Mary Kubica is one of the best thriller writers I have come across. I loved her story Local Woman Missing and Just the Nicest Couple. I knew I had to read She's Not Sorry as soon as I heard about it. Yet, again Kubica did not disappoint.

She's Not Sorry is a twisty psychological thriller that follows Meghan, single mom and ICU nurse. I was intrigued right away because I can relate to many of her struggles as a single mom. Kubica drew us in right away with the story of this patient in a coma and you wanting to know what happened to her. I really enjoyed the side characters in this story and their little mini-stories woven in. Kubica writes really deep characters with a lot of backstory, but written in a way that isn't overly wordy or cumbersome to read.

Kubica's ability to write twists and turns and shocking discoveries is next-level. I have never found an author that can truly throw me a curveball the way she can. I thought I knew what was happening as the book progressed and then I was completely blindsided when the truth came out. I literally gasped out loud when I read what was actually happening. I was able to guess earlier on who I thought was responsible for some things in the book, but it was no where near what I was thinking and I will never get over how good Kubica can always surprise me at the end of her novels.

If you love really twisty, psychological thrillers, then She's Not Sorry is definitely one you have to pick up. You will not guess the shocking revelations and they will keep you flipping the page as fast as you can! Mary Kubica has delivered another absolute must read!

She’s Not Sorry is a very, very, very slow burn thriller. The first half is more or less tension when the MC is walking home most days from work, knowing she may be unsafe. The opening chapter teases something significant happening, which is what kept me reading.

I almost gave up on this one but then SO MUCH HAPPENS in the second half. I’m torn on my rating because the twists in the second part were entertaining but man was it a long journey through the first half to get there.

Not a dull moment. Mary Kubica did a superb job of weaving different timelines. Everyone is a suspect. It had me thinking, “Maybe it is this person, no. it can’t be,” the major plot twist had me saying, “Wait, what?!”. This is a binge-able book; you will want to finish it in one sit. One thing that prevented me from giving the book five stars was the ending; the only predictable part that ended up happening added a little too much and ruined the book for me.

Thank you #NetGalley #HarlequinTradePublishing #MaryKubica #She'sNotSorry for the electronic copy.

This was a much slower burn than I'm used to, but once things started picking up - they PICKED UP! I really like how the book was written and all of the twists. I did guess one of them, but the book was still fantastic. Definitely recommend!

This was an amazing read. I lost track of time and could not put this book down. I was kept guessing on what was going on during most of the book.

This was my first read by Kubica and there was a lot I enjoyed about it. There were great moments of suspense and Kubica did a great job of building the sense of fear most all women have had walking alone at night and feeling vulnerable. Our main character is a nurse who is also a newly divorced mom of a teenage girl living in Chicago. She gets caught up in protecting an old high school friend from an abusive husband while also caring for a patient at work whose case becomes more and more complicated.

While I enjoyed the suspense and the main twist of the story, there were things that kept me from feeling fully immersed. Mainly, the actions of the main character are often hard to believe and seem to just serve the plot, and by they there are multiple plot points that make the story too busy. I’m all for great action and multiple plots coming together, but for me this one didn’t quite hold together. Even so, If you like thrillers with plot twists and some ambiguity at the end, this is an entertaining and bingeable read.

Another great novel by Mary Kubica. It starts off as a little bit of a slow burn but that doesn't mean it didn't keep my attention. The book is full of lots of twists and turns- some of which I guessed at least partially. There is a lot of suspense in the book and there are a few story lines going on that make you wonder what the connection is. Thank you to NetGalley and the the Publisher for an ARC.

Thanks to the publisher for the gifted e-copy.

She's Not Sorry is a twisty story about an ICU nurse single mom that is caring for a patient that jumped off a bridge in a. suicide attempt.

The more details that come out during this fairly slow burn, the twistier it gets, until about 3/4 through the book when you'll be like HOLY CRAP!!

The problem I had is that it had so many twists, it got a big out of control. There was one sub plot that had me rolling my eyes by the end of the book, and it was just too much. Other than that, I think it would have been 4 stars.

I need to check out her back list, as I think she's a talented writer. I think a lot of people will enjoy this one - it's a slow burn, but it's a fast read that will keep you guessing.

This was an interesting thriller. I went in with lower expectations and was pleasantly surprised. There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me on my toes. If you are looking to be shocked I would recommend.

I love @marykubica and She’s Not Sorry was no exception. I loved the twists and turns in this one. So fun and enjoyable.

I did not figure this out so I had some great surprises. The characters were really interesting. I wouldn’t want to be friends with these people but reading about them was great! 😂

This is one I’d recommend adding to your list.

Mary Kubica is one of my favorite writers and has been since I read her debut novel, The Good Girl, when it first published. I’ve read every book she’s written and will continue to do so. My two favorites so far have been The Good Girl and Local Woman Missing which were page-turners. I was really hoping the same for She’s Not Sorry after seeing the raves on social media, but I didn’t love it as much as others did. I’m not someone who tries to be a detective while I’m reading a thriller, but I guessed one of the twists early in the book. I felt there were a lot of descriptions that could’ve been cut down (walking down the street). I’m hoping Mary’s next one hits it out of the ballpark like Local Woman Missing did.

Thank you to Park Row and HTP for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Such a twisty novel about the choices we make and what we have to live with because of those choices sometimes.

What worked for me:
- The characters were not likable for me but they were interesting enough that I was invested in what happened to them.
- 'enough intrigue to keep me reading and wanting to know what happened previously and what was going to happen
- fast-moving plot points
- kept me guessing

What didn't work for me:
- There were two different plot points (the story of the woman in the ICU and how she got there and the story of the man who was attaching women in the city) and it could have been two different books. I didn't feel it was necessary and it made it feel disconnected to me.

Meghan is a nurse who finds herself somehow involved with a patient that was pushed from a bridge. All the while dealing with a teenage girl and a guy who is out there attacking females not to mention an old friend came back out of no where wanting to know a lot about Meghan.

Thank you NetGalley and Ms. Kubica for giving me the opportunity to review "She's Not Sorry." This is the first time that I have read a book by Ms. Kubica. "She's Not Sorry" is a good choice for fans of thrillers. The book hooks you in and makes it hard to put down. There was some repetitive themes like the main character's view of the world as a dangerous place. Having finished the novel,I understand why Ms. Kubica did this, but it can be a bit of a put off for the reader in the first half of the book. Overall, I would recommend this book for readers who like quick thrillers.

This one kept me guessing! It got really good after the first 100 pages - I also love when there is a twist that takes place before the last 75% = just keeps you on your toes. I did enjoy it but feel it will be a bit forgetful.

In the end I ended up enjoying the book the first 3/4ths of it were very slow moving for me. I didn't find myself wanting to pick it back up but, once I hit the last 1/4th of the book it was really entertaining. Some twists I saw coming and some I didn't.

Don't know if I loved the hospital aspect of it but still overall enjoyed the story.

This was my first Mary Kubica read, but I picked it up because I'd heard such good things about Local Woman Missing. I found She's Not Sorry to be a decent read, but it wasn't one that kept me turning the pages. The first section of the book dragged a bit, and more in a "slow to get started" way rather than a "slow burn" way. It picked up in the second half, and I enjoyed the pacing and the twists after that. All in all, an okay read, but not a thriller I'll be recommending highly to others.

📖My Thoughts📖

Psychological Thrillers. Just what the doctor ordered! Ok, well maybe not, but they’re one of my favorite genres and I haven’t read any in a while, so it was long overdue, and it definitely satisfied my needs! First of all, I was really impressed with the authors knowledge and descriptions/explanations with medical terminology. The story was told through Meghan, the main characters perspective and kept a fairly balanced pace. My favorite part? It’s always the twists that just seem to be my jam. They just drop out of nowhere sometimes and if done the right way, they leave you speechless with your jaw on the floor. There were definitely some of those in this book! There was a lot going on in this book, but for the most part it all seemed to come together. I’m still unsure and how I feel about her ex-husband. He’s a tough nut to crack! So here it is in a nutshell. I really enjoyed this book, right down to the last sentence. It definitely had some “edge of your seat” moments, with lots of twists sprinkled throughout the book. There were a lot of elements situations going on and I feel like it still would have been just as good had a few of the smaller situations been omitted from the book. Nonetheless, I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone that’s into thrillers.
Thank you Netgalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing and Mary Kubica for the opportunity to read and review this creepy yet satisfying psychological thriller. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for more books by this author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Meghan is a single mom who tries to find balance between her daughter and being a nurse. One day she’s gets a patient who has traumatic brain injury and is now in a coma. Apparently the patient, Caitlin, jumped off a bridge twenty feet over train tracks. But as Meghan takes care of her, she starts to wonder what really happened. Did she really jump or was she pushed. Meghan tries her best to stay distant and not get overly attached, but the mom in her feels like this could have been her own child, and so she’s setting herself up for a dangerous find.

Meghan has had it tough. Getting divorced and having a teenage daughter, Sienna, who isn’t happy with the outcome. On top of that she’s a nurse who has long difficult shifts. And tough cases, like Caitlin’s. She’s dedicated herself to Caitlin’s care. Being vulnerable and trying to save a child who isn’t hers put her in hot water… which makes Meghan such a powerful character of a mom.

There was a lot of twists and I really didn’t see the ending coming, which makes for the best book. Mary Kubic is one of those authors I love to purge. She’s unique at storytelling and always has the story set up to make you say “wow.” It definitely had throat constricting moments where I was holding my breath desperate to know the answers.
