She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica has a twisty story line that will make it hard to figure out what's going on. The conclusion leaves readers with loose ends that may lead to a follow up book.

A twisty thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end! If you’re looking for a quick suspenseful read look no further.
Meghan, an ICU nurse, tends to a patient, Cailtlin, who jumped from a bridge. But when a witness states otherwise, everything is questioned. Thrown into the midst of the investigation, Meghan tries to figure out what really happened to Caitlin. As she gets closer to the truth, she fears that she may become the victim.
I finished this book in less than a day, I was so hooked and needed to know how it ended. A really great suspenseful thriller!

I had read another book by this author for a book club. Enjoyed it very much. So when I saw she was having another book being published and NetGalley had it. I decided let’s try her again and I am glad I did.
At first it seems to be a nice mystery of a nurse taking care of a possible suicide until… It is that until that keeps going and going and going, an amazing progression from unbelievable to totally shock.
I loved this book and could not put it down.

Did I finish this thriller in a day? Yes, yes I did. Did Mary Kubica write another amazing thriller? Yes, yes she did. The amount of times my jaw dropped and I slapped my hand over my mouth while reading this is insane! This was an INCREDIBLE thriller with so many different twists and turns, I immediately enthralled from beginning to end.
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for an advanced readers copy of this amazing book!!

3.5 stars, rounded up.
Hmmm.... this one has a nonlinear timeline, but I didn't know it until the end. So when I say the timing was weird, that's why. I don't think I missed anything, but I'd have to read it again to see.
This is a solidly creepy thriller, and I'd expect nothing less from Mary Kubica. There was quite a bit of filler, though, with too much introspection and repetition. I was kept on edge and kind of had an inkling about one of the characters, but the end jumps out and says "BOO". The characters are real and reliably themselves all the way through. You're introduced to a lot of people but it isn't an overwhelming amount. Enough that you're wondering who done it until you get to the end. I zoomed through this one.
Very good title for this book.
Also? I have no desire to ever be in Chicago in winter. Brrrr.

This is exactly what you expect from Kubica, so if you have enjoyed her other books, you’ll like this one too! Satisfying plot, good misdirection, a very enjoyable read! Some typos that I am sure will get cleaned up soon, but not bad enough to affect clarity.

She’s Not Sorry was an engaging, heart-pounding quick psychological thriller. There were many twists and turns, building suspense, and little predictability. The story follows Meghan, an ICU nurse and single mom, who is adjusting to her new life as a divorcee. The story takes a turn when a new patient is admitted to the ICU after falling from a bridge. The more Meghan learns, the more complex the story gets.

Kubica’s latest is quite the action packed and suspense filled thriller that started with one huge BANG, and this is what kept me reading. Plus the tense atmosphere throughout the whole book was fantastic!
I will say that the story as a whole is one you’re gonna have to suspend belief for, and I did guess one of the twists, but there were quite a few that I didn’t.

Thank you to @netGalley, @htpbooks, @parkrowbooks, @htp_hive, @marykubica and @bookishfirst for my #gifted copy!
Meghan is an ICU nurse, new divorcee and mother who is devoted to her work and her daughter. Her new patient is Caitlin, a young woman who attempted suicide by jumping of a bridge. Later, it is found out that she was pushed. As Meghan spends the next weeks taking care of her critical patient, she takes diligence in protecting her daughter and herself from an unknown criminal attacking women in the city. She also starts getting threatening notes left in her mailbox.
Everyone has secrets, some deadly, some could ruin lives, and some can even lead to murder. What secrets are Meghan hding? What about Caitlin and her own family? Her daughter?
Page-turning, UNPUTDOWNABLE, very TWISTY and suspenseful thriller! This thriller held my attention from start to finish and I did not see what was coming until the very end! LOVED this GRIPPING read!

If you are a lover of suspense books, this book is one for you. Mary Kubica keeps you on the edge of your seat guessing how the multiple story lines with come together, how everything is connected and what is really going on throughout the book. This book had be hooked from very early on which I don’t often get with this genre. I will say there are a few loose ends that don’t get tied up completed and because of that I give this book 4/5 stars.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for a digital advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

So many twists and turns in this one that I didn’t see coming! The characters really pull you in. I went back and reread some parts after I finished it to see the clues I missed!
Highly recommend!

...That's it?
I started this story with mixed feelings, it was too slow and I did not want to pick up this book. As the pages kept flying by, I became entrapped within the plot and was being led along by the author's good writing. When we are nearing the plot twist though, within 5 pages of foreshadowing I figured out ONE of the twists and so I was pretty proud of myself for doing so but I was also disappointed that she was not able to get me.BOY WAS I WRONG THO, after that twist she softly dropped another one that had my jaw on the FLOOR. How could I have been reading it for so long and still not make the connection.....
Anyways, that leads into what I did like of the story, the characters were all quite fleshed out (as fleshed out you can make people that need to have secrets). I was excited to see what would happen so that the main character would have the upper hand in the end. I also liked not having to think and just be in their scheming world for a bit. For most of the story I thought they were in New York but they were actually in Chicago so that gave me whiplash 😭. By the time I had finished the book I was left with a feeling of "is that it?". I guess I was expecting more action or a bigger twist to happen but NO we like ran a mile and then gave up on the marathon. In conclusion, the story was not horrible but I wanted more from the thriller of it.
Thank You Netgalley for granting me access to an e-arc copy of this book<3
Actual Rating:3.25 stars

This was an entertaining read. I have only read one other book by Mary Kubica but it was similar to this one in the case that it was fast-paced, there were multiple characters and subplots, and a random twist at the end. There were 2 “big” twists in this novel. I enjoyed the first twist a lot, even though it played with the “unreliable narrator” trope which I am not always a fan of, but I think Kubica did it well. The second twist I did not very much like as it just seemed off the wall. There were too many subplots thrown into the story to make it all cohesive, especially at the end. But still, with that being said, I was intrigued the whole time and never felt bored reading the novel. I think that says something about a book.
Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for this free ARC.

Local woman missing was in my top five favorite books I read last year. It seems this one may be in my top five for this year. I never am able to guess the ending in her books. The twist always gets me. This book was no different. An amazing book and I intend to read more of hers.

Meghan Michaels is a divorced mom of a sixteen year old, navigating the waters between daughter and ex-husband. She has primary custody of their daughter, Sienna.. These can be rocky times, being a hard working dedicated ICU nurse, mom, maid, etc. then her life gets even busier and more complicated when she attends a support group and meets an old classmate.
Why the support group? You see her divorce has truly effected her self esteem, along with the extra hours she puts in to provide for herself and Sienna, supplementing the child support check and for this reason Sienna is home alone much if the time, You see the divorce was Meghan’s choice, another reason she’s incurred an incredible amount of guilt. She left Ben because she felt she and Sienna deserved better than what her emotionally unavailable ex-husband, Ben, was providing, particularly when it came to Sienna. They had to move them out of their comfortable condo, and into a smaller apartment so she'd be comfortable financially.
The apartment is nice enough, but the new place isn’t in the greatest neighborhood, where vacant buildings sit and large parking lots surround their apartment building. Then there’s the deafening rumble of the L running directly beside their flat, every hour of every day. Sienna is typical of her teen age, moody, sullen at times argumentative with her mom, all compounded by being a split family. Yep, life is tough, but it can get way more complicated and it does.
At work, Meghan is assigned as the primary care nurse for a young woman, named Caitlin, who was brought into her unit in a coma, suffering traumatic brain injury, after allegedly jumping from a raised pedestrian walkway. It’s amazing the girl survived the fall and it’s unlikely she will ever be normal again. Caitlin is holding on to life however little her survival chances. Even though she has been trained not to, Meghan becomes emotionally involved in the case, spending a lot of time with Caitlin's parents, the Becketts. She finds Caitlin consuming her mind and her life.
One day the police arrive on the unit stating that a new witness has come forward, leading them to suspect that Caitlin was in an altercation on the bridge just prior to her fall. Does that mean someone pushed Caitlin, and if so, who and why?
In the meantime, a man is stalking the neighborhoods around Meghan's apartment, attacking women at their most vulnerable times, which makes him the lead suspect in whoever attacked Caitlin. Meghan begins to feel incredibly unsafe for her and Sienna.
She's Not Sorry has a lot going on, but it’s not hard to keep up with. I feel I’ve been somewhat vague about the storyline and that is because I don’t want to give away any of the many plot twists throughout the novel so you will be just as enraptured as i was. I don’t predict any reader will see what’s around the corner in this thriller/mystery.
I highly recommend that if you begin this book, you should etch out a large chunk of time because you won’t want to put it down.

I have been a huge Mary Kubica fan ever since I read The Good Girl almost 10 years ago! She is one of my go-to authors when I am in the need of a good thriller! She's Not Sorry did not disappoint. I thought that the book was perfectly paced, suspenseful and there were many red herrings that made me question everything and everyone. The twist was a total shocker to me. I am usually pretty good at guessing twists in thrillers, but this one totally caught me by surprise. Well done! Overall, this is one of my favorites by Kubica, and I will definitely be recommending it.
Thank you to Netgalley for the advanced copy!

The beginning was a bit slow, but once you got about 25-30% of the way in, it started to hook me and I could not put it down! There were so many twists and turns that I did not see coming, and in a million years would have never guessed was the end result of what transpired certain events!
I do wish the story would have shown more of Caitlin instead of the additional plot line with a man attacking women, but overall it was still a really good read, and I highly recommend!

2.5 stars rounded down. While I enjoyed the authors writing and how easy this was to read, I feel like there was WAY too much going for my liking. There were three mystery plots happening simultaneously, and they didn't all connect in any way outside the fact they were all just happening to the main character, Meghan.
It was also very slow to get going, and I found myself struggling to get into the story. It was when we got to part 2 that it really picked up, but that was the last third of the book.
I think this book had a lot of promise, but it just wasn't for me. I'm for sure the outlier, though, based on other reviews, so I'm sad I didn't love it in the same way that others did.
Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is my 5th books by this author. She tends to be a hit or miss for me and I had high hopes for this one. The pacing was so slow with this one and the twists had me rolling my eyes. I predicted some of the twists and I’m usually okay with some unanswered questions but this time I was not. A pretty frustrating read overall.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was twisty and kept the reader on their toes. At the end of the day, Meghan needs to be more selective when choosing her friends.
