Ellie just wants to grow and is disappointed when her feet don't touch the floor. After her family shares the story of the magical avocado, she finally sees the magic in patience and growth. This book contains a great lesson for children and has beautiful pictures to suppport the text.

My son and I enjoyed this book. From a kid’s perspective the illustrations were great and story line easy for him to follow. As a mom, it was beautiful to see how the story followed through so many life changes. We will certainly be planting an avocado seed together to nurture and watch grow - I’m thankful for the idea for us to do something special together!

Avocado Magic is a the fun story of a little girl named Ellie who was impatient to grow up. Her dad told her that she needs to be patient, because she is like an avocado seed - full of magic! But the magic is slow, and it takes time to grow. So Ellie takes care of her avocado seed and nurtures it into a full-grown tree as she, too, grows along with it.

Beautiful analogy of how some things in life are slow and need to be savored and respected. Wonderful book for littles kids who can't wait to get older! 😂

Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!

Avocado Magic is a gorgeous book with a wonderful story. As much as we might not want them to, our kids always want to grow up and this book tells a tale of the magic of growing up and relates it to the growth of an avocado. We would definitely like to add a copy of this to our daughter’s collection of books and we’ll check out the author’s other works.

This book was absolutely beautiful in everyway. The artwork was so lovely to look at and we really enjoyed seeing all the little details that had been added into each page. The story also made me rather emotional and I really enjoyed reading this to my littles.

What a huge twist of fate it was that today I bought the same amount of avocados as children I have so it is going to be so incredibly fun taking the details at the end of the book and growing our own trees!!

This book is definitely going in my recommended books for all to enjoy.

I read this book to my 4yr old and 7yr old. They LOVED the beautiful illustrations! This story is about a little girl named ellie who is in a rush to grow up, but her father tells her she is like an avocado seed that needs sun, water and time to grow. They plant one together and enjoy watching it grow throughout the years

Amazing, adorable book! Beautiful illustrations and a great story. The book also shows you how to grow your own avocado tree! Ellie is sulking because her avocado tree isn't growing and neither is she - her father tells her to be patient and before long.....

I may not be a big fan of avocados or guacamole, but this picture book sure gave them lots of attention to it. "Avocado Magic" tells a story of young Ellie to adult Ellie and everything in between, as it's all surrounded by those avocados. It's cute seeing Ellie try to grow magic, from playing music to giving it lots of love. It's like a coming-of-age story, as the years pass by and the avocado tree blooms into something magical. Like her father always says, "...small but full of magic."

Dad said that Ellie is small but full of magic, like an avocado seed. Ellie can't wait to see what an avocado seed might bring to her. But as Dad said, she needs to wait and let it grow. Will Ellie be able to let it grow and see what the magic truly is?

This is a book that will help little readers understand what it takes to be patient. But I personally think that "Ellie's magic" could be more explored than this. I believe little readers could grasp that besides the growth of their bodies, the mind would also grow as well.

Other than that, this book is a nice read. The illustrations with warm tone are so much appealing to the eyes.

Avocado Magic is beautifully illustrated and the prose are perfect, a good way to teach youngsters about patience. (Especially in this world of electronics and instant gratification.)

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to review Avocado Magic in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to publisher NorthSouth Books for approving my NetGalley advance read copy request. And to author/illustrator Taltal Levi … nicely done! (And I'm trying to grow my own avocado tree.)

I think any child would enjoy the message of this book. It's very unique in the way it goes about using avocado growth to help children understand their own growth.

Avocado Magic is a touching story about patience and perseverance. When Ellie finally decides to wait patiently for the seed to grow, she sees magic. That magic continues to grow, just as she does, and is eventually fully grown, just let Ellie. A heartwarming look at life in comparison to an avocado tree. The avocado seed is like a young child. They both grow bit by bit, year by year until they are all grown. Beautiful illustrations tie in with the book’s brilliant text! A must-read.
