This book was an absolute delight. I haven't ever read a book with two absolutely loveable characters. Mia is our heroine, she is so sweet and empathetic, an amazing teacher and she loves being close to her family. Alex is handsome, hardworking and successful businessman who is brought in to update a company's business practices. His biggest holdout turns out to be Mia's dad.

I could not put this book down. The chemistry between Mia and Alex is off the charts, plus the forbidden nature of their attraction just adds to fun. The book is also filled with wonderful side characters. I highly recommend this book, it's wonderful.

I voluntarily read and reviewed and advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for the arc.

NICUnurse’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭑

After reading and thoroughly enjoying Planes, Trains, and All the Feels, there was no way I would miss reading Livy Hart’s next book. I know the story is marketed as a rom-com, but I honestly didn’t feel like it was your typical one. It definitely had some solid rom-com moments and elements, but there was more emotion and character growth with the hero and heroine than what you read in most of them. And their relationship developed so organically that it felt more realistic than most rom-coms tend to lean toward. The slow burn was its own kind of foreplay, which led to some spicy scenes, but they didn’t overpower the developing relationship, either. Neither main character was more dominant, with both struggling with their pasts in what felt like equal measure. The supporting cast of characters wasn’t overwhelming, and all served an essential purpose in the story. And the plot ebbed and flowed like the soothing waves rolling in and out on the perfect sunny beach day. It was, simply put, a well-balanced story all around. Oh, and I’m from Georgia, so I was paying attention to the setting, and with some leeway given because this is fiction after all, the author did a great job incorporating actual places into the story without it feeling disingenuous. My only beef with the ending is the lack of a good scene between Alex and Mia’s dad, where they talk out their differences or whatever they would have done to come to the point where they understood each other better and fixed their relationship. Regardless, Livy Hart hit this one out of the park, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s next from her.

Overall this book was not for me. Note this review contains spoilers.

What I did like:
The adoption scene was pretty cute and Alex’s devotion to Andi was sweet.

Alex’s character development as he came to realize what he wanted in his life.

What I didn’t like:
The theme of Mia and Alex sneaking around and hiding their relationship from Mia’s dad felt very juvenile for established adults.

Josie was the worst best friend. The dinner scene where Mia’s ex-fiancé’s parents joined the group was incredibly awkward and Josie completely ignored the situation she put Mia in because she so obsessed with her own boyfriend. Even Alex (still a stranger to Mia at this point) could see how distressed Mia was. This next part is minor but while reading I just thought, the audacity of Josie to order dessert and prolong this insufferable event longer!

Alex’s knee jerk proposal I can understand given his lack of experience and role models of what a relationship should look like. But Mia’s response to have her stuff “secretly” moved in while Alex is at work??? They had just barely started acknowledging that they were in a relationship. Boundaries. Communication. I was more baffled by her response and that Alex’s best friend would agree to her plan.

What I would have liked to see:
At one point Mia’s dad gave Alex advice, as he recognized that Alex was a lot like him when he was younger. Alex had the thought that no one ever cared enough to give him advice. I thought this hinted at potential that they could develop the father-son type of relationship that neither of them had (Alex coming from a neglectful home and Mia’s dad only having daughters). I thought that would have been really sweet to see develop.

I would have liked to see some type of closure with Alex’s family. His rocky relationship with his cousin is brought up a few times, we learn that his cousin owes a lot of money and a drug lord knows where he lives, and then poof. It’s never spoken of again. Did Alex ever talk to his cousin to stand up for himself and the way his cousin abuses their familial ties? Did the drug lord ever come for this cousin? Or was it all a lie to try and guilt more money out of Alex?

Lastly, I wish we saw more growth with Mia. She is consumed with taking care of others and not herself.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Netgalley, Entangled Teen and Livy Hart for providing me with the opportunity to read and review this advanced reader copy (ARC).

Entangled Teen consistently delivers enjoyable reads, and this book was no exception. I found myself thoroughly immersed in the story and captivated by the dynamics between the characters. The author's portrayal of the characters felt refreshingly realistic, which made the reading experience all the more engaging.

Mia, in particular, stood out to me as a character I truly admired. Her thoughtfulness and genuine care for her students as a teacher, as well as her devotion to her family, added depth to her personality. As her relationship with Alex developed, it was clear that her commitment to him would be unwavering. I appreciated how the author handled moments of angst, with Mia seeking counsel and making thoughtful decisions that contrasted with Alex's impulsive nature. This contrast made their love story feel all the more authentic.

The inclusion of an epilogue was a delightful touch, providing a satisfying conclusion to the narrative. It left me with a sense of closure and contentment.

If I could make one request, it would be for the author to explore the romance between best friends Ezra and Josie in a future work, as I've become invested in their story as well.

In summary, this book from Livy Hart was a thoroughly enjoyable read with realistic characters and a heartfelt storyline. I highly recommend it to fellow readers, and I look forward to more offerings from this author in the future.

Oh my 😍 Some of my favorite tropes - enemies to lovers and forbidden love!
Love how the book started and how Mia and Alex kept getting connected. I'm a sucker when I know they will end up together and able to see how the relationship unfolds along the journey.
Both of them have things to get over in their past to be able to make a relationship work for their future. There's some spice to the book as well after a slow burn.

Mia and Alex swiped right on each other, but their first date doesn't go according to plan. Things get more awkward when Mia finds out that Alex is the new boss her father can't stop complaining about.

This is one of those books where the chemistry between the couple isn't evident in the beginning. Their relationship starts with a bad date and they have no intention of ever seeing each other again. But Mia and Alex are forced to spend time together because their best friends are dating. And there are office events that Mia attends with her father, which puts her in Alex's orbit.

It's actually amazing how the author managed to pull this off because Alex and Mia ended up having such good chemistry. After Mia and Alex realize that there's chemistry between them, Mia's father is the only thing that's really stopping them from crossing that line. Mia doesn't want to get involved with someone her father hates and Alex doesn't want to complicate his already complicated relationship with Mia's father. But it comes to the point where they can't deny their chemistry and they start seeing each other secretly. I know that the my-dad-hates-you conflict sounds a bit old-fashioned, but the author makes it work here. There's enough backstory to understand why Mia doesn't want to trigger her father. It was also interesting to see how this conflict is resolved in a realistic way.

As much as I liked the romance, the corporate theme triggered me so much. I got triggered by Alex simply because he's upper management. I liked Alex outside the office, but I didn't care much for him inside the office. I know it sounds harsh, but anyone who represents corporate automatically leaves a bad taste in my mouth, even if they are fictional lol. There are also a couple of odd things that didn't quite make sense to me. For instance, I hard a hard time believing that Alex is a 26 year old who had made it this far in the corporate world. I also had a hard time accepting that anyone could just go into the office building without going through security first. Mia was just going in and out of her father's office building with no access card lol. It's the same thing when Alex visited Mia in school. As far as I know, schools have heightened security now, so I can't understand how Alex entered the school building without getting a visitor ID first.

Anyway, corporate world and fallacies aside, this was a fun and swoony contemporary romance. I really like Livy Hart's brand of contemporary romance. I've enjoyed all of her books so far and I can't wait for more books from her!

Mia can’t avoid Alex!

Preschool teacher Mia Madden had low expectations with online dating after being ghosted twice but there was something about Alex’s profile made her swipe right. But finding out that he was Alex Conroy and her father’s boss and the guy he complains about the most when Alex was hired to reorganize Peachtree Tech.

Mia never intended to see Alex again but their best friends were dating and something kept pushing them towards each other even when it’s the last thing they should do even when she was sleeping with the enemy.

Some Kind of Blunderful is funny and cute between Mia and Alex with a little help from their friends and family.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for having this book for me to read. This book gave me a break in a long week that I needed some me time. It had everything a good book should have to pull in to my zone.
I laughed, I jumped up and down and popped me in the heart a few times.
This is the second book I have read by this author, and I know for sure it will not be the last.
The characters in this book were perfect. I want to meet them all again someday.
Thank you NetGalley, Livy Hart and Entangled Publishing, LLC for the arc of Some Kind of Blunderful. This is my personal review.

Some Kind of Blunderful by Livy Hart is ALL KINDS OF WONDERFUL!

I absolutely love Mia! She is on the dating scene again after being left at the altar over a year ago.

She is waiting for her date to show up who is 30 minutes late and she is telling her friend about how awful his dating profile is and Alex hears her. Not the best meet CUTE!

They have their AWFUL date and never see each other again, or that is how it was supposed to be.
Until we find out that Alex is Mia's father's new boss.

I loved this book. The dual POV and slow burn were fantastic.

This was such a fantastic romance that I really enjoyed.

This was such a cute book. At first I thought our MMC was going to be a butt the whole book and was like nooo not in a Livy Hart book but Alex slowly brought himself around as a misunderstood sweetheart. Mia was so fun and the complete opposite of Alex.

All their chance encounters that bring them together were also fun and interesting and brought that tension and great chemistry. Love Josie and Ezra and the puppy, Andi, sounded adorable. My one issue if you will is that the ending was rushed. We get conflict with Mia’s dad and Alex the whole book but it really ramps up at the end but it’s fixed with one conversation and then there’s the epilogue. I would have appreciated more conversation especially with Mis and Alex after the conflict with her dad and another with her dad and Alex. Those two missed opportunities just made it feel very rushed.

Overall great book for those who love a good fun and steamy romcom!

Livy Hart is my new favourite author! She really shows how romcoms can be done! There is so much to love about these characters! There is growth and love (beneath the hatred)! I laughed and swooned (it's HOT)! Just beautiful! Will be rereading and getting a physical copy too!

Oh my goodness, this book! It was so so so wonderful.

I’m writing this review on the high of finishing it, and I just loved it so much. I loved all of the characters, how they were all multi dimensional, and just how good they were to each other. They felt so real.

I loved that this book was a DUAL POV, because it honestly made me just love Alex. Sweet, sweet Alex. You love a MC who has gone through some tough shit, but it doesn’t make him a bad person, you see how he learns from his actions and how he transforms. And ugh, I loved Mia. She’s so strong, resilient and fun. She’s someone i’d love to be friends with. If I could hang out with her and Josie, I know I'd have a good time.

When I first started this book, I was like *YIKES THIS IS TOO REAL*, Livy captured only dating to a T. I don’t remember the last time I highlighted so much in a book. I loved the hate flirting, the tension, the way they were drawn to each other and just kept running into each other. All of it was perfect.

I just loved it. Some Kind of Blunderful comes out on 9/26, Preorder this now, you won’t regret it!

Thank you Entangled Publish and netgalley for the arc, you made my day with it!

Its official. I am 100% in love with Livy Hart and will read anything she releases. Some Kind of Blunderful was everything I'm looking for in a enemies to lovers rom-com and more. I laughed so much and the spicy scenes that Livy writes are not what you think when you see her adorable covers, they are filthy, lengthy and so dang good.

I didn't even think Alex was the MMC when this book started. I honestly thought he was gonna swoop in and save her from this absolutely terrible dating app date she found herself on... And then the next thing I know we're getting his POV and I'm wondering how in the heckers am I going to end up liking this guy? Livy. That's how. Alex wormed his way into mine and Mia's hearts in the smoothest way possible, I'm not sure either of us saw the real Alex coming until we were swooning over how freaking sweet and adorable he turned out to be. I ended up loving him so, so much.

I loved all the characters and dynamics in this story. Her dad had me on a bit of a roller coaster of emotions with his feelings about Alex, but he was truly such an amazing dad. Her sisters were great too and then Ezra and Josie were incredible best friends. I even loved so many of the PTT employees, aside from Mason and his parents, there wasn't many villains to be found in this book except their unfortunate circumstances.

I already want to read this one again and again. Watching these two get their happily ever after was amazing. I can't wait to see what Livy brings us next and in the meantime I'm jumping back to Talk Flirty to Me to get my fix while she brings us her next masterpiece.

This story is super cute! I think I got some ideas for my dating profile from just the first couple chapters! haha The will they or won't they had me frustrated!! Definitely enjoyed the spice in this book, loved the overall plot and found it to be a great romcom! I will absolutely be reading more from Livy Hart!

Some Kind of Blunderful follows Mia and Alex. Mia was left at the alter and Alex is busy working and making an enemy of Mia’s dad. The two go on a date, which starts and ends poorly. The two then go on another date… it’s a blind date, a double date actually, with their two best friends. The two keep bumping into each other. Will they remain enemies? Or become more?
.
.
Such a fun read! I laughed, teared up, kicked my feet, and swooned. The enemies to lovers banter was just perfection. I really liked this! The characters were so fun and perfect. Love love love!

What happens when a pre-schoool teacher discovers the guy she met on a dating app and trying to figure out out is her dad's boss? The shenanigans and games are non-stop because you can’t win unless you play. Oh, and the rules, some are meant to be bent a wee bit while others, are sometimes meant to be broken 😉

If Mia and Alex can overcome expectations, clear up a few assumptions, and take a leap of faith they will realize the past doesn’t define you. Not only are Mia and Alex fabulous, the secondary characters are just as compelling, and bring an extra layer of yum to the plot.

This has ...

💛 enemies to lovers
💛 “he falls first" with a heavy dose of “she fell but needs to put herself first”
💛 Lots of games 😉
💛 A Dating App
💛 Banter for days
💛 Slow burn that Scorches
💛 “The Office” vibes
💛 Friends and Family that are there no matter what

Livy, you delivered so many memorable laugh-out-loud moments! Who knew shopping for a registry could be so fun, or a relaxing soak in a hot tub 😉. 🔥

I will admit that I feel very torn with Some Kind of Blunderful - I love Livy Hart's writing but her books have been a toss up for how much I enjoy them/love them. While I ADORED Planes, Trains and All the Feels - I didn't connect to Some Kind of Blunderful as much as I hoped.

I love meet cutes, but I also love meet disasters and this one had me laughing - yet, even after the meet disaster, Mia and Alex continue to run into each other every where they go. Including being set up on a blind date.
I love the banter between the two MCs and I definitely felt their chemistry. The spice was fantastic (Livy Hart knows how to write spice!) and I really appreciated that the third act breakup was realistic and showed growth & communication between the characters.

Huge thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC & thank you for providing #joyfulchaosbookclub with widgets! My opinion is 100% my own.

This book is classic Livy Hart perfection - complete with the witty jokes, banter, and completely swoonworthy book baes. I recently read and loved her book prior to this one: Planes, Train, and All the Feels (a perfectly well done spin on the iconic Thanksgiving movie.) and this one I loved even more. This book really is forced proximity cranked up a few notches, and I absolutely loved Alex and Mia. Ironically, Mia is a Pisces and Alex is a Virgo, much like me and my husband. Once one of the characters mentions that, everything clicked for me and I was like, omg are we them? Are they us? Definitely pick this one up, it's a fav from Livy for me.

I seriously ADORED this book so much! I was smiling through almost the entire thing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️ 🌶️

After a disastrous first date, Mia has 0 expectations of seeing Alex ever again. Little does she know, their respective best friends are in love, AND he’s her dad’s new boss (who her dad has been hating on)!

They keep getting thrown into each others’ paths, and realize that neither is as the other first thought. Mia and Alex can’t help the pull they have to one another, but they’re both unsure the impact that will have on those around them.

I really fell for both Mia & Alex, especially as we got to know their characters a little better. Alex was such a total cinnamon roll, even though he claimed to have no clue what to do in relationships. They were both just so sweet, not wanting to hurt anyone but also not being able to deny the pull between them.

So I know it’s been mentioned this is great for fans of The Office, but I’ve never watched it and still really loved the book!

What you’ll find in Some Kind of Blunderful:
⭐️ Enemies(ish) to lovers
⭐️ Forbidden
⭐️ Secret dating
⭐️ Opposites attract
⭐️ “I don’t WANT to like you” vibes
⭐️ Teacher fmc
⭐️ Banter
⭐️ Small town
⭐️ Slow burn
⭐️ Dual POV/first person

This was my first, and definitely won’t be my last, Livy Hart book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an advanced copy to review. All opinions are my own.
