This book was a really strong 4 stars, verging on 5 stars and I expected nothing less from Mary Kubica, one of the queens of suspense! Admittedly, it did take me a bit to really engage with the plot and characters - but once I did, the rest of the book FLEW by. It was sooo good and I was so invested in what was going on. There are really two huge storylines going on at the same time throughout this book. We have the story of this woman who either fell or was pushed from a ledge overlooking the train tracks. Who was she? What happened? Was it suicide or attempted murder? And will she come out of her coma? And then at the same time, we have all these random attacks on women in the area who are being raped, sometimes even in their own home. I will admit that I was able to guess one of the twists, but the others really got me! And I love to be got! lol.
Look for this wherever books are sold on April 16th, 2024 - Trust me, YOU WANT TO READ THIS BOOK.

Mary Kubica does it again. She knows how to write a thriller that is like nothing I have read before, and that is hard because I read a lot of thrillers! Her books always keep me on my toes and this one was no exception. Meghan is an interesting character who is just trying to find balance in her life. But of course she gets sucked into the tragic story of a patient at her hospital. I loved the ride this story takes you on and I cant wait to see where Mary Kubica takes us next.

This was a good thriller -- although I do feel that it left a couple of loose ends, but I often feel that way with Mary Kubica books. I think maybe she intends to keep the reader thinking about what could happen.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

So many twists! I really enjoyed how everything was revealed in lives throughout the book, instead of all dumped out in the last 10 pages.
Not a very original premise, but executed well. Kept me interested the entire time! Real, flawed and relatable characters that I felt connected with. Read this pretty quickly because of how well it captivated me.
Definitely going to recommend this one

This book sucked me in right away, but with a rushed ending it left a little to be desired. The plot of this book is great and some of the twist very unique. I loved the setting and the characters, especially the side characters who really added to the story. If the ending wasn’t such a let down for me this would have easily been 5 stars.
Read if you like:
- Hard to guess twist
- Moody settings
- Interesting characters
- Mother/daughter relationships
- Medical dramas
Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for the eARC.

Mary Kubica always gets a high rating from me. This thriller is very tense but not in a bad way. It hooks you in and will not let you go!

The writing in this was great, the characters were well thought out with struggles and complexities.
I wanted to love this but there was so much lead up to things that it didn’t feel like the pay off was enough. The start of this was slow and then it picked up in pace but not in story line if that makes sense.
I enjoyed the twists but the ending felt very predictable and drawn out. It could have done without some of the paragraphs at the end unless this is leading to another book?
This also took me about two months to read because I would pick it up and put it down for long periods to read other things.

Meghan Michaels is a recently divorced ICU nurse, trying to adjust to her new life normal and parent her teen daughter Sienna. As a seasoned nurse, she is usually able to successfully compartmentalize her stressful work life. However, when a thirty-two year old woman named Caitlin Beckett is brought into the ICU after she survives a suicide jump off a pedestrian bridge, professional and personal lines become blurred for Meghan. She becomes acquainted with Caitlin's parents and tries to sort out her own past emotional trauma that begins to rise to the surface.
The police begin to investigate and are not convinced that Caitlin jumped-she may have been pushed. Who could have committed such a heinous act?
As Meghan becomes more and more entangled in the case, she's not certain who is the real enemy. And as a serial attacker begins to prey on women in her neighborhood, Meghan is not sure where to turn to in order to keep herself and Sienna safe.
Kubica has created a whiplash of a thriller with twists and turns that were gasp-worthy. I literally read this book in one sitting, desperate to get to the resolution. I loved her thorough research on nursing and as someone who grew up in the Chicago suburbs, I appreciate her attention to accuracy and detail in the city of Chicago where the story takes place. With a tightly wound suspenseful plot and satisfying twists and turns, this is a thriller that you definitely don't want to miss.

Hmm I’m between 2 and 3 stars! I felt like this was a quick read and it did keep my interest. I liked the storyline and felt like I connected to the main character. The writing is easy to read and captured my attention. I wanted to know what was going to happen.. but there wasn’t anything super surprising either? I guessed one of the twists early on and the other one didn’t shock me to find out. There was so much lead up to everything and I wanted more than the ending we got 😂 It did have me on edge during some parts though 🤷🏼♀️
I don’t really see why anything with the man raping women in the city was even necessary? I guess it added suspense to certain moments but it had nothing to do with the attempted suicide patient storyline 🤔🤔 or just to add an extra “twist”? But that part was easy to guess. I just didn’t feel satisfied with how things came together at the end. It felt all felt rushed and random.

Mary Kubica has done it again. What a great thriller. I didn't see some of the twist coming. The story grabbed me at the started and held on. Will totaly recommend this one to friends.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for an ARC of She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica. I have been a long-time fan of Kubica's, and my enjoyment of her novels only continues with She's Not Sorry. This may be her best one yet! It captivates the reader from the start, and has great character development. I would highly recommend to others.

The first half of the book was great…the second half of the book was rushed and a little difficult to follow. I figured out who the rapist was early on but the big twist with Caitlin was a doozy.
I really don’t think the last couple of paragraphs were needed…her wondering what Ben knows. Seemed unnecessary and the author just trying to get one more rise out of the reader that fell flat.

Well, that was quite a ride! I adore heart-pounding thrillers, and She’s Not Sorry, fits the bill! Mary Kubica is a master a creating a storyline that leads you in so many directions and this gem had my head spinning. Between the intricate layers and complex characters, I never figured out the mystery until it was revealed— love that! This 5 star novel would make a fantastic movie because it’s just that good! For all of the mystery/thriller fans out there She’s Not Sorry is a MUST READ!

I always look forward to Mary Kubica's new books. This one was really good! A single mom who is a nurse treats a patient who has attempted suicide. There is a serial rapist on the loose. Someone kidnaps her daughter. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story that will keep you turning the pages until you get to the bottom of it. Loved it!

Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC. Mary Kubica is back! I tried and failed to read her last book and was second-guessing how someone who wrote that poorly could be a successful author.
Thankfully, this one was a HUGE redemption imo. Interesting plot. Likable characters. Twists I kind of but didn’t completely see coming. Once I started reading in earnest, I devoured it. Very well done!

First, thank you NetGalley & Harlequin Trade Publishing for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I really enjoyed this thriller. The twists. Oh my gosh. I didn’t see them coming. I was completely shocked and had to rethink what I read to understand how I missed the biggest twist. Also, the characters, they will leave you questioning all of their purposes and if they are innocent. You’ll find the main character really likable which I feel makes this read even more exciting.
So with all of that, this is definitely a fast paced thriller that you won’t be able to put down. Seriously, after 60 percent, I didn’t even put it down because I was at the point of tired of guessing who did what and needing to know. Really good and very impressed as this was my first Mary Kubica book.

Mary Kubica delights as always. Her books are always a treat. I recommend to anyone who likes a suspense with a twist.

I have loved every Mary kubica book I’ve read and this is no exception. This may have been her best yet. There were numerous plots going on at the same time which was a little confusing at first but it all came together towards the end. Three separate mysteries but one central character experiencing them all. All the connections were genuinely surprising and I had zero idea what was gonna happen. Highly recommend this to everyone when it comes out if you love a good suspense novel. It was so creative and amazing.
Thank you to Mary Kubica, NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!!

This thriller takes its time to set the stage, starting off at a slow pace that might test the patience of some readers. However, for those who persist, the story eventually finds its rhythm and accelerates into an engaging narrative.
Meghan, the central character, is a complex individual with internal conflicts that add depth to her persona. While Meghan's internal struggles are well-portrayed, her interactions with others seem superficial. A notable example is her relationship with Nat, an old friend. Despite Meghan being a guarded individual, her willingness to readily believe everything Nat says after a decade of silence raises eyebrows. This aspect of the story feels choppy and fails to deliver a convincing connection.
The plot, despite its predictability, maintains a level of excitement that keeps readers invested. The thriller elements are enjoyable, and the pacing, once it picks up, keeps the adrenaline flowing. However, a discerning reader might find the ending somewhat foreseeable, dampening the element of surprise. While the character dynamics could have been better developed, the overall narrative is still a worthwhile read for fans of the genre.
I would like to express my gratitude to Harlequin Trade Publishing, Park Row and NetGalley for allowing me to read this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Another exciting thriller from Mary Kubica filled with unexpected twists and turns. I’d say it’s a slow burn as it does require some patience to really pick up steam. That being said, it kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down. In fact, I read it in two days.
There are multiple storylines. A recently divorced ICU nurse gets emotionally attached to a patient and her family. This happens at the same time she is reconnecting with an old high school friend. And to top it off, a dangerous man is on the loose kidnapping and abusing women. Kubica does a great job at making you suspicious of everyone.
I also thought the main character was likable. I found myself rooting for her, even when I knew she was doing something wrong.
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
