After reading Planes, Trains and All the Feels, I was super excited to read this new novel by Livy Hart, and it surpassed my expectations! I loved it so much that I finished it and immediately started it again.
Mia and Alex get off on the wrong foot, catch some feelings and have to sneak around because he is her dad's boss. They bring the heat (and I mean 🔥) the entire book.
I really enjoyed how their push/pull felt natural and not drawn out. Their motivations and concerns remained consistent throughout the book which led me to really connect with them. And I especially liked that there were no stupid mistakes that made me scream during the 3rd act snafu. Just two people who navigating a tough dynamic.
I highly recommend this one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'll be honest, after the initial meet cute/meet HOT DISASTER, I was thinking, "There's no WAY Livy Hart made Alex the male main character." And when I flipped to the next chapter and saw Alex's name at the top, my heart sank, dread in the pit of my stomach, and I thought, "There's no WAY Alex can redeem himself." Here he was, half an hour late to their first date, then takes a 20 minute business call as soon as they sit down to eat, before proceeding to criticize her job, her hometown, and her favorite food. He has a condescending, matter-of-fact delivery to every word he says. But redeem himself he does. Actually, he probably doesn't redeem himself so much as we learn the reasons why he is the way he is, which is why I'm really glad it was dual-POV. Seeing Alex only through Mia's eyes wouldn't have been enough to convince me they were meant to be together.
As if the odds weren't already stacked against them, Alex is also Mia's dad's new boss, who took the job he believed was rightfully his (but she doesn't know this until they're introduced at her dad's office). She would have put the puzzle pieces together sooner, if she had known Alex's last name was "Conroy," which is how her dad refers to him. They had no plans to see each other again, until they're set up on a blind double date and learn that their best friends are dating. Side note, I LOVED Josie and Ezra (can we PLEASE get a prequel with their story???). After they run into each other again and again, they discover they have sizzling hot chemistry, so they start seeing each other in secret (since her dad would have a heart attack if he found out). They both don't anticipate falling for the other, and Alex is a much more willing participant than Mia. Mia definitely had more to lose (i.e., her relationship with her dad), so she was the resistant one in the relationship from the start.
I liked Mia and Alex's character growth from beginning to end. Alex learns that he doesn't have to be alone, and Mia learns that she can lean on other people, especially Alex (and that she doesn't have to cater to her dad's opinion). I loved the dog adoption scene, how endearing yet clueless Alex is with his unexpected new puppy, Andi (originally Dandelion, which he thinks is a dumb name). This scene brought out his vulnerable side, and there's nothing better than a gruff, grumpy man showing his emotions and vulnerability. It was so sweet how affected he was by Andi crying on the camera he set up to watch her while at work (very Alex of him). The kiss cam scene, the grand gestures, when Alex talks to the little boy in time out? Super cute! This book is classic romantic comedy goodness.
What would have made this a 5 star read? This was a delicious slow burn, but the ending felt abrupt. I would have liked for the conclusion to be more drawn out, but I did enjoy the epilogue. I would have liked to see when Mia's dad finally accepted Alex into the family, because beyond his apology to Mia the next day, there is no resolution to his issues with her relationship. Alex's backstory could have used more developing. The plotline with the cousin almost felt unnecessary since there was no resolution.
I felt like Mia's sisters, Hazel and Lucy, were a bit flat and two-dimensional. Josie was more three-dimensional than they were. It seemed like Mia doesn't see them a lot, even though she flaunts how family-oriented she is. It is a central part of her identity and what separates her from Alex, who has no family. I feel like all small town romances work best as interconnected standalones, so I would have liked to have Mia's sisters' stories, even if they were just prequels. It also would have been nice to see Alex interact, and stumble through his interaction, with her nieces and nephew. And what about her dad's relationship with Mia's ex's parents? The ex's dad came to his birthday, but we don't hear anything about their mending friendship beyond that.
Livy Hart always nails the opposites attract, enemies to lovers romances, so I'd like to see her branch out with the next book. She kind of reminds me of Ali Hazelwood, in that she knows what she's good at so sticks with the same tropes and the same character archetypes (Alex was a lot like Luke from Trains, Planes, and All the Feels). Not that I haven't eaten it up each time, but it would be nice for her to leave her comfort zone and mix things up a bit. But all in all, this book was a hit, and I know I'll be thinking about it for a long time!
Thank you SO much to the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest, voluntary review!

I’m not sure how it’s possible, but every new Livy Hart story I read I love even more! Her voice is so sharp and clever, her characters so genuine, that you can’t help but fall as deeply in love with them as they fall for each other! Im so excited NetGalley gave me early access to SOME KIND OF BLUNDERFUL in exchange for my honest review!
Mia Madden hasn’t been lucky in love, especially not her latest date. Alex may have been gorgeous, but they seem to disagree on everything except the fact that the date is a certified disaster. She leaves with every intention of wiping Alex—and their mortifying interaction—from her memory.
Except he’s everywhere in her small Georgia town. That corporate jerk boss her dad can’t stop complaining about? Check. The blind double date her best friend set her up on? Hi again. And while they are definitely, absolutely… probably not accidentally dating, Mia finds herself looking forward to the next inevitable run in.
MIA AND ALEX 😍😍 I love them so much! Livy does such an amazing job making their first few interactions genuinely terrible. They’re both so awkward and it really is the WORST first date, but their transition from antagonistic to friendly to romantic is so smooth and natural, in the end you believe wholeheartedly in their love! Their backgrounds and experiences are so different, and I loved watching them challenge each others world views! Like you’d expect from Livy Hart, it’s equal parts beautiful, sexy, and so damn hilarious your sides hurt!
If you haven’t already, make sure you preorder it so it hits your kindle first thing on September 25!!!

Some Kind of Blunderful by Livy Hart ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. Alex and Mia, meant to be…or not? I loved this book! Will they or won’t they had me hanging onto to edge of my seat. I relate a lot to Mia with quirkiness but loving and closeness with her family. This book was a wild ride, secret hookups, and a spicy bit of sunshine 🥵. Definitely recommend, I couldn’t put it down once I started it! A super quick read for me😍.

I LOVED this one! Mia and Alex try so hard not to be together but fate just keeps throwing them in each other's orbit. Oh and, oops, he's her dad's boss that her dad kinda sorta hates 🫠 Mia and Alex were spilicy and sweet. Their banter was great and I thought the ending was so good🫶

🪐microtrope: realistic 👏 number 👏of orgasms per sexual encounter
(I'm embarrassed to even say this but I never watched The Office and apparently there are some nods to the show in the book which I know will appeal to a lot of readers!)

Thank you Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This is the second novel that I have read by this author and am I so glad that I have read it. Did not disappoint. What an enjoyable read. The banter between Mia and Alex was a joy to read. The entire book kept my attention. READ IT.

3.75/5 ⭐⭐⭐
**Many thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for sharing this advanced digital copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.**
This was cute. It reminded me a little of The Hatung Game, my absolute favorite enemies to lovers office romance. This wasn't exactly the same, but I felt some similarities.
I was really into the first 50% but I lost some interest after that. The reason being that the big deal that the two MCs couldn't be together was Mia's dad. And this reason annoyed me as the story went on.
Basically Alex the MMC became Mia's dad's boss. It was a position Mia's dad wanted so there is bitterness there and Alex is the villain in Mia's household.
Mia and Alex then keep meeting involuntarily, whether its a blind date, company picnic etc. Their best friends are also dating so its inevitable that they will be seeing each other.
The chemistry between Alex and Mia was great. I really enjoyed their tension and angst up until about Josie's party on the boat. My eyes rolled too far back when they keep pushing each other away because they don't want to hurt Mia's dads feelings. This was a very low stakes type of rom com, it was not the end of the world at all and hardly any reason for them to deny their attraction.
Overall it was fun and steamy, I did enjoy the characters a lot, but the overall premise was a little flat for me.

YESSSSSSSSSS EVERYONE SAY THANK YOU LIVY HART!!!!!!!
This was incredible and 100000% my favorite Livy Hart book. ALEX CONROY LEGENDARY LOVE INTEREST STATUS. I LOVE THAT MAN. This was laugh out loud funny and tooth-achingly sweet and perfectly steamy and UGH. Greatness.
Alex and Mia were so much fun. I loved every moment—from their brutally awkward first date to their gritted-teeth chance encounters until they finally started to warm up to each other. They were so sweet together. Alex had me in the palm of his hand, he is SUCH a great guy and it was so nice to see him be so open and in love with Mia. WHERE’S MY ALEX CONROY
I normally wouldn’t be into the “dating my dad’s boss” trope but I took a chance since it was Livy and I’ve enjoyed her previous books and I’m SO GLAD. I loved how that conflict was handled both between Alex & Mia and Mia & her dad. LET’S ALLLLLLL CHEER FOR NO THIRD ACT BREAKUP WAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, so much fun! I will definitely be buying a copy of this one.

Some Kind of Blunderful is a cute romcom with characters that you can’t help but fall in extreme like with.
Mia was left at the altar by her high school sweetheart and has spent the last year and a half healing and learning how to be on her own and do things herself. Alex has been on his own since he was a kid and has taken his career by storm with his dedication and drive to be on the top. Mia left swipes on Alex and finds herself in a food truck courtyard on a date that she feels was a bust. A week or so later Mia winds up on a double date with her best friend and her new boyfriend who brought none other than Alex for Mia. What a small world. To make it even smaller, not long after this double non date, Mia finds out that Alex is the new boss that her dad has been complaining about for weeks. These two keep finding themselves in situations together, whether or not they want to be.
We’re taken on a journey with Mia and Alex and a cast of support characters that add so much to the story. We’ve got lots of tropes with the meet cute, small town, sort of enemies to lovers and forbidden romance. There’s a lot of dating blunders, a sweet love story and of course the HEA. Definitely give this book a read if you like a classic romcom!
I received an advance reader copy and am leaving my review voluntarily.

Livy Hart's books just keep getting better and better and I have seriously loved her other two romance books so much. But something about this one just hit so hard. Mia and Alex were everything. I loved how they kept "randomly" being forced together and of course the fact that their best friends were also seeing each other. I loved the feeling of family in this book and how close Mia was with her dad and sisters. The banter was FANTASTIC and the tension and slow burn vibe between Alex and Mia was seriously next level. Also the spice was fun as hell. Alex definitely got a little creative and I was swooning for him instantly. This story was heartfelt with classic Livy humor and I was hooked so quick. I also loved all the little pop culture references she threw in there especially about the dating world. I can't say enough good things about this one and if I wasn't a full Livy stan before, I would be now! Thank you to Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC to read and review!

Mia Madden is ready to give up dating all together after a disastrous date with Alex Conroy where he was 30 minutes late and overheard her dissing his profile on the phone with her friend. Mia’s nightmare continues when Alex turns out to be her dad’s new hotshot corporate boss, ready to revitalize the company her dad has dedicated his life to at any cost. To add insult to injury, Alex’s best friend has recently fallen in love with Mia’s best friend. These two reluctant acquaintances seem to be on a crash course to each other that cannot be avoided no matter how hard they try.
Livy Hart has done it again! This is the second of her titles I’ve read and it’s safe to say she’s a new auto read for me! Her banter is absolutely next level, both funny and biting without ever being mean. The chemistry between Mia and Alex sizzles off the page right from their very first “blunderful” meeting, and it only grows as they continue running into each other. By the time they finally succumb to the tension, it’s a palpable relief for the reader as well 😅
I loved Alex so much. His vulnerability with Mia and doing very in his power to show her how he felt with his actions was completely swoon-worthy. My heart ached for him as Mia sorted through her own complicated feelings.
I’m a total sucker for a pun in a title as well, and Some Kind of Blunderful is an A+ pun. It doesn’t hurt that it immediately calls to mind one of the greatest friends to lovers films of all time, Some Kind of Wonderful (1987). I also highly recommend reading the acknowledgments at the end, because they’re also lovely!
You must read this one if you love: 😈enemies at first sight 🥰adorable preschool teacher meets suit wearing corporate boss🤓 The Office 🍷 purse wine 🌻 sunflowers 🧩 escape room double dates 💋 Kiss Cam gone wrong 🔥 open door/open hot tub intimate moments 🏡 grand gestures to prove his love 🥹 finding everything in each other 💍 Kiss Cam gone right
Thank you to @netgalley and @entangled_publishing for the advanced copy to read and review. All opinions are my own!

Another great book from the author(I have read her latest release by an ARC from Netgalley before) altough I couldn't get the same involvement as the previous one. But don't get me wrong. The narrative is well built, the characters were belivable and so on. But I think I wasn't in the vibe to read it for now. However I could enjoy the book as much as was possible.

Another amazing book by Livy Hart! This was a cute and funny romcom/forbidden love. I loved the steam and tension between Mia and Alex. This book had me sucked in from the first chapter and I had an impossible time putting it down! Definitely worth the read.

ARC review
I’m not sure what I love more… A good romcom or forbidden love. THANKFULLY I got the best of both worlds. I laughed, I was stressed, I had second hand embarrassment and I LOVE a book that makes me feel all of the things.
Mia Madden is a quirky, family oriented, and creative preschool teacher. Having been left at the alter has her on guard and it doesn’t help that her dad is her fiercest protector after picking up the pieces that her ex left behind.
Alex Conroy is an ambitious, resilient, and somewhat lonely guy who just beat out Mia’s dad for the big promotion he wanted. Never one for relationships, Mia takes him completely off guard.
These two forces of nature are desperate to avoid each other but the universe loves to throw them back together time and time again. You get to enjoy both of their humorous mental commentary in duel POV.
This was an amazing read! The writing was smooth and everything flowed together really well. I was sucked into their story on page one (2nd hand embarrassment got me y’all) and kept interested until it was over… And then I was DYING for more.
Overall, I REALLY enjoyed this book!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Livy is a queen when it comes to romcoms - there were so many clever, laugh out loud moments, it was SO steamy, and the tension was perfect.
I absolutely lived for the dynamic with Mia & Alex. From their first date disaster (got off on the wrong foot, then Alex found out who Mia was and ended the night very quickly) to them being forced together in the most awkwardly comical scenarios, the two had so much chemistry. The banter was absolutely top tier, as usual. I highlighted so much in that book - “let me die in peace, woman” has to be a favorite. This was a slow-ish burn with palpable tension…let me tell you, my stomach was in KNOTS with these two.
Mia was an absolute gem. She was the most loyal person, almost to a fault, sticking up for her dad no matter what. Coming off her awful breakup, she was a bit guarded and took some time to let Alex in. I loved how she came to terms with her feeling for Alex and how she came into her own without fearing what her dad would think.
Alex is a new top book boyfriend for me. Hotshot business man with the SOFTEST heart. He was funny and sweet and attentive, and just didn’t know how to let people love him. He’d never had anyone in his corner, let alone an entire big family like Mia’s. I loved his journey to becoming part of someone’s life and starting to put down roots. And then he got Andi and I melted into a straight up puddle.
And when I tell you the spice was SPICY - I was unprepared. It was so natural and perfect and hot. All to say, you won’t look at hot tub jets the same ever again.
Anything Livy writes, instant yes.

SOME KIND OF BLUNDERFUL is fun, entertaining and oh so sweet. Mia and Alex's connection is undeniable, and they keep finding themselves in front of each other despite all the obstacles preventing them from discovering the potential between them. I so enjoyed Mia and Alex's conversations and their humor with one another. It felt so real which can be hard to come across for rom-coms, as they can tend to come across cheesy. The author always has a nice balance of humor, spice, and authenticity in her stories and writing.
Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest review.

I was lucky enough to have been given an ARC of Livy Harts book Some Kind of Blunderful and it was great! It had a wonderful storyline and the main characters were very likeable and relateable. I loved that the perspectives changed between characters with each chapter and allowed me to see both perspectives of the story. This was an easy and lighthearted read that I would definitely reccomend to others.

I sped through SOME KIND OF BLUNDERFUL. It's a fun mishap dating story. One that is also threaded with layers of our main character, Mia, trying her best to not disappoint her father.
Oh, what does her love-life have to do with her father, you ask? His boss (the one he hates) is Mia's love interest.
Mia's father is aging (honestly, he's not THAT old). He's finding himself at a crossroads in today's salesman world. Technology is getting the best of him and that stinkin' new boss is whittling away Mia's dad's career.
Mia can't help herself though and neither can Alex. They have SIZZLING chemistry and love will do it's best to win!
I will add if Mia were in her 30s, not 24 as she is in the story, the plot would never work. She listens far too much to what her dad thinks about all of her boyfriends and I just don't see this story working with an older main character.
I can't wait for Livy's next book.
Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for an e-copy of SOME KIND OF BLUNDERFUL to review.
I rate SOME KIND OF BLUNDERFUL four out of five stars.

This is just fabulous! It’s warm and funny and caring and poignant and just the most delicious swoony romcom!
Alex and Mia meet on a dating app but in their small town, they keep crossing paths, not least because Alex is Mia's dad's boss.
It feels a bit workplace romcom if anything, but the jam is how seemingly cocky Alex unfolds to be a rather more complicated character who rings the changes as he falls for Mia. Mia in turn, is brave enough to look for a bigger life and to love again after a very messy breakup. They are just fabulous together, sassy and steamy, with lovely banter. Turns out Mia is quite adventurous which absolutely does it for Alex ;) and even with her family complications there is soooooooo much chemistry between them. Livy Hart does pining like nobody does pining - this is absolute gold.
It’s fresh and light, but not fluffy, side characters are fully drawn, especially Richard - who is the bomb! Beautifully written, I adored this. Five stars.
Thank you so much Netgalley and Entangled for the ARC.

This story is so relatable and incredible.
It made me feel seen as a person living in a society where dating app is the main way to go to date and find someone.
The horror, disappointment, and resignation of dating apps are topics that have been lamenting amongst my group of friends all the time.
However how meet-angst Mia and Alex are, their continue force proximity and attraction have been such a joy to watch. To see two individuals so vastly different find a common value in love and really try to make their relationship work.
In this book, Mia causes the issue when Alex tries to propose but her gesture of faith and groveling was so powerful. I love the message she conveyed to show Alex she loved him.
There were many many moments in this book that I loved. The family moments. The friendship moments. The endearing love and affection. And ultimately the quote of affirmation that Mia says “ I am a ten. My presence is a gift. I am enough” just resonance with me. I’m going to make this my mantra too!
Definitely a book I would recommend
