She’s not sorry is a classic Kubrick thriller (meant as a compliment). Meghan is a divorced single-mother working as an icu nurse. One of her patients is a young woman who jumped from a bridge and is in a coma and Meghan seems particularly drawn to her and to her parents. Was this young woman a victim of a madman who has been terrorizing the women of the city? Meghan’s long-lost high school friend reappears in Meghan’s life as well, fleeing an abusive husband and it becomes clear that there is a connection between all of these threads. What is the connection is what drives the plot forward and kubica incorporates many twists along the way I did not expect. A fun, fast-paced thriller that I couldn’t put down! Recommended for fans of thrillers, psychological suspense, and legions of kubicas fans!

Thanks to the publisher for providing the arc via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book by Mary Kubica that I have read, but it will probably not be the last. She's Not Sorry was a good story with a few surprises. There were some things in the story that I suspecgted or was even able to figure out before they were revealed, but it mostly kept me guessing,

Be forwarned that, while I will try to keep the following vague so as not to give anything away, the following part of this review may be a bit of a spoiler. Readers who want to be surprised may want to stop reading here....

There were a few things about the story and/or the writing that bothered me somewhat. First, one of the big surprise twists of the book made me realize that the story was not being told in real time. It turns out that the time frame of the story was not linear, as it seemed to have been presented, but rather jumping back and forth between things that had already happened and the present. This was not clear to me while I was reading and, as a result, one of the big bombshell revelations of the book completely took me by surprise. In addition, I am strugging with a particular plot point that I'm not sure I buy. Something that Meghan does seems really unlikely to me. I'll try not to give it away, but I'm just having trouble believing that Meghan would have ever taken that action, even if she was panicked.

Overall, I did enjoy this book and found it to be a good suspenseful read. But these 2 flaws ended up lowering my rating of the book. Still I do think I'll try a few more books by this author.

There’s a lot going on in this book, with multiple story lines that all become interwoven in the end. I thought the pacing was good. I thought the writing style was very atmospheric. I
definitely felt the creepy, dreadful vibes!
While I did enjoy reading this book, I only gave it 3 ⭐️ because I was able to guess one of the twists pretty early on. I also felt like the storyline with the parents was left as kind of an afterthought for as much of a presence they had through most of the book, and for as much effort the author put in to really describing their character as individual people. They just kind of disappeared.
Special thanks to NetGalley, Mary Kubrick, and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read/review an ARC of this book!

Four stars for She's Not Sorry! There were a handful of twists in this book that I didn't see coming. Love when that happens! Took me awhile to get into this one, but about halfway through the story got crazy (in a good way!).
She's Not Sorry is a face-paced thriller that doesn't stop. Mary Kubica weaves the story together in a way that leaves you wondering what's going to happen next.

Thanks NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC!

I am a huge fan of Mary Kubica and so I was so excited to get the opportunity to read She's Not Sorry. This book did not disappoint, I enjoyed the pace of the book, and the way that she slowly brought you into what was going on with each character. Sometimes I found my self so caught up in one aspect of the story that I kind of forgot what else was going on and how it relayed to the plot.

Meghan who is an ICU nurse is juggling a teen and a stressful career. One day a woman arrives at the hospital in a coma after jumping off a local bridge. Although Megan tries to keep her distance, she finds herself roped into this patients life when the family shares some disturbing information about her patient. Soon she find herself caught up in a secret that may put her and her daughter in danger.

This book was right up my alley, with so many different things going on that kept me guessing. The ending left my head spinning, and I couldn't help but wonder what I would do if I found myself in similar circumstances. Great read, Mary Kubica does it again!

She's Not Sorry is an amazing 5 star read! It is so twisty and took me a while to wrap my head around it. I couldn't get enough of the story and was in shock several times throughout! As an anxious person myself, I could feel Meghan Miller's anxiety about her daughter and the man attacking women at night. There are many creepy vibes & events throughout the book that left goosebumps on my skin.

I could NOT guess the ending and my jaw dropped with the big twist. Local Woman Missing is my favorite by Mary Kubica but this one is coming very close!!! Read this book for an intense, chilling, and shocking ride of a story.

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy.

Thank you to NetGalley, Mary Kubica & HTP/Park Row for a digital ARC of She's Not Sorry in exchange for an honest review.

I adore Mary Kubica & was thrilled to review this title, especially since my good friend, Holly Wheelehan had part of her review actually added to the published copy of the book! That was so exciting!

With that said, I did not like this one. Again, I LOVE Kubica & know what she is capable of. This one just fell short for me.

I felt like I was reading two different story ideas that got meshed into one & it just didn't work. I think the Caitlin story could have been one book and the rapist story could have been one book. Those two storylines never married together. One or the other could have been left out and the other would have stood on its own. Further, it was one of the most predictable books I've ever read. I had it all figured out VERY early on. I was hoping there'd by some crazy twist or big unexpected reveal, but nope. It all turned out just as expected.

I am rating this down the middle with 3 Stars because Kubica's writing is always impeccable & manages to engage me, so I wasn't trudging along just waiting for it to be over & it definitely was not DNF material. I just didn't love it as much as some others. In my little influencer friend group of four, two absolutely loved it & myself & another felt the same way about it. So, I think this one is going to be a 50/50 on loving it or not loving it.

I do look forward to Kubica's next book. This certainly has not turned me off to her work.

This was my first read of Mary Kubica and it definitely won’t be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this journey and had to pick my jaw up from the floor (and reach out to a reading bestie) and just couldn’t wait to see how it all played out. Great read!

☁️ Thoughts:
Man. Oh. Man. If you haven’t pre-ordered this binge-worthy thriller or made arrangements to grab this from your local bookstore on pub day, I recommend you do so now!!! I haven’t been this engrossed in a novel in quite some time. I FLEW through this action-packed story & found myself audibly gasping multiple times, especially at the conclusion of part one, & after the first paragraph of part 2. Holy moly. There was seemingly SO much going on in this thriller that you may feel like you have whiplash/your head is spinning/jumbled at times, but I promiseeee you it all comes together, pretty darn seamlessly!!! Here & there, I did find myself wondering “how do these people keep running into each other in this busy city with that many people?!” but I was able to push that thought aside, because this plot was pretty genius. I am a Mary Kubica fan in general, but this one MAY very well be my new favorite?! Or at least tied with Local Woman Missing (also a 4.5 star)! I did guess one of the twists, but there were SO many, that the predictably of one of them didn’t knock any points off my rating. This was just fabulous. I had to make sure to take notes when I finished to always remember this masterful web - big applause to you, @marykubica!!! This one is SURE to be a hit!

Highly recommend! 💜

I really liked it! This book has a bunch of subplots and sketchy characters. You feel the main characters paranoia. There’s quite a bit of misdirection. The lead character is a nurse and that role feels well researched with a number of details that ring true. I find kubica’s style to be somewhere between the Lisa jewell/lucey foley level and the Darby Kane level. Implausible but well fleshed out. Would recommend.

This is one twisted tale and I'm not sure where to start it's a complicated book. First, you get one accident that lands a person in the hospital but is she the victim or instigator. Then you move on the another mystery of someone attacking women in the city and last but not least a friend in need of help. There are crazy things happening in Meghan's life but she is trying hard to raise her daughter while also working as a nurse in the ICU department at the hospital. This all sounds so crazy and the author only gives you bits and pieces of all the mysteries going on around Meghan. However, as the book gets closer to the ending all the pieces of the mysteries start to come together and you can now see the huge BIG picture. I love this book and it ability to keep me guessing until the very end! Can't wait to read more by Mary Kubica.

Mary Cubic does it again with a twist so epic there's no way to see it coming. I know I say this every time she has a new release, but this is my new favorite. Meghan is a realistic, believable character, the girl next door, but, when she's put into a situation beyond her control, what happens next blew my mind Just when you think you can trust a character in She's Not Sorry, you release really no one in this one is telling the truth. If I could give it more than five stars, I would.

This book is so incredibly twisted. It’s like a pretzel of grifting, stolen identity, assault, scams, revenge, and murder, all revolving around a Chicago-based critical care nurse named Meghan Miller. I won’t even try to write a synopsis since it’s impossible to do without spoilers. Suffice it to say, it’s a non-stop adrenaline rush, especially all of the times Meghan walks home from work in the dark, knowing there’s a masked man who has been assaulting, robbing, and raping women. Add to that the fact that she and her 16-year-old daughter are living in an apartment with a door that doesn’t properly latch, and you’re just waiting for the worst.

Mystery/thrillers aren’t a genre I usually read, but I chose this for a reading challenge based on a Facebook recommendation, and I’m not sorry. It is absolutely riveting, and I really appreciate it as a window into the way people’s minds work: the lengths people will go to protect themselves and their loved ones, the damage and repercussions of childhood abuse, and people who are just natural-born sociopaths. Highly recommended!

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from Park Row through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

I have honestly loved every single one of Mary‘s books, and this one is no different. As a warning, this book might be a bit scary for someone who doesn’t love a thriller. I felt like it was a little bit more chilling than some of her other books. I liked both of the storylines, but I felt like in the end I wanted them to weave together more cohesively it almost felt like two separate stories were happening, but maybe that was the intent. Overall, it was a great book, definitely kept me guessing all the way through.

was so excited to get an arc approved for this on NetGalley just before publication day that I jumped on it right away .

The prologue definitely sucked you in but I found Part 1 to be a drawn out and quite repetitive - at times I felt myself just skimming an really not missing anything of importance . Part 2 also started off with a bang but I felt like it was rushed and there were a lot of loose ends for my liking 🤷🏼‍♀️

SHE'S NOT SORRY by Mary Kubica was another suspenseful read that had me making 😲😳😏 faces!

I will say that this story started out with what felt like a lot going on. Megan is a nurse who is balancing a relatively new divorce and parenting a teen daughter while working as an ICU nurse. It did take a while to build this story, but it is all necessary. As Megan is caring for a woman who seems to have jumped from a bridge and is clinging to life, the other parts of her world are being revealed in layers. To add another point of unease, a crime spree is occurring targeting women at home alone, and she has to return to have a lump checked. While all this felt a bit much at times, it also felt like life: when it rains, it pours.

The way it all came together was a really fun twist method. One of the surprises I had guessed, but it didn't take away any of the fun for me. I still wanted to see the how and why! I really enjoyed all the pieces of this puzzle. I read through this one pretty quickly, and definitely recommend it to suspense fans who can handle a good, slow burn!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Thank you to @htpbooks & @netgalley for sharing this fantastic psychological thriller! It is publishing on April 2nd, so you don't have to wait!

I read this ebook and listened simultaneously to the audiobook (via @hoopladigital). I enjoy diving into both experiences, especially with this book!

This is my first Mary Kubica read and WOW, it did not disappoint!! I was already all into the book and then the end of Part 1 happened, and it was a jaw dropping twist!!

Meghan is an ICU nurse, a single mom to a teenage daughter, as well as newly divorced. She gets a new coma patient in the ICU named Caitlin, who jumped from a bridge and has a brain injury. There’s news that Caitlin may not have jumped, but was pushed. Meghan tries to stay detached from her patients, but she can’t help but be drawn in, which may jeopardize her and her daughter’s safety.

I loved all the different dynamics that Kubica wove into this story. There were various family dynamics happening in the story from Meghan being a single mom to a teenager, to the mother of the ICU coma patient and her relationship with her daughter.

I was suspicious about a certain character in the book and I think Kubica had some small details foreshadowing what would happen just very discreetly written into the story and I loved that.

There were also questions that this story brings to mind such as, what drives a person to do horrible things to another person and why? And how well do we really know the people we are around?

If you want a fast paced thriller, with unexpected twists and turns, look no further! This is it, read it now!!
