Cue Taylor swift’s “you’re not sorry” which was stuck in my head the whole time while reading this. My first by this author and I was pleasantly surprised! Didn’t see the twist coming and I’m excited to read more by her.

I just finished up this ARC for @marykubica upcoming release, She's Not Sorry - and I absolutely loved this. This story gripped me from the first page. This is definitely more of a slow burn but in my opinion, worth it. The pacing of this book allowed for Mary to slowly bring you into what was going on with each character.
This book follows Meghan, an ICU nurse, divorced, and navigating raising a teenage daughter. One day a patient comes in to the ICU, in a coma, after jumping off of a bridge. Meghan tries to keep her distance but she finds herself sucked into this patient, her family, and what really happened at the bridge. But with that comes danger, not only for her but for her daughter.
This book was truly a ride. It was everything I look for in a thriller, with so many different things that keep you guessing and a twisty ending that you'd never expect. Another amazing, TBR worthy book from Mary! Release date April 2, 2024. 💫
Thank you to @netgalley, @marykubica, and @harlequinbooks for this ebook ARC in exchange for my honest review. 📚

As a nurse, I enjoyed reading the point of view of the main female nurse character in this book. Sometimes slow burn thrillers like this bother me. While the characters were well-developed and the premise for the book was intriguing, I was confused with the timeline (it wasn't very clear about the timing of Meghan and Caitlin's reconnection and Caitlin's becoming the patient). I also felt that the slow build-up of the book's first half led to a real let-down of an ending.

This book was definitely entertaining, and kept me hooked until the end. There were a lot of complicated pieces to the story, and I got a bit confused by the timeline. Overall, this is a good solid read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

After a bit of a slow start, Mary Kubica's latest kicks into full gear about a third of the way in. The twists come fast and furious with an ending that, even though I saw it coming, still knocked it out of the park. Another solid offering from Ms. Kubica and an altogether great read.

I absolutely loved this book! Fantastic plot, great character development and it's a fast read! I would definitely recommend this book to friends and my bookclubs for a future read!

It was a nice quick read. I liked it but figured out the ending about halfway through. Was hoping for a few more plot twists but overall was a great read and I’d highly recommend.

An interesting psychological mystery with twists that will surprise you up to the end. Not quite a thriller, but an intriguing read.

This was a great book! I kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I loved the characters and become invested in them and couldn’t wait to find out what happened. I also love the writing style. All the characters and events were described in such a way that you feel like you are there. The twists and turns happened around each corner and I could not wait to find out how it ended. Overall, I give this book 4 stars as it was a gripping thriller and I could not predict the plot twists or the ending.

I agree with others about this being slow to start but then it really picks up. Did not see the twist coming and the second half kept me turning the page! I tend to enjoy Mary's work and this one was solid.

This was a bit of a slow burn for me in the beginning, but it picked up and left me unable to put it down!
Meghan Michaels is a recently divorced ICU nurse raising a teenaged daughter in Chicago. Her latest patient is a young woman suspected of jumping from a bridge. As the patient clings to life, we’re left wondering if she really was suicidal or if there’s something more sinister beneath the surface.
Several seemingly-disconnected story lines came together nicely for me and kept me guessing until the end. I thought I had it figured out, but I was sorely mistaken.
I’m a huge Kubica fan and was thrilled to receive the ARC from NetGalley. I can’t wait to discuss further when the book is released April 2.

Mary Kubica is a hit or miss for me, but this one was a hit. I give it a solid 3.5 stars - I didn't see the big twist coming, but the last few pages felt very rushed. You won't be sorry to read this one :)
Thanks so NetGalley for the ARC (advanced readers copy) of this one in exchange for my review.

What a read; it’s addictive, it’s gripping and the suspense is through the roof!!
This book kept me on the edge of my sofa, unable to take my eyes off of it as my heart raced and the twists kept throwing me off balance.
The plot is very-well executed and the writing will hook you up and keep you invested throughout the entirety of this intense rollercoaster.
And that ending?! It kept getting crazier and crazier, I honestly had troubles catching my breath.
Were some things a tad far-fetched? Yes! How about the loose ends? I thoroughly enjoyed this thrilling ride that I did not mind.
From now on, I will read anything written by this author :D

She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica was an enjoyable, twisty read. The mother/daughter relationship between Meghan and Sienna was believable and heartwrenching. The plot twists kept me very invested. I couldn't put the book down!
Meghan, an ICU nurse in Chicago uncovers a patient's surprising past and struggles to remain emotionally detached. Her relationships with those around her are tenuous.
This one had me guessing from start to finish.

Wow, She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica took me on a thrilling ride from start to finish! As a newbie to Kubica's work, I must say I'm completely blown away by the depth and intricacy of this story.
Following Meghan, an ICU nurse juggling the challenges of single motherhood and a demanding job, the narrative dives headfirst into the mystery surrounding Caitlin's tragic accident. Was it a suicide attempt, or something more sinister? The tension builds with each page turn as secrets unravel and suspicions arise.
What I loved most about this book was the way Kubica skillfully weaves together multiple dark storylines, keeping me guessing until the very end. There's a palpable sense of unease as two distinct narratives unfold simultaneously, and just when I thought I had it all figured out, Kubica throws in some unexpected twists that left my head spinning.
The medical setting adds an extra layer of intensity to the story, and I found myself completely immersed in the drama and chaos of the hospital environment. Plus, the characters are so well-developed that I couldn't help but become emotionally invested in their fates.
While there were a few loose ends left untied, they didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. She's Not Sorry is a gripping thriller with plenty of surprises and characters you'll love to hate. Mary Kubica has definitely earned a spot on my list of must-read authors, and I can't wait to dive into more of her work!

hank you to @htpbooks and @netgalley for this advanced copy.
I am a big fan of Mary Kubica so I was super excited when I got approved for this ARC on NetGalley. Her books was some of my early favorites when getting into thrillers.
This book felt like a lot was going on, and at first, I kind of had trouble keeping up. However, this is the first book I read postpartum and we were in and out of the hospital with my son so I could have just been distracted.
I trusted no one in this book. Every character made me feel uneasy and it kept me guessing until the very end.
There was a great mid-story twist and then the big twist at the end. I did not guess what was going to happen.
The formatting was kind of wonky on my kindle due to it being an ARC which I think contributed to some of my confusion while reading at first so I think the finished copy would likely be a better reading experience.
I rate this twisty thriller ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5) stars.
Is this one on your radar?

Wo w this book has a lot going on! You start off with a bang and get thrown around into two other parts that eventually lead up to one really screwed up ending lol. This was a fun read and I was lucky to be able to get an advanced copy. I think the only thing that bothered me was how the mom was really really nervous for most of the book, until you learn why.

This book is very slow at the beginning. Keep reading and it will pay off with lots of twists and turns!
Who is this patient? What happened to her? How is everything connected??
Everything comes together at the end!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy to read.

I have such mixed feelings about this book. It made me feel actual paranoia and fear at one point which almost never happens to me and the dual timeline twist shook me to my core and had me questioning if I had missed something. I even went back to check the tenses between the timelines.
That being said, there were several issues I couldn’t stop thinking about. Having the prologue placed verbatim into the story was so annoying. The prologue made the beginning of the story deeply confusing anyway to be honest so I feel like this book could’ve done without it. There were several times when the main character rattled off very well known domestic violence statistics in a way that felt like I was being talked down to. I would guess that the vast majority of domestic thriller readers already know that information so it didn’t need to be inserted in such an educational way. I also immediately predicted who the predator was and that was disappointing because the other twists in this book were quite good.
I feel like if these minor issues were recognized they would’ve been very easy fixes which would’ve made this book an easy 5 stars for a lot of people, including me

Meghan Michaels is trying to navigate life a single working mom of a teen girl in a crazy world. With a lunatic on the loose, attacking women in their tow, she is trying desperately to hold it all together. On her caseload in the ICU, is a woman who was thought to jump from a bridge, trying to commit suicide. That is, until evidence comes forth that she was pushed. Does this attack align with the others that have happened recently? Or is this one closer to home?
Thank you to NetGalley and Mary Kubica for the advanced copy of this intense and twisty thriller.
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. The main character was relatable and I felt her pain the entire way through this book. There were many surprises and some things that I am still questioning.
Will there be a follow up? I sure do hope so!
This book will live on in my brain for quite sometime, I'm sure!
