiobooks since I listen at 2X I appreciate I don't lose quality when increasing the speed.
- Legs (Allegra), Lana Mae's daughter is a 9 year old spit fire who sees much more than people expect her and does a great job hooking both her mom and Carter into the fake engagement scheme
- Lana Mae's siblings, I loved that Lana Mae was so close to her brothers and their chosen partners. The family group chat was some of my favorite parts of the entire book
- Friends to lovers, I'm such a sucker for a friends to lovers story and the fact that Carter supported Lana Mae through a lot of life changing events for her just made me love him all the more
- Hollywood actor, I love a famous person trope too cause its always fun to see how the author is going to make the "normal" persona and really both versions of Carter are extremely swoony.

This was such a fun and quick audiobook that I was finding excuses to clean, drive or go for longer walks so I could listen more. I spent a lot of the book laughing and wanting to strangle both Lana Mae and Carter cause the slow burn got almost frustrating at points. If you are looking for a sweet friends to lovers closed door romance with a family aspect then I would absolutely recommend this book. Also, if you love an audiobook you can laugh along with PLEASE check this audiobook out.

I Think He Knows
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Author: Katie Bailey

I requested an audio advanced readers copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.

Synopsis: I fell in love with Carter James Callahan’s smart-mouthed smirk long before it was labeled “The Sexiest Smile In Hollywood”. I also fell for his broad, muscular shoulders, his impossibly blue eyes, his… Nope! Not going there anymore. Because while Carter may frequent my dreams every night, I will only ever frequent his friend zone. Which is why I’m on an official mission to rid myself of my pesky feelings for him—I’m gonna put myself out there, start dating, and stop hopelessly crushing on my best friend. Deep down, I know this is for the best. It would never work between I’m a single mom with an impressive collection of stained sweatpants, he’s a serial-dating celeb heartthrob who never wants to be tied down to anything or anyone. So when the media breaks a story that Carter is getting married, nobody is more shocked than I am. Especially when I click on the article and see that his mysterious fiancée is… me?!

My Thoughts: This is the second book in the Donovan Family series, which having read the first one, I was excited for. Lana and Carter have been best friends since that faithful night when she caught her boyfriend cheating on her and Carter was there just as a friend and not to sweep her off her feet. We follow their story on how they got in the friend zone, the decade it took to unravel those feelings, and the fake engagment story. This follows the tropes of fake relationship/engagement, friends to lovers, celebrity romance, and single mom. This is a clean, closed door romance story.

The story is narrated in a dual narration by both Carter and Lana. Lana was dealt a bad set of cards with the boyfriend that cheated, even becoming pregnant the first time they connected, for him to be a terrible excuse of a person. Lana is strong, fiercely independent, and has a heart of gold. Carter has developed a bad boy reputation and dates women like a person changes clothes. Carter is sexy, charming, and through the tough exterior is a caring and compassionate man. Carter and Lana have been secretly pining for each other for over a decade and this fake engagement tips the scales. The characters were well developed with depth, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and creatively built up. The supporting characters of Lana’s little girl, Allegra aka Legs (awesome nickname), and Carter’s assistant, Anthony shined really bright and really uplifted the story. The author’s writing style was complex, clean, swoon-worthy, humorous, and brilliant. I love Bailey’s writing style. I loved how Bailey incorporated celebrity romance with no drama and elevated the celebrity romance genre. I also loved the representation that the author incorporates on body positivity and single motherhood, both important topics, presented in a graceful way.

This was a sweet, endearing, heartwarming, and swoon-perfection read. Even though this is part of a series, this can be read as a standalone. The narrators were perfect for this storyline, did an amazing job at voice variation, and really brought the characters to life. I highly recommend picking up this book and the first one in the series. Both books are available on KU. If you love Emma St. Clair or Savannah Scott, you will love this one.

Thanks to Katie for the eARC and NetGalley/Dreamscape Media for the ALC of I Think He Knows.

I adored both the book and the audiobook versions of this book so much!

There were so many fun things within the pages of this book. Some of my favorites included:
- childhood (young adult??) friends-to-lovers
- he's a celebrity, she's a normal gal
- she's a single mom; he's been her bestie since she found out she was going to be a teen mom
- siblings
- texting, including: funny banter between the two main characters, and an out of control group chat with Lana Mae + siblings + their spouses + eventually Carter
- fake dating, fake engagement, forced proximity! oh my!
- a cat named Harry Styles
- the pop culture references, including but not limited to The Real Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, Gilmore Girls, Zac Efron's birthday party, and Target
- snarky school moms
- a "daddy" daughter campout
- an LA movie premiere
- sperm donor drama that makes you swoon?
- CARTER MAKES BREAKFAST! and other swoony moments that I don't want to spoil because they are WORTH THE WAIT, but he's one hot dog!
- closed door romance but with a lot of pining/tension and care between the main characters

Thanks to the author Katie and NetGalley/Dreamscape Media for early access to this one. Katie has quickly become an auto-buy author for me. These are my honest thoughts.

This was closed door romance perfection! It had it all! Romance, banter, tension and swoon. I loved the story the audio version was brilliant and I couldn't put it down. The narrators did a great job with capturing their characters. Carter and Lana were a great couple. Both harbouring feelings for each other and they have such a strong friendship that slowly develops into more. They had a great relationship and it was an easy transition from friends to more. This was a closed door romance but it still had all the tension and chemistry of an open door one. There was some great humour in this story i ahd many lol moments while listening. This was my first Katie Bailey book and I will be back for more.
