I was in a book slump and this was the perfect read to binge! There were many story lines going on to start but that ah ha moment was worth the wait. From that point on the book picked up exponentially and the twists and turns kept me hooked. I definitely recommend this book! A sign of a good book for me is I “go to bed early” to hide away and read until my eyes close.

I tried really hard to get into this book, the prologue is great, but ever since then it has just dragged. I am moving on from this book, at 50% it wasn’t for me. I may pick this up down the road as an audiobook.

It took a few chapters for this one to hook me, but when it did it hooked me good! Twisty in all the right places and kept me on the edge of my seat! I love everything Kubica has ever written and this is no exception.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Did I read this one sitting? Absolutely. I needed to know what was happening.
Did I become frustrated with keeping up with so many storylines and the chaos of Meghan’s life? Yes, that’s why it’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 instead of a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Did I finally understand the necessity of the different storylines when they tied together with a jaw-dropping twist? Yes, which is why I didn’t give it ⭐️⭐️.
I recommend it and I enjoyed it, but you don’t want to take time reading this or you’ll feel lost; I would have anyway.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC and allowing me to read early and review.
Meghan Michaels is a recently single mom of a 16 year old daughter and learning to maneuver her new life while continuing her 20 year career as an ICU nurse.
In her career, she has always been able to separate herself from becoming emotionally attached to her patients, however, when 32 year old Caitlin arrives in her care after a failed suic!de attempt, she fails miserable to detach.
With a serial rap!st attacking women within a few block radius of her apartment, she is constantly sidetracked for the safety of her daughter when she cannot be home with her.
Newly divorced, Meghan runs into a high school friend at her support group who is being abused by her husband. Due to a tragic incident with a former patient, Meghan does everything she can to help this old friend find safety.
Meghan also just discovered she may have breast cancer.
While she is stretched thin, she receives a call that her daughter, Sierra, has been kidn@pped and a ransom is required of her.
As Meghan processes these rapidly occurring events in her life, she begins uncovering secrets in the lives of those surrounding her, including that her patient is the victim of an attempted hom!cide.
When part two hits, your jaw WILL drop. Those TWISTS were on point. I want to rate this higher for those, but the story didn’t begin coming together until 70% and there was just too much happening to the FMC in such a short time frame.

There were aspects of this book I really liked. I enjoyed the pacing of the book; it moved quickly and very much kept me on edge the entire time I was reading. I also really loved the way the story was written. There were points when you could feel the tunnel vision the main character was experiencing like it was happening to you, which I found enticing. There were interesting red herrings with some very good twists. I appreciated how all the information we learned, mattered and came together. I didn’t care for the main character very much, but I appreciate how she needed to be that way for the story to work. I also didn’t much care for the minor characters, I felt no real attachment to any of them. The ending also just didn’t land for me, I was hoping for a more exciting ending, especially with all the lead up? I really expected more. I also felt that the sub story line about the serial killer was, for lack of a better word, overkill and there just for the sake of having. It didn’t really add anything to the story for me. Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC!

I liked this one! I thought it was pretty solid. I definitely enjoyed local women missing more, but this one is definitely on top of the others. There definitely was a lot of time building the story though, which was my only complaint

She's Not Sorry is a unique thriller. The first half follows a newly divorced nurse that is trying to navigate the dangers of being a single woman and living in the city while dealing with a coma patient that hits too close to home. The story ramps up toward the middle when a twist provides an unexpected turn of events. I think the pace of this story was great and the slow build up and descriptive psychological elements were fantastic and made the main character connect with the reader. 5 stars!

Yes! She did it AGAIN. Such an easy read! Such a great ride. I absolutely loved this book. Wish I could give this a million stars.

Thank you, Park Row and NetGalley, for the advanced copy of She's Not Sorry.
Mary Kubica is such a great thriller author. I think she outdid herself with She's Not Sorry. The twists in this novel took me for a ride that left me with whiplash! I couldn't put this one down, and I couldn't stop guessing who was behind our tragedy.
Meghan is an ICU nurse who is also juggling a recent divorce that left her as a single mom. When a patient comes into the hospital after jumping off a bridge, Meghan finds herself in the middle of a police investigation after it becomes apparent that this was not a suicide attempt. Meghan has been the confidante to the patient's grieving father, ran off an unknown (and unwelcomed) visitor, and had a front-row seat to the odd behavior of the patient's brother. All of this causes Meghan to get more involved than she should. Will Meghan be able to protect herself and her daughter, or will they find themselves in the crosshairs?

3.5/5, rounded down | Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing/Park Row for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Read this if you like books with…
• Deception
• Twists
• Fast paced storylines
• Layered plots
• Single POV
Mary Kubica knows how to write a thriller! Recently divorced mom & ICU nurse, Megan, finds herself in the middle of multiple entanglements that may or may not be related — threatening letters, an old HS friend in need of help, a man on the loose attacking women, a phone call demanding money, and a patient who she’s become overly involved with. With so many elements at play early on, each chapter brings you closer to understanding what’s really happening in Megan’s life.
This was definitely a fast paced read, but it didn’t pull me in as strongly as Kubica’s Local Woman Missing, nor was the ending as strong. Overall, though, a highly recommended read!

She's Not Sorry has red herrings, twists and turns, some nasty characters ( love that) and some you just wish the best for.
The book has quite a few sub plots and as a reader I could not wait to see how they all tied together.
Meghan a single mum raising her 16 year old daughter Sienna is also an ICU nurse.
She gets assigned to a patient who jumped from a bridge but did not succumb to her injuries as of yet.
On the home front Meghan is doing her best to raise her daughter and keep her safe.
She is worried as there is a man attacking women in her area.
The tension mounts.
Meghan meets Nat an old friend from high school but something about her story does not ring true.
Everyone has secrets , everyone is hiding something that will blow apart their world if the truth comes out.
Mary Kubica is a master at surprising the reader with a jaw dropping ending and She's Not Sorry is no exception.
Grab your copy, clear your calendar and get ready for a tense, nail biting read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Harelquin Trade Publishing, Park Row for page turning read.

Mary Kubica does it again!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Her books are so easy to read, and so addictive, they just hook you til you've devoured every last word!! This was one wild ride! She's Not Sorry is smart and multilayered without being confusing or convoluted. The MC Meghan becomes a fast friend, who's so easy to root for. This is a super fast-paced read, with this momentum I just love. It had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, with twist after satisfying twist! Well done!! 👏🏻
4-4.5 stars

Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for providing this ARC.
I have read a few Mary Kubica books before and really liked them. She’s Not Sorry is not my favorite by her. The premise for the story is very interesting and I enjoyed the twists that went along with the main story as they were plausible but not expected! However, I did feel like there were two different stories playing out and I did not see how the two were super relevant to each other. I was excited that the story follows Meghan an ICU nurse, but I did not enjoy it as much as I anticipated. This could be because I am a nurse and some of the information given made it a little tedious to read. I did enjoy the book overall and would recommend it to others.

This is not my first read by this author so I knew I liked the writing style and had some expectations going in. But this book blew me out of the water. I enjoyed every bit of it.

Another hit by my new fave author! This one was her best yet, in my opinion. Just the right amount of tension, expertly crafted twists, and characters who were easy to empathize with. This book makes you question morality: right vs wrong vs the morally grey area. It had an ominous ending, which I always love in a thriller.
When the first big twist happened just before Part 2, it took a second for it to click, and then I said (out loud to an empty apartment) “Wait, WHAT???” 😂 I love books that make me express my feelings out loud.

I absolutely loved this book. It was a bit of a slow burn, but it was so compelling from the very beginning. There were a lot of plot lines going on and I was eager to see how they all came together. I found myself thinking about this book a lot when I couldn’t read it, and getting excited to finally sit down with it and read more. This story had a MINDBLOWING twist. So, so good. 10/10.
Thank you so much to Harlequin Trade Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity for this Advance Copy!

Mary Kubica’s latest novel, She’s Not Sorry, is a thriller about an ICU nurse (Meghan) who’s life gets very complicated in a very short span of time. When Meghan gets a new patient in the ICU unit it appears the young woman tried to commit suicide by jumping from a bridge. But as the police begin to investigate, it is not quite clear if it was a suicide attempt, an accident or something more sinister. Meanwhile there is a predator roaming the streets at night attaching and raping women who live alone. Through all this Meghan runs into an old high school friend, Nat, at a divorce group meeting. When it appears that Nat maybe a victim of abuse, Meghan feels she must do all she can to help her friend.
If all this sounds a bit confusing and disjointed, that is exactly how it comes across in the book. The first two thirds of the book felt like it was all over the place, jumping around and at times a bit confusing. It became clear early on who the predators was but there were still lots of twists and turns I didn’t see coming. The first half of the book didn’t really pull me in but I am glad I kept reading. It did pick up the second half and things started coming together. I would recommend this book to all fans of psychological thriller fans.

This was my first Mary Kubica novel. I loved the character development for Meghan, a divorced mom and an ICU nurse tasked with taking care of a coma patient who tried to take her own life. I was aware this author writes thrillers, and although the first half of the book was tense, I was beginning to wonder if I misjudged the genre. When I read the first twist, I was shocked! I never saw it coming! Then the twists just kept on coming! This was such a wonderful book! I flew through it.

5 stars!
This will definitely end up being in my top 5 reads of the year! Just WOW. I loved the story, the characters, the writing style. I can honestly say i've never read a book with that many well executed twists before.
I will recommend this book to all my fellow thriller lovers!
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the ARC!

Mary Kubica is the queen of twists. I always think I have it all figured out then the story comes together with a slew of additional surprises…which I love! I think I’ve read most of Kubica’s books, and this one definitely has a spot close to the top. “Local Woman Missing” still being my favorite of hers I’ve read to date.
This story is about a recently divorced nurse who is caring for a patient in the ICU who supposedly jumped off a bridge. As the story unfolds, you begin to wonder, did she really jump? Not to worry though, all is revealed in the end. What I love about MK’s writing style is there are always multiple plots taking place and the through lines between them are always wrapped up nicely. It’s all connected. Always is.
I recommend this book for thriller and mystery lovers and anyone who loves a good page turner.
